Just switched over from rm99 plan to the latest GX68  @RM58 plan. Was very straight forward, everything done over the phone and in a couple of hours my plan was active with the new plan already.

For the unlimited data, VPN can bypass for torrent usage? What VPN company do you recommend cheap and good laugh.gif

theres a promotion ongoing with the se and it said u can get from 499? does that mean u need to pay including the postpaid plan itself?
*
499 if u take the p139 and for se 64gb, and if u are existing umobile postpaid user gx or other p plan can get a chance for waive upfront payment...im using gx50 for almost 2 years already can buy p40pro without upfront

Maybe time for you to check out other celcos. .......
.

This is what a person should know and do before subscribing to a celco plan; .......

From the opensignal website, overall best celcos are the Big 3 pioneers, ie Maxis, Celcom and Digi. For best rural coverage, it is Celcom, a GLC - mostly still only 3G network coverage whose Internet speed is about 3Mbps only. The smaller newcomers have good coverage and service in mostly urban and suburban areas, ie UMobile, YES and TM Unifi Mobile. Yoodo, XOX and Tunetalk are MVNOs which lease lines/bandwidth from the Big 3 celcos.

1) Research for the best and suitable offer from celco, eg prepaid or postpaid, data quota or unlimited data, limited speed or unlimited speed, limited or unlimited local calls, do you travel/move around alot?, etc.

1.1) Check the 4G LTE frequency Band support for both your phone and your chosen celco at the devicespecificationsdotcom website and wikipedia, eg most mid-end to high-end Android 8.0 or later phones support all the LTE Bands, U Mobile supports only LTE Band 7/2600MHz, Band 3/1800MHz and Band 1/2100MHz, TM Unifi Mobile supports only LTE Band 5/850MHz, Band 38 and Band 40, etc. Other celcos may use different 4G-LTE Bands, eg Band 8 by Maxis. Low-end Android 8.0 or later phones may not support a few 4G LTE Bands.

2) Check the 4G/3G network coverage map for your chosen celco at their websites or at nperf.com, eg .......
https://www.nperf.com/en/map/MY/-/5763.U-Mo...4023439&zoom=11 - U Mobile

To view cell towers at your locations. Note the cell tower's range for Internet data = usually from 1,000m to 4,000m. - https://opencellid.org/#zoom=16&lat=3.07197&lon=101.61368

https://mcc-mnc-list.com/list - to ID which celco is the cell tower.
UM = 18; Celcom = 13 & 19; Maxis = 12 & 17 & 3 & 503; Digi = 16; TM UF = 11 & 14 & 1 & 153; YES = 15 & 152;
10 = XOX/Maxis/Digi/Celcom

https://www.cellmapper.net/map?MCC=502&MNC=...torColours=true - shows U Mobile 4G LTE cell tower locations.

3) Best to buy a RM10 disposable prepaid Starter Park to do actual speedtest at your various frequented locations for a few days.
Eg got 1 TM Unifi Mobile postpaid unlimited-data RM59 promo with 1-year-contract subscriber did not do this test in April 2020 and later found out his house location could not receive 4G Internet data but could only make 3G calls/SMS. TM diagnosed his problem to be a large highrise building near his house blocking the 4G cell signals.
....... Got another subscriber was given a free mandatory cheaper (than Maxis) postpaid U Mobile P70 plan by his employer/company for normal use at his work-place but after work at his house has no 4G coverage, very slow 3G Internet and could still make 3G calls/sms.

Note that a 4G/3G cell tower has a range of up to 3 miles/5km for Internet data and up to 20 miles for voice calls/SMS. Today, most Internet data runs on 4G LTE while most voice calls/SMS still run on 3G/2G. 3G/2G Internet is much slower. VoLTE is voice calls over 4G LTE. Ensure you have 4G network coverage for Internet data from your preferred celco. 4G+ or LTE-Advanced, if supported by both your phone(= LTE Cat 6 or above) and celco, can give 100+Mbps when there is no network congestion.

Actually bro already used this telco as my 2nd number for about nearly 7 years..bought from a prepaid number then for the last 3 years change to postpaid start with gx50 then i change to p139...appreciate on your advise bro...just that im been thinking why do u charge people with higher price if the speed is just the same as the low price...lucky my main number on maxis, eventought pricey but worth the price i paid...no hard feeling here just want to express the frustration😁

Edit: next year will surely jump to other telco as i have another 1 year contract with this telco

Lower than contracted 4G download speed can be caused by location(= at the fringe of 4G coverage or at higher than 15th floor of a building/condo or at top of a hill), 4G network congestion during peak online traffic hours(= between 8pm and 1am), walls blocking the 4G signal, etc. So, YMMV.

Personally, for around RM140 per month, I'd rather go for postpaid Digi Infinite 150 if 4G network coverage is good and there is no network congestion during peak hours for my locations, eg can use a 4G modem-router for Internet connection to laptops or PCs, monthly FUP of 1TB, etc.

ya..thats why planning on changing.... i've been eyeing on digi also for next telco test...thanks bro for the suggestion
