Just done my huge upgrade from Streamyx 8mbps to Unifi 50. The speed increase really amazing. Feel exactly like when I first get my Streamyx ditching the 56k dial-up. Everything just loaded so fast.

QUOTE(jazzkobis @ Jan 23 2017, 12:48 PM) Guys, so unifi now got offer 30mbps for RM179 (and free upgrade to 50mbps if im not mistaken) according to Budget 2017, the price will be cut to half within 2 years or so.but does anyone know if the RM179 offer only for temporary? say Rm179 for 1 year then revert to RM199 after that. |

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Jan 23 2017, 02:58 PM) I think free upgrade to double the speed also sound like fairy tale before the Budget announcement. Of course I am also quite skeptical about the price cut coz it will hurt their profit and cashflow. Free upgrade doesn't seems so bad coz they still got the same amount of money. |

QUOTE(dannielshazmeer @ Jan 30 2017, 06:06 PM) Constant disconnects, is it my router or ISP? What is your router? maybe get a spare router to test it out.I keep getting these random disconnects every so often, I used to think it was my ISP, but I've noticed a few things and I think it may be my router instead. Whenever I have these periods of being unable to connect, I've noticed that the router's setting page at 192.168.1.1 will not work at all. |

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Feb 9 2017, 10:55 AM) i'm considering getting an Asus UHP router to replace the "rubbish can" DIR850L, it just doesnt hit the lower limit of the 30mbps rated speed (well, it reaches 97% of the speed but not at the minimum 30), and the AC penetration rate on the 2nd flr is relatively weak at 1 bar or 2 on my note 4 Using a WiFi repeater will be more effective to expand the wifi coverage.will a high gain Asus router help in my scenario? at least maybe the AC penetration power |

QUOTE(hhl118 @ Feb 15 2017, 01:23 PM) Hi all sifu, I'm a new subscriber to unifi and I'm subscribing to 50m package. I just received a call from TM said that the free speed upgrade promo for new subscriber only valid for 30m free upgrade to 50m, while 50m free upgrade to 100m only eligible for existing subscriber. Please advice if this is true. Thanks. Definitely not true. I also just subscribed for Unifi in Jan. The promo should be for 30mbps upgrading to 50mbps and 50mbps to be upgraded to 100mbps. I signed up for 50mbps because of the free upgrade to 100mbps. These are clearly stated in their online promo web site. I think better take a screenshot now. Unless of course if the infrastructure in your area cannot support 100mbps then it might be a different story. [EDIT] Source: https://www.tm.com.my/speedupgrade/Pages/index.html Take the screenshot show to them. This post has been edited by Cynox: Feb 15 2017, 01:51 PM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Feb 20 2017, 03:00 PM) -.- Doesn't work. Not to mention I am the only one who actually inquire about unifi status at my lorong 5. just register your interest at Unifi portal, also your neighbour. When the technician came my house to install Unifi late last month, he was saying there is only 8 ports per row of house (terrace house) at my area. I am the fifth in that row to install. If all the 8 ports are taken, they will only install new ports when there is enough interest for Unifi within that row. Plus, those neighbours actually discussed to share my line while paying 'little' amount of money to me. That IF I can get unifi in first place.... That's what i was told, how accurate it is I am not sure though, just sharing what I heard. |

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ Feb 20 2017, 03:43 PM) Hi, those who have their UNIFI installed recently. Did you have to do thumb print biometric verification before/after installation? Just got a call from the reseller to get my thumb print verification. I just installed mine around end of last month. Thought need thumb print too but at the end no need, just signed some forms. The line is under my wife's name and she was out to fetch our kid from school while i "supervise" the installation. So i just signed the forms on behalf. https://www.tm.com.my/OnlineHelp/Announceme...KAD-READER.aspx |

QUOTE(manx @ Feb 23 2017, 01:52 PM) hello guys, sorry if this post at wrong place. Dun think it is possbile to do conceal as the cable from the pole run from outside all the way to the termination socket. Then there is a white cable (looks very fragile) connecting it to BTU. Unless maybe you conceal a pipe inside the wall and later run the cable thru the pipe. Most likely you have to pay extra to the technician to carry out the extra work and some might not entertain you if they find it troublesome. Just a quick question, i am planning to do conceal wiring for unifi (for future) since my area still dont have service. (landed house) Below are the questions:- 1. Entry wall = house outside wall? 2. Where is the FWS normally placed? outside wall or near BTU? 3. What type of cable used between Entry Wall to FWS? 4. What type of cable used between FWS to BTU?? 5. Are all the cabling after BTU uses RJ45? (except BTU to phone which is RJ12) Thanks. |
