PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PROCEED
10 Things You Should Know About UniFi

1. This service is a 24- month contract and a termination fee of RM500 is chargeable for termination of service within the contract period.

2. If your premises reside in high rise building served via copper, you must terminate your existing Streamyx service (if any).

3. Minimal drilling is required for fibre installation to the premise. You will be responsible for providing TV and 4-socket extension cord to complete the installation. No installation appointment will be made for premises under renovation.

4. All triple play services (internet, voice and TV) must be activated during service installation. Partial service activation is not allowed.

5. UniFi is a wired broadband service. Wireless connectivity is an option and is subject to interference and obstructions factor.

6. UniFi account owner or authorised contact person must be available during the service installation. For high rise premises, owners are required to make arrangement with Building Management Office for installation permission, internal cabling and access to telecommunication room.

7. Installation fee includes external cable entrance up to the internal wiring with maximum of 15 metres for fiber cable, 15 meters for Ethernet/phone cables and 30 metres for casing (raceway). Additional charges will be applied for cable more than 15 metres and 30 metres casing (raceway) and charges will be included in your UniFi bill.

8. For other non-standard installation e.g. wiring above ceiling, underground and conceal wiring, you may appoint your own contractor or deal directly with TM appointed contractor. Payment will be made directly to the contractor.

9. Please provide correct and valid Billing Address / Postal Address. Select either paper bill or e-mail bill (please provide valid and preferred e-mail address). Bill is also accessible at myUniFi (https://occ.unifi.my). TM may impose a minimal monthly charge for paper bill with notification given.

10. All UniFi equipment provided by TM is subject to 12 months warranty period.

IMPORTANT NOTES (MUST READ)

Internal Wiring
Minimal drilling is required for fibre installation to the premise to allow fibre cable entrance into the house. Internal concealed wiring will not be carried out by TM. However, customers can arrange their own or choose from TM’s authorised list of contractors at their own expense. TM shall propose the recommended list of contractor for the concealed wiring (wall or ceiling). As this is beyond the job scope of RNO, customer will deal and make payment directly to the contractor. Operationally, reappointment is to be arranged when the conceal wiring is completed. Customer is required to inform TM for installation appointment.
Premise currently under renovation
During installation day, TM will not proceed if the customer premise is under renovation unless insist by customer, TM will charge customer accordingly if request for other appointment time. Customers who are having their home renovated are advised to inform TM prior setting service installation appointment. TM shall not be responsible for any damages resulted from construction and renovation done by customer through third party during or after the installation.
Customer Unreachable and Change of Appointment
Premise inaccessibility or deferment of installation appointment upon the installation team’s arrival at a customer’s premise will be subject to a charge of RM100. Re-appointment will be subject to time slot availability.
High-Rise VDSL & FTTH
For high-rise (condos, apartment, office building) ,TM would require to access the MDF/SDF room to physically activate the port which normally locked by the Building Management/Maintenance. Therefore, customers are required to communicate and make arrangement with your Building Management/Maintenance Office to ensure someone is available to grant the access to TM UniFi Installer to MDF/SDF room during the installation time. Without the access to MDF/SDF room, installation cannot be performed and TM has to revisit which will incur unnecessary cost to customer.
In the case of copper wired building that uses VDSL2 technology, successful delivery of UniFi services is subject to technical testing. TM has the right to cancel the order should the building copper wire is deemed as not passing the technical test or not ready to deliver the service.

Installation Guide

From making an appointment to the signing-off of the Service Acceptance Form, here is a complete step-by-step process of how we bring UniFi into your home or office.

Step 1: Appointment

Appointment is made at the point of registration. You may choose your preferred date and time for UniFi installation but please note that installation for FTTx (Fibre to the Home or Office) is expected to take between 4-8 hours, and for VDSL2, 2-3 hours.

24 hours prior to the agreed installation date and time, the TM UniFi Centre will call you for a final confirmation. Our UniFi technician will also call you just before he goes to the agreed address of installation.

Step 2: Site Assessment

Upon arrival at your home or office, our technician will brief you on the step-by-step process of the entire installation. This includes:

(i) Site assessessment (outdoor and indoor)
(ii) Cable entrance (drilling point for FTTx)
(iii) Equipment termination point
(iv) Route of wiring

In the case of FTTx installation, our technician will determine the location of the Fibre Distribution Point (FDP), whether it is located on an overhead pole, or underground. If the underground fibre access is blocked due to any home or office renovation, it may require a longer installation period than for overhead fibre access installation.

For VDSL2, site assessment is much quicker since our technician need only access the building’s MDF room and perform the necessary cabling there.
Note: VDSL2 - your existing Streamyx or Business Broadband access will be disabled during this exercise.

Step 3: Installation

It's time to complete the installation process. As part of this process, some minimal drilling may be required. After laying the cables we will determine which modem is suitable for your home. Indoor installation requires more time as our technician needs to lay the internal fibre optic cable. Cables of sufficient length will be provided. However, in cases where additional cable lengths are required, some minimal charges will be incurred. To prevent unsightly wiring, wires and cables will be housed in proper casings.

However, if you wish it to be a drill-free installation, and if the fibre optic cables are required to be pulled through your home or office ceiling, we have a panel of contractors that you can work with, the costs of which will be borne by you.

VDSL2 does not require drilling since UniFi connection will come from the existing phone jack in your home or office. For this premise type, indoor installation requires minimal setup time.

Step 4: Equipment Setup

After laying all the cables, it’s time to connect the equipment. Our technician will first set up the BTU followed by Premise Gateway, Set-top-Box (for Residential package only) and DECT Phone. Once the equipment is tested and works properly, our technician will then show you that all the services are in working order.

Step 5: Completion

You are required to sign-off a Service Acceptance Form (SAF) as part of the process to complete the installation work. For a complete understanding of what TM UniFi service is, please read the terms and conditions in your service agreement.

Hmmm that was fast.... thanks sHawTY for keeping it going!

BTW...recently, my DL850L has weird behavior, the globe connection light turned orange, although I still had connections.

Had to hard reset and set everything back again.

Anyone encountered similar issue?

Is it normal my Hypptv STB got no playstore? Just install Unifi yesterday.

And I tried to login Iflix. Even though I entered the username and password correctly, it still said that it is wrong. Got no problem signing in with my phone or laptop.

Iflix on HyppTv box cannot work yet. I was complaining about this on iflix support for the past few days.
They said Unifi users have to sign in now if want to watch on PC and tablets and smartphones.

#TMAlerts Streamyx and UniFi users in and around Ampang may experience less than connectivity due to a cable cut affecting the performance of our network in the area.
Works to repair the damaged cable is currently underway and the team is working hard to get it done as quickly as possible.

It will come on and off. So if it's slow then use VPN. Luckily my main phone is not iPhone. Apps in my iPad can wait for a while to update. sweat.gif

Erm. We are not talking the same issue. I was referring to Apps Store slow download due to routing issue.

My speed was never throttled though. Always consistent.

Does it have a ram usage stat in the webgui? Check to see whether ram usage goes up but never comes down. An extreme example is torrent bcos of the number of connections it opens. You will see ram usage going up then when the torrent finish and connections are closed, the ram usage should go back down.

What package are you on now?
If VIP5, then may have to wait until June since VIP5 subscribers are paying the lowest fees.
I am on VIP5, I guess I can't demand for early upgrade.

I thought VIP5 users has already gone thru 1 free upgrade to VIP10 sometime last year? My brother's VIP5 is upgraded to VIP10 last year before the budget annoucement. Just not sure whether they will go thru another round of free upgrade again after annoucement.

Your brother was lucky to have his VIP5 upgraded free earlier. No more 2nd free upgrade.
There were many VIP5 not offered free upgrade earlier.
My VIP5 was subscribed last year March. Not yet one full year.

my area just have Unifi since early last year but was reluctant to change from Streamyx 8mbps coz new 2 years contract as I may be moving house end of this year. But after the free upgrade is announced and was informed that i can shift my Unifi to new location, i quickly sign up before CNY in Jan 2017.

Btw, those sign up online should get 1 month subscription free. Just got my first bill and confirm got 1 month discount. thumbup.gif But 1 month RM242.74 is a bit hard to swallow. Just hope that TM really slash the fee to half next year..... dreaming...???? sweat.gif

Not much we can do but be patient. I already have written confirmation that I'm eligible for the free 50m so not too worried.

To be honest, I'm using "60mbps" since last week and it's really not that big a difference from 30mbps when doing non-downloading stuff. Of course downloads will be twice as fast but other things same lah.

Is it normal my Hypptv STB got no playstore? Just install Unifi yesterday.

And I tried to login Iflix. Even though I entered the username and password correctly, it still said that it is wrong. Got no problem signing in with my phone or laptop.
*
I managed to get iflix to work on my HyppTv box (EC6108V8).
1. Connect your HyppTv box to your home wifi.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Go to Manage Applications
4. Go to Running Applications
5. Click on iflix icon
6. Click on Force Stop

Exit out and try log in with your email and password.

After done all the above, my log in screen changes.
With the old log in screen, I keep getting the error message.
Now no problem with log in.

Ahh, interesting. On mine I had the old iFlix login when I first opened the iFlix app. Right after I login, it said that an update is required. After the update, I got the new red background login screen. No probs after that.

I think my iflix apps was stuck/not updated.
That is why I have to Force Stop that apps and let it reload.

I managed to get iflix to work on my HyppTv box (EC6108V8).
1. Connect your HyppTv box to your home wifi.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Go to Manage Applications
4. Go to Running Applications
5. Click on iflix icon
6. Click on Force Stop

Exit out and try log in with your email and password.

After done all the above, my log in screen changes.
With the old log in screen, I keep getting the error message.
Now no problem with log in.

I had to clear data too.

Yeah, load balance 2 x UniFi30 on my router. Been meaning to do it for awhile. Something like this:

UniFi30#1 ------ RB2011(my router) ------ hAP Lite ---{wifi}--- Asus RT-N2D1(Neighbour) ------ UniFi30#2

More details here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=83909578

Not bad and quite stable considering one of the links is wireless.

Yes, neighbour knows about it.

Comtacted iflix people. They said to create new account as for now, the update to watch from STB is for new account. And they will transfer remaining subscription to the new account.

Our records show that you have signed up for UniFi/Streamyx after 31 December 2016. Check back with this website from 6 March 2017 to discover your surprise. Thank you!

I guess a lot of us had lodge complain on the so called free speed upgrade. Wondering what is next from TM on this surprise. mad.gif

The Unifi package is still not updated, the tm webpage is still showing price for 30mbps and 50mbps, i think they should start offering slower package at a more reasonable price so that more people would be able to benefit from it.

Last night was neighbour get-together night. Manage to get an update from my immediate neighbours.

Of the 8 houses around mine. 1 is unoccupied, 1 is on Streamyx, 1 dunno, 6 including me on UniFi 30. Not one of us has received an sms or email from TM re the free upgrade. However it's also possible that they did and ignored it. No one has been upgraded yet. Upon checking thankyousurprise page, all of us who checked received the same message. "Your UniFi will be upgraded from February 2017 onwards". All of us have subscribed for multiple years except one who subscribed mid 2016. Area is Bandar Sg Long.

Conclusion: still lots of people not upgraded yet.

Not sure tm got how many bandwidth, but for sure they're managed speed, it'll not congested.

Otherwise the speed assigned to that area is 1gbps and everybody take up over 1gbps then it'll caused congestion.

Not student. Actually not that many students in my part of Sg Long. Of the houses I mentioned only one is occupied by students. Along the whole road 1.5 of 10 houses are rented to students. The condos and apartments, however, are full of them.

Just installed Unifi, 30mbps package.

Speedtest looks good, 26-28mbps on my wireless PC.

What files and sites do you download to test the actual download speed on your computers? I was downloading a large file from GoogleDrive and the maximum speed I got was 3.13 MiB/s (using jDownloader).

Download a few well-seeded torrents, say any popular Linux distro. That saturates even a 100mbps link. Here I did a test on UniFiBiz 100 with Centos but Agents of SHIELD works well too.
user posted image
Tested on MacBook Pro on 5GHz AC to a stock RGX4400 but recommend you test with LAN to eliminate any wifi variables.

For single file, try jDownloader with maybe official Microsoft Win 10 ISO. Very fast servers.

its about 900k subscribers , and not all unifi subscribers eligible for free speed upgrade.

its not about waiting list , but i expect TM to let us know the ETA (date) to get the upgrade, not waiting blindly ...

TM just wait to get complaint from VIP20 user, pay higher compare other previous 30 user, slowest update...
they should give us update to 100 based on the price v pay

From now on, TM answer will be:

I haven't checked the UnifiPortal yet, you mean there's no way to know whether you're eligible for the upgrade?

Just installed Unifi, 30mbps package.

Speedtest looks good, 26-28mbps on my wireless PC.

What files and sites do you download to test the actual download speed on your computers? I was downloading a large file from GoogleDrive and the maximum speed I got was 3.13 MiB/s (using jDownloader).
*
Normally i use speedtest.net (Singapore M1 Server) or fast.com to do the speedtest.

Normally they will have it on the service order form but sometimes not.

You can try this: GUIDE: Recovering PPPoE Password from Router

Or call 100. They'll either read the password to you over the phone or send you an sms with a new password.

Did you get a RGX4400 or TPLink router? At least you didn't get the DIR-850L, that's probably the worst of the lot.

Only been on 3 websites so far, lowyat, mikrotik, facebook. All OK. IP 118.100

Which area? Is your IP changing every few mins? Maybe the PPPoE access concentrator (AC) got problem. You may see your PPPoE disconnecting and reconnecting every few mins. Like what happened to midvalley/bangsar a few days ago. My AC is BSRBGI02, I think that's Bangi.

No probs, but turning off hardware NAT also reduces the speed that your router can route at. 30mbps should be no prob. Dunno whether can go 50mbps without hw nat. Test and see.

You'll be getting the free upgrade. Just have to be patient and wait. You can create a service inquiry at MyTM or OCC to ask when. TM usually replies like this.
QUOTE
Upon checking in our system, we are glad to inform you that you are eligible for Free Upgrade from Unifi Advance 30mbps to Unifi Advance 50mbps.
Kindly be inform, customer will be upgrade by phase starting from February until June 2017. However, customer will be informed via E-mail, SMS or telephone prior to implementing the upgrade at their areas.

Most important is the bold part and to get it in writing.

I got the same message "Your UniFi will be upgraded from February 2017 onwards" when I checked on Feb 9.

I'd say wait. I think many many people will be upset and will complain. I'm sure TM will do something. Maybe it's just a tactic to scare those sitting on the fence. Let them sweat it out for a month or two and then offer the 30-50mbps at RM179 for a limited time again. Who knows?

Thinking of signing up with unifi but seems free upgrades are no more.  In this case maxis seems better because upload speeds are higher than unifi.
*
Maxis also more user complaints. They're using Unifi infra, so any Unifi connection/speed issue will also affect Maxis users, PLUS whatever issue caused by Maxis side of things.

For me, Maxis only worthwhile if you're also using their line for phone, as I think got some discounts here and there. Otherwise stick with Unifi for now.

Not really true.. Most connection/speed issue is to the international side (the one that effect all people). This is where the Unifi/Maxis already go separate way. Unless it's local connection issue which affect certain area than it's will effect both TM and Maxis.

But if it's local issue like you fiber problem expect double the headache coz Unifi will need to fix it.. You deal will Maxis but unifi technician will do the fix.

Thanks for sharing, fruitie.

Any idea if that person who received the upgrade had their BTU and/or router upgraded as well?
If that's the case, it would make sense why the 100mbps upgrades are taking more time (apart from the existing infra supporting those speeds)

i got upgraded to 50mbps from 30mbps. had to shutdown modem for 10 minutes before turning it back on, according to the received sms.

ran speedtest my results are...

local = 46/20

Us server west coast = 35 ish / 10-15 ish

tested on youtube 4k 60 fps seems watchable even when you skip in timeline for a quick preload to resumeplay.

haven't really extensively tested yet, but important thing is international speed is close to the promised speeds at least 80-90% to be considered acceptable.

if i'm not too particularly picky, yes the speed in actual usage is acceptable for my own usage. but considering the subscription fee, i would want them to be sure provide 80-90% of the stated speeds, otherwise they ought to charge me less accordingly :/

Noticed a few of you posted on the previous thread are experiencing slow download speeds after upgraded from 30Mbps -> 50Mbps. I had the same problem too and managed to solved it, maybe this might help you.

I received the 30Mbps->50Mbps upgraded SMS yesterday and checked my speed. Upload was 19Mbps but download was 27Mbps. Turned off and on all my devices but still getting the same results.

I called TM customer service and they reset the port but still same results. Also was told a few other callers have the same problem. So lodge report and technicians will have to check the physical ports and such.

Today the tech guys came to my house and checked the download speed direct with LAN cable was 47Mbps+, but wifi was under 28Mbps. They tried to change some of the router settings but no difference. So they concluded my original supplied router, DLINK DIR-615 can't handle the 50Mbps speed and told me I should replace it. One option was to pay them Rm53 for service charge, get a free router with 1 year warranty but my Unifi contract must be renewed for another 2 years. I told them I'll buy my own router.

After they left, I checked my router settings and noticed that the wireless mode setting was set for only '802.11 g/b'. I changed that to '802.11 n/g/b' and the speed test now showed my download was at least 47Mbps. Problem solved.

All these while my router was only connecting with Wireless g/b, which is limited up to 54Mbps speeds. Wireless n allows for 300Mbps so that now the router can handle the upgraded speed.

I did mention to the tech guys when they told me the router is too old, that it has wireless n so should be able to handle the speed upgrade, but they seemed clueless. So for those having less than 40Mbps after your account upgrade, check that your router is set to connect with wireless n or better, and that your PC, laptops, devices have wireless n capability too.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

When you upgrade your package? After the upgrade how much you pay monthly? With 100Mbps package the download speed should be 12MBps++ You can go to OCC to check for tour current package. https://occ.unifi.my/HSBBCustomerPortal/HSB...erPortal.portal

You should have upgraded from 20Mbps to 50Mbps plan. Then with the free upgrade scheme you would have been eligible for a upgrade to 100Mbps for free...

Hi Mel H,

When you get the black background, is the login prompt visible?
Last night I was playing around with the wifi and LAN cable connection, I got a black screen without any login prompt.
What I did was remove the LAN cable, power OFF the HyppTv box and ON it again. Connect to home wifi and can get back the iflix login screen.

Not sure if it is the same problem as you.

What's the link speed for the wifi connection on the device? Check this first and ensure no bottleneck. Can tweak and play around with new channels and 40mhz band to optimize around it.

If can get at least like 72mbps link speed, u should be getting decent speed for wifi.

Yup the login prompt is visible. I can put in my login detail and all. And one thing that I noticed is when I go to Date and time setting of my STB, it show a wrong date and time. Though I cant change it to the correct 1. The NTP address is the default 1. Been using wifi all the time as I cant use the LAN cable.

Have you tested HyppTv is working on wifi and on LAN cable?
Maybe you should call the installer to check.

Supposedly both wifi and LAN cable works fine. I can browse the internet via stb browser on wifi, and during the installation the installer did connect using LAN cable and works normally.

My friend (East Coast Manager) told me. But if you check Maxis website, the price stated is RM179 (that's the standard price) regardless maxis customers or not. Maybe need to chat or call Maxis customer service to verify this.

Just incase anyone like me can't wait bangwall.gif for the thank you surprise HyppTV Jumbo Pack free for 12 months starting February 2017, I had checked with TM and they said it'll start in phases and not from February 2017 which I thought it would.

I thought something wrong with my TV box. So had to patiently cry.gif wait for their activation message.

Getflix works well even with Netflix (always work if you open Netflix using browser) but problematic if using native Netflix player in smart tv(Last week it worked, but this week not working).

Lifetime fee now USD39 but you could get cheaper (USD25) if you wait patiently.

No probs here either. I'm on UniFi30. 20plus secs buffer. Not sure why I have so many dropped frames. The bitrate from Twitch is fairly low, shouldn't cause any probs.

Got lag a bit with some streams, like one @ 60FPS+720P, but another one @ 30FPS + 1080P, no lag at all. Also, I did notice it wasn't streaming at my full network speed(30MPBS) with the 60FPS stream, so lag I dunno why.

If you're using UniFi you shouldn't have the prompt for the username and password. It's automatically rerouted to the movie selection.
Try using https://piay.iflix.com

Iflix updated their login process.
Previously Unifi users were log in automatically even for the very first time.
Now, they want us to register your login with your email for the very first time.
They will link your email to the Unifi account.
Subsequently you will be log in automatically.
If got problem and they prompt you the log in screen, just log in with your email address and you will be in.
The email log in will link to your mobile number.
If your mobile number has been used before in Iflix, get Iflix Support to recover for you.

i got my 50mbps Unifi in Jan 2017 and just able to check the "surprise" on March 1 and was prompt "Your Unifi will be upgraded from February 2017 onwards".

I think it should be a mistake that some are getting the jumbo instead of free upgrade. You just follow up with TM again. But if for high rise then might be different story.

Just got the free upgrade from 30Mbps to 50Mbps. Area @ Cheras, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn

The connection seems a little strange on the latency and the upload. High latency to local servers compared before upgrade. (from less than 5ms before and now above 10ms)

Upload remain unchanged @ 10Mbps. Should I call TM to report on this issue?

If they took back the old one, then might be some issue with it. Cause I think I misplaced the old router.

Now I'm using Asus one. But the signal seems a bit weak on 2nd floor...

Yes, the 5 ghz offers faster speed, can reach almost max of 50 DL / 20 UL

But signal might not be as strong as the 2.4 GHZ.

sometimes in toilet, the 5 ghz only 1 bar but the 2.4 ghz still full bar

But the 2.4 ghz can still reach sometimes up to 40DL and 20 UL

All this based on 1 day of usage only.

its common wifi characteristic....

higher band signal able to carry data at higher speed....but the signal wavelength is shorter...hence shorter wifi signal distance.....

unless your router have removable antenna, u can install higher gain antenna to recover the distance loss....

Guys, just recheck again on 6 March 2017 for the surprise. Guess it still remain the same, either Webe or Jumbo pack.

I did have a chat on Live chat, they mentioned my area doesn't support 50Mbps. hmm.gif

Are they trying to twist and turn?

Yeah, I know.
I am using the internet alone most of the time. Not sure if spending the extra RM30 a month will satisfy me.
Moreover, Advance30/50 got no more free calls to TM numbers.

Guys, just recheck again on 6 March 2017 for the surprise. Guess it still remain the same, either Webe or Jumbo pack.

I did have a chat on Live chat, they mentioned my area doesn't support 50Mbps. hmm.gif

Are they trying to twist and turn?

I remember yours is RM 159 for 30Mbps isn't it? smile.gif
Once you have got your 50Mbps at RM 159, kindly inform here. I will make complaints to MCMC for TM's mistreatment. I want RM 159 too. biggrin.gif

I think they feel geram too coz so many customers call them every day to chase the upgrade. laugh.gif already told you all in stages from Feb to June 2017 you all still call and call and call...... tongue.gif

for those not yet get the upgrade, I think just sit back and relax, eventually will be your turn, why the hurry?

Of course for those getting the free HyppTV or Webe offer, better go chase or make noise if you are eligible for free upgrade.

one way to know is try go to tmpoint to make upgrade...sure can upgrade then can bring up to SKMM or court to sue them due to misleading facts...charge them under section 10 on Malaysian Consumer Protection Act...

Currently still on VIP5, waiting to be upgraded to Unifi 10.
Yeah, I know.
I am using the internet alone most of the time. Not sure if spending the extra RM30 a month will satisfy me.
Moreover, Advance30/50 got no more free calls to TM numbers.
*
i forgot already since when tm offer me free upgrade from vip5 to unifi10 last time.....more than a year if not mistaken...

so any reason why u still maintain vip5?

and latest now my 2nd line is automatically unifi30 at 2nd house...

I only subscribed to VIP5 last year March.
TM offered me Advance30 (RM179) without free calls.
I told them I need the free calls, so they offered me VIP5 with free calls.
I don't need to download 50GB files, so VIP5 is enough for me.

TM upgraded my speed from 30 - 50 mbps on last Friday. At first the speed is not very stable, hovering around 35-40. Tried port resetting and still the same result. sad.gif

TM make a report and the technician arrive today.

It turns out to be a router issue and the technician upgraded my router to a TP-LINK gigabit ac1200 router without extra charges since my router is still in warranty.

Also replaced my faulty motorola phone. I'm very pleased with the service. rclxms.gif

My area is Mutiara Tropicana which is in between Tropicana and BU 11. smile.gif

It takes much longer for landed property than high-rise and it depends on where you want to place your router.

They will lay the optical fibre from the pole or the drop point to your house then extend it to your location of choice (normally TV area).

May take up to 3 hours but normally should be 1 hour +

Unifi quite slow for this few days. Only got average 15 DL / 10 UP. ( Bukit Katil Melaka) 30MB package.

The "thank you surprise" told "Came back again later"

My billing on tm shop not updated yet but already got SMS confirmation so it's okay.

If the speed does not recover yet guess try to claim the rebate if I can or the rebate is only for breakdown service?

Yes Kodi . Kodi is better but need to spend time to DIY often.  biggrin.gif

Thats the part I didn't have time to deal with it often...

Nvm, just stick with my paid iptv service 1st...

I have Kodi, paid IPTV and free IPTV. Enough for me while I'm alone in PJ since I'm using the connection all by myself.

Never thought an Android box could be so helpful especially I'm now stranded in India. laugh.gif Luckily the connection in hotel just suffice for me to watch my box.

Anyway, please bring the relevant discussion to its supposedly thread.

Well, nobody wants to receive a C&D letter. Kodi and boxes are in a somewhat grey area. biggrin.gif

Well, we have Netflix, iFlix and there's dimsum recently. I will pay for better quality and effortless streaming rather than torrent. If something is not officially available in Malaysia, torrent it is. laugh.gif

You pay to purchase the hardware. The contents are complimentary but there is no warranty for how long you can watch them. Netflix / iFlix is more than enough nowadays. tongue.gif

I just got the Unifi 50mbps package installed end of Jan 2017 before CNY. maybe it is too late to say this now but it is always a good practice to write your password and stick it on the router. I always write down the admin and wifi password and stick it big big on the router. So I can set whatever long and super complicated password. laugh.gif

I am from Sabah and successfully activated my UNIFI with 30mbps in early February 2017. On 1st March 2017, I have check on surprise and been offered with Jumbo packs. I made complaint to TM via online chat and received a call a weeks later (yesterday) from TM Sadong Jaya informing that my unifi will be upgraded on 2nd batch of March 2017.

Anyone from Sabah received the same?

Anyone with 50 meg without free upgrade laugh.gif hmm.gif

Plan 2 take 50 meg after 5 years using 4 meg since steam games today took 100gb of downloading and that is absurd doh.gif rclxub.gif

I think the free upgrade promo is no longer available at the moment after Feb 28, 2017. You have missed the first train coz i believe it will be available again later.

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Mar 7 2017, 01:33 PM)
i got the same -  "Upgrade will be done from March 2017 onwards"  no selection at all.

so...should i re-check again ?
*
yes, of course you can check every day. biggrin.gif i did check whenever I am free. blush.gif

even if you got the "will be upgraded from july onwards" you have no other choice other than waiting. But I think they just put a longer timeline to be safe, actual upgrade will be sooner.

OK, I'll bite, what is mnph? mega nibbles per hour? If it is, it should be 45000mnph. If my math is correct.

maybe it is too late to say this now but it is always a good practice to write your password and stick it on the router.  I always write down the admin and wifi password and stick it big big on the router.  So I can set whatever long and super complicated password.  laugh.gif

ya la. my mistake. sweat.gif
i just stick the PPOE pssword and not the admin pssword
set a different admin pssword and now forgot what it is...

since you have the Unifi password then should be ok lah, just reset and set it up again. Not much setting to do inside the router actually.

Reporting my experience at my house at The Lake Residence, Puchong.

After having Unifi 30Mbps installed on 18/2, I really thought that I would get the free speed upgrade to 50Mbps. However, after having check the thankyousurprise microsite 2x on 2 different dates, I was not offered that upgrade, instead got the offer of either free Jumbo pack or Webe sub. I have also engaged their CS via TM Chat, and still no joy. Reason given was that my area has "technical limitation" and it is clearly stated in their TnC that is a valid reason for not offering the speed upgrade. cry.gif

I am so disappointed learning that. Just wondering if anyone else at my taman is experiencing the same thing? Does anyone else also have installed 50Mbps at my taman?

Have you tried apply for 50mbps package for the same roll of your house? I actually tried "apply" for 100mbps before I apply for 50mbps package to be upgraded to 100mbps. But of course i am not sure whether this is an accurate way of testing it out. tongue.gif

I remember there was one guy mentioning some time back that he will make complaint after 1 year of HyppTV usage and request TM to remove it. No news after that.

Oh well. Tough luck but worth trying.

Means not enough ppl in your area want to subscribe.

TM wants more ppl to subscribe before committing to install unifi

Maybe it's cos they want more people to take up before they increase port.

One port may be can take say only 50 ppl but maybe only 5 ppl request so far.

Since there is no competition, no choice but to wait.

Unless you go for wireless broadband

That area also seems to be Maxis area, but Maxis side ran out of allocated port from TM, so they have to beg from TM for more. At least that's what I was told by Maxis. memang no competition like that. Sigh.

I noticed wireless broadband now no more unlimited quota huh? Most is 50gb per month by digi.

How about Streamyx, port shouldn't be a problem for streamyx, like unifi, right?
