Also, if I apply for the card, swipe once (offset GST) then cut it after receive tablet no cost to me right?

You spend RM1500 you get back RM200 (new first time card only, within first 45 days). 200/1500 = 0.1333

Actually, if I apply the cashback cards and spend RM1500 on the petrol, grocery, dining on weekend I can get 18.33% =p

Anyway a question for those who have been using this card, when is the cash-back credited? My first statement shows "cash-back RM4.xx" but in the list of transactions don't show it. So my amount owed is RM XXXX, doesn't seem to deduct cash back amount. Furthermore, I spent over RM2k and so should be getting 8% cashback for grocery spending, which would be much more than RM4.

Not sure how it works, anyone can enlighten me?

You sure the item you selected is within 'selected items'? All Lazada offers I did before either auto-update (Mastercard promo) the price shown just before process payment or give you a code to add in the box above the 'process payment' button.

Actually capping is very important if you want to maximize your cashback.

However, if you prefer to 'as long as got cash back' then yes, go ahead. M-Power is quite uncomplicated, just use it, if you are more than 2k you'll get 8% (on the particular category spend), otherwise its 3%.

For some (most?) of us, we want cashback on all spending, or alternatively to maximize cashback, then a bit more work to do.

I've got 10k CL on each of my Maybank platinum cards. 6K on my (former) OCBC Titanium. My HSBC got 20k CL. Should I go complain to OCBC or Maybank?

I received months back when they first came out the promo. Probably by now stock run out, as I received was maybe beginning of the year or something.

RM20 for 3xRM50 spend. Effectively up to 13% cash back. Not too shabby, especially if the spend is in the categories (like my mPower already gives 2% for petrol etc.).

Of course, if one of your swipes is much more than RM50 then not really that worth it from a percentage POV.

I believe T&C for late payment is that they start counting from bill date if you miss payment date. Something along those lines.

Of course safest is always pay on time, otherwise none of the card's benefits are really worth it.

That being said, hope your complaint can get some back =)

How is this 2.5% for all spending? You have to have certain amount of in-category spending.

Same like saying that if I use my Maybank Ikhwan to spend RM1000 for petrol (earn RM50) and then spend RM1k on other things (earn 1x treatspoints, let's ignore that) I'm getting 2.5% on 'all spending'. No, in that case I'd rather use Ikhwan for the petrol and another card which gives more reward on general spending.

Like Titanium or Essentials (1%) or Watami (3-5K per quarter). Then I get 5% on petrol and 1-3% on the rest.

But with HSBC you're forced to two minimum spends to maximize. Minimum spend RM2k per month, and then minimum spend on petrol too. And effective cashback drops if you spend RM1999....

What's that last 'cash back amount' row? I check their promotions there's a Get Cash promo (which I didn't sign up for, just only did it now that I see it) and nothing else. Anyone else seen that?
