Their 4g network were ran by themselves, only 3g rented from maxis.

It's technically not rent but much more complicated situation and not for all areas. In certain region like East Coast, Maxis and U Mobile share their 3G spectrum and Radio Access Network (RAN).

Max data speed for gprs and edge is 100kbps. Whatsapp text should still load, picture would still load too after few seconds. Gotta forget about loading video or watching youtube tho, literally unuseable biggrin.gif

Oh not! Can I say so those do not have 3G or 2G umobile coverage automatic no signal?
If do so, it is almost like Unifi mobile already...

Better to watch out first their agreement with maxis. Else those who only get 3G or 2G coverage between switch to other telco...

By the way, I got saw the rate of "New U Prepaid Plan", but previously very very old rate called "U Prepaid Plan" already disappear..

So got still somebody still use the legend prepaid plan called "U Prepaid plan"?
I'm currently use "New U prepaid plan". brows.gif

2G agreement still in place they only serve termination notice for 3G. U Mobile claimed that there will be no coverage shrinkage due to this practice as they will cover those are with their equipment some times ago. Only time will tell how true is it.

i will definitely go back to umobile if they got own network instead of using maxis. Maxis is restricting umobile network and make it very slow.. perhaps time will show everything smile.gif

i dont think you can get 100kbps gprs anymore. maxis using part of their 2G 900mhz for 3G. even celcom and digi turn off some 2G tower. signal become weak and take longer to lock. dont talk about sped.

Means that those who still using the handset which max support 3G, will habis cerita internet connections if termination for 3G.
Anyway, let's see how the deal between maxis & umobile..
Hopefully will continue renew for the agreement.

Doesn't looked like they will renew as Maxis didn't expect U Mobile to grow so fast and become their major competitor and U Mobile wouldn't as Maxis is likely to charge them a rate that they could barely profit.

gps signals come from the satellite not from telco. phones can obtain location information from telco towers via triangulation but it is not accurate.

wanted to port-in back to umobile from celcom prepaid because of GX50, but Umobile CS is in holiday mode during weekend.

21Sept - submit via online

22Sept - delivery guy call and delivered SIM card which was pretty fast!

24Sept - key in SIM serial and submit.

25Sept - receive SMS and email regarding mnp request rejected due to contract obligation with celcom, then contact celcom via FB @7.17pm, and asked me to submit request @30Sept, all conversation done within an hour. I actually mnp to Celcom on 26Aug. Initially want to mnp to hotlink but then Maxis Centre The Gardens made mistake put my current telco as "Time" ranting.gif so straight go to Blue Cube setia city mall but the girl tried few times and failed on phone application, back to home and sleep, went to Blue Cube paradigm, 5 mins settled after filling form; it's booth in the middle due to store renovation. rclxms.gif

30Sept - don't know where to resubmit port-in request (as stated in umobile email), poke FB @noon, no replied. Call umobile CS @6:17pm, he tried to submit for me but failed, and teach me 'where to find resubmit section on their mnp page' which is on the top of keying in details, hang up i tried key in TAC few times but failed, "Please be informed that the SIM card provided for your port-in request is not allowed to port-in. For assistance, please contact out customer service at 018 388 1318. Thank you.", guess it was the error message the guy received earlier.
*i'm tech guy it's just their UX problem whistling.gif

Top up credit (Celcom calling rate feaking expensive as well as their data), then i called CS again, a young lady picked up and she asked me to email the screenshot. I captured and send with ordered number. Waiting for 10mins, emailed again if i need to contact them or they will contact me, still no reply.

Called CS again and a mature lady picked up, I said i have issue when resubmit my mnp request, she said email will be replied in 24hours, didn't even asked my ordered number or help to check, i asked about GX50 rebate and she said only successful port-in on 30Sept can enjoy the rebate. mega_shok.gif But when i checked the TnC successful port-in after 30Sept is allowed, not sure if i'm wrong. unsure.gif

I have been facing intermittent connection for almost a month now with my Umobile. I've already reported to Umobile but no action so far. What tips I can try to solve this problem? Would going to Umobile SC and change my simcard helpful?

Same case.
They charged the SST on Sept and Oct.
So you can see SST charged for 2 months

The question is why Oct bill they charged for 1/10-31/10, it should be on Nov bill

I'm at Damansara Utama... The connection used to be good here so I don't know what happened recently. It's really starting to get on my nerves. I want to leave nasty tweets but I see lots of other customers already done that already. sweat.gif

Last time was quite ok, When i was with p78 plan. No this kind of issue. Yes, depending on location plus signal for speed kf connection.
But after the new unlimited plan comes out, its kinda happening quite often, not sure it their facilities cant cater with no of usage etc.

UMobile billing cycle is very funny.
For access fee, they charge you in advance.
Means for bill dated 1st Oct, you're paying for extra calls & sms + others (like roaming) during 1-30 Sept, and access fee for 1-31 Oct.

The thing is we are paying Umobile to use their service.
Regardless of the time, 0.2Mbps is unusable. Unless you are the person that only use WhatsApp or FB lite etc..
Even if in peak hour, we should be able to surf the web, browse through Instagram, fb and maybe watch YouTube videos ( 480p below ).. Don't expect crazy fast speed, but more like usable speed.

its not intermittent. it is prolonged below 1mbps... 1/5 of the speed paid...its not about picky but its about non-usability offered in full bar service area.

I dun think majority of um users dun hv such issue.
Yet they still using due to the price, not the quality.
Yes, we have the rights to have min service, complain to mcmc etc.
But we also have the choice to mnp to others unlike other countries that u have to stay with the operator if u want to keep the number.

Does anyone experiencing line drop from time to time, and probably several times per day, but less than a minute every encounter.

Hey guys. I use the umobile app and pay bills online.

How to opt out from the printed bills that they send to subscribers homes?

Hi guys, just ported in to umobile. Speed seems so good at my hometown.

But i paid rm30(advance access fee)for the port in from digi postpaid to umobile prepaid.

The counter gal say its deposit and will credit to my balance after line is active.

Just now call umobile cs, they say nothing about rm30 in my acc, ask me bring the receipt to shop and ask.

Ytd that counter gal blur blur macam new keep ask advice from superior.

Did she charge me wrongly or is this standard practice?

Very lazy to go to the mall again, hope can get answer here

Thx

Maybe it just like MNP rebate system where u need to subscribe to GX30 first then later they rebate rm10 instead of rm5 to your account

Just singup a month ago to gx50.

Test speed using speedtest is very impresive.. get 5mb download/upload speed as per services offering..

When become to reality..

Im download apps/games is more faster using streamyx 1mbps package rather than 4g coverage umobile gx50..

Im wondering what actual gx50 offering... only number to increase client.. b4 this im was the maxis loyal customer over 15years.. maybe i can try other telco after this.

hello all,
currently on UMI38 plan...willing to change to GX50 and enjoy the rm10 12 month rebate which just add rm2 from my currently package.
the question is how long I do need port out and retain other telco line before I can port in back to umobile and enjoy the rebate?
Can I just activate the other telco line and directly port back to umobile on the same day?
any advise much appreciate.....tq

Need help here guys.

Checking on the apps, my active period is until 17oct (2days left). So, in case i forget, i topup rm10 (for 10days active) today (15oct). When chk status in apps again, it shows my active period is until 25oct NOT 27oct. Meaning the 2days forfeited.

Is that how umobile works? Shouldn't my active period extended from last date?

I dont think there is any speed cap for normal surfing.

However, for plans with video-onz, the cap is there with only standard definition of streaming quality (Pls note that gx50 also have this TnC as well).

Sometimes also set the phone to 3G only. When I called the centre, they usually said that my area is in the middle of 3G and 4G coverage.

But sometimes when I set to 3G only, the coverage is just the same.

Right now just staying to U Mobile only for the sake of unlimited data and call.

Guys, need your help here.

I am interested to have a Umobile data plan. Wanna change cause I always have to pay rm 70 for a rm 50 plan using Maxis.

What is the best plan would you recommend for below rm 40? I do not mind postpaid or prepaid.

Also, what are the possible cons of using Umobile? Is it slow? How is the coverage? Are the charges expensive?

Thanks a lot guys!

Thank you so much for the willingness to help. I am currently staying in Selangor, Subang Jaya to be precise. I use around 5-7 GB a month, and I do not use calls that much, just a normal amount. I just need a plan which costs less than 40 ringgit , and I do not get overcharged too much. I dont even know why I get overcharged rm 20 every month from maxis .

And I hope the plan would be consistent and there would be no upcoming problems for me

I just tested my lie speed. At night. The download speed is less than 1mbps but upload is about 6mbps. This morning after I woke up. Download speed is 10mbps and upload is 6mbps.

Is it normal to have such slow down speed at night? To the point I can't even watch YouTube at all except for 240p??

I'm thinking of leaving umobile because of this. Its just the night time speeds annoying me.

Hi, try take a look umi30 and digi kaki social plan.

If u dont mind to pay a little bit more, gx50 is a good choice too.

Maybe u can buy a prepaid to test the speed and coverage.

Gx50 is a postpaid plan from umobile, where calls and SMS are unlimited.

Gx30 and umi30 are prepaid plan from umobile, where the calls are 14sens per 30sec and the SMS is 12sens per and. Note that umi plan includes 30 minutes free calls to all network.

For digi prepaid plan, their calls and SMS are slightly more exp (30 send per minute and 20 send per sms). Some of their plan e.g. kaki social 38 includes free calls too.

Yup, a lot of them are porting out from umobile due to their poor coverage and speed. My advice is just buy their prepaid sim to test their coverage and speed in your housing area. Maybe your area umobile is good enough for day to day usage.

Hope it helps. 😁

What's the use if the network is only usable in limited area?

Umobile needs to buck up, not just to rely on fanciful marketing to sugarcoat the brand only.

Yup. They really need to upgrade their network asap.
I do noticed some area are upgraded to 4g but the speed is not faster to their 3g network. rclxub.gif

But also thanks to them for letting us getting cheaper package from other service provider. smile.gif

Same case like mine. After nemerous report to them, they called me and said have to change my sim card. I was like wtf. I have ask that the speed is also faced by my wife phone with the umobile but different packages. Same, need to change sim.
And if change have to pay by own at rm10.

Problem is their network is seem not able to cater the increasing no of subsriber lately due to recent packages offered.

What was the other best packages out there? Read digi also faced speed problem in their rm150 plan packages. Last resort might as well change back to Celcom event though it is limited data.

*
In my view, last time it was still ok for the speed under umobile. In my previous plan p78 it still ok, the hotspot given also in considerate speed.

However since the newest plan like gx50 n 30 come out, it getting worst. Even 480p youtube are buffering at my home which was ok last time. Sometimes have to settled with 240 quality. Lately i also facing the intermittent data lost, which until now is not resolved

No, since umobile cs also not giving me warranty the problem will settle. But when im in kl, ie 4G it is ok. I dont believe it due to the sim card

Guys, do U Mobile charge cheaper rate for those that sub Netflix thru carrier billing? Normal rate are RM33, RM42, RM51
U Mobile rate are RM33.90(exclude this), RM41.90 & RM49.90

Does this work with other carriers at all if any of you guys are using?

Yes, the GX30 data subscription will still be usable even if your line lapses into inactive state. Of course, you won't be able to make or send outgoing calls and sms.

Provided your credit is sufficient, the GX30 will likely auto-renew too (despite what the website tnc says).

The VOLTE wifi seems like not very user-friendly.
During the call, it automatic use VOLTE wifi while I'm connecting wi-fi.

Because I use my digi broadband (wifi hotspot connections), the line not very stable.
Something very clear, something no voice...

And I turn off Wi-Fi, so it won't consume the VOLTE wifi..
I though that it will automatically switch to normal under U Mobile network, but who knows straight away "End-call".. shocking.gif

Seems like this technology have bad and good one.. sweat.gif

I'm not sure you can change from or to VoLTE/VoWiFi in the middle of a call; from your description, probably doesn't work.

By the way Digi Broadband by default block Voice over IP calls, maybe that's why it's not handling VoWiFi calls very well.

That why I don't realize until I see the signal looking so good, but during phone conversation quite blur..
I turn off wifi because I know broadband cannot support VOIP.. Who know end call unexpectedly..

Volte can move to vowifi or vice versa
as long as the target has better signal strength
Hence, dun walk here n thr when ur phone are connected to wifi
Else, just disable vowifi if there is option in ur phone

Ya, that why I finally learn about this Vo functions..
Anyway for me, not very user-friendly..

Perhaps might suit for those people who are strong internet connections at Wifi there (example fiber internet) but weak at network signal..

does switching 3g to 4g affect wifi calling? my house having poor 4g signal, so it will always switching between 3g & 4g.

i notice everytime it switches, the wifi calling feature also disconnect and re-connect back. hence my call always cut in the middle.

Hi All,

I saw a new promotion from Umobile: Switch to Umobile GX50 postpaid package, will get RM10 rebate every month for one year.
So generally, u pay RM40/month for GX50 for the 1st year.

Im currently Umobile P38 postpaid user, I talked to SC and the CS said this promotion is valid for non-Umobile porting to Umobile GX50 only. Not for existing Umobile user.

So wanna verify with other Umobile user here. Is it true that existing Umobile user is unable to get this promotion?

Thank you.

Thx

Is it just me or is UMobile’s Free 1gb Fast speed internet unusable? Not only slow but completely unusable.

Here I still have plenty of quota. Can’t even open google.com. It’s not even trying to load the page

The moment I subscribed to UMI. Everything works again.

yup.
that sum up everything about UMobile Customer Service.

Their plan is value for money BUT hor their Customer Service is shiiiit.
I have done complaining so many times until i gave up on them
Even purposely sub to their corporate plan and complaint also shiiittt

Ended up...will never touch UMobile unless want to bypass their speed capped limitation for their latest plan GX30 or GX50
Yea...going to leech them hard on their network whenever possible.
hahaha

So...all UMObile prepaid subscriber...

new number.I bought it at 7 Eleven yesterday around 7.30 pm and the staff at 7E told me to wait 15 min before using it.Around 9pm,i put in the sim and tried *113# and its say try *118# instead. When i enter *118#,it say registiration is not available via USSD.

I called customer service and they told me since i bought the number on 7E,the registiration should be done by the 7E staff which i guess thats why they take my IC to take photo along with the number that i bought.I went to the same 7E that i bought the number and they told me to wait 30 min after take my IC and the number pack to take photo ,again. Now its already more than 2 hours, still i cant use the sim.The staff at 7E told me that umobile line was quite a problem yesterday as their reason.

Is it a regular thing ? I starting to feel fed up with this sim.Maybe i will just throw away this number and bought other telco instead.

To me its a great relief, just imagine your credit stuck inside and you need to top up minimum rm 5 to keep your number not being terminated. By the way i dont mind burn rm 1 every 60 days in this way. Currently theres rm 25 credit inside and this will last me few years

If just to keep the #, you may consider to sell the credit and mnp to unifi mobile

i agree with you, i just quit Umobile using in penang. Hail SKMM a report but granny stories goes on with umobile in the SKMM for a months+ then decided to port out. Barely usable during peak hours 6pm onwards.... 0.5 - 1mbps or less.

Apparently..UMobile is immune to SKMM...really blady fool as usually in the end consumer will port out.
UMobile damn smart playing this waiting game...

Someone should purchase UMobile plan and kaw kaw complain every week....so that SKMM will finally take notice.
UMobile is the asshole coverage ..some more dare to launch unlimited plan without considering upgrading their towers...

mine was network congestion and std reply "will improve but can't give a timeline" etc etc....

I believe high dense area will have problem. In my hometown (sub urban) will be ok and adequate usage of umobile...

in big city or high dense population area is a big no no

this is the second time i give umobile chances, but still umobile failed to deliver, either they are so crowded with user or their backhaul bandwidth to cell tower supply is shortages,.. either no matter what kind of plan is out in future, i confirm will not port back in,.. the only thing convenient is the cimb bank TAC code when port in to umobile nothing need to do, compare to other isp.. 0.5Mbps most of the time is not acceptable,.. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

for prepaid validity extension, number will be become active till the (end of) following day. so for rm1, you can get up to 2 days of active period. rm1 is deducted from main balance, not from credit share balance. going to love umobile again.

you should consider checking the data speed during peak hours. I just quit umobile because of peak hour network congestion in penang.

Just registered for mnp from digi infinite 150 to gx50. Will look how it goes.

I dont like digi being constantly congested and super buffer every night and weekend. Can you imagine having a buffered 144p youtube video? Hence no point for me paying 150+ to have this kind of problem.

You use on phone?
What phone?
Have you try locking to band 3..or band7 or band8?

Unless your location at night is UMobile friendly..
If not UMobile even worse that Digi Infinite150

Just used P99 months ago using Huawei Honor 8. Mostly 3G in my house (indoor) but the speed is stable and better than digi 4g which unstable indoor always chg 4g-3g. Yesterday I check coverage that my area now got Umobile 4G.

Before this I used Honor 8. Being rooted, I can change all the settings including trying to use 5GHz but still same. Buffer all the way.
Now I use Iphone 7 so cant change all that.

My house is near to a university, maybe that caused the congestion. We'll see how Umobile stability at night. But during my last usage P99 months ago, stability is better than digi.

I am aware though of the speed cap, but 5mbps I think is quite ok lah given the price. now got no download, only youtube and netflix streaming (sd is acceptable for me). Anyway we have option to uncap that, so not a problem I think?

Hi guys I think this question has been asked before but I can find some concrete evidence on it.

Currently looking at GX50 plans does it have speed cap? Like Digi? Under 5 mbps? Or like Maxis ? FUP at 300GB? Or like Unifi? Never go really fast. Haha. Just wondering.

U Mobile and B Infinite partnership will be discontinued effective 3 January 2019

Effective 29 November 2018, U Mobile will cease to issue NEW U Card memberships. Existing U Card holders are still entitled to earn BPoints on U Mobile transactions, valid until 3 January 2019 only. Fret not! Existing U Card members can continue to earn BPoints at all B Infinite partners outlets.

Guys, new update from me, successfully ported in gx50 from digi i150.

got digi cs call yesterday but no counter given, directly proceed to port out.

will see how the speed tonight in my home (indoor). So far my first impression is the plan is very affordable. you have unlimited quota for smartphone usage, for hotspot, you can get extra 3gb for only RM3 with no speed cap.

meaning that even i bought extra 3gb for 10 times, only add rm30 to my bill, still cheaper than digi.

I think not necessary must be fully redeem top up at U Mobile. It is just stop collect point to B Infinite if you top up or pay bill for your U Mobile.
If I'm not mistake read from FAQ, you still can collect point for U Card if you pump petrol or eat at Kenny Roger (just take an example only).

The termination just the collect and redeem U Mobile, but not the whole U card.

Only Umobile don't get the Bpoint after 3 Jan 2019, we still can use the Ucard like a Bcard at other participated merchants if not mistaken.

Only Umobile don't get the Bpoint after 3 Jan 2019, we still can use the Ucard like a Bcard at other participated merchants if not mistaken.

Yes.

But UMobile is my primary source for BPoints. I just reached 2 yrs with UMobile (2x points per RM), and now they terminate it.

Yeah, you have to get a new U Mobile simpack from 7Eleven or etc first and get that registered and activated at the shop. Then you can start the online mnp process.

I also receive this via email.

The termination just the collect and redeem U Mobile, but not the whole U card.

yes i know but i mainly use B points to redeem umobile RM2 top up, every 59 days will redeem once to extend the validity 2 days then wait for another 59 days to do the same, but now seldom use i must faster redeem all first and subscribe the survey to the new umobile b card to get points to redeem again

If like that, rather switch to other telco with subscribe 1 year validity more value.
It is more convenience you not need to keep follow up and monitor like this scare the number will terminate..

Testing gx30 for 3 months. So far so good. But the only thing I hate so much is my battery depleted so fast using umobile data compared to celcom. I can get extra 1 hour SOT when use celcom data but umobile suck battery like no tomorrow. Connection seems okay..always get H+..Haizz...thinking to port out to digi (bigbonus rm30/month) but not unlimited..not sure enough or not for my usage.

i'm using only 200 Bpoints for every 61 days which means less than RM20 to maintain the number for 1 year and yet those reload are free and my phone still with the credit.
i got 10 free unifi numbers with 20GB each since Jan 2018 and finish one sim quota on July 2018.
people still can contact me on the umobile while passive period and i'm still able to whatsapp them with unifi data.
by this kinda of rate, i can keep using free while still maintaining my umobile number for the next 5 years but after this move by binfinite and umobile, i think the lowest to top up is RM5...
but still ok la, only thing is need to fork out real cash instead of Bpoints to reload and the good thing is the money still in the number bcos i didn't use it.
i got ways to get the money out and keep the number forever without using any money until the unifi number runs out of data

i also have 10 unifi sim card. but i still need to have voice call . how you pay your voice call? well the reward i receive from umobile is worth more than rm 5 each time i redeem , so basically i only pay rm 5 a year and the value i gain is 52 times more than 1 pay tongue.gif .

I almost everyday grab the thursday giler reward. Almost 1 month can grab 1 time only.
The rest of the day keep mention "Sorry, the redemptions has been full".. bla bla bla..

I think the reward only limit less than 10 only..
Else, it won't be so fast less than 5 sec gone..

The "New Prepaid Plan" is better than power prepaid plan if you want better account validity with 2X. Unfortunately, there is no free internet speed if compare to power prepaid plan and unlimited power plan.

by right should be but there is 3GB quota on hotspot, unless u use Windows Mini PC to hide the information to the telco like what we do last time on Webe

ive try both pc and phones, by right it should deduct from hotspot data. normal hotspot by phones will deduct the data. the purpose to use a router is to get a better signal

webe treat windows mini pc as a smartphone?

Sorry for I did not mention for this. That why just wondering you all take the latest plan.
By the way, the unlimited power plan is more suck than power limited plan.. The power plan also not so good at all due to the call a bit slightly expensive than the old obsolete plan...

I don't use their internet plan because their network is not so stable at all.. Have backup for my digi..
Better than umobile..

But I guess once you migrate to power plan, you cannot migrate to New Prepaid plan. Am I right?
If can migrate back to new prepaid plan, I might plan to upgrade power prepaid plan in the future soon..

u still use a smartphone to receive the signal and use Windows Mini PC as bypass medium to router to hide the hotspot detection
for detail how to do it, just google it

So if your location for UMobile is good...

Hey guys, I'm a signed up with umobile GX50 on November. My first bill just arrived and I'm a little shocked to see that it is RM 110+.

I was told that the initial RM50 that I paid while signing up would be used to offset my first month's bill but it seems like my first month's bill isn't just for my phone bill?

Would love to hear some clarifications from the sifus here. Thanks! biggrin.gif

what i understand is, the RM50 u paid when u sign up is consider as "advance" and to offset first month bill, but you are still require to pay RM50 in the first month bill to offset second month.

or you just think like that, RM50 is deposit, so first month will still bill you RM50++, when you terminate the account, deposit will be refunded to you in 3 months

correct me if i am wrong

but not sure why you got RM110, you sign up 2 GX50 line?

Existing U Card holders are still entitled to earn BPoints on U Mobile transactions, valid until 3 January 2019 only.

based on the red text, does that means the points in our account cannot be use after 3 January? rclxub.gif

Hey! They bill me RM50 for this month also, then another RM60 called advanced access fee. Total RM 110+, but amount to pay is 60+ on the statement. I'm just didn't know that I was going to get charged another month's payment as I was told that first month already paid for with my RM 50 deposit sweat.gif

I think you got the wrong info.
Your RM50 paid is a deposit for the plan you subscribed.
Then, you'll need to pay for the first month RM50 with 6% SST + RM10 stamp fee (one-time). Therefore, it's RM60+.
The RM50 you paid at the time of subscribing is actually used to offset your LAST bill (porting out or termination) with balance credited back to your bank. You'll need to update your bank account no.

Just found out that the GX50 which claims to be "unlimited" is a lie, last month I watch too much drama and it exceed 60GB, then at night my speed is capped at 2mbps, if using tethering the speed is above 40mbps, reported to U Mobile, problem not solved for a whole week, then at the date of bill cycle, right after 0.00am, the speed went back normal.

Hi all.
Ported myself to GX50 online. Received rebated, confirmed by SMS.
Now my first bill statement is such;

Access Fee: RM48.
Other Fee: RM40

Is the extra RM8 on access fee a stamp duty charges?
Is this other fee an advanced access fee?

Thanks.

As long as you can get online, they'll consider it as unlimited. For telco, you cannot browse without data, t only that is considered as LIMITED.
Just like Digi infinite 150 with 1tb data high speed.

Stamp duty is RM10.
You'll need to check you itemized bill for what's the RM8 charges.
BTW, how do you get RM10 rebate, is it one-time?

Itemized bill statement is RM3
15 sen per SMS.
I am considering this as hidden charges since I was not told nor it was stated anywhere in their advertising.

I emailed the customer service to clarify, he found out my bill did not have duty stamp charge so he said he already escalated the matter and will charge on the next bill.

I don't remember Celcom, DiGi and TuneTalk charging me duty stamp after 2012.

Despite the cheap package, I think U-mobile's attitude isn't correct.

I'm aware that we can pay for postpaid by buying prepaid top-up via online store like 11St or Lazada. However, is it possible to pay for postpaid using prepaid softpin?

Hi, does Umobile blocks prepaid simcards from being used inside Mifi / router?

I tried putting the Sim inside Mifi, cannot surf internet but if I use my mobile phone as hotspot - yes.

Is this one of the T&C ?

Thank you for your reply. It confirms my suspicion that Umobile blocks Simcard to be used in Modem Router/ Mifi modem for prepaid SIMs.

Hi guys, im looking for a simple plan for my mum, for unlimited calls and just using data for whatsapp when she is out from home. At home she uses wifi. I was thinking the gx 50 or the basic p38 plan for her. We're in Seremban area so i would appreciate some feedback.

U Mobile case is quite complicated. They have RAN sharing with Maxis for 3G in certain area with agreement until June 2019(definitely not west coast peninsular malaysia), riding on Maxis 2G nationwide and had their own infrastructure for the 4G.

Not that straight forward as 3G RAN sharing is limited to certain area (what area? We don't know as U Mobile is not listed and they have no obligation to divulge that information). U Mobile doesn't share 4G at all so you really need to buy a sim card to try.

u can get very good signal but not speed. If you got hotlink sim and umobile sim at the same time u can realise that hotlink sim is way faster than umobile.

FYI umobile only use maxis 3G not 4g

I had similar problem last week with Umobile at my residential area in Cyber 10, Cyberjaya. Totally no signal at all. After logging numerous support tickets via the app and online portal it got finally rectified.

Hi, any Pocophone F1 user here? Would be better if at Penang Island, do you guys get 4G+ signal ? As I'm using Yoodo but no 4G+ on this phone , maybe caused by the new hardware / network bands etc, so thinking to port out because the community there also too much useless and dumb responses due to activities reward program

Thanks in advance

using gx50 since launched . previously was p48 , upgrade to gx50 after that but in order to enjoy the monthly rm10 rebate, i mnp out and back then.

so far every month discount rm10 , kind of worth it.

my usage not high, monthly is around 10gb max, so far lno complaint on the youtube loading as it always load ahead while i watching. my other line of cost buffer much faster but since gx50 also load ahead while i am watching, so i barely face any lagging ( cant really recall when was the last time i need to wait it to load ).

well, for monthly rm50-10 rebate package, i will maintain this plan til the rebate over only will look around other offer that time.

Yoodo is Celcom's company. So all their equipments are using Celcom's. I dont know why you dont get 4G+. Maybe you should also try to ask Celcom's CS on your issue.

Maybe you're right. According to sources, pocophone only supports 2CA, but only in India. Other countries are out of luck

Just go to their SC and ask them to transfer it to your bank account (instead of cheque).

I'm at Indonesia right now and U Mobile is working as usual as if you are placing call locally. Since I'm visiting rural part of Indonesia, the internet is pretty slow and the call quality suffered noticeably.

using umobile in iphone quite a pain in the butt. most of the time it connected to EDGE in indoor due to stability even got LTE and 3G available.

When I come home, some time need to on off flight mode multiple time just to connect to LTE/3G band.

This is the first time I learnt that prepaid simcards being blocked for Mifi/router... Only Umobile did. Anyone knows where is it specified in the TnC?

I bought a LTE modem and put in Umobile but no internet connection. Thought the modem spoilt. Luckily I saw your reply.
*
Yes4G simcard also cannot be used on a mifi/modem router because of the hotspot features has been disable.

Did you mean I need to root the modem router or mifi?
Wao, that's more problem if I swap to digi sim (in the future) become unable to use..

Based on your link give me one of the seller, it's seems like they slightly twisted the firmware.
But look their screenshot, seems like Unifi SIM (network band 5) not support on that modem. Correct me if I'm not wrong.

They don't block it from your phone as wifi hotspot, but they block it if it's inserted into modem/mifi.

not sure about the firmware, but surely it got hacked/modified.
he claimed that it can support any unlimited sim (digi i80/i100. umobile gx50/gx30 and yes4G datafy with konfem unlimited plan)
yes the mode does not support Unifi sim band5, only Unifi band 38 & band 40 supported.

Wondering how they know or determine that is modem or router one.. sad.gif
If the mac address modem/router itself can determine whether it is modem/router or hp wifi hotspot, then I can say that's the way to trick and change mac address..

I got use U Mobile gilex 30, but the connections seems like not very stable at my area.
Suddenly lost mobile data connections, and automatic change to 3G/HSPA (which is can't load even single whatapps)
And then lost data connections again, go for 4G.. It's seems like frequently change network..

Last few days got try for unifi sim. Unfortunately, my area don't have network band 38 & 40 to support.. cry.gif
Only band 5 can support for unifi 4G connections but my router/modem cannot support network band 5..

This is because it is targeted to use on the mobile devices instead of ‘shared home broadband’.

Sharing over wifi hotspot tends to stress more on the bandwidth, especially when the package is unlimited and there is higher possibility that users can abuse it.

not much choices you have there, but you could try using two yagi directional antenna with 90deg configuration. who know you may got stable 4G signal after that.

Those who have Umobile stable 4G connection and have band 30 & band 40 might best to go with the modem.

So far telco has been blocked of torrent file PLUS this plan (Giler 30) only limit to 3Mbps speed only.
Then how to abuse oh?

If too many users sharing network, they only experience like turtle speed only..
