hmmm, i wonder all this minimum protein requirement is real or not ... since not eating enough protein can grow that big ....... maybe all we need is just 1.2g per kg of protein per day and we can still grow ....

A year and a half back I had about more than 60g of additional protein from supplements everyday and I gained size; I was 66.5kg and had more muscle mass. Today, I only get about 50-70g of protein per day from whole foods only. I'm currently at 61kg.This post has been edited by Vbs: Jun 30 2011, 10:43 AM |

Vbs, you mean more protein can help you gain size ? how much total protein you take for the mass gain (in g / kg bw). Do you distribute it evenly for the day or more during the workout period
Have you tried taking 1.2g / kg and see if that can add mass to you ? of course you need to have caloric surplus. From carb and fat .... |

that's why i doubt the recommended protein intake of 1g/lb to build mass. Seems that this guy oppose that recommended protein and grow so much and so strong.
Or maybe he under calculate his protein consumption ? Maybe he consume more only he do not realize ? |

@kurtkob78
I started taking weight gainers like what most skinny guys would do a few times a week. My weight shot up from 58-66.5kg within 2 months. Gained lots of fat and some muscles. When I ran out of the stuff, I switched to wheat protein isolate. On top of a normal diet with a little more carbs than what I'm taking today, I took 3 scoops of protein each day in the morning, afternoon and pre-bedtime. I had about 100-110g of protein in those days, which is not even close to my bodyweight in lbs but I still managed to pack on more muscle mass. @Crab Got the link to the dude's diet? Added on June 30, 2011, 11:39 amI can still understand some words.. and I realize he's only eating like 3 main meals a day + snack time. Pretty unbelievable man. That breakfast isn't even solid food. It's also funny how some days he'd get more than 100g of protein considering the number of meals he eats. This post has been edited by Vbs: Jun 30 2011, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(theCrab @ Jun 30 2011, 01:17 PM) been follow his thread for 2 years You can give his diet a try to see how it works, though I personally think that the fat intake is quite low for a BB'er.and know someone in real life besides him, should be NO probably genetic factor,he's like a legend in the forum btw he advise us not to follow his diet cause he claim he definitely know what he is going to eat and know what he is eating.with years of experiences mostly are some chinese traditional herbs/fruits..etc.. this is why i carry out the discussion...is anyone here with an example ? Shouldn't be.I've read his journal. In short,he is just like those hardcore martial artists u saw in those kungfu movies.Like jackie chan's old movies, just keep training, training n training, eat just like normal, (according to him,he wasn't someone believe in supplement). Is it possible maybe his kidney can digest all the protein so he has 0% protein waste ? Yes,he is against all sort of the BB theories as Crab said. According to the guy,he was a bad boy and involve in fights, then change over a new leaf and engaged in BB. He just trained hard. Crab, thx for introducing such example. He may just be a layman, but as he said himself, he believe in determination and our mind determine what our body can do (his philosophy which is also a good philosophy). So in short, instead of struggling with articles and theories of how muscles can grow it best, this man just buried himself in routines. In my opinion, it's really up to one to choose to be like him (hardcore trainer) or a work smart, train smart. Crab, I do know someone like him, but my fren is kind of suffer and struggle through pains, he managed to get a good physique in just short while. But he gave up quite soon enough (just 1 year after he trained). What my fren did was using dumbell of 10kg each side, completed a 100 reps each body part exercise everyday (like shoulder press-->bicep curl-->tricep kickback-->bench press-->deadlift-->squats-->lunges and end with crunches).from the day 1 he start to the last day.He may increase but never decrease.Minimum rest, of course he failed at certain # of reps,he just rest then continue all the way. Btw, after now we graduate, my fren started to give in. The last time I met him in futsal court, he said that he grow lots fat since not training. EFFORT and HARDWORK build MEN. I'm still a small boy though. M'sia does has a lot BIG GUYS!!! |

FYI carbs and fats do not build muscle. they just present an opportunity window to build a muscle in layman's terms. therefore, building muscle is generally more expensive. but if you clean bulk. then you dont need to spend much money or effort when you cut. only prob with most people is that they are too lazy to cook own food. |

Shoulders and chest looks good. Though, like bata said, gotta improve the traps a bit!
And damn, you became Johnny Depp by going to the gym, you gotta let me in on your secret for that! Edit: Latest progress on chest & legs! Anyone have tips on hitting the outer sweep? Maybe you using cheap (and nearly broken) analog weighing machine? Those thing is not accurate one... or maybe you comparing results on different machine. Best is to measure by digital and with same machine everytime...

My time fooling around with my workout picture
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'm interested trying out forward bending deadlift. Hope if we can discuss on this. I've read that deadlifting with straight back... well, strong during straight only, like a stick, when forward bend, broken. Need to be like a steel, cannot be easily broken when bend. Anyone doing this? Zercher deadlift, odd object deadlift (water filled swissball, sandbag)... for starters, are we suppose to maintain normal lumbar curve during this movement, and allow lordosis and thoracic to bend? Of course, I'm not interested on matching my 1RM in normal deadlift. Aiming 50% of 1RM is OK enough? Need to be strong in back bend, straight and forward bend couple with strong abs (full contact twist, standing ab-wheel, and dragon flag)... Thanks guys!
Samsk, are you referring to towel pull up? To be honest, you should try both because both has it place in workout. Both have progression... Towel assisted one arm chin/pull up. You can count how many fist you make on the towel. You'll start from 1 fist, and move your fist futher down until your current level. I can make a 10 fist. You can also put a weight once you have conquer >=10fist progression. I personally have never done this, I will try it later on. This exercise is good because you doing your pulling mostly with the upper hand. You can compare your left/right hand performance and easily can target the weaker hand to match the stronger hand. And if you aiming for one arm chin/pull up later thus exercise is a must because it teach you about how to balance and coordinate urself. Towel chin/pull up. You can put weight on once you can do towel pull up. This is actually a test of grip. You can increase the difficulty by pulling on a thicker towel. My main goal will forever be a one arm chin up. I'll need grip, unbelievable strength-to-bodyweight ratio, and strong joint/tendon in order to accomplish this, so above 2 should help me a lot. Last time I tried, I can do one arm negative chinup for 10 second. Stilll progressing... |

Sorry long time no post. Busy with work, like crazy busy but lookie, arm. Cut from 89kg to 79kg but for example still benching around 315-335lbs. I don't dare go too heavy during cutting for fear of injury. Pedro's seen my progress in person, in fact just met up with him for shisha just now:-

Cmon guys, sure you all have tricep too. I'm not into bodybuilding, but I will join to share my tiny hand and nearly non-visible tricep. Dont get shy now~ share!
[attachmentid=2336380] [attachmentid=2336381] I noticed that there is an opportunity to do "human flag" exercise on my power rack. I always cant practice this as to non-existing suitable place candidate to do this. So I tried it just now... [attachmentid=2336378] [attachmentid=2336379] Note: I am still new to this workout, have tried it month before with no success. Today, I tried again and I barely pause on the pose (it is a snapshot from a movie). Will work on this more after this. This post has been edited by hoxy: Jul 18 2011, 01:18 PM |

QUOTE(darklight79 @ Jul 19 2011, 07:19 AM) Thanks brother. I feel like crap now. Was on call on surgical yesterday. Zzz... Dunno if should go gym later or not. Haha Surgical call is easily the worst I know. Only idiots like me will pursue Surgery haha. Am in HUKM doing some intensive course now, went to Leisure Mall FF yesterday OMG the free weight area is like a sardine can. Anyway seriously you have done a pretty good job cutting. To me the toughest part is to make up your mind and to overcome the idea of holding on to the mass you have, you know, losing a bit of size as you cut just sounds intimidating haha. As far as I am concern, cardio also promotes good health and stable heart beat per minute. Dispose toxic from body by sweating.

To those who ask how I cut, it's nothing special. I've been bulking or culking so long I'm just piss bored and want to try pure cutting for a bit but the weird thing is my strength levels are still the same albeit with a slight loss in stamina in terms of reps. I don't diet, in fact most of you guys have a lot more stricter meals than me. I still eat curry and sambal stuff occasionally for lunch, the only change is some cardio for 15-20 mins tops PWO. I think Kmaru, John91 or Dan would be in a better position to advise you on cutting because those guys are naturally ripped.
Here's a pic, nothing spectacular but my waist shrunk from 34 inches to 30.5 inches. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by darklight79: Jul 23 2011, 10:54 AM |

There are guys here who are insanely ripped like I said earlier. John91, Dan, Kmaru (if he's in contest prep). I'm just doing this for fun. Not too experiencing in cutting, just a trial by error thingie. I love my cheat days too much to diet thoroughly. |

Goal: To be functionally strong, so strong you dont want to mess with me (even though you are so much larger than me)
Anyway, here me again demonstrating how tough a bodyweight exercise can be. Neck bridge (not for the weak heart)! [attachmentid=2347270] Achieved! Now this is how we exercise our neck muscle, proper! |

i jus like liftin...not that i'm good at it, but i detest runnin... dark seems to hv made it good with his cuttin routine yet maintain a diet which allows 1 to eat more freely. the diet seems to suit me, as i treasure my meal times with my family, jus on weekends, and i eat outside regularly...at least i try to eat as clean as possible... |

Yah, i envy you guys being able to take off your clothes and just snap a pic! (i'm a girl, a bit the salah to take off my clothes o_O)
I also envy you guys can bulk up as you like with no worries! Girls can only grow so big genetically and even if we could, we'd have to think about all the money we would have to spend to buy fitting bras and clothes due to the width of a wide lat! Like it or not, female apparels are more expensive than men's |

i mean bodybuilders would want to concentrate on using target muscles to make those lifts, powerlifters would use every muscle they could to make the lift even if it means using their calves for bench press...(that's is if they could)zz

u need carbs to grow too
at 1 point, when i was 68kg, i follow a high protein low carbs diet and i didn't grow much, if any... then i remember reading something abt darklight's post ...if u r not growing, u r not eating enough. not directed at me, jus somewhere in this forum... sort of jolt me awake.... i eat as much as i can now, i mind the carbs, but i still eat them... how i'm 74kg, and i still wear the same pants that i did when i was 68kg. not complaining |

Hehe -Dan, everyone knows everyone need to start from somewhere, everyone is a noob/beginner at some point. Even my arm are relatively smaller than raynx... overtime of course even I will have a bigger arm naturally (than now) as my strength increase, no doubt. What raynx has achieved surely should be admired... for those who are not there yet, we need some reality check that anything is possible. No need to get discourage or angry, just make it as a motivation.
-Dan, your arm is already big and nearly bigger than my thigh already! Damn it! hehe no la... good job bro~ keep doing what you are doing... you are doing just fine. |

You got me there, damn it. But honestly, she looks good. The reason I am asking for picture before is because... I'm wondering whether I should ask my wife to lift weight together with me, I have a good starter home gym set... I think I like what I see in raynx... except I rather dont want my wife arm bigger than me, that will be weird!

Nice arm than some of the guys into bodybuilding over here... lol kurtkob & hoxy, thanks! raynx, what is your goal in working out? Bodybuilding or strength training? I do mostly strength programs around 4 sets from 10-4reps incremental weights and occasionally throw in some explosive/olympic lifting workouts. Trying so be able to lift at least twice my weight for upper body and 3 times more for my lower body but I want to be smaller in size. Dont think my diet program would help any of you guys since i am a girl. i take in about 1300-1400 kcal. Clean diet. Supplements include ON Casein, ON Hydrowhey, multivits and fish oil. hoxy, it's never to late to start |

Hoxy: Dude, great job on the muscle up! I've always been wanting to do that. Any tips on that? I've always liked your variations of bodyweight exercises, some are even unheard of to me. I like it because it focuses a lot on the core strength. You have the agility and flexibility of a gymnast and yoga-ist. Agility and flexibility are skills which I've always lacked; I think they are highly important from a fitness perspective.
Anyway, it doesn't matter when you started to lift weights. If you say 'i wish i started lifting at # age bla bla', you are comparing yourself to others in envy. Fitness should always be about outdoing your old, weaker self, not others. |

I wont say put it together...
I guess everyone has different style. IMO, myself prefer to bulk up then only start doing conditioning. Is quite impossible to pack up muscle mass and look very lean at the same time because the training and daily meal will be different. Still, still possible for some people. Try go for clean bulk and add in cardio at the same time. moderate cardio will do. |

~VBS, thanks for the compliments and the good advice, you are right, I will strive to outdo my weaker self, else I will be in a wrong state of mind every time I see young guns posting here. Weird exercises huh... I guess I like to do different things to challenge myself. I hope I can consistently find out new exercise in the future and share it once I nailed it.
Advice on muscle up... you can refer to below video. I get mine by following the advice from the clip also... I would say the most important thing in muscle up is the fine point of technique, not so much on raw strength, you can be very strong and pulling weighted chin/pull up all day long, if you dont have the technique and explosive, it never going to happen. Start to pull at an angle, very strongly, very explosive... and be prepared to have a sore or injured elbow. The only body parts that very hard to train which is the area at the elbow joint, this area get hits with nearly all your bodyweight as you transition from pull up to a dip position, imagine a muscle that dont get real direct hit and suddenly loaded with bodyweight and momentum force, it means a real way to really get into pain and get injured. I was at pain for 2 weeks. To reduce the chances of getting injured, I suspect doing side lever with sledgehammer (or alike) would help. ~Bata, you doing ab wheel also? Haha... I know standing ab wheel is a real b!tch to master... take your time and enjoy the pain! The gap between kneeling and standing is so so so huge, I used to thought it is impossible also. I think doing bridges help my progression. After all, the only main difference between kneeling and standing is the very sharp loading/pain at the back due to the extending of the lower back. I think me doing bridge and backbend helps, doing full contact twist/landmine might or might not help, aside from that, I dont see any other different things helping me on progressing to standing version. I also use swiss ball to modify leverage, I got picture on several page before this page if you wish to refer on the setup... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « ~ijnek... the power of consistent persuasion. haha~ This post has been edited by hoxy: Aug 1 2011, 08:16 PM |

For now I am happy with 10 normal chin up reps ~raynx, I thought I'm the only person working to match their skill and achievement one by one. Glad to know you interested in doing what they are doing also. Bodyweight exercise especially on the bar... fun and challenging. I own a power rack and mostly I used my power rack for the chin up bar instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe7faw6JgJw&sns=em They've got plenty more vids on YouTube. Just search for 'bartendaz' I wish we have all below setting at one place outdorr, do let me know if you all know where to find these setup at one place. a) Horizontal stair. The main pillar, is usually thick, like from my previous picture, it train the grip. b) Dip bar. Doing dip, and planche. c) Vertical open ended bar. Can use for stepping for one leg squat and also for handstand. d) Vertical stair. Clearly with human flag in mind. e) Multiple chin up bar. Multiple height. f) Some long chair with handle at one one end. Chair can be multiple angle. Suitable for dragon flag. Some of the skill I noticed they are doing: 1) Muscle up, 2) Strict muscle up, 3) Close grip muscle up, 4) Slow muscle up, 5) Mixed grip muscle up, 6) Change hand muscle up, 7) Planche, 8) Human flag, 9) Side to side pull up, 10) Around the world pull up, 11) Letter pull up, 12) One arm pull up, 13) Weighted pull up, 14) Muscle up + planche on horizontal bar, 15) Good 'ol Dip, 16) Back lever on dip (horizontal plane, and vertical plane) and horizontal bar, 17) Front lever on dip (horizontal plane, and vertical plane)and horizontal bar, 18) Plyometric push up. 3 clap... insane. 19) One arm push up Most of the time I dont have a name for what they are doing, but I do refer to all different bar master pages in youtube from time to time to see what else I can try to tackle next. The thing is... the are not only strong, they are super strong, inhuman. They are also very explosive. Have a grip that is seriously insanely strong. Imagine doing human flag on a vertical bar and also front/back lever on a vertical bar also... To understand this, perhaps a vertical deadlift is in order. Super strong core and midsection to keep them rigid, strict and static during movement or a hold. And the most important unseen things people dont understand... strong tendon, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Please do add on the exercise list above if I missed any. |

You are doing it full 17sec? You are a 100kg big man, of course it is hard even if it is two hand. That is a cool feat also. Imagine your strength with a 50kg body weight (mine is 52kg) and you will be showing picture like mine also. Strength-BodyWeight ratio rule.
Thanks for the acknowledgment, I take it as a fuel to move forward. To have the strength of a bigger man in a smaller body... that is a nice goal. Nothing is wrong with that. This post has been edited by hoxy: Aug 3 2011, 09:23 PM |

Hoxy, pls pardon me if i sound like insinuating u, respect u for yr strength actually. Maybe i shld come out & admit that i'm the small guy referred to. Stronger than some bigger people but not big as i want to considering the amount of huffing & puffing i've put in..

Ok it is just a confusion. I was particularly not angry or pissed off but felt weird on the issue in particular and automatically assume I'm the subject and felt ever weirder.
If you want to get big, just eat more frequently, increase your calorie intake. 5~6 meals. If still not getting bigger, increase your calorie intake again, means each meals calorie need to increase. Repeat increasing your calorie intake until you become bigger. Increase your sets. |

You will do it eventually, if you can do 1 rep, you can work on getting adding rep from time to time. I'll be extra worried if I can't do 1 rep, once secured 1 rep, increasing rep is just about maintaining the strength or improving it a little and obtaining more endurance, more reps will come the more you do an exercise. Keep having your goal on achieving bodyweight exercise goal. I still not able to do weighted chin up to match your kind of weight, same as a dip. Having a big body and conquering bodyweight exercise means a very strong guy. Keep on working on it, you'll get it. QUOTE(raynx @ Aug 3 2011, 11:33 PM) Hoxy, how tall are you? I'm still a work on progress, but thanks anyway, glad to motivate others like you, same as you motivate me. Now I have to be extra worried even more... I need to workout twice as hard just to keep the gap intact, lol. QUOTE(theCrab @ Aug 4 2011, 12:10 AM) Hoxy 2 pull up? No worry, 3, 4, 5, and even more reps will be yours if you just continue to do pull up. Aiming for more reps is largely endurance, to gain endurance... you just need to keep repeating the same movement over and over.I am weight at 82 kg(carrying ltos of excess fat flabby) and still shooting up as i am bulking do you have any idea/advise to improve my pull ups number? the best i think i can do is 2 pull ups.. Or you can try convict conditioning method, if you are discipline enough (I'm not) to follow the steps from step 1, eventually you'll gain ability to do more reps. Or you can try to increase strength, so strong that with two hands, where you feel like it is almost like pulling a nothing on your way up. I used to try to increase my rep to no success. Once I'm on strength training doing weighted chin/pull up (1~3 rep only) for quite a while, then I tried normal unweighted version... it was too easy, too swift of a motion. I've read strength training only can bring you so far in terms of max rep you can finally do, maybe 15 reps? More than that, no matter how strong you improve further it never going to happen. You need to switch from strength training back to training for endurance, which is repeating the movement again and again. Train your grip. The more powerful your grip the better you can use the cheat way of pulling massive feat and greater achievement. Google up irradiation (it is by Pavel). Purposefully grip the bar so hard when you doing pull up. For pull up, put more pressure on your little finger, or the last two finger to engage the more powerful lats even more. Train your shoulder, having strong lats, strong arm, but weak intermediary muscle hold your progress. Recognize your strength and weakness, you are as strong as your weakest link. What else, believe it or not, strong midsection helps in bringing more strength and power to every of your lift. It amplifies your strength. Having max pressure in the midsection does this. Not the visible 6 abs you get by cardio and diet, but a truly strong midsection, oblique, transversus abdominis, lumbar erector http://www.t-nation.com/testosterone-magazine-627 Well, strength training is all about technique. You dont say to Usain bolt... you run fast because of good technique and discard his achievement. Yeah, one more thing. Exploit negative... it is a real cheat way to get real strong in a rush. I think that's it. Oh, 1 more thing, strength-bodyweight ratio. Increase strength. or decrease bodyweight. or do both. But since you want to bulk up, increase strength is your only option then... QUOTE(moe81 @ Aug 4 2011, 01:34 AM) Oh well i haven't posted shit in here for the longest time.. Works been riding up my ass. You look... scary. People interested in push/pull ups, dips and etc etc bodyweight workouts can lepak and discuss further. |

QUOTE(Alphaproject @ Aug 4 2011, 09:49 AM) sorry if i offended anybody, the reason why i quote what Bob said is because of safety... u can lift heavy but within your limit, and i know, in bodybuilding one must surpass their limit in order to advance and grow... but train smart is always a better choice than train hard... it could be insignificant now but remember, 1 small error in your training and it might be your last... eventhough my stat are quite intimidating, but i lift a very light weight compare to you all here lifting... my bench only max at 220 pounds for 6-8 reps, t-bar or barbell rows only 190 pounds, squats 180-200 pounds, and military press (bar) 121 pounds... but i train with intensity (not sloppy) and the most importance things is to make 100% sure your mind are connected to your muscles all the time when training... without it you will just "zombie lifting"... I feel good. I've cut to 169lbs bodyweight and I'm benching 345lbs for 5 reps. =P And strength is still going up. Bodybuilders aren't weak, period, they just don't give too much of a damn about core strength. Lemme put it this way, I'm a narcissist. I love public attention most the time. Having people check out and admire my physique in public makes me feel good about myself because I know what I do in the gym pays off. This is my opinion, no point having so much strength for a guy yet there's nothing to show in the physical outlook. But then that's what "I" think. To each his own. Different individuals, different aims and goals. |

Bodybuilders aren't weak, period, they just don't give too much of a damn about core strength. actually, i have the same mindset as Hoxy before i learn more about bodybuilding, i was training core, 1 arm pulls up, 1 tumb push up (yes i can do 1 tumb push up but with both hand la), 1 arm push up, and etc... maybe by learning how your body react, respone, and absorb, you're actually prepare your body for higher and more advance training in the future. Im not saying is the correct way but hey, it works for me... btw, i love the attention of ppl starring at my arms too... 18.5 inch (relax and not exercise pumped) for my height (5' 7") do really motivate me to lift more... but i have seen ppl at gym can curl 50-60kg but only 16 inch when pumped really loled me alot... I bet if you cut, and even if you lose size in your arms in the process, with a small waist and defined lines you'll look a lot bigger and more impressive. QUOTE(raynx @ Aug 4 2011, 09:45 AM) Ahhh!!! I am shorter, 1.6m and heavier! now i feel like 'si gemok'! LOL 56kg and shorter than me? You are actually quite OK in weight, just nice. Losing weight a little wont hurt you also... I have no idea how light i wanna be really. The initial idea is to be as compact as possible and when i saw your pics, i knew that's what i wanna achieve. Massive strength! Do you think it'll help by setting a weight target? Setting a target certainly will be helpful, but dont be very particular on it. Your body might need some mass to achieve greater strength or lose weight. As long as you know you still performing strongly as you losing weight... then it should be OK. If you gaining weight, and see you cannot perform difficult bodyweight feat anymore, then you know you are too heavy. It is the former. The later is... urm, difficult to achieve in a timely manner... haha~
12% is 38% away from 50%, keep up the good work. If I am 100kg, I need to pull extra 50kg. Total weight is 150kg, 150%. This post has been edited by hoxy: Aug 4 2011, 07:45 PM |

This is my only second time successfully pulling myself up a little. Last time months ago, I managed to do it but dont record it. Injury happened and I was forced to back down. Today... I do it the second time, looking back at the record, I think I'm halfway already. Maybe I should try taking a chair and start from 90degree angle going up to understand what is my problem right now preventing me from full one arm chin up, I need to figure out my sticking point!
What to do when we are out of equipment and stranded outside without a pull up bar? We use the grill! haha! Enjoy my half one arm chin up (there is no kick from the ground at the bottom, no kipping either. reduced weight, no weight scale right now, still in fasting month). [attachmentid=2371499] [attachmentid=2371500] [attachmentid=2371501] BTW, @Alphaproject, you sure that is the same person, before and after? Totally different size altogether... congrats! So here we go. Been doing something different past few weeks. I'm trying my best to retain strength but it seems I'm still making PR's in some lifts. What I'm trying to do is to get the abs to come out more sharp and defined while maintaining lean muscle mass and strength. This is like a few weeks into a cutting phase, bear in mind I am NOT dieting, it's a casual cut. Supplement stacks have changed. Bear in mind it's only been a short while so I need more time to get more defined. It's new to me. I'm not naturally defined like lucky ba$tards such as John91 or Dan. I hope you 2 choke. >< Unfair!

QUOTE(van_takawa @ Aug 6 2011, 06:47 PM) Isn't that 6 packs, Brother Darklight? Y u claim that it's a 4 n half? I'm not sure how much I'm gonna lose. The moment my strength or stamina drops like a rock then I might consider stopping. The thing is I'm not really trying hard to get shredded. It's just cardio at the end of the workout. Post workout meal today was at a banana leaf restaurant consisting of 4 plates of rice, 3 fried ikan tenggiri and 2 chicken breasts and heaps of vegetables. Maybe if I did a caloric deficit it would be faster, who knows. But if I'm losing bf% at a slow yet constant rate, let's keep it that way. I'm not in a hurry to get shredded.Nice. So you are going to cut your waist into 29 or 28? |

darklight. nice can see some difinition in the abs. You will be really shred once you see the abs middle valley. If you cut further, will see veins in the abs area
For me cut is a b****. I just take about 120grams carb to get to see the definition Darklight you sure can eat a lot. Maybe thats how much a strong guy eat ... This post has been edited by kurtkob78: Aug 6 2011, 08:09 PM |

Dark, were you flexing in those pics? I think you'd get your 6-packs in no time lah. 3 days only can see some difference already.
Well, the way you're eating that much post-work is also a form of 'conditioning' lol. People often tell me just how much they can't eat more and I tell them that it takes time and that you've got to start by increasing the food portion slowly, day by day. Though, there's a bit of a force-feed thing going on there but not to the point of throwing up. |

QUOTE(MelForC3 @ Aug 12 2011, 09:07 AM) You'll get there. It's only a matter of time. Here's the formula I live by:-Food + more food + training + genetics + time = growth. QUOTE(emino @ Aug 12 2011, 09:37 AM) Exactly. QUOTE(Alphaproject @ Aug 12 2011, 10:08 AM) QUOTE(Mudkippz @ Aug 12 2011, 10:20 AM) Thanks Alpha and Mud, traps have always been a naturally gifted part of mine. I haven't worked them out in 3 weeks and if I do it's only 3-4 sets of shrugs. So I leave them alone most of the time. I read somewhere that if I develop them too much they give appearance of narrow shoulders? Not sure. QUOTE(moe81 @ Aug 12 2011, 10:46 AM) Ok la bro, so so only. Gimme few more weeks. Ok guys. Not good. I couldn't get the 120 pounders up today for dumbbell presses. And my joints are starting to show slight wear and tear. I'm gonna switch to a high rep moderate poundage phase for a while and see how it goes.
