QUOTE(cskean @ Mar 6 2017, 03:40 PM) If they took back the old one, then might be some issue with it. Cause I think I misplaced the old router. What is the model is it. Now I'm using Asus one. But the signal seems a bit weak on 2nd floor... Does it have external antenna Was told the ASUS AC55UHP is a good router This post has been edited by cfa28: Mar 6 2017, 03:42 PM |

QUOTE(cskean @ Mar 6 2017, 03:52 PM) Yes, the 5 ghz offers faster speed, can reach almost max of 50 DL / 20 ULBut signal might not be as strong as the 2.4 GHZ. sometimes in toilet, the 5 ghz only 1 bar but the 2.4 ghz still full bar But the 2.4 ghz can still reach sometimes up to 40DL and 20 UL All this based on 1 day of usage only. |

QUOTE(cucubud @ Mar 6 2017, 04:12 PM) I have tested 2.4GHz and 5GHz in Singapore. My wet dream, 300 mps2.4GHz can get speed up to 90Mbps and 5GHz can get speed up to 300Mbps. 2.4GHz [attachmentid=8557967] 5GHz [attachmentid=8557968] On the speed difference, let me check again later tonight This post has been edited by cfa28: Mar 6 2017, 04:29 PM |

QUOTE(shernshen @ Mar 6 2017, 06:02 PM) TM upgraded my speed from 30 - 50 mbps on last Friday. At first the speed is not very stable, hovering around 35-40. Tried port resetting and still the same result. Honestly, I find that TM had increased their level of service by quite a lot. TM make a report and the technician arrive today. It turns out to be a router issue and the technician upgraded my router to a TP-LINK gigabit ac1200 router without extra charges since my router is still in warranty. Also replaced my faulty motorola phone. I'm very pleased with the service. My area is Mutiara Tropicana which is in between Tropicana and BU 11. But of course, you can't please everyone. |

QUOTE(Cynox @ Mar 7 2017, 09:10 AM) Just received sms that my Unifi credit limit has been adjusted to RM941, previously was RM630. Sign of impending upgrade from 50mbps to 100mbps? Yes, you can try to off and on your router to see if the upgrade had taken effect Else wait few more days for second sms |

QUOTE(ChocChristy @ Mar 8 2017, 09:36 AM) A bit ridiculous since most of the other houses have unifi already. Sigh. They said it will take 5-7 days. Port full konon. Maybe it's cos they want more people to take up before they increase port. One port may be can take say only 50 ppl but maybe only 5 ppl request so far. Since there is no competition, no choice but to wait. Unless you go for wireless broadband |

5 ghz is faster but signals lose strength faster as you move further from the router
2.4 ghz is slower but signals is stronger over longer distances This is my layman findings after less than a week of usage Please post your speed test |

Call TM to change router.
Are u eligible for the free speed upgrade Your contract might be renewed but hey, you're not going to change providers anyway, save cost instead of buying a new router. Request for router with external antenna. Seems TM is giving out the TP Link AC1200 |

QUOTE(JusticeDeserves @ Mar 10 2017, 08:13 PM) Hey guys, can I ask what are you guys paying total for Unifi 50Mbps and also Unifi 100Mbps? also let me know if you're taking any Hypptv stuff As everyone else is saying, your package is super expensive. I'm curious cus my bill is RM381 with 20Mbps and Jumbo+Vaneka pack. Thanks You should ask for speed upgrade, else cancel your current account and apply for next adv 50 mbps account or even provide 100 with jumbo pack only and it's probably still cheaper. I was upgraded to from adv 30 package to adv 50 package Paying rm149 for Unifi and rm60 for jumbo packages.. Total RM209 and less RM2 for auto debit. All prices before GST This post has been edited by cfa28: Mar 11 2017, 09:00 AM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Mar 13 2017, 08:13 PM) I only interested with RM179 (instead of RM199) + half price cut within 2 years + speed upgrade to 50Mbps + fiber cabling the phone pole, otherwise, I won't even bother with unifi at all for my second house. Thought RM179 is still available. Its like the Webe promotional price, always extend. Don't think there will be half price cuts within 2 years cos government needs TM to make more money and pay more taxes and dividends back to government |

Which server connect to when speed speed test ?? I'm from kedah.. Thanks. Choose the server nearest to you, somewhere in the northern region For Unifi using Lan, the ping should be single digits imho |

The 5g is the 5ghz signal which offers faster WiFi connection but distance cannot go very far
The other one is 2.4GHz, WiFi signal can go further bit speed is slower compared to the 5 ghz |

QUOTE(topeng perak @ Mar 14 2017, 01:15 PM) Yup 30Mbps won't feel any difference with 2.4 or 5ghz. Only can difference once you have higher speed like 100Mbps or more. Can already feel the difference when using 50 mbps. My 2.4ghz gives average at 37 mbps if same floor as router. only if I am next to the router, it reach about 42 mbps but for 5 ghz, even different floor , I can get average to 47mbps. If I use 2.4 ghz, different levels, will struggle to hit pass 30 mbps. |
