Hi all, I know there is a search button but I really have wasted a lot of time searching and yet to find the answer. Hence, I post my question here. If you all want to curse me for asking this question, please answer my question before cursing... smile.gif

I'm planing to apply for Visa Signature or quantum cc. My question is, are we entitled to cashback for topping up e-wallet? Say, bigpay, boost or Grabpay?

Thank you...

Lol! I never thought search result can hide in the spoiler. No wonder I can't see the keywords I searched for.

Thank you @fruitie for pointing out.

Edit: and strangely, the quote didn't show up...

Applied VS & Quantum through ringgitplus on 3/8.

7/8, RP emailed saying PBB needs few weeks to verify (implied that my application has been sent to PBB)

10/8, called PBB, not yet received my application.

13/8, called PBB again, received.

22/8, received sms, approved.

23/8, received cards.

VS rejected, only Quantum was approved. Sigh! Was thinking to cancel my unused Ambank priority banking card upon approval of VS. bangwall.gif

CS told me that I am not entitled to the luggage promotion because I am applying through RP. (WTH! I actually applied for these cards because of their CB for e-wallet AND luggage promotion...) ranting.gif

CS also said I need to spend RM250 to qualify for RM180 Lazada voucher from RP. Spend additional RM300 each card to get rebate of RM25 SST. Good news is, topping up e-wallet also considered as "spending" to qualify for rebate.

One question please:

Is the CB cycle follows my statement date or calendar month?

1. The luggage promotion is not eligible if you apply via 3rd party such as RP. Next time read the TnC first as it is clearly stated.

2. CB follows statement month.
*
1. No next time lo... Have not applied for CC for years. Now applied for new PBB card is due to the st*pid revision for Maybank 2 cards on Amex.

2. Thank you.

Why are you not getting ShopBack RM200 since you were applying via RP?

user posted image
Why PB rejected your VS application since you have not been applying CC for years?
*
I clicked through shopback. Should be able to get RM200. I have no idea why my VS application was rejected. Thinking to call CS to appeal. Might be due to few late payments for my credit cards (late by 1-2 days)...

QUOTE(jefftan4888 @ Aug 24 2019, 09:38 AM)
Check your statement date. You still can get CB if your statement date is > 24 Aug.
*
Yes. It stated my statement date is 6th of every month.

Wondering whether giant, Watson, guardian etc regarded as departmental stores?

Giant, guardian no. Watson, some yes. Can refer to post #1 for departmental store.
*
Not many stores in post #1. Cracking head where to use QV to earn cashback while fulfilling the condition to spend RM300 for SST rebate...

QUOTE(jefftan4888 @ Aug 24 2019, 04:59 PM)
I think CCRIS does not state how many days of late. Late is late.

If your statement date is 6th, then you have missed August cashback, i.e. before 6th August.
*
The 1st statement should be on 6th Sept. I just got my cards yesterday. So I still have more than 1 week to earn cashback. No problem at all for QM but not so easy for QV, even after 1/9 as there isn't many places equipped with paywave...

Before 30/8, Parkson, Isetan, Metrojaya, Aeon Departmental (excluding Supermarket).

From 1/9, same place but using paywave. + Giant, Cold Storage, Aeon Supermarket, Guardian, Watsons.

Note: first transaction must be PIN.

Haha most of us here are waiting for another new month to spend RM500 in 1 transaction to win 5%. (New spending campaign)
*
Not much help even after 1/9 as I'm in Sabah, very little are relevant to me... 😔

So far I used paywave ONCE ONLY at mcd. Have not noticed any other places accept paywave...

As for the spending campaign, I plan to buy 2 sport shoes for my oversea trip. So I might participate... 😊

You can pump petrol at BHP or Caltex, each time RM30.

For me, I have better option now since my Citi CBPV was approved yesterday. I can get 10% CB.
*
Pump petrol normally I'll use my m2 Amex & I'm pumping shell.

Most of the card machines shall accept Paywave but the cashier stops it. So normally I will ask the cashier first.
FYI, you can use Paywave at Giant, Guardian, Watson's, Everrise, Parkson.
*
Cashier stops it? Isn't using contactless is easier for the cashier?

Next time I'll try to use contactless in these places. My 1st time using contactless in mcd was due to the machine couldn't read my credit cards & the cashier asked me whether I have contactless card...

Did you use the TNG promo? Pump Shell RM50 get RM5 rebate or 10% discount which is better than Amex 5%.
*
I don't use tng as there is no toll to pay in sabah (yet). Apart from the 10% for shell, any other goodies? Do I have to actually hold a tng card in order to use the app?

Thanks for the info.

Some cashiers feel paywave is not secure to them as you don't key in the PIN. They are worried you use a lost/stolen card. So they insist you to use Chip and PIN. Very common in Kuching!
*
Lol... They shouldn't worry much so long as the payment is made, even with a stolen card. I don't think they would be held responsible anyway.

Anyway, will try to observe whether paywave is accepted when using CC next time.

I guess if its a stolen card, owner reports it, no payment will be received by the receiver. hmm.gif

I heard the cashier will always auto (no need customer to ask) ask tab (customer hold) or pin before payment is made in singapore. But here is different.  tongue.gif
*
If owner reported it, the card would be blocked immediately. Hence their worry is baseless.

That should be the case. Tab it is much more convenient. That's the whole idea for contactless card. You'll feel it the most especially when you "drive through"...

Whatever is it, it's their shop, it's their policy. There is nothing we can do...

Same same here. Submitted on 3 Sep and received approval SMS today (e-CCRIS also shows approved).  rclxms.gif

Lol... Yours are fast.

In my case, submitted application on 3rd Aug for VS & quantum via ringgitplus. Quantum approved on 22nd. No news on VS. Called CS after 1 week. Was told that my VS application was cancelled when they received my application. CS helped me to resubmit.

Only received sms today...

VS is approved by PBB but my application for Standard Chartered Justone, which is a lower level credit card was rejected... 😓

Maybe it's time to look into your CCRIS?

From Mar~Sep, I got approval for FCB; PBVI, WMC, VS, QMC & QV; JOP & LFC; YOLO; Citi CBPV; RHBVS; Younique - 12 cards from 7 banks.  tongue.gif
*
Maybe.

But if there is something bad shown in my CCRIS, I think PBB would not hesitate to reject my application too as I'm not their existing customer.

Most likely it was due to I didn't submit my income tax receipt to SCB. I paid online. Hence, no receipt received from LHDN (yet?).

I however did submit my screenshot from bank app showing the payment to LHDN to PBB.

Guess I should try to reapply again with the screenshot...

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 13 2019, 11:54 AM)
We are already existing customers, just added QV which we cancelled earlier. So, maybe different from your case. biggrin.gif

No wonder...

*
I'm new to quantum & vs. I called to get the sst rebate & was asked to spend RM300 per card to get the rebate.

Yet to call them again after spending...

Strange! My QVC has spent more than RM600 cumulatively but it didn't prompt for PIN reset.

In between, I have a purchase on shopee. Could it be the cause? Shopping on shopee considered reset?

your last paywave transaction is OFFLINE (Approval: VLP111)?
The merchant didn't get authorisation code from PB.
*
Anyway to check if it was offline? The print out?

In fact the 2nd last transaction has already exceeded RM500.

Whatever is it, I better get it reset first before the next usage...

Edit: the transactions already appeared in pbe as unposted after minutes... (not sure if it was instant)

yes, check from the bank/terminal slip.

good move to reset first. else, troublesome or forgotten to do later.
from my experience, the transaction that exceeds the RM500 threshold didnt trigger the block. havent tried subsequent transaction to test the limit.

your case, 2nd last transaction already exceeded. last transaction also didnt trigger any block.

could be because PBB count it differently? or other possible reasons, e.g. your last transaction was OFFLINE, so the limit was not validated.
if you want to, try another contactless transaction (smallish amount) and see if it goes through biggrin.gif
*
I'll check & see if I still have the slips.

Don't bother to try since it is specifically spelled out in their terms & conditions. Better just reset it. 😊

Thanks for the reply...
