There are some rumors about UniFi VIP 10Mb/s for RM129 but it's not launched yet. No ETA either
*

Unifi Lite?
*
UniFi 10Mbps RM 129 is just a rename old VIP 10 with the discount of RM70.It comes with 10Mbps download 10 Mbps upload speed while the new UniFi "Lite" with unknown price just comes with 5Mbps upload speed.

QUOTE(cfa28 @ Mar 16 2017, 08:28 AM)
Rm249 all inclusive of your hypptv packages
*
I think I have stated it before, if you're VIP20 paying RM249 better upgrade to UniFi Advance Plus 50Mbps with the same price (219+30) , therefore when speed upgrade comes u get free 100Mbps.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Mar 15 2017, 04:11 PM)
I did, receptionist showed to me of my registration detail where I am subscribing to standard promo RM179 30Mbps (not the fabled MU promo package. She showed me the list of available packages) and she even asked her manager ; both insisted my particular package will not be upgraded to 50Mbps.
I even asked if they can change my package to MU promo package and they said cannot. bye.gif

My original plan is to split dedicated 20mbps to my neighbour and 30mbps for me where my neighbour will pay RM 80 while I pay the remainder.
If I can only get the 30mbps package, my neighbour for my second house will not agree with the proposal.
I am so dead if I am forced to pay RM189.70 on my own for second UniFI account with total RM379.50 (after GST)mega_shok.gif  for two UniFi accounts.
Nothing I can do. I am starting to look like a stalker after calling the agent number 9 times throughout today.
*
Calling agent is useless, they just want the commission.

I hope no one ever call you to confirm the appointment yet. Make a call to 100, select whatever option for UniFi and give your IC number to the CS.

Say that u already place an order for UniFi installation and you have changed your mind not to proceed with the order.

They can cancel the order is the order is still in processing mode with no penalty fee.

I understand what you are saying.

I just wanted to know if your 249 includes hypptv cos last time adv 50 was 179 + 50 = 229 which included the Ruby or some other packages.

Just try to understand tm multiple tier pricing out there cause some to be happy and some to be unhappy
*
if someone enjoying 229 for UniFi Advance Plus;

UniFi 50 = RM219
HyppTV Pack = RM30/RM40/RM60
Discount = -RM20,-RM30-RM70

Total = RM229/RM229/RM259 or lesser

confusing izzit ? but that's the way right now.

– Bernama

so we gonna have multiple ISP companies without the need of own backhaul ? i think so.

QUOTE(antwebty @ Mar 25 2017, 11:36 AM)
Finally they are following Singapore's NGNBN model with 3 tiers.

1)Passive Infrastructure
1st tier is now being handled by neutral TNB who isn't involved with ISP businesses.
TNB will only lay dark fibres which they lease to anyone interested as long as they have spare cores available for backhaul.

2)Active Network Providers
These are companies which set up their own switching equipments, DSLAMs, OLTs, BGP core routers, and gateways
Example of such active networks we have today are TM's HSBB, Maxis's NGBB, Time Fibre, Symphonet, DiGi and Umobile.

3)Retail Service Providers (RSP) or "Perkhidmatan Runchit"
These are ISPs who rent bandwidth or buy wholesale services from network providers/active wholesale segments to provide last mile itnernet services to consumers.

The good thing is that now all other ISPs such as Time no longer needs to be forced to leased whole packages from TM Wholesale.

They only need to lease dark fibre from TNB and then spent for last mile equipment to potential markets they want to serve.

i hope price wars are incoming when all the infra are ready.

Why tnb?
Tnb just burn the money or can make profit?

Tier 2 companies will pay TNB for renting the fiber.

This UniFi Lite is ready for service for all UniFi area regardless of FTTH or VDSL.The only question will TM sell this package to the public or targeted customers only? Or will it only open to VDSL area under HSBB?

Then we have the Streamyx area. For those who want to enjoy UniFi Lite in Streamyx area, that area must support VDSL equipment at the main office. If the area is supported then it will fall under SUBB area.

The main differences with the old VIP 10 are

1)Upload speed is only 5 Mbps
2)No STB for customer
3)No DECT Phone
4)No IPTV service by default replaced by OTT app
5)It is cheaper than old VIP5 retail price RM149 and MaxisONE Home 10Mbps RM139 and Streamyx BB Deal 2 Mbps RM130.

But this UniFi Lite still comes with telephony service. To enjoy HyppTV offerings, one need to use the HyppTV Everywhere apps.

If TM made mandatory to buy this UniFi Lite with HyppTV pack, then this offer is not really worth coz it is troublesome to enjoy HyppTV Pack with OTT apps.

Analysing TM behaviour to customers from past experience, it is expected they will change the treatment if many customers complaint about this.

I found a good solution for my UniFi. Instead of terminating it when the contract ends, I have decided to relocate it to my sister's house once UniFi is activated in her street.

Well, the thing is I have used the free quota for first relocation, so this is my second relocation and I have to pay RM 300. Gotta sweet talk with my sister to co-share this part. tongue.gif If she takes up my UniFi, she will have my good deal, RM 179 for 50Mbps. laugh.gif Plus my contract is ending in less than 6 months time, so she doesn't need to go through another round of 24 months contract. laugh.gif Also, I will give her my Huawei WS880. brows.gif

My question to you guys, hoping someone will know how to answer... Can I change the ownership at the same time when I relocate to her house? Or it has to be my name until the contract ends and then only I initiate ownership transfer to my sister? Thanks. notworthy.gif

If nobody knows, I will call TM CS later in the morning. Just bought a LTE-A MiFi and I will register Digi Infinite 150 soon. UniFi is good for me but too bad I travel too much and it is a waste to me. sad.gif

Relocate first then transfer ownership.Less headache.

Yeah. We are being shortchanged.
We were suppose to be upgraded to Unifi10, but were given Unifi Lite 10.
*
TM should communicate clearly during the free upgrade check so that customers don't think they are being cheated.

For TM side, actually they only have UniFi Lite 10 and there's no such thing as UniFi 10 Plan.

VIP 5,VIP 10,VIP 20 = First plans introduced to customer with symmetrical speed download and upload. Now already decommission.

UniFi Lite 10,Advance 30,Advanced Plus 50,Pro 100 = New plans to replace VIP plan.Come with asymmetrical download and upload speed.

Under the free upgrade programme, all eligible customer will be getting the new plan.

If you don't believe me, go make a report to SKMM, and believe this is what they replied it to you.

existing customer cannot change to UniFi Lite 10 rite? such as from Advance 30.
*
Direct downgrade is not allowed. You need to terminate the old one and install a new one.

The question is will TM allow you to install one if the infra is available? This is more to business question rather than technical

Previously it's RM199 for 30Mbps +one cheapest HyppTV package+voice call package and now it's without voice call package so technically it's more expensive.
*
nop, previously it still RM 199 but with RM 20 discounts

(UniFi 30 RM169 - Discount RM 20)+ HyppTV Pack RM 30 + Voice STD 20 RM20 = RM199
