QUOTE(soonwai @ Mar 3 2017, 12:08 PM) Last night was neighbour get-together night. Manage to get an update from my immediate neighbours. Of the 8 houses around mine. 1 is unoccupied, 1 is on Streamyx, 1 dunno, 6 including me on UniFi 30. Not one of us has received an sms or email from TM re the free upgrade. However it's also possible that they did and ignored it. No one has been upgraded yet. Upon checking thankyousurprise page, all of us who checked received the same message. "Your UniFi will be upgraded from February 2017 onwards". All of us have subscribed for multiple years except one who subscribed mid 2016. Area is Bandar Sg Long. Conclusion: still lots of people not upgraded yet. Sg Long, you student ah? 6/8 houses on UniFi, imagine the congestion when all upgrade.

QUOTE(ceras @ Mar 3 2017, 10:35 PM) Thinking of signing up with unifi but seems free upgrades are no more. In this case maxis seems better because upload speeds are higher than unifi. Maxis also more user complaints. They're using Unifi infra, so any Unifi connection/speed issue will also affect Maxis users, PLUS whatever issue caused by Maxis side of things. For me, Maxis only worthwhile if you're also using their line for phone, as I think got some discounts here and there. Otherwise stick with Unifi for now.

As soon as got confirmed Unifi Lite I will complain to MCMC. Just like the previous Pro customers, why should I pay more for same service as newer subscriber (I'm unifi holder for 4+ years). Even if take away free calls etc. I don't mind.

QUOTE(Criss Malvory @ Mar 27 2017, 04:47 PM) If this digi is really unlimited data and also same speed as unifi, i might consider in getting it Speed is relative. When connection is good, wireless broadband can be even better than unifi, but the big benefit of fibre is how the connectivity doesn't depend so much on weather or localized congestion. Also ping (if you game) typically worse. That said, in exchange you get to use your connection anywhere vs just in one property. Bring it to your office (if no-one is at home during the day), bring it travelling, etc. Most of us have unifi at home and still pay for some amount of data on our phones anyway. That's savings right there.

QUOTE(Chriss @ Apr 17 2017, 11:03 AM) Wan & lan can get 90+ mbps. prob is my laptop is at downstairs Invest in long lan cable, not very expensive. The expensive thing is hiding it if you/your family don't like the look of the cable running along the wall.

QUOTE(Chriss @ Apr 17 2017, 11:57 AM) Thats the reason why still connected via wifi.Need to stay connected via wifi for another 1-2yrs more Thanks bro! There's always creative ways to get around that. Drill small hole here and there. Costs money (unless you got the expertise to do yourself). Run behind furniture, or outside the window....

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 21 2017, 12:51 PM) Heard from my wife who heard it from her sister Macam itu punya story where got any basis one? Previous upgrade offers have had that clause, and it will be stated in black and white (I think when they were upgrading people from 149 to 179 etc.). Current free upgrade no such change.

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 21 2017, 02:22 PM) My wife's sister has her Unifi upgraded and that is what she found. So ...? As I said, there was an upgrade exercise previously where CS would call and offer an upgrade (including pay more). Mostly for RM149 customers were offered RM179 or RM169 to upgrade from 5 to 10 MBps. Some of those customers, as part of terms of the upgrade, the free calls were removed. That's not the case for the current free upgrade (where no-one calls you, it's just claimed from their website).

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 2 2017, 12:47 AM) I always stick to channel 11, works the best for me. That depends on the local situation (what other wifi around user is using). And if Channel 10 is congested, Channel 11 likely congested as well, a lot of people default to 1, 6, 11.
