People usually only want Quantum MasterCard and not Visa. MC has cash back for online transactions while Visa doesn't have. When I added my Quantum on top of my VS that time, CS said I must apply both types of cards. After received them, I only activated the MC and called CS immediately to cancel the Visa card. It was cancelled immediately, removed from my PBe and no need to pay for SST.

DarReNz is it possible not to create so many version? i think now is already unlimited post within a thread and to keep everything into one version is simple for us to find answer by searching within only this thread rather than search in lowyat forum and getting answer in several version... like in BP now already 15k post and still counting but is easy to find our history... Please reconsider this in the future...

I think have to resend my query here since the previous thread closed

I noticed the TnG App still listed under online rebate transaction.

Last month for May statement, I set my Quantum card for auto reload (no OTP whatsoever) for RM20 and I did get cashback for it.

June statement I made manual reload to TnG App with the Visa signature (with OTP) but no cashback.


Is there any change haoppen to Public Bank card t&c?

might need hye to review the thread rules due to few issues (e.g. no suitable TS taking up the job, existing TS already MIA/inactive, etc)

T-5. Threads limit and new thread versions (Postponed until further notice)
The general rule is to close the existing thread when it reaches post of 2500 to allow a refresh of the thread to occur from time to time to keep the discussion/interest of our readers fresh. Given the task of TS is voluntary in nature, a revision to this limit would be set @ 4000. TS are to ensure a refresh of the threads prior to reaching the limit to avoid automatically losing their position as the TS of that thread.

TS not adhering to this rule (during / after the postponement period in effect)
1. Would not be eligible to open any new thread as TS.
2. Assume new TS for an existing TS.
3. New TS position is open for the thread and applications will be considered. If new TS is selected, new thread under new TS will be opened.

TL;DR, I managed to extend my first FPP payment to around 55 days. Max is 80 days if you really plan it out.

This is 0% interest and 0% upfront handling fees? Where can I find more info about this? The only info on FPP I can find is the one below but there's a certain % of handling fees?

flexipay with the upfront fee, i guess that's the calculation. not sure exactly because i would avoid it. biggrin.gif

for quantum flexipay, yes. equal split to 12 months. no additional fee.

Cannot load the T&C. But I guess it's only once. For people don't have VS/VI then max they can win is RM 50 while those who have VS/VI and meet the spending of 800, wins the RM 100 I guess.

If i can use my old VI, RM188 easily can get unless i top up on 8 BP cards to get P30 Pro...

yes i know is voucher, just let him know when is the best time to reload to confirm get it as now is already day 2 of July and you know a lot of people already top up on yesterday and RM50k voucher might be already finish up for this month...

The promo was released quite late last night.
No harm to try, worse case losing RM800X0.002 = RM1.60. For my case, (RM800-RM633.25)x0.002= RM0.33 only.

It says I can earn 1 VIP point for spending outside of dining, grocery and online. Problem is,... I don't know how to check how much VIP points I have earned. I couldn't find the link in my PBB account. Anybody can guide me?

Hi guys, PB cc statement is flexible or fix? Just got my hand of my new PB cc this afternoon and now only managed to add card into my pbe, actually can call to CS to ask but i think it is too late at this hour ya? So anyone got changed statement date before to the date that you desired?

The reason is i want to consolidate all my banks CC into the same statement date for ease of management.

Departmental stores and supermarkets are different from each other. Tesco is a supermarket, not a departmental store. Parkson is an example of a departmental store.

Supermarket is under Groceries (6% CB for Visa Signature), not Departmental stores (5% CB for Quantum Visa)

Eg Aeon Supermarket is under Groceries, Aeon Departmental is under Departmental.

For the auto reload last month statement there was no such info, but I did get the cash back. Better call the cs then I guess. Cause based on my transactions, the only cashbacks missing is for the tng rm10

no need, card features is not excluded from the promotion, means once you spend RM600, you get RM50 shopee voucher and RM30 CB as well. RM800 is for VI/VS, not Quantum

yala, i didn't ask him spend RM600 for QV on BP, just spend RM600 on QV card features to get voucher and CB
so the best is spend RM800 for VS on BP to get RM100 voucher and RM38 CB

only applied to QV, not QMC, but QV can't get RM30 CB if you top up BP, only can get RM50 shopee voucher, however you can get RM100 voucher and RM38 from VI/VS by topping up BP

hi guys, I have a current account with public bank few years back and I just applied for a credit card. I have activated the credit card via automated phone call and have done a few transactions. I thought I would have the access to credit card online statements via my online banking account but apparently not... I clicked on PB card but it says

Error Code : (E0001.3A.4293804456)
You do not have the relevant account.

I tried calling the customer service several times but they're forever engaged uhh
Is there other way I can access to my credit card online statement?

My appeal-application since June 19 for Quantum is still "pending documentation". I called today and was told no further documentation required, just waiting for decision. I actually paid extra for my other credit cards to make my CCRIS look good. No choice but have to wait - the 12 month zero % instalment is the feature I'm going after.

I can also see the "pre-approved" credit limit of RM50,000 of "pending" application on my CCRIS report. Hopefully it does not get shrunk to RM5,000!

got charged SST RM25 for my VS yesterday (annual fee was charged and reversed immediately on the same day yesterday)

Just called CS few minutes ago asking for SST rebate. CS say will give me rebate to my VS due to active usage of my card. Didnt say anything about spending minimum RMX amount in X days (probably due to that I been using it monthly for getting CB)

Just wondering how did you do the appeal-application?

In my application earlier, they put my "pre-approved" credit limit as RM50,000 as well. However, upon approval, this will change according to their valuation

I was rejected at first - they called it "cancel". When I called to speak to the CSA, I asked for the reason but he would not tell. He then said he could put in an appeal for me, and nothing I needed to do. And since then the status has been "pending documentation".

Hi, 1st of all wish your application go through ya. Regarding the pre-approved 50k CL, mine got chop to 20% only, hahahaha. But is ok, i actually kinda like apply for fun, if approved then i minght use it for my plan, and 10k is ngam ngam enough for my plan.

Try another CS. Technically the CS is right, SST cannot be waived. They can only give you a cash rebate to offset. biggrin.gif

Long time ago, someone mentioned: For VS - must spend >RM8000/year to ask for a SST rebate.
RM633.3x12 = RM7599, so maybe that is the reason why CS offers additional spending of RM500.
I am guessing.

My case was they offer me gold card instead, but I call it off as gold card doesn't suit my spending style.

Sigh. They say no to my asking for appeal. Really bad luck for me. Pb Quantum rejected; CIMB call to offer CB Platinum card, but duno why also rejected

This could be the reasons behind.
Somebody did point out that having too much cards with relatively low CL doesn't pare well for credit application.

Looks to me PBB has no shortage of customers. I wonder what's its rejection rate if approval is taking so long. My AEON took a week plus, my OCBC 10 days, PBB 20 days already since appeal and moving into the 4th week. I kind of think it's waiting for the next CCRIS update.

no really due to where u apply.

U got too many cc, the dsr is too high for u to get another card. CCRISS clean no means can apply card easily. some bank check DSR.

If you are referring to quantum master function to convert a single transaction to 12 months, only the initial is eligible

in your case 1200 will be eligible for cashback if it fits the quantum criteria

1st question... Yes according to the application form.

2nd question it stated clearly in the term n conditions that you won't eligible if you apply via agent such as ringgitplus.

They should come as dual cards, as stated on their products page. Just call to cancel the Visa and will be removed immediately, else SST will be charged for cards which are not activated.

I just asked for the increase last month by writing an email to custsvc@publicbank.com.my and submitted all necessary documents.

no luck to waive SST as I'm apply from ringgitplus, which entitle to spent 250 and get 180 lazada e-voucher...since already charge SST, so just keep the q-visa then

i think visa more or less same with master in term of benefit, the only diff is the latter give one more space (online) to fully used up while the former a bit difficult i guess, but not many card offer departmental store. that said, what is entertainment, karaoke n bar? movie?

i start to use pbb vi since allow 2% on overseas spending. but seem mbb fcb are much straight forward.

Yes, I have very very small expenses for entertainment and departmental actually.
PBB vi requirement is high, my income is not possible to get it.

again, dont bother use the online form. it's half-online form, half-email.

better fill up the whole PDF form, then attach all the supporting documents via email to PBCS Customer Service <custsvc@publicbank.com.my>

Guys, after 4 weeks' wait, I have finally received an SMS approval for my Quantum card. My ECCRIS report now shows a credit limit of RM40,000 , reduced from the previous RM50,000.
I'm now on board the PBB family to enjoy the card benefits. Happy!

hi all, I made booking via agoda n purchase via aliexpress, both no otp. I call pbb cs, they reply this depend on merchant, is this statement true? I always thot its a bank operation to ensure security to their customer?

not from your issuing bank/card.

it's between acquiring bank and merchant.

non-otp (2D or non-3D) transactions, the risk is borned by the merchant (if they chose* not to trigger OTP/3D).

if so, the merchant will not tag the transaction as "3D", so your card/issuing bank will just charge your card as-is (without OTP validation). This is why fraud can happen easily.

if merchant tag the transaction as "3D", the issuing bank will trigger OTP to you (cardholder) to verify the transaction it captured. this is why 3D or our SMS OTP implementation solves a lot of fraud transactions coming through the banks.



*why merchant chose 2D? it's mainly due to "user experience". they dont want user to be kept asking to enter OTP. or they want the payment to have seamless flow, like auto-reload, etc.

noticed how TNG ewallet or boost works? 1st time adding card, definitely need OTP. at this stage, your card will be properly validated and then stored securely (encrypted). on subsequent reloads (charging the card), just charge seamlessly without OTP because the card already authenticated earlier (during card saving).


here, we are so used to getting OTP smile.gif it's a little safety net for us in case our card get frauded unknowingly.

probably few things...

1) boost is linked to >1 payment gateway, and their backend swings to different gateway according to traffic or time of day, or any other possibilities

2) boost has different policy in place according to specific amount threshold or count of reloads or count/amount of activities within certain period

3) boost's policy kicks in according to card type or issuing bank

4) or even randomized when to/not to trigger otp laugh.gif

or any mixture of combination of policies/rules that we dont know confused.gif


problem is, we dont know how their payment is configured, and obviously dont know what are their policies/rules (guarded secret)

I paid TNB online with Visa Signature, no points. Quantum Master also no points. Quantum Visa maybe got, but never tried. I think you either get cash back or points. So if pay with Quantum Visa online, maybe can get points.

Pb turned down my report of missing cashbacks for tnge wallet with the same reason of fave pay. We need to key in credit card number for every reload, and not save in the app

BTW just to inform, presto does not give points for Quantum VISA. Just checked my balance total amount - presto = my collected points.

EDITED: used Jompay to reload Presto, which is a no to VIP Points.

BP is eligible for points though. biggrin.gif

They are aware about it long time ago. Only until recently someone challenged them to produce black and white. And after few weeks, lo and behold he returns as the bearer of bad news. I guess he must be following up closely with his demands. Trying to appear as a victim makes it even disgusting.

Based on experience, internal auditing usually bring out / focus on one or two major issue(s) every year based on selective criterias. There was findings that may trace back to 5 or 10 years ago under different audit team.

Non-materiality maybe the reason behind split statement cash back since 2015.

Time's up. PB very slow to react.
Other banks had revised their benefits/rebates due to reduced Interchange fee, except PB.
And Quantum cards are now 2+ years old, about time to revise the card benefits/rebates.

doesnt matter. wait till b&w is out, then plan ahead.

everyday speculating doesnt change pbb's plan which may have already put in motion.

once pbb sorted out the product feature revision, comms, execution, approvals (mgmt and regulatory), etc; then only we would know the outcome.

Hi all, would like to confirm that

For new to PBB CC campaign, do we need to call CS to inform that we want to participate in order to get the reward 1 which is " Spend amount of minimum RM200 to get CB RM25" or you just auto entitle when you swipe/spend RM200 within 2 months from date of approval ?

Note: I already SMS to 66300 participate but not sure its for the participation of both reward 1 ( CB25) and 2 ( luggage set/watch) together or just reward 2 since they just want you to choose either luggage/watch in the SMS format.

Got my CB for both MC and VISA based on today statement, still waiting call from 3rd party for the luggage delivery, will give them a call if 2 weeks they have not make an call to me for delivery

hi fellow seniors, just got my quantum today, the activation process is kinda messy though, is it normal? pbebank.com seems abit unstable. i can't see the card yet, is it normal as it will require some time?

you can add card to pbe...

PBe > Profile Maintenance > Manage Profile > Add / Delete Account

or

PBe > Account > PB Card > Add Card

else need to go to branch (last resort)


in pbe, change pin. it would activate the card too.

i have applied a pb cc in Feb 2019 via ringgitplus, said got airasia voucher rm200. waited 6 months ringgitplus email me said airasia voucher not available, replaced by lazada e-voucher rm300. and given me a evoucher code to use in lazada.

the problem now is, i tried to use it over 100 items selling in lazada but all prompt me error message " Sorry, voucher is only applicable on . "
but the msg never stated applicable on what products or categories or any details.

i checked with lazada and their answer is you have to keep trying until success.
wtf...

anyone experienced this kind of situation? what should i do now? pls help

I'm speechless!
I reported here few days ago that after all the waiting, I finally got an SMS telling my application for Quantum has been approved. Today on a Saturday, I received an email to tell me my application has been rejected!
I sent back an email immediately to ask if this could be a mistake. I called the bank and the voice message was my application has been approved!
I checked my CCRIS report and the notation of "Approved by FI" is still there.
Any one has experienced this before?
This is really frustrating. I hope it is a mistake alright. What sort of people work at PBB?

no need speechless. I trust the CCRIS more. I think the email was sent late, before the approval. The other day I received some promo for 7-7 that came in a few days after Jul 7.

I've got good news. Got to speak to CSA a while ago he said I had 3 applications altogether, one approved and 2 rejected. Why multiple applications I don't know but I did appeal against the first rejection so maybe it's counted as another fresh application.
I was told my card has been sent and I should be receiving it this coming week.

Seniors, is it the SST for Quantum RM25 x 2 = RM50 is not waive able? Because the PBB Branch counter said its waive able, but the CS said no, for the first year for the very least. I'm not sure which is right though.

For the first year?
If you are new to Public Bank, check out this campaign, where you can get back your RM25 when you spend RM200 on the card (you may just dump RM200 into some ewallet).

By the way, different Customer Service personnel might give different answer, you can always try to call again on the next day to ask another CS.

if 1 principle + 2 supp = 3 x RM38 , 3 x RM30?

Pos Online has one of the worst interface lol. I remember using it few years back and it is really a pain.

Use JomPay instead.

What do you know? I receive my card today! after activating it and setting my pin, I followed the steps here to link the new card in pbe.
I did these steps first as I thought it looked simpler :
PBe > Account > PB Card > Add Card but it didn't work.
So I tried these :
PBe > Profile Maintenance > Manage Profile > Add / Delete Account
And yes, got it.
I'm really glad to be able to join the PBB family.

Has anyone recently applied PBB credit card through RinggitPlus? IIRC last time the application form and supporting docs were emailed to PBB. This time I was asked to email them to RinggitPlus instead. Wonder if anyone share the same concern.

Once again read TnC of the product. TnC says got means got, none means none. Simple. If TnC says separate but once cash back, so u only get rm30. If TnC says separate statement gets separate cash back, then u get rm60.

Simply put, refer to TnC of the card. For more info, refer to the website for TnC and/or product disclosure sheet.

PB is so generous, even though I’m no longer a new customer when I applied for PBVS & PBQMC, they are still giving me the “Cash Back for Apply PB Card” RM25 for each card. As a result, they absorb the service tax cost.

I think you need to maintain the amount under AUM TnC to maintain the membership.
If everybody does the same, I can have a lot of privilege banking membership from all the banks.

If I don't have a memory leak, there is a clause where they can charge you $$$ when your asset under management drops below the threshold. So yes you can still enjoy the benefits.

Edit.. i.m going to test my ewallet once more for this month. I did not get my CB for last month but TNG app is listed.

New test;
Just reloaded rm200 + rm100 from TNG now. No OTP sent.
Removed my card and added back. Reloaded rm50. No OTP sent except for the rm1 verification OTP


There is also a PlanB if this fails.. Shopee sells the TNG reload PIN.... But.... For rm50 reload u pay RM51 or RM51.50. .. like 3% gone there..
If use shopback can get back 1%. Not so fantastic rebate but at least something if TNG app fails.

Nope, u won't get anything from Shopback because TNG reload pin is in Tickets and Voucher category. I didn't earn anything. It's stated as tracked in Shopback but would be rejected upon confirmation. Based on my observation.

It was told that cb will only be awarded for transactions with OTP

Reload RM 600 in once, OTP will be triggered.

note that there are some TNG Reload PIN types that can only be applied once in the life of an account , so you risk ending up with a useless piece of paper

If government servant around 60k++ can get?

Insurance depends on payment channel.

Auto debit & OTC ---> Not eligible
Pay online manually at respective portal ---> YES (example: MyAIA)

Not sure what kind of answers are you hoping for.

Before 13/3/19, before Boost upgraded their system, no OTP was required to top up Boost. The transactions were not considered as online transactions.

After the upgrade, you may get Boost App 3D-EC (with OTP) or Boost App SSL-EC (without OTP). Both are online transactions!

But Boost's MCC was changed to 6540 in mid June, so it may give different answers to some credit cards now.

They should automatically send you the replacement credit cards (not sure on new debit card) just before expiry month, unless you fail in annual review.

Public Bank not always send sms alert for credit card usage? So far I only received one sms for my first usage at Petrol station. The rest in retail don't receive any.

I remembered that I did not tick alert amount. It stated that if no tick, sms alert will be sent out based on default amount. I think the default amount maybe RM200 because the petrol statioln terminal auto charge RM200 for authoritied pump. The rest I spent all less than RM200.

Hi guys my pbb visa signature just activated on mid June and I used it to reload my BigPay and still there's no cash back seen even though my pbb mastercard quantum already credited cashback on 9july. Has anyone encounter such issue before?

very likely your actual first statement is in Aug. July is partial month, no statement generated.

from mid-June --> 9th July, that's less 1 statement cycle (partial), so no statement generated.

once u get 9 Aug statement, you only get RM38 cashback for period 10 July - 9 Aug.

for partial cycle from mid-June - 9 July, you need to write to PBB to get the cashback.

i've done this few times, others have done it as well. tedious, but just write to them. pbb is aware of this and so far honoring the cashback for partial-statement cycle.

PB follows statement date, as long as you top up before statement date, you should entitled for the full CB.

I stumbled upon a recent article by Ringgitplus on topping-up e-wallet with credit card. I just want some clarification from the CC sifus here if one of the statements in the article is true.

from what i observed, most of the deduction from RP comes from 3rd party sources (e.g. forums).

pretty obvious RP didnt test all combinations of cards vs ewallets (and across different time/period too because of silent MCC app/revision by bigpay, boost, tng ewallet, etc)

also, any news on changes or announcement, RP post come right after information is shared here brows.gif laugh.gif


for PBQM, best is still reload to bigpay. if boost need fund, reload from bigpay. simple as that. easier to manage than reload directly to boost and bigpay, respectively.

Ah, it's such a relief to hear that RP shared the wrong info on PBQM. Thanks yet again cybpsych for clearing my doubt.

Yes, I am currently doing Bigpay to Boost using SCJOP and Am TRUE for most of my spending. But right now I will need another online CB card that can cater for my increased spending (business is getting better I suppose). So I want an additional card that can top up into Bigpay.

Initially I was aiming for YOLO before PBQM, but later I realised that it would be better for me to get PBQM first because I can get some additional Big points along the way, which YOLO can't provide. So obviously the better choice would be PBQM then.

Will walk into a PB branch when I have the time. Thanks again.

So my SST comes yesterday for Quantum

Today make a call to ask any conditional waiver and the CS hold me off a while and ask management.

Result: RM25 x 2 will be rewarded next month, i just need to pay the SST for this month first.

Don't ask me why, all subject to management approval *
Try your luck by calling CS **

technically you still can earn points if you need to utilize the CL (if higher than other cards you're having) for emergency cases.

for me, the card's high CL helped me for funeral stuffs, paying for Nirvana lot, etc. last time, there was 9mth 0% Flexipay, good for large spending like renovation, electrical purchases, etc. --- can earn points and convert for installments.

to earn points on purpose, no double-dipping for sure.

Age limit to apply for some credit cards (either principal or supplementary) in Malaysia.
PB don't mention it.

How can i make payment for other bank's credit card outstanding by using public bank saving account?

Or public bank savings acc can't make payment for others' bank credit card?

not under payment, transfer like normal bank transfer, can be instant transfer as well

It seem like it only captured one of ur PRU online payment as online.. (RM200 + RM18 ezbuy) x 5% for PBQM = RM10.90. How much VIP u earn in this statement?

but indeed one of the RM200 is consider as online...
maybe they consider you split the insurance into 3 thats why only consider only one
