HSBC Credit Cards V.1

I can confirm that for the last 3 years (2012, 2013 & 2014), I did not get annual fee auto waiver for my HSBC Visa Signature even tho I swipe more than 12 times (click on the links I provided below to my articles to learn more). Before you sign up for a HSBC Credit Card, reconfirm if the annual fee is automatically waived with 12 swipes, i.e. get black and white from CS or ask the HSBC agent to show you where this is stated in the T&C.

Below is what cyang81 reported:

QUOTE(cyang81 @ Aug 29 2012, 10:06 PM)
My HSBC Signature have been charge RM600 annual fees on 27/Aug/12 without auto waive.
I have swiped more then 50x @ RM 10K+++
Have to call HSBC CS just now to ask about the annual fees auto waive 12x.
The CS told me now no more auto waive for all HSBC CC except HSBC Advance & Premier.
When I told him to cancel my card, then only he try to offer to waive the annual fees.
But I have to pay RM 600 first for this current statement and HSBC will credit back the annual fees in next statement billing.
*
Main Benefits of HSBC Credit Cards in general
1. Discount at selected merchants (go to HSBC website to learn more)
2. Contest (not sure if this should be a benefit but many members here do win something from time to time).
3. More than 1X Points at selected malls.
4. Travel Insurance for Gold Card.
5. Free Purchase Protection Insurance Coverage for Gold Card.
6. 0% installment plan at selected outlets. Go to HSBC website to see list.

Disadvantage of HSBC Credit Cards versus other cards
1. Reward points 1X only (however you may earn more than 1X Reward Points at selected malls/transactions for limited time subjected to quota)
2. HSBC credit cards promos (i.e. 5X, 8X and 10X Reward Points) are designed to make you spend more money on non-essential stuff. You get 1X points only for essential expenses (TNB, Mobile Phone Bills, Astro, Unifi, etc).
3. HSBC tele-marketing agents will disturb you very frequent and pester you to sign up for their Personal Loans (quickest way to drown in the shit hole of debt).
4. Reward points are not evergreen, good for 3 years only.
5. You get nothing when using it to pump petrol unless there is a promotion by HSBC. Click here to Petrol Thread.

HSBC limited time Balance Transfer Offer
Please note that HSBC do not issue separate account for their Balance Transfer Plan and payment is based on hierarchy. You are advised to understand the terms and conditions before you proceed to apply for their Balance Transfer Plan. Click here to read my article on Balance Transfer Plans - Facts You Need To Know.

Ways to apply for the HSBC Credit Cards
1. Online by clicking on the official website and click Apply Now, the 1st link of this Thread/Post. Usually they offer some kind of welcome gift.
2. If you are in Klang Valley, best place is at Mid Valley on weekends where there are tons of HSBC representatives more than willing to assist you in getting a HSBC Credit Card.

HSBC Customer Service Contact Numbers - In my opinion, they are now the worst and unfriendliness auto tele-answering system in Malaysia as far as Credit Card Customer Service is concerned.
1. HSBC Malaysia Customer Service General Line 1-300-88-1388 or 03-83215400

Useful Information
When calling HSBC Customer Service, select BM instead of English to speak to a Malaysian representative. Thanks to aeiou228 where he posted at FD thread at Main Finance Section.

Notice to HSBC Agents, please click spoiler below:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

NOTE
If you sign up for an online account to check your credit card transactions, you will no longer be issued any paper statements in the mail. So, if you want to have paper statement sent to you monthly, DO NOT sign up for online account.

When we call HSBC to beg for annual fee waiver, nowadays HSBC will tell us to pay the annual fee upfront and then they will credit us back the payment. Well, I won't tolerate that kind of ridiculous insincere offer but will demand that my annual fee be waived on the spot. Click here to read my article titled "My HSBC Visa Signature Pisses Me Off Big Time" where I shared my experience on annual fee waiver for my HSBC Visa Signature and hopefully you can learn a thing or two from it.

user posted image

HSBC also advertised that their Permeir and Visa Signature offers you 5X, 8X and even 10X Reward Points at selected malls and for certain overseas transactions. But what HSBC never tells you is that what they advertised as benefits are not standard card features but limited time promos. And if you did not know, HSBC promos ARE NOT valid all year round but for selected months within a year. And you need to register for HSBC so call card benefits yearly!!!

UPDATE January 2016 - Super Mini Review of the HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum-i

If any of you are considering of signing up for the HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum -i and thinks you're going to get 8% cash back for Petrol and Groceries.. best you click here and read my Introduction To Credit Cards - CC 101 where I will show you the that max cash back for petrol or groceries with the HSBC MPower is 2.35%

Wah, why you get special treatment, i.e. auto waiver without needing to call CS to request for it.

Cash back 8% for >RM2000.
RM100 max cap for platinum and RM50 for Visa Cash back.

Even you spend RM2000 at platinum, when you should have got back RM160 (8%), but it only capped at RM100. So you are not really get 8% also. Am i right?

You are right, they just put 8% there to look like very high..

And somemore effective 2015, below RM2000 is only 3% cash back compared to the previous 5% sad.gif

correct. this card's cashback is a trap.

assuming total spend RM2000, u only get RM100 (max) for the cashback for RM1250 spent.

The remaining RM60 cashback (RM750 spent) is self-subsidized. HSBC only give you RM40 cashback.

yeah, and they keep amending their t&c.
they amended their t&c in 2013 adding in an allocation of rm7.5million fcfs basis.
then amended again in 2014 from rm7.5million to rm5.2million.

those gifts are already budgeted when they run a campaign. it's a gimmick for ppl to rush signing-up and *hope* to get a watch or tablet, etc. those who eligible while stocks available, fine. but how about those large percentage who didnt get anything? the bank still gain at the end.

All i can say is HSBC is full of crap!! I applied the CC to get the watch in August. Got my card in September and did the 1.5k Transaction. And in December i called HSBC to ask what is my status on the watch and the CS told me I was eligible according to the list that came out that week after ages. And just a while ago i called again to see what is the status. The CS told me im not eligible!!! And that I was not in the 2500 first customers. If that is so why did they extend the promotion! They are cheating the public. I am going to write in a complain to HSBC now and CC Bank Negara. Also I am going to see what legal actions can be taken towards them. I going to make them pay!!!

These CB shown in statement as

- Travel Cash Back RM 200.00 CR
- Get Cash Promotion RM 22.00 CR
- ...

They came from few campaigns, e.g. Travel Spend Campaign, Get Cash Promotion (Last Digit of Approval Code)
Here is a link I found: https://www.hsbc.com.my/1/2/personal-bankin...spend-promotion

Other than the Campaign fussy T&C, sometime 'participant' will be requested to reply SMS for a question like "What is the color of HSBC's logo?" etc

Facing the same thing...my case is the ringgitplus free tablet..said i'm entitled when doing card activation, then after a week call again to check on the unique code, the cs said i'm not entitled as the approval date is not within the promo period...scolded the cs and ask why the previous cs said i'm entitled..at the same time i got email ringgitplus, and they said i'm entitled to it...call hsbc again and that cs said i'm entitled...sien

The 3,000 points to 1,000 airmiles is indeed a good deal. But there's a catch

Since it's a limited time promotion feature, there's a promotion period in place. Even if the promotion is extended, the points accrued in the previous promotion period cannot be converted in the next promotion period. I encountered it twice, 1 Jan 2014 - 31 March 2014; and then 1 Apr 2014 - 31 Dec 2014. Now there's 10,000 points that I could not convert to airmiles using the 3:1 ratio

What's worse is, I anticipated that in December, and try to convert all my points in end December 2014, maybe 20th Dec. But the request did not go through, I tried twice. And because the system does not allow you to print a copy of the conversion request, I couldn't prove to the customer service that it took place. mad.gif

My suspicion is, they purposely do this so you burn some points. Next time don't spend on this card towards the end of the year and convert the points before even December

*
Yah, the HSBC 3:1 Enrich conversion is not sincere. Once I call CS and was told I can only redeem 1000 EM!!!!

That's why now I don't even bother to use my HSBC even if they offer 8X points at the malls. Nowadays, I only use my HSBC at places that give me discount.

Guys, better check your online statement for duplicate charge. My Amanah Platinum have a duplicate transaction that I made last week. Called the CS and was informed there was a problem last week and customers has been calling in to report the duplicate transaction.

I want to apply this HSBC card thru RinggitPlus for a free Huawei tablet. But I just cancel HSBC card last year....I think already more than 6 mths, but less than a year.

Do I qualify for the free tablet? I check thru their terms n condition, no mention about this.

I plan to apply the amanah HSBC through ringgit plus to get the huawei tablet.
For amanah platinum, the annual fee is rm240 but it will be waived if swipe 12 times.

I want to double confirm, does that mean that once I applied it will charge rm240 to my bill directly? When my transaction reach 12 times then I call them to waive?

Or is it first year it was waived but subsequent year need 12 swipe?
Also, should I went to non-plantinum since the annual fee is cheaper.

Appreciate anyone can answer me, thank you.

Came across this thread and found it rather interesting. Is ringgitplus a safe platform?

Anyway, just apply any HSBC card and get a free tablet upon approval? I also note that even for platinum cards, rm36000 annual income is enough? shouldnt it be higher or its part of the promo?

Sorry for repeat question, but searching around there doesn't seem to be a limit T&C for the huawei tablet promo from ringgit plus. Anyone knows any different?

Also, if I apply for the card, swipe once (offset GST) then cut it after receive tablet no cost to me right?

Or I could spend the additional RM1500 to get 13% cash back and then cut? Because this card can't fight my Maybank2Kard.

T&C is here https://media.ringgitplus.com/creatives/1f2...68_campaign.pdf

How can u get 13% cash back when spend RM1500?
*
You spend RM1500 you get back RM200 (new first time card only, within first 45 days). 200/1500 = 0.1333

Actually, if I apply the cashback cards and spend RM1500 on the petrol, grocery, dining on weekend I can get 18.33% =p

HSBC credit cards are good as a backup card especially when you are travelling overseas a lot. The rewards and cashback benefits arent as good as other local banks though. One featute I like abt the HSBC card is it can be configured to access yr savings acount and be able to withdraw cash from the savings acct hence there is no need to carry an additional ATM card.

And also if not mistaken, HSBC gold is the only gold level credit card that has Takaful cover.

I got a call from telemarketer saying that my application has been submitted but they did not ask for any documents. Then I received another call from HSBC mobile banker asking for the relevant documents (i thought that they are the same). Later on, I received a call from the telemarketer saying my application got rejected cause there is a duplicate in application.

Now I have told the mobile banker to cancel my application and allow the telemarketer to appeal.

Is this normal or im just unlucky. I have met the criteria by alot and I dont see why I would be rejected.

Yes. But this type of insurance doesn't cover medical insurance. Only limited to flight delay, luggage loss and accident.

hello. new card member here.

I just received my first statement yesterday, but I'm a bit confuse on HSBC cash back system. I have 'cash back earned', but it not listed in statement (like how in other bank, the cash back will deduct credit use in the statement). My statement balance didn't include the cash back earn, so I'm quite confuse now...haha.

Also, when can we expect the rm50 approval bonus & rm200 new card cash rebate ya?

I having the similar problems.
My spending on weekend should entitle for at least 3% cash back, but I only got 0.2%-- useless
Call customer service regarding activation bonus of RM 50, was told that is first come first serve-- not getting RM50
I wouldn't swipe RM 1500 , for so called RM 200 cash back

agent at road show promise RM50 GST will b waived if apply at roadshow -- bull shit
RM 50 charge without failure on to my first statement

In short, I cheated by hsbc, call to cancel the card, the call centre telling the respective agents are busy, (? Too many ppl canceling ), saying that they will call me back in 3 working day, I doubt that they will call me back.
feeling cheated again.

HSBC is not a bank to trust, I advise everyone to avoid this bank.

Now I having problem to cancel my card. cry.gif cry.gif

Normally GST won't be waive in first statement. Usually is 2nd or 3rd statement. For weekend cash back, it will only credited within 60 days after the transaction. Again, will be credited on next or next 2 statement of Ur spending

Call centre told me GST wouldn't b waived,
I not happy they mentioned I not entitled for RM50 activation bonus, which I see it as an alternative to waive my GST

I may buy ur idea on the weekend cash back, but again call centre telling they need 5 working day to count my cash back, I can count for them in a few seconds.

I need to cancel this card now , because I know if I cancel the card by now, the stupid agent will not get any commission for my card. This is what I can do now.

For at least 3% cash back, may refer to their T&C:
1) This Cash Back will be credited into the primary Eligible Cardholders’ highest type of HSBC Amanah Cash Back Card account within 6 weeks after the end of each Participating Month and will be reflected in the following month’s
bill statement.
2) The maximum Cash Back on Petrol, Groceries and Dining is capped at RM 4,000,000 throughout the Programme Period and will be awarded/given out on a first come, first served basis.

FYI, all HSBC promotion T&C already written first come, first served basis.

Despite having a lot of discount in the shopping, the most problematic about hsbc is they are very slow in attending the problem and their customer service call is the worst of all the bank in malaysia..just my view..hate to call their hotline..for sure it will be start of with all staff is busy bla bla bla, wait for 10min then when manage to talk, the CS need to check your details another 15min....waste of time

Call CS to request for waiver. If they approve, you still need to pay before they credit back into your account.

Hi, just wondering anyone here applied your HSBC credit card at one of the booth at Midvalley and got the wrong card delivered to you. I explicitly asked for and saw the agent checked the checkbox of the card I wanted but still.. a lower grade card is delivered. I have called to cancel the card.

I applied via ringgitplus sometime ago. I meet the criteria and have even exceeded the requirements by almost double, but I got a call saying it was rejected. After appeal and again, was told it was unsuccessful. lousy service from hsbc, I had to call them everytime and often lack of updates from them.

I was at MidValley last Sunday, passed by the HSBC promo booth in the center court. The promoter approached me and asked me to apply, but I told her that I already have Visa Plat and Amanah Plat.

She then told me that I can apply to upgrade my 2 current Plat cards to Signature instead.

I was a bit skeptical as she said I will be issued 2 new cards later and my current CL will be combine.

Anyone have done this?

Did they state anything about the requirements? If your annual income meets their requirements, then yes, they will issue Signature card to you.

If not (even though the sales person/promoter said it is possible to apply for Signature), they will issue another Gold MasterCard or something... without your approval/knowledge.

I met the min yearly income, no debt at this stage and my only other cards are Maybank2 Platinum. My point is if I am interested on a card, either give me THE card or reject my application. It is wasting my time to call them to cancel it and at the same time, this behaviour is going to make the bank looks bad. The bank should control and prevent this from happening.

YES U can... nod.gif
ie,

You Got Card A when Applied Card B, You can Request to Consolidate/ Combine the CL (Cards A+B) to have Higher CL with the Condition on: U can ONLY Keep 1 Card Either Card A or Card B

with the Same Similarity here,
You have Card A, Card B.... After get Card C Request Combine CL (Card A+B+C) = NEW CL but with a MUST Potong Either 2 CC from Them to Enjoy the NEW CL from the Card... brows.gif

All These are Subject to Bank Approval... sweat.gif

Based on MY Own Experience an (Amanah Gold + Plat. & Conventional Gold + Plat. then VS Cardholder Since 2011) whistling.gif

I don't have =(

Anyway a question for those who have been using this card, when is the cash-back credited? My first statement shows "cash-back RM4.xx" but in the list of transactions don't show it. So my amount owed is RM XXXX, doesn't seem to deduct cash back amount. Furthermore, I spent over RM2k and so should be getting 8% cashback for grocery spending, which would be much more than RM4.

Not sure how it works, anyone can enlighten me?

Okay thanks! So if my due date is 31st of this month, I'll get the CB (I assume this is the 0.x% cash back) at that date and the wait another month or so for the 8%?

Hi guys, just want to clarify.
I am applying for cc from HSBC.

Their representative asked me whether my parents involved with any politics.
How is that going to influence my application?

Thanks alot

Its to check your status, those who had close relative involved in politics one usually will be categorized as high risk customer for the bank, in terms of money laundering, then they will have to do more investigation befor ethey allow you to be their customer.

I hv been using a HSBC visa card for the past 12 years and have experienced none of the issues you mentioned in your Fb. The only complaint I have is that the telephone CS pinoy reps are extremely annoying.

Perhaps its like you got a lemon of a newly purchased car 😛

Tough luck buddy. Better luck with the Maybank VI.

Of coz ~ as long as there is balance in you credit card account ~ they will charge you interest ~

best practice always pay full or settle not more than 2 months ~

don use it if you cant afford ~ else the interest more than ah long ~

To all of you who applied through Ringgit Plus, just want to ask is the 1st year annual fee waived? Or do we need to swipe 12 times first then call customer service to get a waiver?

If 1st year got annual fee, it is like you are paying your annual fee amount to purchase the Huawei tablet and Sharp in car purifier.

Anyone can enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

You sure the item you selected is within 'selected items'? All Lazada offers I did before either auto-update (Mastercard promo) the price shown just before process payment or give you a code to add in the box above the 'process payment' button.

I have my eye on HSBC Amanah Mpower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i or HSBC Amanah Mpower Visa Credit Card-i due to AT LEAST 3% cashback (capped) to RM100

But in Ringgit plus stated the AF waived if 12 times swipe for the platinum card but not the non-platinum? Is the T&C really applicable for these 2 cards?

If I already got my Huawei Tab early this year from OCBC application, am I entitled for another this year thru HSBC card?

Just to confirm again, the total monthly spend is based on calendar month and not statement month, am I right? Eg. If I spend rm2000 in May, I can get 8% cash back on my May weekend dining/groceries/petrol up to RM100, am I right?

I think is statement month. Please spend above RM 2100 as I noticed some months I only received 3% even though I spend RM 2001. I think spending rm2k must exclude the rm 100 cash back.

HSBC Amanah is CHEATER!!! Don't apply for this card.

1) I apply 3 months 0% BT. Suddenly this month, I was charge with Management Fee. Calling Customer Service, they say if we have BT, all retail transaction will automatic will be charge management charge...this is seriously cheating. No one telling me this IMPORTANT clause when I apply for the BT. I would use other cards if I know this clause.

2) Welcome bonus RM50...suddenly they say it first come first serve basis. I don't keep any hope anymore.

3) Cash back bonus RM200 for new credit cards. They did say that it is limited quantity, but blarghhh....why still using this to promote if you can roughly estimate that it is already fulfill long ago.

4) They say petrol transaction will get 3% cashback if spend less than RM2k...but I only get the normal 0.2% even though swipe at pump.

Will terminate this card soon.

if your statement is RM200 and your current outstanding only RM100 (RM200 statement balance - RM100 annual fee) then you just have to pay the remaining outstanding balance. if current outstanding balance is lesser than your statement, why should you still pay according to the statement balance?

Ya, that's my point too.. I called to check wat is my outstanding balAnce as at now as cs confirmed that they have waive my annual fee n credited to my acc. My payment due on 15 May, that's y I want them to confirm the annual fee has been reversed. But the cs warned me that if I didn't pay according to my statement balance, I might have finance charges.. So I just can't understand the logic. Worried HSBC amanah structure is so much diff with other conventional bank. That's y want to check with u guys whether anyone experienced such issue.

My situation now is as statement balance 200, outstanding balance as at today after annual fee reversal is 100. So, I just pay 100.

ha....now i remember...i encountered almost the same situation, except in my case it was a refund. My statement was 200, then there was a refund of RM50 credited to the CC. So then I only paid the remaining RM150, then i kena charge...i went to the branch and showed this to the officer, then he told me this...somehow their system does not consider refund code as a payment code, WTH??!! hence i considered as not yet pay. The officer reversed the charges anyway. But this is local bank...but HSBC oso like that ka???!!!

So my advise, if you rajin to go to the bank to deal with the charges later (if kena), just pay the remaining, otherwise pay la according to the statement. You can still use the remaining surplus in the CC later

Congrats bro! Hope I can get a call asap too..My case is rather complicated.. HSBC sent the card to a wrong mailing address last time, and they reissued a new card.. I checked with them, my replacement card was eligible to win the phone and in the list, but the first one, which didn't ever reach me is obviously not in the list. Fingers crossed..

The BT is pay minimum 5% or RM50 but must settle within 3 months (it's 3 months 0% new comers promo). I have confirm with CS that the management fee is due to retail transaction. No free interest for retail if having BT. It also proven in my second statement that have no retail, thus no management fee.

If I'm not mistaken, it's took only about 1 week. You can email or call the staff that manage your application to expedite.

I have made full settlement and decide to cancel the card soon. Good bye HSBC cool2.gif

https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/HSBC/
Just though i'd share - I already applied through them and got my card but with the tablet sad.gif

I have applied for the HSBC card through Ringgitplus, and the Rep called back on 18-May. After the call, I am supposed to receive an email regarding the supporting documentations to be submitted. However after 2 days, I have yet receive such email. I have tried to call the number 03-20599277 (I think this is the HSBC card call center), but always got the message that all operators are busy, and disconnected automatically.

Any advice on what I should do? Thank you.

I didn't encounter this problem when apply through ringgitplus. They immediately send the email after the call.
Maybe you can try call them again on non busy time like after 10/11pm.
If you apply Amanah credit card, you can try this number: 1300-80-2626 or 03 8321 5200

it depends from promo to promo.

current RP promo, BlackBerry Z3, allow existing hsbc cardholder to get the free gift.

do read the T&Cs.

And Telesales Staff will be contacting soon to continue with your application.

In the meantime, prepare some documents needed to speed up the application.

For AF, example, MPower Visa Platinum, since no auto waived for FIRST year, do they charge the AF to your card once approved, then only can call to waive after completed 12 swipes?

The T&C with * is very tricky.

No, Usually they X charging you AF on the 1st year, for NEW Approved CC.

Yup, for the subsequent years U need min. 12x swipes to get Auto Annual Fee waiver...

Me having their CC (MPower Visa Plat. + Visa Signature) since 2011, Never being charged a single cent of Annual fees

How ironic when they said this in their email, "...We've received your credit card application and it's currently being processed. We're a speedy bunch, so we'll be in touch with you very soon!..."

But I've been waiting for a call since 19th May!

Are they, RP, always this slow?

all these promos are customer acquisition program, not to reward existing customers.

u use 1mil on their cards also, they don't care smile.gif

all they want is to increase customer base, because eventually these customers will generate revenue for the banks.

if u have no use of the card, then terminate lor.

depends on the promotion, some promo T&Cs requires you NOT to hold existing card within 6-12month.

For HSBC's recent promos (Blackberry and Apple TV), the freebies from RinggitPlus doesnt have this term, but it require your card to be APPROVED by the bank, so the term still depends on the bank itself (whether they allow you to reregister again within short period of time).

loyal customer = spending with the card = automatically slave to them (bank) ... so, why bank want to reward you? biggrin.gif

all banks want NEW customers, either their money via depositing or loans via credit facilities. so, majority of the signup promos are to entice/lure you!

you want promo for being loyal? got mah, SPEND more with their cards, get "rewarded", and they will hope you lapse your outstanding repayment and make more money from the interests.

some query on this card: HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card‐i
1) for petrol spends, if i swipe at petrol dispenser or petrol station cashier counter, doesn't matter right? both also will be accumulated as in the (3% or 8%) counter ?
2) as long as my spendings in (petrol / dining / grocery) is exceeding RM2000.00, then the my rebate for weekend spendings will be 8%? -- will be 0.2% instead?
3) those spendings not falls under #2, will not be entitled for any rebate or accumulation of (3%/8%) right?

example:
weekday petrol at shell RM1500.00
weekend petrol at shell RM800.00
===========
so in total i will get 800*8% = RM64.00 for the cash rebate?

thanks in advance!

You will be getting total of RM67.00 - (RM800 * 8%) + (RM1500 * 0.2%) if you have a MPower Visa Platinum, as the Cash Back Capping/ Month is RM100. On the other hand, Maximum Cash Capping/ Month for MPower Visa is RM50/ Month.

Guys,

I received this text from 66600 a few days ago. Not sure what to make of it.

"RM0.00 From HSBC : Yr statement for credit card ending 0xxx is being delivered. Statement balance:RM 19,444.94. Min Amt Due:RM 19,444.94 by 19/06/2015"

I've never been an HSBC card user before plus I'm still waiting for a call for my application (Z3 promo) which I've submitted since the 19th.

Any ideas?

Doubtful. How can minimum amount due is equal to your statement balance? Usually it's 5% from your total bill. Call CS immediately?

so other retail expenses can be accumulated in the RM2000.00 pool and thus weekend spending can upgrade from 3% to 8% biggrin.gif

So in order to maximize the rebate, you want to swipe as much as possible during weekend within the selected categories, eg swipe all RM2000, entitled 8%, rebate RM100, effective rebate is 5% only.

Or

Swipe RM1250 within the categories during weekend, the balance RM750 outside the categories = (RM1250 * 8%) + (RM750 * 0.2%) = RM100 + RM1.50, effective rebate is about 5.075%?

Please correct me if Im wrong here. notworthy.gif

My experience is you need to spend RM2100 each month to get 8%. Because the RM100 rebate from previous month is not included. Eg if you spend RM2000 in May, but you get rebate RM100(for rebates on March).,then your spending is only 1900. Rebates become 3%. To be safe, spend RM 2100 each month.

*
That doesn't make sense, the rebate should not be calculated into the monthly spending, ie offset the total spending right? If I spend RM2000 and get RM100 every month, can the bank say I only spend RM1900 per month? doh.gif

HSBC rebate system is very complicated. To track the rebate also very difficult. The weekends rebate is to be rebate 6-8 weeks later. The weekday rebate is on other interval. To call CS and talk to a human is very time consuming in HSBC. At times , you could just sit there and waited 30 mins. Sometimes, I met with some unprofessional CS. Then I need to call like 10 times to solve an issue. At the end, I rather just spend extra 100.

Huawei tab is RM699??? Like seriously??!!

Or you can choose Tesco voucher for RM200?? Notice the differences between RM699 to RM200?? HAHHAHAA

But why did not they replace with the apple tv instead? it is still on going promo right?

Whatever it is better cancel my application la, wait for better promo hahaha

Don't worry on credit limit here. My experience with hsbc is first few months they gave me low credit limit. After few months, if u settle the payment on time, they will offer you higher credit limit. For my case, initially only have 7k. Later on, they called me and ask me how much limit I want. I was surprised and speechless. Then i say give me 3 times. CS said ok n asked few questions to verify...that easy!

Received and activated my card. CS said the code will be emailed to me.

add:
Received the email with the code in 2 hours (take note, it is on the same day).
Keyed in the code and it sent a PIN to my phone.
Guess what? I get the Blackberry z3 (stated to be worth RM700) laugh.gif

I've been using HSBC Amanah Mpower Platinum for 3 years, suddenly my statement got annual fee charged to me, I thought if I make 12 swipes per year they will waive the fee, is there no more such condition? They never inform me about that

Yes..RP is genuine but offer from HSBC is not genuine. My card was approved since Oct last year. Redeemed Free Tablet from RP and received within a few weeks. But thats not the case for Free HTC HP from HSBC. CS said my name is in the list for HTC Desire. Up until today, no news of FREE HTC for me. Will terminate soon.

Read all those replies above.

Anyway this is my experience.

Got cc and activated (same day) on 11/06/2015, called HSBC cs on 12/06/2015 regarding code. Was shocked to find out my name wasn't on the request list for the free gift. But the cs was nice and he immediately put in a request for me. Got my unique code yday 15/6/2015.

So call cs if u still havent got your unique code. According to him, since high volume, the HSBC marketing dept may have missed out my name, so individual request is much appreciated.
