Hmph. Both of the units that I bought didn't came with it.

I'm trying to find back their preorder deal on their FB page, but unable to find the post that mentioned free micro USB travel adaptor. Huhu

Thanks for the info! Appreciate that.

I guess currently all the CS also don't know or not clear on the direction. Lots of things they need to take into account. This replacement programme is not easy afterall. Imagine Malaysia only 8000 units and many queries. Not to mentioned US and other bigger market. Don't forget, I'm sure they cannot pleased each and every customers as well. Give tempered glass and screen protection, want OTG pendrive and want to say S pen missing. If I am Samsung, I peninglah. tongue.gif

Calculate all the freebies worth of $, free screen protector and screen warranty plus get to unbox twice... considered lucky or unlucky? I agree the troubles that we need to encountered is tremendous but at least we get about RM 1000+ worth of freebies this time pre order?

Nothing out of ordinary. Using the phone as normal. Just never charge overnight or leave the phone beside the bed like listen to spotify to sleep. Using iPhone for that now.

I have that thought for the past 2 days too. Until i kept phobia what if my phone suddenly caught fire in the crowded lift during lunch. What if my phone explode during peak hours in the train. What if it's suddenly have flames when I'm driving. So, I change back to my note5 and wrap note7 keep in box.

Seems like the local telcos won't be stocking up the Note 7 anytime soon judging from the replacement date.

Which is quite a disappointment for me.

With the latest upcoming V20/Pixel/iPhone7, let's just hope the Note 7 can do well.

However, a forummer here has mentioned in the previous thread that there was a case where a Note 7 exploded while it was on idle and was not plugged to an external power source.

Hence, leaving your phone alone may not be safe, depending on where you place it

Galaxy Note 7 recall: F.A.Q.
Wait, what happened again?

Samsung has discovered an issue with the battery of the Note 7 units it has shipped so far. By Samsung’s count, the issue has caused at least 35 incidents where the Note 7 dangerously overheated or caught fire while charging, or soon after charging.

The problem is estimated to affect one device in every 42,000 units. Samsung says it shipped around 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 units so far, so if the estimate is correct, only a few dozen phones sold worldwide are at risk.

Samsung is recalling every Note 7 unit it has shipped and sold so far out of an abundance of caution.

This sounds bad. Should I be worried?

If the “one in every 42,000 units” estimation is correct, the risk of your Note 7 being defective is very, very low. While it’s good to be cautious, there’s little reason to be worried about your phone exploding, catching fire, or even breaking.

Why do phones even catch fire or explode?

Smartphones (and other modern electronic devices) from all manufacturers have been known to catch fire, usually while charging (often through a third-party cable or charger). These incidents are relatively rare, but with hundreds of million units being sold every year, they are bound to happen occasionally.

OHH for feck's sake!! Come on la people.. Stop all this scaring tactics sh*t! While the whole battery situation is pretty serious, what's the point of showing all these pictures which in reality might not be related to the Note7?? And you guys really believe every single news that they publish on the Internet?? So instead of having constructive discussions about the device, the whole thread has become a channel to scared the sh*t out of each other?

First time I heard a widespread issue of a particular phone is burning or exploding. Admittedly, there are cases where phones caught on fire or exploded but it is not as widespread as this.

Next gen iPhone is launching very soon. Sometime competition bring bad too.

Hopefully phone last until end of the month without incident, then those pre-order should be considered quite lucky instead (safe for the hassle and initial scare). We get to use the phone so much in advance, and then get a second new unit plus extra freebies. I applaud Samsung for their thoughtful service recovery

If I am Samsung, I peninglah. tongue.gif

i think these few phones above also offer better performance and reliability over Note7.

Apple better be coming up with something really revolutionary like the Note 7, if not... it will be curtains for them. Looking at the current leaks, I dont see any for now.

Apple hasn't done "revolutionary" since the passing of Jobs. But I don't see curtains for them just yet, not when Samsung's latest and greatest now has the stigma of being a fire hazard...

I know they (SME) have the record. But i purchased from digi, digi will not have the replacement device's record. This is my concern.

From the comments in SME FB, seems the replacement arrangement information wasn't well delivered to their partners at this point. I shall make a call to both careline n digi days after.

join the many of us who have turned off the Note7 and use a temp phone.

even then, might not be a good idea to keep the phone at home -- in case it suddenly catches fire and burns down the house.

i'm trying to find out if we can return before the date...

considering there was mention of latest case where phone was not charging when it caught fire/ exploded...

...and if you've seen the jerry video in last thread and saw how easy it is for the battery to catch fire... i dun think leaving in discharged/ drained is going to be of much help.

samsung didn't say what is causing battery to behave like it is... could be the chip/ control board failure... or could just be there's contaminant... in which case, yes, it can just catch fire.

earlier on, i was one of those who said we should still be able to use the phone till the time to swap. but looking at the number of cases... well, if got spare phone... then i think better just use spare phone for now.

better safe than sorry.

one of the taiwanese videos had a good idea, if you are worried your note7 will burn the house down, just keep your phone in a metal box so any fire is contained within that box.

Just talked to Samsung Careline.
For those who already sent in their phone with box to sc and have yet to get an new replacement unit before the recall announcement, we are require to go to sc and collect the new replacement unit from 29th Sept onwards.

I sent in mine on 25th August. that's mean I'm gonna be note7-less for a whole month... haha

Some update from samsung live chat...

1) Warranty of new unit (replacement) will start from the date of new unit collection, and from the date of old unit. Which is good news. So basically we get extra 1.5 month warranty.

2) Screen protection issue for those already purchased earlier is KIV, further announcement will be made later on this.

I am from Note 3,4, and will definitely continue using N7. Totally it is different feel and quality.
I skipped Note 5 because of missing MicroSD slot.

N7 especially, the size is just nice onto my hand. Honestly, this is best Samsung I ever used.
No plan to jump to other phones although it has some bug here and there. Satisfy with the recall + compensation, plus the freebies was worth for money. This is just my personal opinion and feel.

I will hold on to note 7 and wait replacement, not charging to LG don't really like the design. For safety and avoid any shock surprise just turn off the phone good enuf. Don't scare ppl with 'switch off' time bomb la..

Those bought from telco(s), please allow them some time to figure this out. There should some process communication that will happen between SME and Telco in coming days. Yesterday news released, today certain people jumping and calling telcos and ask for update. I knew their reply would be "Refer to Samsung". It is still too early lah... still got 2weeks plus. Allow them some space.

on a side note (pun unintended)...

this recall and the compensation... scalpers would have sold the sets. but those who did not... extra benefit when selling... can now say it's 2 years warranty.

Nothing is impossible. May or May not. I feel the price will remain same fixed at RM3199.
If you wait 1year, you can get RM2099 from DirectD or SatuGadget. Kidding bro.

additional advice based on the videos posted by forummers:
1. as mentioned before, for those that are totally paranoid, keep your note7 that is not being used in a metal box to contain any fire/explosion. Or else, find out if you can return to the SC earlier

2. for those that are currently using the phone, my personal advice is not to charge the phone to max, maybe stop at 90%, the video noted that the worst case for the phone is overcharging which can cause dramatic effects even when comparing it to puncturing, bending or short circuiting, so best bet is to keep it undercharged slightly.

*
Do we need to personally register the warranty again? since IMEI different already from old unit

What I am thinking is, since any warranty, we also can go back to Samsung, why don't we just get the replacement from Samsung?

IMO Samsung replacement announcement is premature one. As OEM, the should sit down with pre-order partners (courts, telcos, seng heng etc) and streamline replacement mechanism.

for sure people will jump reading sentence like replacement location "original place of collection" coz some people got the phone via courier.

also, people are not static like statues. some going abroad for work, some going places to study. they need to consider all aspect.

and what would happens to people who bought thru grey importers?

Agreed on this. Some places don't even have Authorised Samsung Stores. Travel again all the way to get the replacement? They should be following Samsung Singapore, allow delivery to door steps.

I've sent an email to Courts, hope they would reply. Will update if there's any reply.

I've also Livechat with Samsung CS:

1) Latest update (as mentioned by the CS) - please contact the respective Courts Malaysia to facilitate this exchange

2) She is not aware of FREE 1 year screen protection warranty + FREE tempered glass. But after I told her I saw in FB, she checked and confirmed yes. "customer will get free "Samsung Screen Crack Protection" and "tempered glass screen protection" for the Note 7 replacement"

I think at this moment, the CS is not fully aware of what's happening....

IMHO it's a good thing.. If they handle like pros means they have good experiences on recalls and their past products not reliable... most important we are not short changed..

damn digi, it should announce at the public page, instead of customer ask only tell. zzzzzzzz  ranting.gif
*
how i see it... not just with Digi but with the other Samsung partners as well...

like some forumers have mentioned, Samsung very likely jumped the gun with the announcement and never thought about the process to be used by their other channels. and probably the rest were not aware until they saw the notice/ announcement from Samsung, just like us.

samsung may have the database like IMEI, etc... but their partners don't. how would these partners be able to verify the returned phones?

take warranty registration... my own set is from Digi and i had to still register directly with Samsung for the warranty. so, rightfully, Samsung should be handling all the returns.

to say go back to where we purchased from, Digi, Maxis, SengHeng, Courts, etc... will now have to plan additional resources (man power to call customers and then collect back the sets) just to handle this issue.

Did you asked them why didn't they post that information on their front page?

as i said, my friend contacted them, he got that reply, forwarded it to me.

As of now im not that concern with the replacement since i got somehow a weird unit. Mine never heats up more than 35C at any given time, even fast charge. My friend punya pun sama, both are Digi set.

If you battery is made in CHINA, then you're safe.

ELSE RETURN THAT TIMEBOMB soonest possible
*
from the article/ link:
QUOTE
If it says "manufactured in Korea" or "in Vietnam," well, we'd return the unit to the vendor. Samsung already halted orders for batteries from its embattled SDI subsidiary, which sent its shares into a tailspin today, so all future replacement units of the Note 7 will probably come with ATL pieces or a third sourcing inside anyway.

safe to say all units in Malaysia is "Made in Vietnam". smile.gif

QUOTE(matchut @ Sep 7 2016, 12:59 PM)
and quoting this one:
QUOTE
This news is especially troubling as defective units are more widespread dispelling many theories. Being a Note7 owner currently, it is making me consider switching to my OnePlus 3 until T-Mobile can supply me with a new unit. If you have a backup phone you should seriously consider doing the same.

if now you dont change, later when things happen you have to take full responsibility. If you change and things still happen you can sue Samsung for that.

P.s. just saying only not like you need to go with the legal action.

Just received a call from Samsung Malaysia. He informed me that the replacement will begin from 29th Sept onward at the place I purchased it from.

I then inform them my note 7 is still at sc since 25th August. He told to go collect from the sc then only to exchange at 29th.

It's different from what the Careline told me this morning that my exchange will happen at service centre itself.

Now have wait them to sort it out and give me another call later.

I must say I'm quite satisfy with the recall and replacement arrangement although there are some messes during the announcement.

Owners can get their phone replacement from 29th onward, that being said, you don't have to go on 29th itself, the days after also can

Tried to ask the screen crack thing, they say better call Samsung hotline to clarify as they also dun have info

shinobikit u might wanna check out Digi's own community and maybe just feedback to them as well.

and yes, i have also feedback to them.

but looking at what is happening ATM, even Samsung CS also not really up-to-date.

i guess everyone is just trying to sort it out and make sure we don't have to run around come month end.

so... i guess we can all wait a few more days and see what happens la...

you are assuming it is only the battery problem. as its the first time they are using USB-C type connected, THAT might've been the problem itselves and also the motherboard too as those things are all connected together.

Just talked to Samsung Careline.
For those who already sent in their phone with box to sc and have yet to get an new replacement unit before the recall announcement, we are require to go to sc and collect the new replacement unit from 29th Sept onwards.

I sent in mine on 25th August. that's mean I'm gonna be note7-less for a whole month... haha

I just called and they gave me a different answer aka solution-less. Told me to collect the faulty phone and do the exchange on my own! They have no SOPs I guess. Every agent gives different "solution".

Update: saw your newer posting. Morning and afternoon different answer huh.. they really playing with our feelings

5. Replacement of the Samsung Galaxy Note7 is prior to "1 to 1" – Customer only need to bring the phone.

Means only phone to phone, those accessories no replacement ler..  hmm.gif

I don't think so lah. Will u accept a new phone without box? How we know it has been abused prior?

I will only accept newly SEALED phone with box.

Call Maxis Hotline number - 123. Maxis agent mention that those who received pre-order from Maxis will be getting call from Maxis starting from 8th Sept onwards. According to the agent, they will ask how do we want to do replacement if I am not mistaken. Just give a call to them for further clarification.

That depends on whether if your phone is still with warranty.

Sending to the SC would mean that you will be getting Original parts and expecting professional repair at a higher cost. But due to their KPI in diagnostic, if certain components is found to be faulty they will replace the whole section. Usually cost a bomb if no warranty.

outside shop might not have such practice. LCD crack, replace LCD, no need to replace backlid.

Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.

To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.

She's having second thoughts about buying another newly released device, especially after losing all her personal data stored in the destroyed Note 7, she said.

'If the exploded phone had burned near my head, I would not have been able to write this post,' she said in a popular online forum Thursday, where she shared a photo of the scorched Note 7 and described dousing the flames.

Samsung found that a battery cell made by one of its two battery suppliers caused the phone to catch fire.

Koh Dong-jin, president of Samsung's mobile business refused to name the supplier.

Anybody have any info regarding phone bought from Maxis?
*
This is what the Live Chat responded.. at least their CS team already aware.. rclxms.gif

======================================================

Me:
Hi, want to check regarding the Galaxy Note 7 issue and the recall / REPLACEMENT announcement by Samsung Malaysia. FYI, I bought the Note 7 via maxis zerolution during the early PO in mid Aug 2016. Not sure whether your Customer Service team have been briefed on this?

Samsung Malaysia made an official statement on the Note 7 to REPLACEMENT and require us, from 29 Sept 2016 onwards to collect our new phones at the original place of collection during the last Pre-Order event. “customers may return their existing Galaxy Note7 and collect their new Galaxy Note7 at the place of purchase (original place of collection)” .

So I would like to confirm whether Maxis is aware of this, and whether I can come down to Maxis Pavillion (my previous collection point on 18AUG16) to get the replacement?

Maxis:
Yes we are

Maxis:
And please walk in to the respective Maxis Retail outlet to retun the original Samsung Galaxy Note 7 together with the complete inbox content

Maxis:
Customers can start return the original Samsung Galaxy Note 7 together with the complete inbox content strating from 9 Sept 2016 until 23 Sept if they feel unsafe holding the device.

Me:
Great! good to hear

Maxis:
Customers will be contacted by Maxis starting from 8 Sept on the replacement process

Should be like that IMO.. courts is the only odd one out.. so we can safely assumed they are ill informed and cause havoc during the replacement.. but now is only 7th.. still got 20+ days for them to clarify.. icon_rolleyes.gif

This mean America govt is considering to "campur tangan" in this Samsung Note 7 recall plan. According to some reports, Samsung initiated the recall programme in America without reporting themselves to America's CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) in advance. Because Samsung initiated the recall plan in America on their own without consulting with CPSC, the whole incident became ambiguous and not in proper order. At this moment, some retailers & marts in America are still selling Note 7 in the market. Also, not everyone will go for the recall programme, which the most important question pop up: " how many people decided to keep the phone without returning to samsung?". The number may be not huge, but those kind of people do exist. God knows how many numbers of defective Note 7 will still remain in the market after this.

So here come the question, do you wish to see those people bringing possibly defective Note 7 on board? For FAA. the answer is definitely a big NO NO. So FAA released this announcement to show their concern. Before they make the final decision, they will wait and see if CPSC want to take action on this Note 7 case.

I won't be surprised that in future Note 7 will be banned in any flights, if Samsung do not handle this properly.

Mind you. This is not a "I want to scare the crap outta you" kind of thing. This is a fact. We are talking about taking a plane. Not just some random people walking on the street. If something bad happened to your Note 7 in the plane, then good luck to you and the people who sit surrounding you..

Regarding to those whom bought the warranty extension and screen warranty, i just called up Samsung's CS and they weren't informed of Samsung's action. However, the CS gave me 2 possibilities, which is either full refund or compensation gifts. hmm.gif

Latest update for those who sent their unit to SC before the recall.

SC guy just informed me the current decision from Samsung is to get back your faulty unit and do the exchange with your respective seller, which he himself don't support the idea. He told me to hold on and not collect first cos he will ask Samsung again if it's possible to do the exchange in the service center itself. Can't believe the team who handle the note7 case can come out with such ridiculous decision.

First of all, you are wrong by comparing cap ayam phones to Samsung phones in this case. The whole incident has nothing to do with the brand. it's all about safety issue and public awareness

Those cap ayam devices can go onboard because there's no explosion cases being reported. While for Note 7, the explosion news been reported worldwide. See the difference?

It has nothing to do with the brand. They don't care if you device is cap ayam brand or luxury brand. Once the "ka-boom" news was reported and extended to a very high level, then you are in trouble.

When you get to buy Note 7 is not so important anymore. Right now you better hope that Samsung can go through all these hoo-ha in coming months. If not, probably there won't be any Note 7 for you to buy in the future.

That's the saddest part in this country. Other countries people are concerning about their own safety and make sure their rights is protected. Meanwhile in Malaysia, all you guys can think of is when to get the replacement and what is the compensation.

Good news. Just called the careline. He actually ask us not to do refund, he will escalated to top management and see how they can compensate those already bought the warranty with something diff (same value rm248). Maybe gift, discount voucher etc.
I tell him i also don't want hassle on refund for warranty.

Common sense and play safe pls bring the whole box with all the items in it.

Read carefully on Samsung MY statement pls.....

Replacement Conditions: Customers are required to bring the full box set including a charger and cable; headset and USB Connector
*
Very simple ... if you don't have the charger, cable, headset and USB connector in the box, take these out from the new replacement unit and put them in the old N7 box.

Depends what kind of a samsung phone you are talking about. If dealing with water resistant phones best to go to Samsung center I guess?
*
QUOTE(Sarah Jessica @ Sep 7 2016, 04:23 PM)
best send to Samsung Center. it's their product after all. they know the best how to repair
*
QUOTE(yuhhaur @ Sep 7 2016, 04:24 PM)
That depends on whether if your phone is still with warranty.

Sending to the SC would mean that you will be getting Original parts and expecting professional repair at a higher cost. But due to their KPI in diagnostic, if certain components is found to be faulty they will replace the whole section. Usually cost a bomb if no warranty.

outside shop might not have such practice. LCD crack, replace LCD, no need to replace backlid.

I see. Thanks for you guys opinion on this.

These are the most reasonable comments so far. You guys are right, people here are more concerned on what will happen to their expensive screen protector or body wrap applied, their expensive backcover and their 1 year lcd warranty. Isnt the safety and wellbeing of our ownself the main priority when such issues crop up? Tbh, my note 7 has been lying in my drawer since Samsung announced a recall. I would not want to risk myself or my family just because I paid rm3k for it. Morever, Samsung has already announced a recall and possibly a refund which I think is fair enough.

Some rich ppl switch phone like switching fashion clothes.

But for middle income ppl income like us, eat roti and save few months still can afford 3k phone, but expectation different, the one and only phone.

For rich people different, oh.. note 7 got time bomb issue, then i keep in drawer and use my note 5 or iphone 6s first... the hell.. i only a 4 years old note 2!

If you think that its worth risking your life and limbs for the rm3k u paid for, then I dont have anything to say to you.
To me, no gadget is worth losing sleep over for. I have more important things to take care of. Like mentioned, Samsung is replacing the phone. To me, its case closed.

Yes, Samsung to me is kind enough to make this expensive decision. Not all company dare to do this. Case close and just wait replace the phone.

For rich people different, oh.. note 7 got time bomb issue, then i keep in drawer and use my note 5 or iphone 6s first... the hell.. i only a 4 years old note 2!

Haha. Well, I don't want to comment much because decision lies to individual on what phone to get and what they would do with the phone if it's "faulty". Yes, expectation is high on such an expensive phone. But what has been done wrong, is can't be changed. At least Compensation is made. Samsung can keep quiet and don't reveal it's their mistake. We can use the phone like normal, anything wrong, Samsung can say, it's the user who use the phone differently or give all sorts of reasons.

Honestly, no matter how good a company is, there is bound to be some error in production. Whether the company takes the accountability and admit the mistake or not, it's a different story.

You rather sacrificed your life? then continue use your Note7.

If it sudden exploded inside your pants, then don't blame anyone.

The phone already being in risk level and calling back in progress.

It is wise keep it aside until get replace rather than continue using it as of now.

for those who want to transfer data, you can use smart switch app.

can choose to backup to microsd card or USB OTG drive (like sandisk dual), and then put to the new phone and restore.

that's why we want fast and proper action from samsung and its pre-order to lay out the exchange mechanism... all parties also not properly communicated... somemore exploding is a serious issue, all parties like berlengah lengah take their own sweet time, treating customer like idiot.....

i also want to keep it aside, but what u want me to do? i dont have spare phone anymore... are u telling me to spend another hundreds to buy a spare phone use for one month while putting note7 in drawer? come on, not all ppl rich like someone having multiple phones.

Yea same here...

Waiting for their second call to confirm the proper procedure for us.

Just give them some time. It's probably one of the biggest issue Samsung faced in the past decades.

Just continue to use your phone. Stop immediately when there is any abnormalities.

Scold and complain blindly won't help you to get your replacement quicker.

Take a chill pill and be glad that we are getting a new phone soon. It is definitely great that Samsung announced recall so soon. I couldn't be more satisfy with their decision.

it is not only one, two unit to replace.

It also needs time to produce units for entire replacement and after this incident, more QC needs to involved. If Samsung rush again and again issue happen, then it is a big issue.

Production needs time. it can't be straight said replace then replace.

People advise you but then your respond you are not as rich as others, people is rich? This is something beyond and you not appreciate at all.

You can try ask around your friends, families, surely somebody had old unused phone, does not means must go and buy another unit for temporary usage.

i can't help to say this, i truly understood the frust that pre-owner has, trust me, and i'm one of them, but come on, no point ranting, for real. if you don't have a spare phone, then just use it, like me, i'm using as per normal, but of course with more cautious especially on the temperature side.

i don't get it, you keep bashing, what will you get in the end? you don't prefer the note7, if samsung decides not to fully refund, then get yours and resell it all you want, if you can get the refund good for you. you got no choice to face the deppreciation because you decide so, if you can't afford it, just use it till you can afford it.

The spare phone is J5 which is not suitable for me. I am in e-commerce & mobile app business

My feedback to Maxis & Samsung:

Good afternoon.

The above subject and my live chat with your CS refer.

From your CS I come to know that we are required to return our unit from 09/09-23/09 and only can get our replacement unit on 29/09.

I can’t follow your arrangement because this phone is my only working phone, so can I return it on 29/09 and get the replacement unit at the same time? I am also may go aboard anytime so I need to keep my existing Note 7.

I am in e-commerce & mobile app business so I can’t using a lower grade phone.

FYI the Note 7 case may be become more serious :

http://www.sammobile.com/2016/09/07/the-fa...ublic-aircraft/

http://thenextweb.com/insider/2016/09/04/n...-official/#gref

So the recall may not an ultimate solutions for us.

I have send the copy of this email to Samsung Malaysia via their feedback form too.

samsung should learn from this mistake... never rush things again... last time... the device is fully ready 1 or 2 month after they announce it. we usually officially get the phone on october. never got any of this kind of mishap. this time they really rush the production.

anyone here managed to already get the one-for-one replacement for the bootloop issue and have been subsequently called up by the CS to return the phone on 29 Sep? i noticed my unit's manufacturing date was 18 Aug but the service center couldn't confirm if the battery was affected or not. so far, I'm still waiting for a call from SME after providing my details.

for those who want to transfer data, you can use smart switch app.

can choose to backup to microsd card or USB OTG drive (like sandisk dual), and then put to the new phone and restore.
*
oh... can backup to microSD. not bad... does it backup applications too?

i only used the PC version and it can supposedly backup applications too. guess month end, i'll know how useful is application backup... see can restore or not. smile.gif

Samsung Galaxy Note7 and LG V20 both removed from my wanted list now. Oops

not bad actually... not a fan but i have to say... specs wise and pricing... it's good.

esepcially the plus and 128GB. so close to note7 pricing (in USA). and, there's water resistance now. front cam also pwn Note7. those who are not picky abt OS can actually consider iphone7.

only thing i dun quite like is the note headphone jack. got adaptor... but... troublesome. if they wanna go wireless, go all out la... do wireless charging too and be first phone without any ports.

Some app can't backup & restore i.e. colourdict ...you need to copy all dictionaries data files to device

So best solutions is return and get replacement at the same time

If it is under warranty, it is best send the Samsung center. Otherwise, it is OK to send to handphone shop but make sure you look for a reputable shop. Samsung center parts and services are expensive.

personally, i dun think it's rushed job. as others have said and i also mentioned... in the case of battery, hard to tell since this is not really a design issue but rather manufacturing QC. usually find out when sth happens...

manufacturing of the phone parts is on-going... it's in production all the time.

the parts are all in a warehouse somewhere. just waiting to be assembled and shipped out.

in this case, they probably identified the cause (maybe a bad QC batch of controller chips for battery, or battery itself had contaminant which they can then clean up the plant's assembly area).

so, wait for new batch of batteries... and then send out.

from first reported case, I'm sure Samsung already started investigation. and very sure when cause possibly identified, corrective actions already taken. the 2+ weeks is probably so they have enough time to assemble and ship out.

What is your offer price? Including wireless charger (used few days), Samsung 10800 Power bank (opened box and charged once) and extra travel charger? haha

My set working perfectly and in mint conditions, with original Samsung transparent TPU back cover, Original Samsung Leather Back Cover and a Mercury Jelly Back Cover (Black)

We can deal now and you return it to Maxis KLCC (09/9-23/9) and collect the Replacement Unit on 29/9.
