Just to inform on CIMB Lazada Prepaid, the cashback (15% max RM25) is based on transaction date not posting date. I got cashback from a 31st Jan transaction which was posted Feb 2nd.

Not if card auto-approve (you already have banking relationship with CIMB). Otherwise you have to submit documents and wait for their approval....

Actually if you have a Clicks ID which is linked to savings account you can apply. Just that if your Clicks ID is only for credit card (no savings) then can't apply.

I went to bank to open savings account (BSA) for this purpose. My old account was with the Cash Rebate card which cancelled long ago already, could not use that.

Easiest is create a BSA in CIMB (no fee or annual charge) and then use that to create. Then your CC and Lazada card all in one account.

Most banks counter staff will try and con you to say no such thing. In fact you must insist basic savings account then they'll give. I even have an ATM card (limited withdrawals per month) for no annual fee. This is a bank Negara requirement, they can't not have.

Those who have CIMB bank account then it's very fast as they already know who you are and no need to verify. My wife and mother who don't then they have to verify, took longer.

I never understand this sort of statement. As if the bank is a person who du lan you. If their card is good (not like now) why would you avoid benefiting from it just based on past rejection? Banks are not girlfriends.

Every bank/financial institution will not disclose the reason, this is not unique to CIMB.

No way to 'auto-detect'. The only automated system they use is CCRIS, if you're clean there they just take your documents at face value normally if no other red flags. Which is why they don't disclose, let's say you're just at threshold for a certain ratio, when they disclose that then majority of cases will be resubmitted in 6 months ngam ngam meeting whatever ratio it is.

Can, but it's not a "normal" type of account. Some restrictions. E.g. next time if you try to apply for CIMB LAZADA prepaid card (supposed to be through CIMB clicks) they won't allow saying your account not authorized, then CS will ask you to open another clicks account using your savings account. Whereas non CIMB customers no need to do so. Weird one, something to do with their internal systems. The account works for checking bill and statements though.
