yo yo guys... i wanna ask a very classic question.. i am not a member of any gym alreayd... my uni's gym also closed...
i am moving 2 a foreign country soon... dont think i can afford a gym there... is it posible i build my whole body with just body weight? so far i managed my upper part of my body with push ups and chin ups... ermm... i know middle section can do situps/'leg up" but havent try... btm legs calf and d rest can just sprint? |

Long Term Goal: Build Muscle and Burn Fat Current Goal: Build Muscle I'm pure ectomorph, gained 16 kg in 5 months, my height is 185cm / 6 feet 1 inch, 5 Months ago my weight is is 57kg, Now my weight is 74kg, 16% body fat (in the pic). ![]() ![]() Note: In my after pictures, my deltoids are actually smaller in real life at that time, but I rolled up a small roll of tissue paper and inserted it on my deltoids during the time of the picture because I actually took the picture to see whether I need more deltoid workouts or not. I was an ecto, not more than 120lbs b4 pumping iron.
I remember my upper arm was 11+ inch and my thigh was not more than 19". I built my right arm to 16 1/4" and left arm 16 3/4" after pump in 1989. My quads were 24". Why was my left arm bigger than my right? My left arm was lagging behind then. I did extra set on my right bicep and ended up out- grown the right. |

It's annoying to hear things like i don't wanna get too big. People assume gaining an inch on chest or even half an inch on arms is easy. It's not. In fact, building a better body builds confidence. And I'm completely at ease when i talk a member of the opposite sex.

i preach bout the confidence part. it definitely does for some reason. also, you tend to talk with your chest sticking out and all. the only sport that pays for hardwork is bodybuilding. unlike other sports, to achieve greater heights, you need talent. but not for bodybuilding. thats the beauty of it.

yeah, well, from what ive learnt from the guys at my gym, is, back is an extremely big muscle. you gotta really whack that fellar. back workouts should be done really heavy, reps range bout 8-10 and get more rests between each intense sets for the muscle to recuperate.

Actually i call it bulking but i am more interested in strength gains,as i know that I'll lose some of it during cutting!

Hour glass shape needs a broad shoulder - which most typical girls frown at cause if they wear the wrong dress, it will make them look 'bigger' If you're not looking to look typically kurus kering then try to do some upper body workout. Swimming is good |

My diet consists of (approved by my nutritionist at the slimming centre): Boiled, grilled or steamed meat (Fish & Chicken.. NO PORK) I take more vegetables and fruits for better food digestion Not all fruits are good for dieting. Obviously durian is one of the sinful food but also mangoes and banana are out of the picture cause it's HIGH IN CALORIE. So if anyone who's on a diet enjoys Mango Special from William or Murni's..better think twice! My morning breakfast (it's okay to eat heavy but nothing too fattening like nasi lemak or mc d's breakfast!): Grilled chicken (avoid drumstick and wings), lettuce and tomatoes or Oatmeals (non-flavoured and with no sugar...go for the original oat) Brunch (for first time dieting and not used to lesser food): Have an apple (green ones). It'll last you till lunch and it's very low in calorie. Green apple is good to keep you stuffed for few hours and won't make you fat at all! Lunch: Salad with meat (chicken / fish). I make a habit of asking the waiter to put the sauce aside on a plate rather than pouring over the dish. If you are making you're own salad and feel that it's too dry, squeeze some lemon juice on it! Lemon doesn't give gastric but lime does! or Boiled sausages with egg whites (NO EGG YOLKS). Can eat until you are full so there is no control of amount. I usually take 2 sausages and 2 egg whites. Tea Time: Yougart! Preferably the low fat ones. When I'm more hardworking at dieting I would get the REAL yougart from Indian shop that is super sour! Then mix with fruits and enjoy. Dinner must be before 7pm.: Soup or Fruits or Both! NO SUPPER! When it comes to drinks I ONLY take water and fresh fruit juices (orange or apple). Try to avoid canned or packet drinks with sugar in it. Of course! Once a week you can enjoy yourself in a good meal with family and friends! Don't push too hard. However, my advice is to see yourself in the long term. Dieting may seem hard and might take forever but it doesn't if you diet and work out at the same time. I don't go for heavy work out since I will get too tired and hungry and might hunt for something to eat. So I simply do lots of hula hoops, steps, air-cycling, or just find chores to do at home! Your mommies will love you! Just don't sit or sleep too long and not activate your metabolism. I won't recommend everyone to go to slimming centre unless your fats are as bad as I had and wanted to lose weight faster. But eating healthy is the IN THING now and I highly recommend! Actually, just do a fair share of cardio...can lose weight edi. I'm sure most of our meal type is fine.
I seldom take salad.....also lost about 10KG. LOL And no...didnt go through starvation mode. =) |

Salad is cheap and cheerful. I used to keep lettuce & cheese in the office fridge and bring grilled BBQ chicken from home. During lunch hour just pop the chicken in the microwave, take the lettuce and cheese, mix it around and I'm a happy camper. Btw lettuce is a lousy vege - it's more than 90% water and doesnt really contain much nutrient - you're better off with broco or good ol' bayam. |

I eat 4 times a day weekdays, 5 times a day weekends.
No problem gaining weight 17 years old, good early start. But don't insult others by saying u don't wanna get big. Problem is you can or not first ? You can't even gain weight. I would say you weight around 60kg... maybe less. |

Oats dunno how to prepare?? That's one meal.
salad take out vege from fridge to mouth, dun even need to prepare. That's another meal. tea-break eat a green apple from fridge, also no need to prepare. That's 3 meals already just like that. prepare lol wut ? |

Is it really that necessary to eat SO many meals? I eat 4 meals a day (granted they are pretty bloody big) and I still managed to move from 75KG-78KG in about a month.
Oh and here's the peculiar part..... I switched my diet to about 60% carbs, 25% protein and the remaining fat. Results? Much better lifting in the gym, pulls and squats are more explosive, I feel more energetic all the time. And I still gain weight The reasoning behind this is because I'm in a performance sport, not an aesthetic sport. Fats [f], requires a lot of oxygen to be processed. I need all the oxygen I have for myself, not to process them fats. Protein[p] digestion, slows down performance which is why it's highly unrecommended to take a protein drink before training. Of course nutrient timing is very important lah....you won't see me gulping a whole oat shake after training of course. |

I read an article saying omega egg is stupid... they feed the hens flakeseeds, hence its eggs are called "omega"... but really, the omega is in the hen, not the eggs. It's just a marketing gimmick. Get ur omega from olive oil or fish or fish oil capsules instead. |

I finally got the nerve to post up a pic.
Was overweight, unhealthy and unhappy at the start of the year with 82kgs of useless flesh on me. I thought i had to resigned to the fate that i was going to be fat until the end of my life, but then i found HnF, saw how danilo, metalfreak and noel lost fat and gain muscles. The best thing about it? they did it without the luxury of a gym JAN 2008 Weight : 82kg Height: 172cm Body fat : 30% August 2008 Weight :75kg Height: same la.. Body fat :24.5% 4.5 percent of fat to go... I also want to post this here bcoz i want this to be a place holder for me, as you can see, theres plenty of room for improvement ![]() ![]() |
