samsung should learn from this mistake... never rush things again... last time... the device is fully ready 1 or 2 month after they announce it. we usually officially get the phone on october. never got any of this kind of mishap. this time they really rush the production.

personally, i dun think it's rushed job. as others have said and i also mentioned... in the case of battery, hard to tell since this is not really a design issue but rather manufacturing QC. usually find out when sth happens...

or sth gets discovered during random sampling.

Me also consider about selling it ....scare can't bring on to aircraft later

manufacturing of the phone parts is on-going... it's in production all the time.

the parts are all in a warehouse somewhere. just waiting to be assembled and shipped out.

in this case, they probably identified the cause (maybe a bad QC batch of controller chips for battery, or battery itself had contaminant which they can then clean up the plant's assembly area).

so, wait for new batch of batteries... and then send out.

from first reported case, I'm sure Samsung already started investigation. and very sure when cause possibly identified, corrective actions already taken. the 2+ weeks is probably so they have enough time to assemble and ship out.

I think that Samsung is really being dumb here for man up, admitting their mistake and recall all the note 7 back and even give refund.  This action gave those samsung haters the bullets to attack them over and over again despite that they are willing to replace a new unit. Oh wait,  replace a new unit practice is not our culture. Should have keep quiet about it. Face is more important than correcting your mistake. Remember kids, next time don't make a mistake in your life or else apple fags will make you an outcast of society if they found out your past crime/mistake.

They should have do what apple did in year ago.

not surprised since there's now iPhone 7 and v20 soon. at this current price, the other phones look better. so Samsung definitely need to revise price or give lots more freebies.

About the 2nd hand value, I think it will depend on the phone itself. If it's replacement unit, no way it will drop down to below RM 2000. Hell no. Impossible.

But if you are talking about the faulty unit (I still think that some people will not return the phone), RM 1500? May be lah.....

Meh don't care about the price so much. Note series loyalist still buy the phone even though it can blow you away, literally. No other phone that can match the Samsung Note series. Most of the users who already accustomed to the Note phone, change other phone, still go back to the phone even they skip one series.

usually for a solid product like Note7, no need to reduce price so soon. but due to the battery issue affecting their reputation and also new phone launches, Note7 don't really stand a chance at it's current pricing.

and personally for me, I'm still confident of Samsung product.. and the replacement unit I'll be getting soon.

there's already reports that Samsung will consider disabling these phones if they are not returned/ exchanged after certain date.

Yes. Rebranding the name is the only way to bypass those new regulations from Airlines. Not to mention that the name of "Note 7" is now broken due to the incident. Samsung should just change the name immediately so that people can differentiate it easily. Those bad news will be staying forever on the internet and medias. We won't be able to deny that. So Samsung better start from the scratch and relaunch the whole thing with a brand new title. Good to the PR and also the users will feel more comfortable with the new name.

Just my 2 cents.

At least they admit the problem and recall it. Not like the other brand, 'You are holding it wrong' kind of attitude. And that phone is a design flaw. Not counting all those exploding fruit phones that is not widely reported on based what I'm seeing.
