Hi sifu sifu sekalian.

I just got my CIMB Platinum cash rebate card few days ago and i wondering if there is limit i can used on a single day?

I actually apply this card to buy furniture. I planning to use the card to buy ard 30k and pay by installment. I can afford to pay by cash but i want to manage my cash flow since the installment is 0%.

Seems like i applied the wrong card rclxub.gif . I though if i opted for installment basis then everything will be fine doh.gif

I think the default credit limit for this card is 4k lol. So it means 1 day i can swipe 4k only right? despite i wan to pay by installment or not.

Hi guys, got a problem here

i made 2 purchases on sept from lazada, but both got cancelled. same items and same amount, the thing is only one refund is reversed to my card and another one still pending. called CS lazada claim its been refunded but sadly when i asked proof of refund, the finance department keep emailing me the proof of refund for transaction that is already refunded into my cc.

been calling and arguing their CS more than 5x the reply from lazada still d same, giving me same proof of refund despite knowing it belongs to different order. so yesterday i called CIMB cs and they give me a dispute form to fill up but on the form im curious on this one statement...

In reference to your request, kindly complete the attached Dispute Declaration form and email to cardcentre@cimb.com or fax to 03-23817198 by 22/12/17.
We will proceed with the necessary once we have received the completed and signed form. Please note that your signature must be endorsed as per our Bank's record.

Please note that there will be RM15.00 sales draft retrieval fee imposed should the transaction be proven genuine and transacted by the cardholder.

why does it mean by RM15 imposed?

Yes. If you are querying about EPP (0% installment).

Not many merchant accept cimb credit card for EPP. Maybank is better, however you may check with CIMB on the latest list of merchant that accept EPP.

So i can safely assume after i spend RM200, i still need to wait until the 30 days is over then only the 2nd RM15 will be posted.

All spending between 18-27 October, only got the money on 13 Dec... So mine took quite a while! My first RM15 was within a few days from cancellation request.

Haha - same! But the only reason I remember is because I made sure the cards were all used for online transactions before 1 November, so I know they were all late October spending.

Yepp! And also waiting for my disputed extra cashback for transactions posted 1 Nov but transacted in late Oct. Once everything is sorted out I'll call to request CS to consolidate credits into my principal.

Ya, wait until Dec statement out, next day the CB only will be credited. Then you only proceed to make payment and cancel card.

i am holding CIMB Petronas Mastercard since 2010.
I never applied for VI. A few months ago, they sent the additional card to me without my knowledge/consent and gave me some cash credit and Premium Lounge vouchers, so I accepted and activated the new card.
CIMB VI gives 0.5% rebate on local transactions and 1% rebate on overseas transactions. Quite good for big amount transactions.
But you may look into Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature (2%/10%, spend up to RM2500 per calander month) or RHB Visa Signature (2%, spend RM3,500-5,000 per statement month). Monthly cashback is capped.

nope another case of completing transaction online but they claim merchant post the transaction offline and hence did not qualify for cash back.

i suppose the transaction date in oct but posting date in nov ended up no 5% rebate case did worth a try to email their CSU and CC to BNM Telelink.

since T&C clearly stated 5% CB in Oct.
if they want to argue posted date delay (Eg transaction on 28 Oct), they should instead add in another clause in their T&C stating transaction completed in Oct need to be posted within how many days or no CB would be granted.

So i can safely assume after i spend RM200, i still need to wait until the 30 days is over then only the 2nd RM15 will be posted.

How long r we given to accumulated the rm200 spend in order to get the 2nd rm15? Is it 30 or 60 days? Did ask the CS but forgotten.

Still haven't got my 2nd RM15 rebate man. I so wanna cancel the card.

Question: Is it possible to transfer the RM15 rebates from supplementary card to the principle card or even transfer to my saving account?

Hey guys, what are your experiences with the KLCC 1 Hour "Instant" Approval?

I've recently went to apply for the CIMB Enrich Platinum MasterCard at the KLCC branch - Instant Approval system was down and they had to put my application through at a later time. It has been 4 days since I've heard back from them. Called up CS and their standard answer has always been "Application In Progress".

Has anyone experienced something similar to this? What was your wait time upon application?

no need to talk much to their cs over the phone.
those cs have no authority and are instructed to tell you all sorts of grandma stories to drag time make empty promise and so perhaps some will frustrated and give up.

just email their cust resolution center and CC copy to BNM telelink.
their CSU will have a specific officer in charge of the case and will follow up by calling you personally.

their cs is a joke.

Just follow up with a email to CSU n cc BNM with the case number.. Bcoz BNM already have a record of similar case for sure.. I’ve waited for more than 1 week n they refuse to response to my email.. i straight away email to bnm n cc them, then only they quickly send me a case number n resolve it in 3 working days.. n the 4.8% credited on 18 Dec

Hi, Sifu here.
I was cancelled my CR card yesterday, today my cimbclicks shown the card CL "0". bye.gif
So, may I know will their system automatically remove link to my cimbclicks ?

Once the CL shown "0", is it mean the card successfully cancelled ?

Hi, Sifu here.
I was cancelled my CR card yesterday, today my cimbclicks shown the card CL "0".  bye.gif
So, may I know will their system automatically remove link to my cimbclicks ?

Once the CL shown "0", is it mean the card successfully cancelled ?
*
give it some days for the removal of the card from Clicks.

Yes. your credit card has been cancelled but u still able to review detail info via cimbclick. U have to call cs to request for terminate Cimbclick online and obtain termination letter from Cimb. Based on my own experienced, i had cancelled my cc after a month but still shown on my ccris report, cs said i gt overpaid RM0.14 thus this card still will shown on ccris, either refund (within 1mth period) or forfeited. Then i request to forfeited all and sent termination letter after 3days. Cs said will remove from ccris on next month, if not u can complaint to BNM.

i am holding CIMB Petronas Mastercard since 2010.

Yes. But I didn't apply for the card and provide any income documents.
I think they are very desperate to increase the number of VI/VS issued.

Then Visa/Mastercard and bank charge (total 2-2.5%) will apply.

"The conversion rate as determined by Mastercard International/VISA International (whichever is applicable) plus an administrative cost of 1%* plus any transaction fee charged by Mastercard or VISA (whichever is applicable)."

Hello guys, I received my Cash Rebate Platinum Mastercard today. It asked me to activate by either call or SMS, so did SMS and got a temporary PIN. But when I go to the cimbclicks website to change PIN it says "we are unable to proceed with your request". I also check under credit card section (my account -> credit card) and it doesnt list any card (empty). Do I need to wait or something?

Edit: Nvm I try with ATM can alrd

Guys, I swipe twice using CIMB rebate card, 1 sup card 1 main holder at SG early this month for hotel payment. Each card swiped 4k + RM after conversion. Today I check my account with the unlimited cash rebate of RM 80 + both account. I thought is capped at RM 30 ? blink.gif Because 4k x 0.02 for foreign currency = RM 80.. drool.gif not bad if that is really no cap

contradicting statement from you le.

if paid in full, means the whole statement amount lor. since you already excluded the cb, then you paid less. it's a known issue with CIMB that any cb awarded is not considered as actual payment.

Just terminate it because your CCRIS will show your approved cards.

Not sure. Always make it as a habit to cancel cards which are not in use.
Even cancelled cards may still be in CCRIS, I kena before for RHB.

I'm thinking to apply CIMB VS since it doesn't have annual fee.. of course VS doesn't have much benefit as well.. but at least VS sometimes has better discount/promotion rate at airport duty free or shopping complexes compared to Platinum cards.

Anyone came across this?

But sometimes, if you opt to pay in home currency (RM), the merchant may have marked up a few % (Dynamic Currency Conversion), so paying in foreign currency may be cheaper!

Yes I means CIMB exchange rate quite high. I will rather stick with my Ambank/PBB sweat.gif
But of course swipe in foreign currency is better than pay with home currency in overseas.

Anyway, it is listed that it will only be delivered after 12 weeks of the campaign? so which means they will send it to our address after that?

Hyee All,

I have CIMB Petronas Platinum Mastercard and CIMB World Mastercard.
Just now I request to terminate my CIMB Petronas Platinum Mastercard
but I accept call center offer RM15(instant) + RM15(spend RM 200 within 1 month)
If I don't terminate the card.

If I spend RM 200 using CIMB World Mastercard, will I get the RM 15?

Cross border won't appear as separate entry in the statement.

I can confirm this as the amount charged by Dell Singapore is 1% more than the invoice that Dell Malaysia issued to me even though both are in RM term.

FML.. I know where went wrong. Usually I pay the balance once the statement out.. but cimb is famous with their statement ready in cimbclicks but when u click inside it is empty. so i see at the balance statement in cimbclicks and just pay that amount without considering that the cashback is already added inside. After I pay the credit limit increase back to original so I didn't feel suspicious.. (I know cb is not consider payment, this I know just that that day on the payment I kena pukau or what I didn't think of that)

Today kena 2 side finance charge. I didn't pay the cb amount which is rm 80 + end up have to pay rm 40 finance charge..really a freaking shark loan cimb.. almost 50% of the balance..gonna cancel all my cards. uselss cimbclicks as well..

On top of daily finance charge (interest); there's also a late payment fee charge too.

QUOTE
1% on the unpaid balance arising from retail transactions and cash advance, subject to a minimum of RM10.00 and a maximum of RM100.00 and will only be imposed if the minimum payment due is not paid by the due date

Kinda pissed me off because I almost every day login to cimbclicks to check my account etc and my main cb card always show zero outstanding balance (the balance actually cb covered it) and i thought everything is ok.. so if cb is not payment why the hell it show in the cimbclicks i dont have outstanding balance. then boom.. next day kena rm 40 finance charge. Is like a freaking trap. Show statement ready, then usually I will straight pay the same day. Click inside, no statement. Go back to check the outstanding balance in the same page, and I pay that amount without thinking there is cb payment inside. Made the mistake already, but all the while outstanding balance is 0.00 shown. No email no sms no phone call to notify i am about to charge because outstanding payment. Is like a hole waiting for you to step.

Btw, possible to waive it ? Is not like I dont want pay or dont have enough money.

Why you don't call the CS for clarification?
Demand the reason of being charged.

The charged amount is too much right if your outstanding is small?
You mentioned that you got zero outstanding balance?

What I meant isn't RM 40+ financial charge too much?

Based on your outstanding of RM 88, it shouldn't that much also right?

Minus of RM 10 as late payment charge, RM 30+ of financial charge based on your outstanding of RM 88 is too high right?

Shouldn't you demand for deeper breakdown on the calculation?

final cash back should be RM 38.81

just call and ask first. then email the details. there's no right way laugh.gif

why dont you post all your transactions (with redacted personal/location info), then let us have a jab in calculating it?

usally the calculation by bank is correct, mostly users misunderstood or miscalculated or transactions not eligible (e.g. diff category or any refund, etc).

hi guys, hope some ppl can help me out here. Usually pay my CIMB Cash Rebate from Cimb Clicks directly on 1st of the month (statement due 17th).

When selecting to pay, do you guys usually click statement balance or full balance? Most of the time, full balance will be higher charge than statement balance.

However, for my DEC 2017 statement, my full balance was lower than statement balance. So of cos la I click full balance.

Come Jan 2018, I kena finance charge rm24. According to the customer rep, it's cause I paid Full balance instead of Statement balance. Wtf? I thought full balance means clear all debt. Not my fault if they included the cash rebate in the calculation right? Anyone kena before?

You have to pay statement balance. It's common for CIMB, they don't treat cash back as a form of payment and will charge you for financial charges.

If it's your first time to be charged, try to ask for waiver. They may consider to waive.

You paid in full and you should not be charged further as you even paid those that had not been stated in the last statement... but for RM24, that's alot too... that's weird... hmm.gif

For CIMB, must pay statement balance. As simple as this. smile.gif
It could be when he paid his full balance that time it is lesser than statement balance after minus off cash back.

I didn't know would kena punish if paid full balance. It's one of the options they gave so happened to be lower. lol not like I sendiri calculate.
All the cash back I thougth they usually only minus off next statement? hmm confused.

Yes, minus off in next statement but you "indirectly" deducted from current statement.

Yes, for CIMB stick to statement balance. Even for all banks, for my ease of calculation, I just stick to statement balance all the time.

CIMB Premier cards - No annual fee.
M2 Premier - minimum spend RM80k/year or annual fee RM800.

Hmm, now I'm slightly worried. For the first time I just paid full for my CIMB cards. The cashback for each card is like just a few cents.
But CIMB doesn't allow paying less than RM1 to my card though.

your cashback, few cents, is always AFTER statement date, right?

so, just pay the statement balance lor. it has no impact

with the few cents excess, you ARE going to use the card for future spending, right? These transactions will effectively offset the few cents anway.

Hmmmm didn't know could ask for waiver. Already just paid everything. Sheesh lesson learnt just to pay statement balance and not full balance.
Exactly. I thought full balance means all settled no further outstanding. Tbh i don't even know how they ended up at rm24.
*
even if u ask for waiver, they will ask u to pay first then credit it back to u later on.
usually there are 2 charges (late payment charge and ?interest rate charge). something like that, u can see the specific term used in your statement
so since u paid for it already. maybe u can just try your luck, call them and ask for waiver. the CS will put in a request for waiver and finger crossed that they approve it

your cashback, few cents, is always AFTER statement date, right?

so, just pay the statement balance lor. it has no impact
with the few cents excess, you ARE going to use the card for future spending, right? These transactions will effectively offset the few cents anway.

I'm actually planning to stop using the card, which is why I paid full. I usually just paid statement.
For a few months, the cards were only used to pay for RM20 Unifi autopay. Now that I have Maybank Barcelona, CIMB CR is now useless, so I'm stashing it in my drawer.

stop using means the card still active, so cimb will still track your payment vs statement balance. all fees are still chargeable to your card.

unless you TERMINATE the card, then your final payment can include the earned cashback. biggrin.gif

Sorry if this is asked before, I got two premium lounge vouchers from my CIMB visa. Can I use that to bring my parents in? I will be present together as well.

I already have other cards to bring myself in.

Make sure you have the CIMB card activated with PIN-ready, and show your boarding pass.
You can request to allow 1 of your parents to enter PPL with 1 voucher.
Not sure if PPL-CIMB will allow you to exercise the 2 vouchers within 1 day. For other cards, usually you can use only once a day, regardless of locations.

Hi guys, i am a bit confused here, regarding the statement and also full balance. For example, my statement balance is
Attached Image

Then here is the amount i saw in my account:
Attached Image

And I paid only the amount after the cash rebate reduction. For all this while i paid only the outstanding amount. Will this kena the finance charge as well? As my current outstanding is RM 0.00.

Thanks.

You need to pay full amount according to statement balance w/o offsetting the cash rebate.

Okay. I just don get the how the mechanism works. I spent RM 137.65 and If let say I pay the statement amount, then what about the amount rebated? Carry forward to the following month? The reason I am asking is because after I paid the amount with the rebate reduction (RM 135.xx), my current outstanding is showing RM 0.00. If it is unsettle, by right the rebate amount ( RM 2.xx) should be shown in the outstanding balance, isn't it?

Thanks.

Yep, I realised my mistake. I thought it's okay to do so, because I read in some other card threads that some people actually wait for CB before paying. I also did the same to my Alliance You:nique this month (that card is obsolete thanks to Maybank Barcelona). Now I need to check if it's okay for that card too.
I'll just pay extra RM1 to my CIMB CR cards just to be safe.

The result won't be so fast as the campaign is still ongoing.
Usually it'll be in mid year (around June time frame).
They will contact and also post the winners list online at CIMB website (including CIMBClicks).

All this kinda spend and win contest, unless you’re a super high spender, very hard to win one.

Last time around, I recalled a close friend who has close to 30k entries but did not win anything also laugh.gif

Random luck sometimes. Most of the time, there are people who spent more than us here combined laugh.gif

Top right of the page.

RM sign. Click on it and view the price in your preferred currency.

If you select different currency, there is selection at the checkout page.
The default is in RM, click on the drop down and you can select to pay at the price you view.

I done it 2x. First in Japanese Yen and USD later.

Hence, I will not wait anymore. I remember the CS said 60 days or I remember wrongly?

1) Cash rebate will folllow transaction date or posting date?

2) If i buy GSC movie ticket online, will it be classified as online purchase or in the entertainment category??

2. Online

I just noticed I actually received my second retention on 8th Feb. It was in my supplementary card. I called to transfer it to my principal card and cancel the supp card, again they tried to retain me with another RM 15 cash back with RM 200 spending. This time I rejected the offer and proceeded to cancel both principal and supp card. Instant transferred all the outstanding after cash back.

At the same time, I asked for CL reduction to 2k (minimum was 1k) on my Enrich Plat card.

Thanks for everything, CIMB CR. I will not keep cards which have no more benefits for me.

Wow! Offer second retention cash back? Looks like CIMB is desperate to retain their card holders. I was offered the RM15 + RM15 (upon RM200 spending) to retain the Cash Rebate platinum card. So I kept it and will cancel it after getting the RM30 cash back brows.gif
Wonder if they'll offer me second retention cash back haha tongue.gif

Yes, second retention. I already got 4xRM 15. I told CS, this is like an endless cycle. laugh.gif
Actually I don't mind getting free RM 15 from them but what I don't like is I will need to pay before deducting cash back or I must spend exact figure to offset. sweat.gif

For you maybe no benefits, but it maybe beneficial for other users.Attached Image
There is still at least 2% rebate for spending below RM3k statement.

Of course I know but I have 2% cash back with no minimum spending using MBB FCB VS. I also have SCB CB Gold to get RM 50 with 1.5k spending. So this 3k is irrelevant to me.

If we were to derive in such a way, all cards have benefits. No need to share the benefits screenshot to me, I'm well aware. smile.gif

Why sometime i will get SMS about my trans from cash rebate?
most of time no SMS, even i spend 300
i did not make any setting on cimbclick
i keep this card because no plan to apply other card to work with samsung pay

edit, just read back few page about finance charge,
and my understand we need pay statement plus CB,
i always pay about after 1 week after closing statement,
and click statement to pay on cimbclick, not full amt,
never have issue finance charge,
but last month i get finance change RM5.51,
i paying wrong amt?

example
balance 1000
CB 0.50
CB 11.00
so i cannot pay 988.50?
i must pay 1000?

It is intended for those who may not aware it is reflected in the first page of the thread and also from CIMB webpage. So that they will not miss the benefits with your statement. not all have other banks cards.

Yes, I totally agree. There are other better options out there with no minumum spending; MBB FCB VS, PBB Quantum 2cards, Ambank True Visa.

I was thinking to cancel this card before,
But this card can have multiple SamsungPay in a day at petrol station with 2% cash back where MBB FC limit to one transaction per day.

That's the reason why I still using this card

I just called to cancel 4 of my supp cards (which already enjoyed the RM15 + RM15 retention last year).

I was re-offered RM15 + RM15.... and I greedily said... OK

3 minutes later, CS calls me and says oops, retention is invalid.

Needless to say, I proceeded to cancel. biggrin.gif

Just to inform on CIMB Lazada Prepaid, the cashback (15% max RM25) is based on transaction date not posting date. I got cashback from a 31st Jan transaction which was posted Feb 2nd.

If you keep it, it will keep record in your CCRIS credit card loan portion lo.

When you hold the VI card, you don't look into cash rebate % or reward points anymore.
Visa Infinite is created for fine dining, playing golf, travelling.
I am more interested in CIMB's benefits and promotions, especially those for premier cards.
(eg Airport Duty Free - 15% discount for CIMB VI but discontinued now)
I tend to use CIMB VI to pay for dining to get better discount/offer/services.

Only RM10/year. But First year AF will be charged first and refunded in the following month.

I just applied cimb lazada prepaid card via cimb clicks. Immediately they gave me my card number , expiry date, and also the Cvv number. Can I use it straight ? Or I need to wait for the physical card to arrive first. And do I need to set PIN for this card?

I think you can use the virtual account already to make payment at Lazada. Later you need to activate the physical card for other transactions and ATM withdrawal.

You will receive the physical card with the same card number, expiry date and 3-digit CVV in 3 working days!
Then you can destroy your record.
Quite similar to AirAsia's Big Prepaid Mastercard, you receive the card number, expiry date and CVV online.

RM279
Less RM25 (CIMBCNY8), Payment RM254. CAMPAIGN 1
Monthly rebate: -RM2.54 - RM25 (max for Jan18)
Special cashback (>RM188) if eligible: -RM18 CAMPAIGN 3
https://www.cimbbank.com.my/content/dam/cim...ard_CNY_ENG.pdf

23-Feb-2018 23-Feb-2018 RM18 CNY REBATE 18.00
21-Feb-2018 21-Feb-2018 15% BONUS CASH REBATE 25.00
01-Feb-2018 29-Jan-2018 Lazada KUALA LUMPUR MY 254.00

So Petronas Giftcard X3: RM279-RM25-RM25-RM18 = RM211
(and -RM2.54 by 25/2)

A good bet. You should receive the special cash back as well.

You have another transaction >RM50 on 29/1-31/1 for Campaign 2?
Or maybe CIMB gave you both cashbacks for campaign 2 (RM50) and campaign 3 (>RM188).

Yes credit limit is part of commitment. If wish to apply other loan in future, try to minimize your credit limit of unuse card.

I apply on 20/2, spend on Lazada 20/2 and 21/2

Already received the normal 1% cashback on 25/2, but still not receive 15% cashback and annual fee waive yet

Kinda weird, I suppose it should receive on 25/3 together with 15% cb and annual fee waive..

cimb called me to offer cimb cash rebate credit card. the thing is, i work here and there and i don't self-contribute to EPF. the caller told to call me again tomorrow to know if i'm interested & i can submit document later. hang up too soon cos i was busy doing something. basically i don't have any official proving document and honestly 50/50 about having credit card. do they usually send the card first and if they deem whatever document i send not strong, they cancel the card?

i only have 3 foreign transaction in feb, that also cannot calculate properly, even calculating using 0.2% also not correct, as one of my transaction is above RM1000, so minimum for 0.2% already RM2, and i'm only getting RM1.64

It seems that at first, CIMB was probably tired of manually crediting the 5% online cashback to CIMB Cash Rebate Cardholders, who decided to report the missing cashback matter to CIMB Customer Resolution Unit and Bank Negara Malaysia.

That may be one of many reasons why CIMB chose to significantly reduce the 5% online cashback to 0.2% online cashback for CIMB Cash Rebate Cardholders.

Well, what to do? We can just stay away from CIMB Credit Cards for now.
