agree on that, but existing forum rule still in force though.

might need hye to review the thread rules due to few issues (e.g. no suitable TS taking up the job, existing TS already MIA/inactive, etc)

T-5. Threads limit and new thread versions (Postponed until further notice)
The general rule is to close the existing thread when it reaches post of 2500 to allow a refresh of the thread to occur from time to time to keep the discussion/interest of our readers fresh. Given the task of TS is voluntary in nature, a revision to this limit would be set @ 4000. TS are to ensure a refresh of the threads prior to reaching the limit to avoid automatically losing their position as the TS of that thread.

TS not adhering to this rule (during / after the postponement period in effect)
1. Would not be eligible to open any new thread as TS.
2. Assume new TS for an existing TS.
3. New TS position is open for the thread and applications will be considered. If new TS is selected, new thread under new TS will be opened.

flexipay with the upfront fee, i guess that's the calculation. not sure exactly because i would avoid it. biggrin.gif

for quantum flexipay, yes. equal split to 12 months. no additional fee.

What's confusing is, some banks will say 0% interest rate but certain % of management fees or whatever fees they wanna call it.
This Public Bank is the same too, which is why I'm asking here to see what you guys have experienced.
So is it 0% interest and 0% management fees for Quantum cards?  I would like to hear from people who actually took that Flexipay with Quantum, not someone who just read the first line but never tried it before.

again, dont bother use the online form. it's half-online form, half-email.

better fill up the whole PDF form, then attach all the supporting documents via email to PBCS Customer Service <custsvc@publicbank.com.my>

not from your issuing bank/card.

it's between acquiring bank and merchant.

non-otp (2D or non-3D) transactions, the risk is borned by the merchant (if they chose* not to trigger OTP/3D).

if so, the merchant will not tag the transaction as "3D", so your card/issuing bank will just charge your card as-is (without OTP validation). This is why fraud can happen easily.

if merchant tag the transaction as "3D", the issuing bank will trigger OTP to you (cardholder) to verify the transaction it captured. this is why 3D or our SMS OTP implementation solves a lot of fraud transactions coming through the banks.



*why merchant chose 2D? it's mainly due to "user experience". they dont want user to be kept asking to enter OTP. or they want the payment to have seamless flow, like auto-reload, etc.

noticed how TNG ewallet or boost works? 1st time adding card, definitely need OTP. at this stage, your card will be properly validated and then stored securely (encrypted). on subsequent reloads (charging the card), just charge seamlessly without OTP because the card already authenticated earlier (during card saving).


here, we are so used to getting OTP smile.gif it's a little safety net for us in case our card get frauded unknowingly.

probably few things...

1) boost is linked to >1 payment gateway, and their backend swings to different gateway according to traffic or time of day, or any other possibilities

2) boost has different policy in place according to specific amount threshold or count of reloads or count/amount of activities within certain period

3) boost's policy kicks in according to card type or issuing bank

4) or even randomized when to/not to trigger otp laugh.gif

or any mixture of combination of policies/rules that we dont know confused.gif


problem is, we dont know how their payment is configured, and obviously dont know what are their policies/rules (guarded secret)

doesnt matter. wait till b&w is out, then plan ahead.

everyday speculating doesnt change pbb's plan which may have already put in motion.

once pbb sorted out the product feature revision, comms, execution, approvals (mgmt and regulatory), etc; then only we would know the outcome.

you can add card to pbe...

PBe > Profile Maintenance > Manage Profile > Add / Delete Account

or

PBe > Account > PB Card > Add Card

else need to go to branch (last resort)


in pbe, change pin. it would activate the card too.
