No, they offer too many gift to attract new customer. Cerruti watch, then huai Wei , then ...etc. they spent off all their money. I guess

Anyone got weekend cash back for Dec 2014?
*
Weekend cash back will only be credited after 6-8 weeks base on my experience. For dec 2014, you might need to wait.

Got access to KLIA PPL, also was rewarded the Travel Cash Back and Last Digit Cash Back for total > rm250 in 2014.

CS is annoying thou.

How you know you get >rm 250 cash back in 2014? Will it show in your statement?

These CB shown in statement as

- Travel Cash Back RM 200.00 CR
- Get Cash Promotion RM 22.00 CR
- ...

They came from few campaigns, e.g. Travel Spend Campaign, Get Cash Promotion (Last Digit of Approval Code)
Here is a link I found: https://www.hsbc.com.my/1/2/personal-bankin...spend-promotion

Other than the Campaign fussy T&C, sometime 'participant' will be requested to reply SMS for a question like "What is the color of HSBC's logo?" etc
*
Thank you. I received similar SMS also. I did reply. But I don't think I receive the cash back. Will check back my previous statement. Thanks

Just to confirm again, the total monthly spend is based on calendar month and not statement month, am I right? Eg. If I spend rm2000 in May, I can get 8% cash back on my May weekend dining/groceries/petrol up to RM100, am I right?
*
I think is statement month. Please spend above RM 2100 as I noticed some months I only received 3% even though I spend RM 2001. I think spending rm2k must exclude the rm 100 cash back.

HSBC Amanah is CHEATER!!! Don't apply for this card.

1) I apply 3 months 0% BT. Suddenly this month, I was charge with Management Fee. Calling Customer Service, they say if we have BT, all retail transaction will automatic will be charge management charge...this is seriously cheating. No one telling me this IMPORTANT clause when I apply for the BT. I would use other cards if I know this clause.

2) Welcome bonus RM50...suddenly they say it first come first serve basis. I don't keep any hope anymore.

3) Cash back bonus RM200 for new credit cards. They did say that it is limited quantity, but blarghhh....why still using this to promote if you can roughly estimate that it is already fulfill long ago.

4) They say petrol transaction will get 3% cashback if spend less than RM2k...but I only get the normal 0.2% even though swipe at pump.

Will terminate this card soon.
*
Yes. HSBC has lots of funny rules. I was being charge management fees for some silly bank policy and mistake in the past also.

So in order to maximize the rebate, you want to swipe as much as possible during weekend within the selected categories, eg swipe all RM2000, entitled 8%, rebate RM100, effective rebate is 5% only.

Or

Swipe RM1250 within the categories during weekend, the balance RM750 outside the categories = (RM1250 * 8%) + (RM750 * 0.2%) = RM100 + RM1.50, effective rebate is about 5.075%?

Please correct me if Im wrong here. notworthy.gif
*
My experience is you need to spend RM2100 each month to get 8%. Because the RM100 rebate from previous month is not included. Eg if you spend RM2000 in May, but you get rebate RM100(for rebates on March).,then your spending is only 1900. Rebates become 3%. To be safe, spend RM 2100 each month.

If I'm u, I will complain n get back the 8%. They must refund to u.

HSBC rebate system is very complicated. To track the rebate also very difficult. The weekends rebate is to be rebate 6-8 weeks later. The weekday rebate is on other interval. To call CS and talk to a human is very time consuming in HSBC. At times , you could just sit there and waited 30 mins. Sometimes, I met with some unprofessional CS. Then I need to call like 10 times to solve an issue. At the end, I rather just spend extra 100.

worse bank for credit limit, credit limit like only 140% of ur monthly salary. and my annual >36k. other bank give 3x but hsbc so strict on cl.
*
Don't worry on credit limit here. My experience with hsbc is first few months they gave me low credit limit. After few months, if u settle the payment on time, they will offer you higher credit limit. For my case, initially only have 7k. Later on, they called me and ask me how much limit I want. I was surprised and speechless. Then i say give me 3 times. CS said ok n asked few questions to verify...that easy!

Not to forget maximum cash back is RM100 but you must spend above 2k to be entitled for 8% cash back. Which is actually equal to 5% maximum. The spending criteria is very complicated.

HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i give 3% cash back for petrol, groceries, and dining for weekend?
This should be a good card to own, right?
*
Yes. 3%. A good card AF waived with 12 swipe. Problem is the term and condition. So you must be very careful. Eg petrol only 3 type ie petronas, shell, Caltex. Initially I wrongly pump, and miss up the cash back. After I familiar with the term and condition, I like the card.

The other important thing is don't try to get the 8%. Because it has a cap of RM 100 rebate per month. So it end up you only get 5% maximum. Most of the time, you need to spend RM 2100-2200. Because sometimes the last few days transaction might have late posting date, it ends up you spend >RM 2000 but get 3% only. Usually maximum can get is around 4.8% only base on my experience.

Fully agree with u, start from little.......use it wisely, good payment record, bank will review our record accordingly.
I started using HSBC with classic card (more than 10 years ago), CL less than 5K........terminated few years ago after other banks offer cash back type cards.  Reapplied two years ago, CL increased. smile.gif
*
My case also similar. Initially very low CL. Only 25% of other bank. After 6 months, the CS called me and offer increase CL. I remember when I say I agree for increase CL, they even ask me how much CL I want, then my CL suddenly jump to very high.
