PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PROCEED
10 Things You Should Know About UniFi

1. This service is a 24- month contract and a termination fee of RM500 is chargeable for termination of service within the contract period.

2. If your premises reside in high rise building served via copper, you must terminate your existing Streamyx service (if any).

3. Minimal drilling is required for fibre installation to the premise. You will be responsible for providing TV and 4-socket extension cord to complete the installation. No installation appointment will be made for premises under renovation.

4. All triple play services (internet, voice and TV) must be activated during service installation. Partial service activation is not allowed.

5. UniFi is a wired broadband service. Wireless connectivity is an option and is subject to interference and obstructions factor.

6. UniFi account owner or authorised contact person must be available during the service installation. For high rise premises, owners are required to make arrangement with Building Management Office for installation permission, internal cabling and access to telecommunication room.

7. Installation fee includes external cable entrance up to the internal wiring with maximum of 15 metres for fiber cable, 15 meters for Ethernet/phone cables and 30 metres for casing (raceway). Additional charges will be applied for cable more than 15 metres and 30 metres casing (raceway) and charges will be included in your UniFi bill.

8. For other non-standard installation e.g. wiring above ceiling, underground and conceal wiring, you may appoint your own contractor or deal directly with TM appointed contractor. Payment will be made directly to the contractor.

9. Please provide correct and valid Billing Address / Postal Address. Select either paper bill or e-mail bill (please provide valid and preferred e-mail address). Bill is also accessible at myUniFi (https://occ.unifi.my). TM may impose a minimal monthly charge for paper bill with notification given.

10. All UniFi equipment provided by TM is subject to 12 months warranty period.

IMPORTANT NOTES (MUST READ)

Internal Wiring
Minimal drilling is required for fibre installation to the premise to allow fibre cable entrance into the house. Internal concealed wiring will not be carried out by TM. However, customers can arrange their own or choose from TM’s authorised list of contractors at their own expense. TM shall propose the recommended list of contractor for the concealed wiring (wall or ceiling). As this is beyond the job scope of RNO, customer will deal and make payment directly to the contractor. Operationally, reappointment is to be arranged when the conceal wiring is completed. Customer is required to inform TM for installation appointment.
Premise currently under renovation
During installation day, TM will not proceed if the customer premise is under renovation unless insist by customer, TM will charge customer accordingly if request for other appointment time. Customers who are having their home renovated are advised to inform TM prior setting service installation appointment. TM shall not be responsible for any damages resulted from construction and renovation done by customer through third party during or after the installation.
Customer Unreachable and Change of Appointment
Premise inaccessibility or deferment of installation appointment upon the installation team’s arrival at a customer’s premise will be subject to a charge of RM100. Re-appointment will be subject to time slot availability.
High-Rise VDSL & FTTH
For high-rise (condos, apartment, office building) ,TM would require to access the MDF/SDF room to physically activate the port which normally locked by the Building Management/Maintenance. Therefore, customers are required to communicate and make arrangement with your Building Management/Maintenance Office to ensure someone is available to grant the access to TM UniFi Installer to MDF/SDF room during the installation time. Without the access to MDF/SDF room, installation cannot be performed and TM has to revisit which will incur unnecessary cost to customer.
In the case of copper wired building that uses VDSL2 technology, successful delivery of UniFi services is subject to technical testing. TM has the right to cancel the order should the building copper wire is deemed as not passing the technical test or not ready to deliver the service.

Installation Guide

From making an appointment to the signing-off of the Service Acceptance Form, here is a complete step-by-step process of how we bring UniFi into your home or office.

Step 1: Appointment

Appointment is made at the point of registration. You may choose your preferred date and time for UniFi installation but please note that installation for FTTx (Fibre to the Home or Office) is expected to take between 4-8 hours, and for VDSL2, 2-3 hours.

24 hours prior to the agreed installation date and time, the TM UniFi Centre will call you for a final confirmation. Our UniFi technician will also call you just before he goes to the agreed address of installation.

Step 2: Site Assessment

Upon arrival at your home or office, our technician will brief you on the step-by-step process of the entire installation. This includes:

(i) Site assessessment (outdoor and indoor)
(ii) Cable entrance (drilling point for FTTx)
(iii) Equipment termination point
(iv) Route of wiring

In the case of FTTx installation, our technician will determine the location of the Fibre Distribution Point (FDP), whether it is located on an overhead pole, or underground. If the underground fibre access is blocked due to any home or office renovation, it may require a longer installation period than for overhead fibre access installation.

For VDSL2, site assessment is much quicker since our technician need only access the building’s MDF room and perform the necessary cabling there.
Note: VDSL2 - your existing Streamyx or Business Broadband access will be disabled during this exercise.

Step 3: Installation

It's time to complete the installation process. As part of this process, some minimal drilling may be required. After laying the cables we will determine which modem is suitable for your home. Indoor installation requires more time as our technician needs to lay the internal fibre optic cable. Cables of sufficient length will be provided. However, in cases where additional cable lengths are required, some minimal charges will be incurred. To prevent unsightly wiring, wires and cables will be housed in proper casings.

However, if you wish it to be a drill-free installation, and if the fibre optic cables are required to be pulled through your home or office ceiling, we have a panel of contractors that you can work with, the costs of which will be borne by you.

VDSL2 does not require drilling since UniFi connection will come from the existing phone jack in your home or office. For this premise type, indoor installation requires minimal setup time.

Step 4: Equipment Setup

After laying all the cables, it’s time to connect the equipment. Our technician will first set up the BTU followed by Premise Gateway, Set-top-Box (for Residential package only) and DECT Phone. Once the equipment is tested and works properly, our technician will then show you that all the services are in working order.

Step 5: Completion

You are required to sign-off a Service Acceptance Form (SAF) as part of the process to complete the installation work. For a complete understanding of what TM UniFi service is, please read the terms and conditions in your service agreement.

Yes. Their mistake from the beginning. If they start to standardize it, two group of people will have such consquence:
i) Paying lower than advertised price, after standardized will pay more = Rage and complain to MCMC
ii) Paying higher than advertised price, after standardized will pay lesser = Happy ending

But if they are not doing anything for group (ii), they will be in trouble too.

Hoping TM will revised their Unifi 100Mbps to RM 199 just like Time is giving out cheaper for 300Mbps [RM189] to 500Mbps [RM299]

they just need to adjust the price to a standart prize, if the lowest they offered is 179.00 so the people who pay 199 will be revert back to 179.00 but free call will be excluded. same with others package. don't do discount instead offered additional package or add ons. for example early bird will need to pay 179 free upgrade jumbo pack/free call package, and people subscribe out from promotion period will need to pay 179 but without free add ons. The price it self need to fix, and if they want to give discount give discount to all...don't select this or that.

no they wont for the time being. they only do it if they got pressure from super-duper person at the top .

The email mentioned from January to June 2017 depending on your area.
Even though you registered on the first day, your area might be scheduled for the upgrade in June.

That's email. I meant after it confirms your free upgrade, it does show a date if I'm not mistaken.

Yupp. That's the only notification I have.
The free speed upgrade will be implemented in stages from January to June 2017 depending on your location subject to technical rediness.
No other notification in my mailbox from them.

Wondering in my head on this ....

How much spare capacity has TM got in their current Unifi system?

More than 50% spare capacity?

~ 10% spare capacity?

Asking as with the free upgrade, will that be beneficial to Unifi users, as if it is only 10% spare capacity, then we will all be fighting each other when we go online. If with lots of spare capacity, then we gain from the upgrade.

They got no spare capacity, in fact just like every other broadband provider they oversell.

Which is fine, because whether you get 5MB or 100MB line, your usage pattern still likely similar. No-one uses the full speed all of the time.

They should have more than sufficient bandwidth to cope. Even at 100Mbps it is still relative low bandwidth for today standard. Most importantly, despite the upgrade of bandwidth, more than 80% of users are still casual users which they do not do heavy download 24x7. So overall the bandwidth will have no prob to cope for all users even all are online at least the same time.

Worst case scenario they can easily throttle the bandwidth for torrent to cap the download speed.

Hi all,

I'm living in a condo which was done (VP) by 2014. The only option i have is VDSL2 installation (copper wiring & MDF room). the technician said that I can't be upgraded to 50mbps (currently subscribed for Uni Andv 30mbps) due to the condo doesn't have fibre optics connections. I'm devastated as I do not get to enjoy any privileges (T_T). Has anyone opt for pulling fibre wires for their own condo units? i do know that the charges are exorbitantly expensive. thank you.

as i know they are using ratio instead of capacity. during stimix era

unifi not sure.

btw why worry about their capacity? going out of local to international link is pretty fked up.

the promoted speed is good for locally only and not international.

"all" highrise in malaysia is using VDSL2 and there is no alternative.

since you are on highrise why not go and have a check on TIME fibre?

btw...you have answered your own question too laugh.gif .

charges is 1 thing and getting approval from your condo management is another thing.

TIME fibre was proposed and approved with condo management but no actions nor word of TIME coming in. Hence i opt to get UNIFI instead of waiting til no end.

oh well..i guess that i'll have to deal with 30mbps while everyone else gloats with their free upgrade (T_T)

I stay in condo, so looks like no free upgrade to 50Mbps for me. sad.gif

When on 25 Jan, if they offer me HyppTV package, KFC dinner plate vouchers etc... can I refuse to accept?

Because once I accept, if later they decided to lower the price, I'm afraid I will not get to enjoy it again because already taken up last offer.

but does anyone know if the RM179 offer only for temporary? say Rm179 for 1 year then revert to RM199 after that.

No one can really tell u. If u think price Ok, then just subscribe it now. RM179 will enjoy 50mb during upgrade promotion. After promotion, may be just RM179 for 30mb. U do the calculation n judge urself.

I've read an article somewhere that they can still reduce the price and force a bundle. Just like how the 30mbps is priced at RM149 and then they force a minimum RM30 HyppTV bundle to make it RM179.

I think free upgrade to double the speed also sound like fairy tale before the Budget announcement. icon_idea.gif

Of course I am also quite skeptical about the price cut coz it will hurt their profit and cashflow. Free upgrade doesn't seems so bad coz they still got the same amount of money.

Not from the email. If you have read thoroughly when checking out the Surprise page, after it shows your free surprises, after you agree or something you will see the batch. I can't remember which part is it but I remembered quite well that I have seen mine is 31st January. Too bad I have no more UniFi account to try.

That date is irrelevant. Even though you are the first one to register and agreed to the free upgrade, if they scheduled to upgrade your area in June, you have to wait until June.
The best indication is when you received the notification in email or sms informing you that they are upgrading your Unifi line.
So, just wait for that notification to come.

I have 2 possible scenario for this which happened to me since I got the same error on first day they launched the page:
A) I just regged 26december for unifi, so my Streamyx just got terminated and I didn't settle bill yet
B) I have unbilled amount for my first unifi bill

Too lazy to test and risk of delaying, I paid both to settle to clear both amounts. Next day, I checked my bill all values turned to zero and I no longer see my Streamyx listed. Checked the thankyousurprise page and it finally say I am eligible for upgrade.

Hope this helps. U might wanna do live chat to force them to check for you

If your location is in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, then maybe you have a higher chance to get it first.
TTDI seems to be the pilot site for Unifi.

Hi All,

i'm staying in townhouse... subscribed to unifi 30M package... everything is fine in the ground floor, but the connection is so bad on first floor till the youtube using smart tv is not working, keep buffer buffer and loading...

i'm thinking to change the wireless router to TP link C7
http://www.tp-link.com.my/products/details...7.html#overview

any comment? is this compatible to unifi?

thanks!
*
Sorry for late reply.

This Acher C7 router got good review worldwide. But its wireless coverage might not be significantly better than the stock router provided by TM. Another thing we need to understand is, networking involves 2-way communication. In plain example, there's no point to have a wireless router that can transmit signal of let say 200 meter in range but our device itself only able to transmit data for a range of 100 meter. In this case, your device able to receive router's signal, but not the other way round. So wireless connection failed.

Using powerline adapters instead (preferably with wifi capability) might be a better alternative to solve your issue...

Well, it's a cheap good router. Got mine for bout 300+ via lazada. In my experience, stock firmware had problems if 5Ghz is being used, causes the router to lose connection after few days, need to reboot to gain connection again. Only on 5Ghz. I flashed OpenWRT, doesnt happen anymore.

And unifi ipv6 is not supported on the C7. sweat.gif

Hard to say actually since that i only use Archer C5 as of now (no experience using the Dlink 850). Anyway, Archer C5 seems stable as of now..but in term of reliability, i reserve my comment (too early to comment..less than 2 month of usage)

u know tmnut. always user fault. restart modem router the basic. yeah i did all that.

last time i complain got issue they blame me. only much later they finally admit, there was something wrong their end after all, so when they fix that then my internet worked.

so it's one of those types rolleyes.gif

it's a latency issue.... what happened to the unifi problem thread :{ where did that go ?

anyhow a temporary (not full fix) i'm connected to d3 australia server. when i host game latency is low 160-200
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=83459673

but i can still drop regardless.... also problematic when i join in other peoples game who are logged into the us server.

other users having success using mudfish for latency to us server.

so is definitely something dodgy going on hmm.gif

5Ghz coverage is smaller than 2.4 GHz. You must be stretching the coverage zone.

That's understandable. The higher the frequency (5 GHz in this case), the shorter its range. If wifi range is our concern, 2.4GHz is the one to choose. Not to mention that 5 GHz signals do not penetrate wall as good as the 2.4 Ghz signals do wink.gif

Not sure if this will help.
Have you disabled the IPv6 on your router?

Hard to say actually since that i only use Archer C5 as of now (no experience using the Dlink 850). Anyway, Archer C5 seems stable as of now..but in term of reliability, i reserve my comment (too early to comment..less than 2 month of usage)
*
Archer C5 is definitely better. TM has been using Dlxxk residential gateway for long time, but personally i do not like the brand.

I learn the hard way about IPv6 on the damn router. Almost went ballistic on TM guys until I remember to turn off the IPv6.

Damn those IPv6. Drives me crazy during speedtest

u know tmnut. always user fault. restart modem router the basic. yeah i did all that.

last time i complain got issue they blame me. only much later they finally admit, there was something wrong their end after all, so when they fix that then my internet worked.

so it's one of those types  rolleyes.gif

it's a latency issue.... what happened to the unifi problem thread :{ where did that go ?
anyhow a temporary (not full fix) i'm connected to d3 australia server. when i host game latency is low 160-200
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=83459673
but i can still drop regardless.... also problematic when i join in other peoples game who are logged into the us server.
other users having success using mudfish for latency to us server.

so is definitely something dodgy going on  hmm.gif

Same here I cant play any Blizzard games without disconnecting n high latency

Actually no surprise from the beginning. When i open their so-called 'surprise' email, i just got the speed upgrade, which is not a surprise at all because everybody knew it & will get it (announced in Budget 2017 what). I thought they will surprise me with extra goodies other than the speed upgrade doh.gif

i'm not referring to the free upgrade, i'm referring to the promo priced packages that only some in their "preferred list" gets, eg 159/169 for adv30, or same price upgrades to vip10 from vip5

Guys, need your opinion here.

I subscribed to UniFi 30m package back in November 2015. Now that im vacating my rental house, would like to terminate my account. The new room im moving into already have Unifi. I thought to transferring the Unifi account to my parents house but Unifi is not available yet and already has Streamyx 4M installed quite some time ago . IS there any way I can terminate my unifi account without paying any penalties?

you can apply to transfer the account to your parents house, upon confirmation from TM that unifi is indeed not available there, you can terminate the account without penalty.

Riot first. cool2.gif

Later if there is something good comes out from the rant/riot/complaint and before this, you agreed with the jumbo pack, you will be locked by term/conditions.

The only way I can see is if your parents' house current Streamyx is not under any contract, then cancel the current Streamyx. Then apply to transfer your existing UniFi to your parents' house but since UniFi is not available, your subscription will be changed to Streamyx. This way you don't have to pay the penalty.

P/S: I think I've read before that some people successfully terminated their UniFi account just by telling TM that they will be relocating to an address that is not covered by UniFi or Streamyx. Apparently TM does not request for any kind of proof but I'm not too sure.

Any pro plan users with jumbo pack (presumably with the early bird price) here? wanna compare the bill..
long story but previously I had to report to MCMC to get the advertised 'early bird' price due to a mistake by a tmpoint staff.

Nope...I should get the 50Mbps upgrade .Looks like have to complain since contract gonna expire next month.
*
I believe your rate of RM209 is for the Unifi Advance 30 + Ruby Pack (old rates & Ruby was Rm10 more).
Currently, with the present rates, it would be RM179 (with either Aneka, Varnam or Ruby)

If you received a counter-offer (when terminating your subscription) or any free upgrade prior to 31st Dec 2017, you won't be eligible.

Either that or your area is unable to cater for 50mbps - which could be their technical limitation, mentioned in their T&C.
I know several friends living in highrises that only have 30Mbps as their max in their building.

Then again, no harm asking or raising an amicable dispute as I personally feel all Malaysians with existing subscriptions should benefit from the Bajet 2017 announcement & not conditionally (i.e. those who received a free upgrade in the past aren't entitled, etc).

Remember that your contract period will not be extended / renewed & should remain the same should you get the free upgrade.

You are so screwed!
I thought no more VIP5 eventually. The lowest will be Unifi10.
You better go and ask them why you are not eligible for the free upgrade to Unifi10.

I subscribed to VIP5 at RM149 slightly more than two years ago, but I got this. How come you don't get it?

This is their reply:

With regards on the query, kindly be inform that not all Unifi customer will get free upgrade. The Free Speed Upgrade is subject to the Technical and Service availability. Technical limitation is something that we can’t avoid. There will be some customers who will not be able to enjoy the Free Speed Upgrade due to this factor.

Should customer not eligible for free upgrade, TM will offer customer the other option under Thank You Surprise as you received.

We hope we have addressed your concern and look forward to serve you better.

They are telling you that your area infra cannot support 10Mbps?
Check with your neighbours . Any of them has higher speed than yours.
Or you call 100 and said you want to upgrade to 30Mbps (since no more 10Mbps new order).
See whether they said can or cannot.
If they say cannot, then your area is limited.
If they say can, then ask them why didn't get free upgrade to 10Mbps.

Are ur account in "good order" all the time? Not outstanding balance and bill payment online at all time?

If yes, no reason that VIP5 does not not upgrade to Unifi10.

auto debit bill paying every month, got frequent call from TM and Maxis to offer 10Mbps in past. Not sure about VIP10 in neighborhood but definitely Maxis 10Mbps is existing in our Taman.

TM the most screwed up part is that they are really having 101 patterns/variants of the package for similar things the customers received. Thus, this is the main reasons that there are happy customers who pay much lesser for the same thing than others and again they are corresponding no of unhappy customers who pay higher price for the same thing. cool2.gif

And they still didn't learn the lesson probably. People are still receiving calls for RM 159 and RM 169 for Advance 30 for free upgrades to Advance 50.
They will wait for my official complaint then.

Uwaaaa! My surprise was only getting the HyppTV Jumbo pack. I'm staying in a high rise. That means it doesn't support speed up to 50mbps?
I read articles stating that VDSL2 can go up to 100mbps...

I reset my RG4332 and restart it for me to reconfig.

the problem is the wifi ID is "username@unifi" and I dont know the password. Anybody know?

It's quite well known. Some area may support 50Mbps but TM may not want to upgrade the package as some factors are outside of their control. E.g: Wiring from exchange to your unit is under your management.

Ignore that.

The "other" more suprise is exactly the same.

Those are same voucher, hypptv channel and webe with different pricing/channel/duration.

How does the free 1 month Unifi subscription works? Mine was installed on 1st January 2017 and today I got the 1st bill to pay before 24th February 2017. Unifi billing cycle starts every 24th of the month?

In the bill it shows 2 months Unifi fee but it's not even 1 month yet. So where is the 1 month free for the subscription? Or is it the 1st month is the downpayment?

1st month will already see the one mth free rebate.

only if u apply online via the official tm website then u will get the one mth free.
*
I did apply thru online via the official tm website. From what I see in the bill, the charges is for 2 months and then minus 1 month but it's not even 1 month yet. My understanding is that I'll only start paying in February. Or is it that I got it all wrong?

Nothing wrong la. The bill is prorated for first month. And this is a postpaid bill. U pay in advance first before u get to use.

lol, it is still prepaid after all...

you have to understand prepaid means pay upfront before use, postpaid is billed according to usage..
Streamyx & Unifi is pay upfront before use

just like mobile telco postpaid, we only get billed according to usage... i never pay upfront to my postpaid mobile lol

The term prepaid or postpaid are not correct in this case. Yes, you're billed upfront but even if you delaying the payment, you still got the service.

TM won't do that, at least not soon. Or else Streamyx users like me would have already got price cuts long before this.

*
i was told that the 2nd month only will get the free 1 month. but not sure if after the month of the prorated bill or the month after first full payment rclxub.gif

they dont want to reduce price for your information, they want to maintain the ARP. got news there will be higher speed than 100Mbps. but i still take it like pinch of salt. who nows they will announce it in march like they did with unifi pro last year.

Hi sifus here,

Just subscribed to unifi 30Mbps. Noticed when using Speedtest is 30Mbps. But when downloading files/games, maximum speed only around 3Mbps. Anyone knows why is it like this?

Constant disconnects, is it my router or ISP?
I keep getting these random disconnects every so often, I used to think it was my ISP, but I've noticed a few things and I think it may be my router instead. Whenever I have these periods of being unable to connect, I've noticed that the router's setting page at 192.168.1.1 will not work at all.

Planning to subscribe to the advanced plan 50Mbps at RM229 from Maxis Fibre so that i'll enjoy the free upgrade to 100 Mbsp. What are the steps of installation? I terminate Maxis first or subscribe to Unifi first? Do i need an agent for this?

more than half are subscribe HSBB which mean highest penetration compare to others countries.... yet still some place had limited port and not available port.... this is just the sign where TM should prepare more infra to others...

how tm can achieved that number? this is due to monopoly, and lack of infra for others companies ...

I'm supposed to get 50 -> 100, but I read somewhere that the CPE will need to be upgraded as well. Hopefully will get upgraded soon!

Already changed TM's router to AC66U back in 2013, but will be upgraded to AC88U if I find the performance lacking smile.gif

to be fair, lion city are more than 95% high rise, the cost of infra to be set up is certainly cheaper than the mostly landed in bolehland.

it is the same like why time broadband can offer at much cheaper price than TM which covers more landed properties.

it is also a reason why much higher speed can be offered by time and in lion city for the similar package.

I'm supposed to get 50 -> 100, but I read somewhere that the CPE will need to be upgraded as well. Hopefully will get upgraded soon!

Already changed TM's router to AC66U back in 2013, but will be upgraded to AC88U if I find the performance lacking smile.gif
*
CPE will only be upgraded in certain cases as there are users with older CPE.

Yeah, sometimes I do get that. You need to turn off your BTU as well if you need to get a different IP every single time. If I restart the router only, sometimes I get the exact same IP address.

i dont think the BTU need to be change to be eligible to have speed upgrade

as that BTU is running fiber interface.

the only equipment needed a change/upgrade is your router

This varies based on distance of client combined with interference and all. Test first the C5 la when youre upgraded then later decide need to upgrade to a higher powered wifi router or not to not waste money.

I straight day 1 replaced Dir850 with 55UHP as the Dlink doesnt do well since all the mobile devices in livingroom downstairs suffers from only 10mbps max instead of 27mbps im getting through cable. After replace, all good eventhough just on Wifi N (Wifi AC is damn short distanced lol)

dl the correct latest firmware

unrar the .bin & visit 192.168.0.1

go to advanced > system tools > firmware upgrade

browse the .bin file then upgrade

wait & do not touch off your router during updating..

done. voila & enjoy.

reference;

P.S. remember to backup if anything happened can be restored with default config.

below the attachment proven i successfully flashed the latest firmware + IPTV & IPV6 is working too!

According to SKMM Regulation
Percentage of
sample ≥ 90%
subscribed speed
(Fibre)

must 90% of subscription speed ?
but why TM not follow .. Tm under SKMM or SKMM under TM

Based on average results obtained from measurements conducted by MCMC at an aggregate level across
all regions, it shows that Maxis offers the better quality and more stable internet connection compared
to others.

MAXIS FIBRE BETTER QUALITY AND MORE STABLE NOT UNIFI

Figure 22 shows that users who subscribed to package of between 5.0 to 20.0 Mbps will experience at
least 90% of subscribed speed more than 90% of the time while for other subscribed speeds above 20
Mbps it shows that consumers would not be able to experience more than 90% of the time. It shows fibre
as a last mile can perform better for speeds 20Mbps and below. Some of Service Providers explained that
the higher speed packages show poor quality due to modem limitation and users may need to upgrade
the modem firmware to experience the optimum level.

PROBLEM STATED BY Some of Service Providers
A) MODEM FIRMWARE
B) MODEM LIMITATION

WE AS users may need to upgrade
the modem firmware to experience the optimum level.

WHY WE AS YOUR CUSTOMER NEED TO UPGRADE FIRMWARE BY OUR SELF
YOUR TECHNICAL TEAM DOESNT WORK RIGHT..

For DSL, measurements were only conducted for TM and Maxis. Most of the states are having the noncompliance
locations except for Wilayah Persekutuan KL and Johor. Based on total percentage of
compliance, it shows that using optical fibre as a last mile is better compared to DSL. Maxis percentage of
compliance for DSL is 84.6% while TM only 46.1%. From this results it can be seen that more than half of
TM customers were facing poor internet connection for downloading and it will cause bad user experience
during web browsing, streaming video and online gaming.

tm user in vdsl technology having bad user experience

- You have chosen the HyppTV Jumbo Pack FREE for 12 months from March 2017.
- You can also enjoy this HyppTV pack on HyppTV Everywhere app.
- Upon completion of the free 12 months period, you have the option to unsubscribe to the service with no penalties. A monthly fee of RM60/month will be applicable if you choose to continue to enjoy the service.

i'm not going to choose the upgrade due to this clause, later if forget to unsubcribe then sure rugi RM60 for 1 month.

it is a trap. tongue.gif

to get users to live without the hypptv jumbo package for 12 months trial, then later they continue to pay the money.

worst deal ever as compared to speed upgrade which is permanent somemore without paying extra and not even with any contract renewal.

Exactly its just some subscribers over excited and thinking Feb 1st if a blanket upgrade. sigh!

The upgrade phase starts from Jan 31st and runs thru Jun 2017 for one phase. I presume there will be multiple phases.

Takes months of phases to 'upgrade' the 'free' internet speed..

Initially after new installation of Unifi, i can get quite constantly speed at around 30mbps..
Since last year, speed become 28mbps but the ping response still less than 15ms.

Few weeks ago, getting high ping and up to now, the ping can be up to 200ms. The lower i got is around 48ms.

Based on my analysis if I got the ip range:

118.XXX.XXX.XXX - Ping ~ 150 ms, DL ~ 20mbps
124.XXX.XXX.XXX - ping ~ 100 ms, DL ~ 22mbps
175.XXX.XXX.XXX - ping ~ 50 ms, DL ~ 28mbps

Before, no matter which ip range i got, i can still get the the ping response of 15ms.
Anyone here can advise what is going on here ?

Depends on what model you currently use. If it supports the new speed, you're good to go. Otherwise they'll have to replace it

To all 100mbps subscribers, instead of adopting the "better than nothing" or "tak apa lah" attitude with what you're given, how about write to MCMC and bombard the hell out of TM's social space regarding the unfair treatment?

What's with all the "oh jumbo pack, at least better than nothing lah..." posts? Wake up. You're being raped in the butt also buat tak tau.

I think SilentForever is asking the whole previous version of firmware. Config.bin file size less than 50kb. Therefore it only backup SETTING and not include previous version firmware backup.

SilentForever, if currently you not facing any problem with your router, don't update it in case you did any wrong.

You try and let us know if it work. What I know factory reset is reset all settings to original status of current firmware. Previous firmware technically no longer exist. If order to get back previous firmware, you must have the full previous firmware bin file.

yeah factory reset will stick with the latest firmware & also fixed the issue too. literally, i don't plan to rolled back previous version.

Bug Fixed:
1. Fixed the re-dail bug of IPv6 under IPv6 same session mode.
2. Upgrade the version of dropbear ssh to 2016.74.
3. Fixed the reboot bug.

FYI, usually after flashed the firmware, highly recommended to factory reset!

Successfully flash to the latest firmware without any issue. In case u reset modem to default, just restore the backup configuration files.

Yes but the problem is that the March 2016 firmware is only from TM. Unable to download online. Online one is Jan 2016 version.

TM always included back-door to let "others" connect for free so i rather use the latest one from TP-LINK instead TM one!

previously they also using this kinda technique for streamyx.

TM still has no explanation for damn inconsistent connection since New Year. Even refreshing port does not do the trick.

I think I've requested to refresh my port about 3 times since New Year and still experiencing packet loss. After CNY lagi teruk.

Disable IPv6 then. It doesn't work well for me, so I have disabled it long time ago.
