Received RM15 x 4 for all my supplementary cards yesterday marked as Retention 2017. This is the 2nd RM15 (for spending RM200).

Hi your highness..what's the lead time for the 2nd RM15 to be posted?
Is it after 30 days when we request to cancel prior to fulfilling the RM200 spending?
*
All spending between 18-27 October, only got the money on 13 Dec... So mine took quite a while! My first RM15 was within a few days from cancellation request.

Same here.... also just receive mine yesterday. It took so long that I forgot when was the last time I use this card.

Haha - same! But the only reason I remember is because I made sure the cards were all used for online transactions before 1 November, so I know they were all late October spending.

Yepp! And also waiting for my disputed extra cashback for transactions posted 1 Nov but transacted in late Oct. Once everything is sorted out I'll call to request CS to consolidate credits into my principal.

Finally received my extra 4.8% cash back nearly 2 weeks after raising dispute claim for October transaction.

Ended up with RM20-30 credit balances on all my 4 supp cards which I requested to be transferred to my principal.

now the cs try to twist which say the missing of 4.8% CB online transaction on Oct should follow posting date.

Mine was refunded. I just wrote one email and refunds processed without question.

Just called and cancelled my card... But didn't ask me to stay or offer me the rm15 rebate...

Aiya... Nevermind already...

I just called to cancel 4 of my supp cards (which already enjoyed the RM15 + RM15 retention last year).

I was re-offered RM15 + RM15.... and I greedily said... OK

3 minutes later, CS calls me and says oops, retention is invalid.

Needless to say, I proceeded to cancel. biggrin.gif

Just a heads up on people booking overseas flight tickets via non-Malaysian airlines.

I booked KLM flight tickets to Europe for nearly RM20k with CIMB CR (since I exhausted all the cashback options from other cards, and didn't have enough CL from my MBB Amex due to maximising BTs). This was a big mistake as CIMB CR does not give cashback on flight tickets, AND, I was charged cross border charges even though the transaction was in RM. To make matters worse, KLM also charges for using CC.... which meant my total "extra charges" were very significant.

This was a very expensive lesson, and I should have thought about it before using my CIMB CR.

As I was so bitter, a few days letter I settled the balance (via BT) and quickly cancelled my card haha. I will reapply after the cooling off period and hopefully get some acquisition offer cashback to recoup my losses.

yeah flights were excluded, didn't you have Aeon or Maybank FCB card ?

Have both but both were totally maxed out on BT hahaha. RM20k spare is very rare on any of my 0% BT cards.

So to conclude,
Someone mention they did not receive any enrich point on bigpay.
this might equal to not getting point from this campaign.

but i will give it a try to hit the 18k spending on big pay in 60 days because assume 6 time 3k withdraw, it only cost RM 36.
just gamble with RM 36, one month credit card cash back already can cover back.

But if someone got the point earlier, pls let me know.
*
I was going to gamble with BP too, but then I checked the "Bonus Points" T&C and it looks too similar to the "Welcome Bonus" points, so I'm guessing very similar exclusions will apply, especially since CIMB ultimately has discretion to define Retail Spending.

To hedge bets, I am considering spending RM3k on "real" retail spending, and RM6k to try and get the 30,000 points. At least the RM25 welcome gift will offset SST, and I can make use of the 0% 6 month BT promotion.

Quick question re CIMB card with annual fees. For Enrich World Elite Mastercard, the annual fee is listed as RM1215.09.

Does this fee get charged upon activation, or only after 1 year?

I note that there is no mention of first year waiver, so I'm just wondering how this works.

The fee gets charged upon activation; within the first statement of your credit card.

Hi guys, I havent been using CIMB CC for a while but just got the Enrich plat and aiming for the 60k Enrich welcome bonus.

Does anyone know if CIMB still charges cross border fee? Is it still 1%?

Need to book tickets on KLM (charged in MYR) costing about 20k++ (which would make me eligible for the 60K Enrich welcome bonus). But thinking twice if this will incur cross border fee.

Yes, CIMB is still charging cross border fees.

Thanks for confirming.

To avoid cross-border fees I changed my strategy and swiped RM18k on CIMB Enrich Plat as part payment for a piano today (and the remaining RM30k on Maybank 36months EZYPAY). Now just gotta wait for my 60k Enrich points smile.gif.

CIMB ENRICH card welcome bonus is in! 60k EM oredi in account. Seems like topping up to bigpay eligible for it 😀

Wow thanks for informing. I didn't dare test with BP so I spent 18k on normal retail.

When did you get the card?

Also, just to confirm, you didn't get normal miles but just the welcome bonus?

I recieved my card in january 2019. RM10k on bigpay, RM9k on retail spending. Spend it within 1 month upon received. I didnt get the normal miles tho.

bigpay was ok and i did some repeated spending at the same retail store ok too.

Since then just keep the card to collect golden lounge voucher.
*
Good strategy. I was also going to do half BP and half retail, but ended swiping 18k as partial payment for a piano (few days after getting the card). Card has been in drawer ever since.

As I only got the card and swiped a couple of weeks ago, I guess I will have to wait a few more months until I see the 60k miles.

Did anyone participate in the recent online acquisition campaign (ended 31 May) for a Petronas card or a coffee machine?

I fulfilled the conditions for the coffee machine in late April, but haven't heard anything from CIMB. Just wondering if anyone has received anything yet.

Need to ask CS for gift arrangement if your spending are valid. Confirm with them yesterday and will deliver within 3day as they promise. Will give them a call again after 3days if no followup.
*
Do you mind sharing when you met the spending conditions? How did you contact them - phone or email?

I emailed them last month and they gave me some generic answer asking me to be patient as gifts not due yet. They didn't answer my question about when I was on the "qualified" list.

My spending is 100% retail purchases exceeding 20k so I should qualify.

Am really late to the TWE party and just applied on 1 Feb. Got my approval SMS this evening and hope it won't take too long to be delivered.

Feeling very silly and kicking myself for not applying when it first launched as I missed out on points for year end holiday and CNY spending, as well as kids school fees.

Once I get this card I'm gonna cancel all my other cards except for M2P and perhaps PBB with the hopes of maxing the promotion period and also hitting the AF waiver threshold.

my suggestion to you is hold to your other cards as TWE campaign is ending on 31 Dec 2023.

we won't know for sure whether CIMB will be extending the campaign so to save the hassle of need to apply back all other cards, it's better to hold on to.

maybe can exclude those cards from banks that always give out really good acquisition offer, like Citibank, HSBC, etc where you will be rewarded handsomely when you apply back 6/12 months later.
*
Thanks for the suggestion. Im defo doing that for Citi. SCB and HSBC so that this TWE year can be the "cooling off" period for sign up offers.

Also thinking to cancel the rest (AMB, HLB, some PBB, Affin, AE0N) as after more than 10 years of cashback mining I'm now focusing on miles. As I get older and cashback rewards are less generous, holding 20+ cards is not as fulfilling as in my younger days.

Will start the culling from the most useless cards first and see how it goes.

Also keen to get TWE supp for my husband. Saw that some people advised going to branch to apply instead of online.
