i'm facing a really REALLY slow net speed, and i wonder why

Only been on 3 websites so far, lowyat, mikrotik, facebook. All OK. IP 118.100 Which area? Is your IP changing every few mins? Maybe the PPPoE access concentrator (AC) got problem. You may see your PPPoE disconnecting and reconnecting every few mins. Like what happened to midvalley/bangsar a few days ago. My AC is BSRBGI02, I think that's Bangi.

After you filled in your address, it will show you the packages that are available at your place. If it shows you the 50Mbps package, then u can ask TM to upgrade you to 50Mbps.

This is my best speed test after the tm surprise upgrade. I am using dir850 by the way. Can this router fully support 50mbps?

Generally speaking and in ideal situations, no. But under certain circumstances, it makes a marked difference. Speedtests below shows the difference between 2.4 & 5GHz in a rather congested wifi environment. It would have made a difference even if you're on VIP20.

To my surprise, recently acquired Archer C1200 performs really well beyond my expectations. Even 5Ghz channel penetrates well to my extended kitchen on ground floor though the router is located on the 1st floor, and there are multiple concrete walls and floors in between. 
Should I say more for the 2.4Ghz?

Depends on your criteria. All 3 can route 100mbps. My favourite is the RGX4400. The DIR-850L is my least favourite mainly due to the damn slow webgui. The Archer C5, I haven't used much yet. Note that I don't use any of them at home but at coffee shops so I can't say much about the wifi performance in a home setting.

Depending, if router still under warranty (below 1 year) they will replace it if faulty. Otherwise, u can opt to renew contract 12 months and they replace the router free of charge.
