QUOTE(mztang52 @ Apr 13 2017, 09:20 AM) I think they will only give you C1200. Because C7 is still new. Not many installers have it on their hand. Unless you got request then only they will go to warehouse and take. I am using Archer C7. UniFi 50 Mbps here. The C7 i bought by myself after tm refuse to upgrade my old L7 router to c5 due to the warranty finish already. We paying them monthly and they don't even bother to change the equipment as the package increases. My old Asus RT-N14UHP shows signs of dying and I've to rely on the L7 router where the speed drops dramatically. Finally, opt to buy archer c7 by myself. |

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Apr 15 2017, 08:11 PM) Today I got TM technician to come to replace my L7 to AC1200 for the charge of RM53 because of warranty already expired. As far as I concern, we paying them monthly, they cannot charge us any $$ since it is their duty to replace any equipment if the user decides to upgrade their packages. Even I am using the first edition of Hypptv box until now since tm is refusing to change (buy new one from them). I know they will charge rm53 for on-site visit, but the equipment is theirs. So why would they charge us? But I am tie down to 2 years contract with 1 year product warranty... |

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Apr 16 2017, 06:53 AM) No need bro. Because we buy from them. Unless we swap the router. However, I prefer to use my own router. Haha. How and Why You Should Replace Your ISP's Router This post has been edited by Jjuggler: Apr 16 2017, 02:51 PM |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 16 2017, 02:50 PM) Do you mean C1200? There's no TP-Link model named AC1200. My friend, there is.Haven't tried on C1200 but normally can. You can connect a USB hub for multiple USB devices. Better use a powered hub in case not enough current from the C1200 USB port. For example, I have a 16GB flash drive and a Huawei 3G modem connected to a hub and on to my Mikrotik router. QUOTE(jusbella @ Apr 16 2017, 02:56 PM) AC1200 is Archer C5 (2 antenna) Archer C50 = Dual Band RouterC1200 ia Archer C1200 (3 antenna) Both is same, only 1 more antenna added. Archer C5 = Dual Band Gigabit router. QUOTE(mztang52 @ Apr 16 2017, 02:56 PM) The C1200 that I swapped with TM is not performing as good as I expected. It has a severe WiFi connection issue. My friend, my recommendation is, get your own router. Invest some money to get good quality router. |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 16 2017, 03:03 PM) My apologies, I didn't know that the Archer C5 is also known as the AC1200. Thanks for the information. My friend, Even I also google up the information on the c5 router. Haha. So it is nice to share the information between individuals.QUOTE(mztang52 @ Apr 16 2017, 03:04 PM) You can opt for TP Link router. I am using C7 with stock firmware. And it works well from the day I bought till now. You can opt for a single band routers. |

QUOTE(Ben Ling @ May 7 2017, 12:45 PM) Guys, I'm having random disconnect sometimes when I am on the 2nd floor ( my house is double storey ) and the modem/router was set up on ground floor Buy a new dual band router such as from Asus brand or tp link brand. Preferable brand, Asus.Right now I'm using TM's DIR-850L router which has no antenna band so any recommended one to replace it ? Using Unifi Advance 30 btw thanks. |

QUOTE(Ben Ling @ May 7 2017, 02:46 PM) Personally, I am using TP-Link Archer C7 (own router). Bought it for rm499 at challenger. Before this, i am using asus rt-n14uhp router for 3 years before it went kaput. Haha. Testing the tplink router for time being before switch back to asus in future. so give a try on a affordable router before you opt for a costly router that values your money. |
