Does anyone try to increase the credit limit before? What is the procedure?
*
I just asked for the increase last month by writing an email to custsvc@publicbank.com.my and submitted all necessary documents.

How do you maximise the cashback for QV? Where do you spend on?

just wondering transaction above RM250 "just tap & pin" consider contactless transaction or not

samsung pay also consider as contactless transaction, how much is the limit for samsung pay?
*
Yes, samsung pay is contactless and it can go more than RM250. For amount more than RM250, you will have to key in pin on the terminal. I have tried for purchase more than RM1k before, no issue.

aiya just sacrifice RM1 do pin transaction
*
So if the purchase amount is less than RM30, no cashback will be given anyway. Then just use pin to reset. So if use pin, then can still get vip points right?

Quantum visa contactless cashback beginning september.
Is it valid with samsung pay?

I would think so. The CC receipt always states that it's contactless.

Hi, wander how you specify that you want Quantum Visa only? And not together with the Master?

Coz the application form just stated Public Bank Quantum. And I assumed this is bundled package card, 2 cards together.
*
I already have the Quantum Mastercard. I have been using the PB Gold Mastercard since before there were Quantum cards. Last year they sent me the Quantum Mastercard. So I thought I should get also the Quantum Visa and hence decided to apply for it.

I filled up the form online, saved as pdf and emailed together with my documents. In my email I did mention that I already have the Quantum Mastercard, and stated that I'm applying for the Quantum Visa.

Hi, how do I reset wave count restriction with PIN usage?
At the ATM machine? online?

I called CS before as I suddenly had problem with wave function. The CS advised that this was for safety and did not advise about the reset option.
*
For your next purchase, insert card into the terminal and key in pin.

This is what I’m planning to do 😂 RM 1 with credit card pin to reset 😈

I usually just cancel the transaction after pin and approval, so RM0. 🤣

Just to confirm, first, you insert your credit card into the credit card terminal. When the credit card terminal prompts you for PIN, you just press 'cancel' on the terminal, to terminate the transaction, right?

Thank you very much for sharing your clever trick with us.  notworthy.gif  brows.gif
*
You do have to key in your PIN, then wait for bank approval before you can cancel.

Seems a brilliant idea smile.gif

Also the count will reset whenever there is pin input right? (eg after cumulative wave counts (9) or cumulative amount limit RM500, above RM250..)

BTW any better way to keep track the contacless counts so that we can plan to do the reset accordingly?
*
Yes, the count will reset when there is pin input. I use Samsung Pay instead of physical card wave. So when my transaction is more than RM250, the terminal will trigger me to enter pin. In that case, my count will reset too. For me, I do my own tracking. If you do less than 9 wave transactions per week, you could just make it a habit to reset it at the petrol kiosk every time/week you pump your petrol. I have been doing it for more than a year now since I started using Samsung Pay.

QUOTE(kart @ Aug 11 2019, 08:23 AM)
Sorry for the silly questions. I just want to make sure that I have the same understanding as yours.

After keying in PIN and press 'Ok', the credit card terminal will show 'Processing' status. At this point, I should quickly press 'cancel' on the terminal, right?

As such, at rare event when the network is fast enough, the transaction may be approved. But, this is just a small risk to take. smile.gif
*
After processing, it will show that the bank has approved. Then the screen will show that you can start to pump your petrol. Only then I press the cancel button. Lifting up the pump and putting it back without pumping will also cancel the transaction. I have only tried at BHP and Shell. Try to do it once at Petronas but I couldn't find the cancel button, so in the end I just pumped.

QUOTE(jefftan4888 @ Aug 11 2019, 08:37 AM)
3. What do I need to do when I reached my limit of RM500?

When your cumulative contactless transactions have reached RM500, you are required:
• To perform another transaction with PIN entry at the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal OR;
• To perform ATM transaction with PIN entry

Once either action has been made, the limit will be reset automatically.

Can't cancel @ Petronas for my JOP yesterday as well. I guess something wrong with Petronas system.

What had you tried @ ATM?
*
I have tried it at ATM, but that was more than a year ago when I started using Samsung Pay. The count was not reset with ATM. So for the past one year, I have been using petrol kiosk for resetting. All the while I have been using BHP, then Shell recently. Petronas I just tried once very recently and since I couldn't cancel it, I don't think I'll try that again. 😜

I can't recall clearly what I did at the ATM machine, probably just check balance, going through the menu, etc. So I guess if ATM works, maybe got to withdraw?

Thank you very much for your in-depth description of your method.  notworthy.gif

Since it is approved, a tiny amount of the credit limit will be reserved. Maybe, after the acquirer bank of the petrol station voids the transaction, the credit limit will be restored a few days later. Then again, this is just a very minor issue, that can be neglected. smile.gif
*
Usually the kiosk pump will hold RM200 when you pump, but if I cancel, there is no holding of RM200. I did check online if there is any authorised amount, but there isn't any, which is good.

CS told me "NO". But 3 weeks later I saw "Cash Back for Apply PB Card" RM25 for both my VS & QMC. If I knew this, I would have keep my QV.  doh.gif

I called too. First CS said the same thing, new card no offer. Few days later, called again, and second CS asked me to spend RM500 first then call back and request. I haven't called the 3rd time yet. Wait till my spending is posted before calling again.

But I do know of someone who didn't want to add credit card into online banking, thinking that it's not secured. 😅

It shouldn't take so long.
The whole process is just add an additional card with no alteration on CL or any re-evaluation needed.

P/S: Under assumption that you have active Quantum Mastercard and/or PBB Visa Signature or higher
*
I have Quantum Mastercard. Applied Quantum Visa on 23 July, received approval SMS on 6 Aug. Also about 2 weeks. Yes, it does take that long.

*
Basically you just tell them you want to wave. The terminal will only prompt you to key in pin after you tap.

He basically said that there're option for terminal operator to select: PIN only, TAP only and TAP with PIN.

And a lot of the cashiers have no knowledge on the last "hidden" option of TAP with PIN.
*
Oh, then that I don't know. I haven't tried that before. I have been using only Samsung Pay. So I just do a wave as usual, and when amount is above RM250, then terminal will prompt me to key in pin. That's all.

For collection at bank branch, do they inform you via call or sms when the cards are delivered to the branch or you just drop a visit and ask them instead?
  hmm.gif
Woah so long blink.gif

Do they have a limited timeframe to process the application? I noticed that PBB is one of those banks that took a super long time to process
*
I collected from branch the third working day (Fri) after receiving the approval sms (Tue). The date on the envelope stated that it was received by the branch on the next day (Wed) after I received the approval sms. The sms for me to collect only came the following week (Tue) after I have already collected my card.
