not sure if this was asked before...so if i already have an exisiting hsbc card, i can still apply for another hsbc card under RinggitPlus to be eligible for the free gift?
*
only if the conditions do not mention 'new to bank' customers only.

Alright so can't swipe at pubs, got it.

Btw, what will happen if I cancel after 1-2 months instead of a year?  Since there's not much benefits I'm getting from this CC anyways. But I mean I can still keep this card for some groceries purchases from time to time, just that it wouldn't be much use to me other than that and adding bulk to my wallet wherever I go.  blink.gif
*
You can call in to try cancel the card. But the CS may try their best to convince you in keeping it.
the rest is up to you.

errm, this offer also for existing card. i think it is too late to apply now and it will take time to get the card to spend.
It will be rather good for existing card.
*
this is an ongoing feature - so there is no deadline to participate as I was told.

HSBC CS is famous for long waiting time. Sometimes, when we call at wrong hour, might need to wait for 30+ mins. that is the main drawback for HSBC. Everyone know that. They themself also know that.
*
suddenly i have a visual imagination of HSBC's call center. Small office, single cubicle, 1 agent, 1 phone. that's it.

Applied HSBC 2 weeks ago.

No one called to verify anything, although in the past experience, bank will call just to make sure the contact number is valid.

I called to check on the status via their IVR, it says 'No record found'.
An hour later, received an email saying my card has been approved and will be delivered in 10 days.

Huh?? Just how reliable is their IVR, judge it yourself.

Received my new card today.

While calling up to activate the card, i took the opportunity to ask about Balance Transfer. The CS was kind and polite enough to explain it to me.

So, it's confirmed that, when you perform BT,
- Any retail transaction done will incur 18% per annum interest 'IMMEDIATELY'! So, wise thing to do is to keep the card in the drawer until you fully settled the outstanding.
- The whole outstanding amount will appear on the card
- If you opt for 0% interest for X month, you can choose to pay the minimum 5% of your outstanding amount for month 1, until X-1. At month X, you must pay off the total outstanding, or 18% interest will be imposed on the outstanding amount.

For the last bit, it's good and bad in a way. If you are disciplined enough, you can try out the 5% repayment + final full settlement. Otherwise, please set a repayment schedule for yourself.

Good thing is, at month X, you can do another BT to pay off HSBC to continue the repayment on another financial institution. But please please please be diligent or else you will end up in the trap you set for your own.

Just confirm one thing, how about example below ?

BT RM2k with 0% for 6 months. Month 1, when statement come, if I straight away bank in RM2k, what would happen on my next statement ? Is it reducing balance until the end of BT ??
*
Ypu are doing early settlement? I didn't ask about that,, but the did tell me it's reducing balance. Make sure there is no penalty for early settlement. Share with us when you found out.

I have purchased something with Cash Installment Plan. During my second month installment it appeared something like "cash installment management fee" which cost about RM10.

May I know what is this and is this normal that I'm being charged with this management fee? Because I've never been informed by any HSBC staff regarding this fee.
*
you should call up CS and ask. this could be an ongoing fee every month. i am thinking it's a flat interest on your CIP.

Hello Everybody, i'm desperate seeking for help.
I feel very confuse that I probably get cheated by HSBC.
I'm not sure i'm posting at the correct thread and apologize if i didn't.

My scenario
I swipe my HSBC AMANAH Visa card on Feb-16 for amt RM5k when I fail to apply personnal loan as all bank rejected me. This is my 1st credit card.
I swipe cash via my fren(mechant) who is kind enough to cash back (after take a certain%). I'm sure everyone know this trick for business turnover.
I call the CS up and request them to convert it into 12 mths 0% installment plan.
Payment method via auto debit from HSBC Saving account.
So, been paying 416.66 (12mths).

From time to time, i check the billing seems legit.
I feel something wrong with the amt during Oct-15, (seems the amt keep increase) and i seek my fren advice. He said it seems some sort of admin fee and i believe him as is small amt.

After that I went to SG to work, I only went back to hometown on Mar-16.
After open CC statement, I found out that I own HSBC another RM3.7K+.

I call the customer service up and check. He told me that my installment plan was fully paid on Feb-16. However, I only pay the minimal amount. The RM3k is the interest charges and stuff.

I was so depress and confuse right now. I desperate seeking advice what is my available option at this moment.

I thank in advance if anyone could advise me what to do.
*
Have you called up the CS to check on this?

I know that HSBC Balance Transfer allows you to pay minimum amount interest free according to that specific promotion you opted for.
Installment plan may work differently, but I am not sure. Best to check with CS.

as someone who just received and activated my HSBC card, i'd advise those who want to apply to stay away from this bank. Bloody lot of t&c that keeps changing from month to month. And i just found out that i might not even be eligable for the sign up cashback bonus their credit card agent was promoting. Apparently there's a fine print stating that only first 1000 ppl will get the RM 400 cashback for charging RM 3,000 to the card.

Also now apparently transaction for Utilities does not earn reward points...

can go fly kite la this card...
*
I too, have applied for this card during the promo. And the brochure for the sign up cash rebate is limited to 1000 was clearly written there. Perhaps you missed it?
