Just got an SMS from HSBC stating that the CC is being set to my address. I applied through RP and hopefully will be getting my CC and BBZ3 soon enough. And for the one who already got the CC, how am I going to receive my CC? I'm asking since I'm not at home most of the time. Since I guess that I'll probably need to verify I have received the card by signature like a courier service?

I just received the CC yesterday and may I know how is the process going to be after this?

Is RP going to email me or do I have to reach out to them for the status?

I have a question about the HSBC Amanah M-Power Visa Card I just got. I applied for VS but they gave me Amanah instead. Now reading in detail in this thread and the Amanah T&C here, I have a deep concern about the benefits and service of this bank towards their CC customers.
According to the T&C from the link above,
QUOTE
(b) (i) The Cardholder agrees to only use the Credit Card-i as follows:(
1) for purposes permitted by Shariah and only for the purchase of halal or Shariah-approved goods
and services. The decision of the Bank and/or its Shariah Committee as to whether such goods
and services are Shariah compliant shall be conclusive; and
(2) shall not use the Credit Card-i for or in connection with any unlawful activity or purpose
(including without limitation online gambling).

This shocks me since I'm a non-Muslim and would be dining and purchasing from places and shops selling stuffs that are non-Halal from time to time.
Is this case true?
And if it's true, can I cancel my card after receiving the BB Z3?
What to do to cancel a credit card? Since this card basically has bad reputations and non-so-good benefits.

YES, the Holder of Islamic CC are Permitted to Carry out HALAL Transaction, which Exclude Transaction Related with 6 Categories that Don't meet Shariah Requirement, These Categories are Bars, Disco, Night Clubs, Purchase of Beer, Massage Service, Escort & Gambling... sweat.gif

Having THIS Card since 2011...
But so far, NO Rejection, NO Problem at All for ME to Use this CC at NON Halal Restaurant like Dragon-i or Duty Free Shop at Airport & Used it for MY Daily Spend thumbup.gif

That's a relief, thanks for sharing your experience biggrin.gif

if not mistaken, those islamic credit card cannot be used to buy alcoholic stuff.

but can keep the card for 1 year, no need to rush to cancel it.  tongue.gif

Alright so can't swipe at pubs, got it.

Btw, what will happen if I cancel after 1-2 months instead of a year? Since there's not much benefits I'm getting from this CC anyways. But I mean I can still keep this card for some groceries purchases from time to time, just that it wouldn't be much use to me other than that and adding bulk to my wallet wherever I go. blink.gif

You can call in to try cancel the card. But the CS may try their best to convince you in keeping it.
the rest is up to you.

Haiz maybe wait another for them to update the system. May I ask how long did it took you to receive the unique gift code? And is it that HSBC sent you the code?

hey guys saw comment at front page bout the annual fees waive
now kinda sceptical bout activating my signature card
wondering still a prob?
*
I asked about the annual fee waiver when the sales rep called me through the phone for verification, they said yes, after 12 times swipe will waive annual fee, but it is not stated at the T&C from HSBC website, but I heard from a lot of people, if they charge you annual fee, then call them to cancel the card, since they wouldn't want you to cancel the card, they would waive the annual fee for you if you continue to hold the CC.

But I have a question, does online bill payment considered as 'swipes'?

My business needs cash flow, sometimes cash out or BT from credit card (compare to personal loan or business loan) is lower interest rate and faster approval. It is just my two cents opinion. biggrin.gif
