1.What is Streamyx Combo package?
i. Streamyx Combo package is a package which offers Streamyx broadband Internet access service and includes TM Homeline. Streamyx Combo is a package offering and no separate charge for TM fixed line rental. Customers just need to pay a single monthly subscription fee for both the services.
ii. The prices for Streamyx Combo packages are cheaper than any existing package, whereby customer pays separately for Streamyx and TM Homeline rental.
iii. Streamyx Combo package comes with UNLIMITED broadband usage and with modem.
iv. Details of Streamyx Combo package offerings are as follows:

2) What is the minimum subscription period for Streamyx Combo package?
12 months


3) If I am an existing Streamyx customer, can I change my existing services to Streamyx Combo package?
Yes. To upgrade to higher speed, you can register via any TMpoint outlets or Streamyx authorised resellers. However, you can only downgrade your package at TMpoint outlets.


4) If I do not have a TM Homeline, can I subscribe to Streamyx Combo?
You need a TM Homeline to subscribe to Streamyx or Streamyx Combo package. However, this is also subject to Streamyx service availability at your area.

You can apply for TM Homeline and check if Streamyx service is available at your area at any TMpoint outlets.

Alternatively, you can check for Streamyx service availability by using your neighbour’s TM Homeline number via SMS. Type STX<space><TM Homeline number>, SEND to 33535

E.g. STX 0388888888


5) If I subscribe Streamyx Combo together with TM Homeline, can I terminate my TM Homeline if Streamyx service cannot be offered?
Yes, but you have to settle any outstanding bills on call usage.


6) If I am an existing TM Homeline customer, can I subscribe to Streamyx Combo? When can I start enjoying ZERO charge for TM Homeline rental, which is included in the Streamyx Combo package?
Yes.
You can start enjoying the ZERO charge on TM Homeline rental for Streamyx Combo on the next bill date of your TM Homeline after the activation of Streamyx Combo service.


7) If I’m subscribing to TM Homeline together with Streamyx Combo, when can I start enjoying the inclusiveness of TM Homeline rental for it?
You can start to enjoy the inclusiveness of TM Homeline rental for Streamyx Combo on the next bill date of your TM Homeline after the activation of Streamyx Combo service.


8) Are there any additional charges on top of the monthly charges of Streamyx Combo?
Yes, you will be charged the following one-time charges:

(i) RM75 for Streamyx service activation
(ii) RM88 for Streamyx installation (not applicable to Streamyx-in-a-Box customer).

The normal call usage will also be charged accordingly (if any)


9) What is the warranty period for the modem?
The modem comes with a lifetime warranty.


10) Can I subscribe to any Add Ons after my Streamyx Combo is activated?
YES, you can subscribe to Add On(s) via:

(i) Online SelfCare
(ii) Any TMpoint outlets

BUT, you can only subscribe for Fun Package upon Streamyx Combo registration.


11) When can I enjoy the Voice Plan RM28?
Your Voice Plan RM28 will be effective on the next bill date of your TM Homeline after the activation of Streamyx Combo service.

If you utilise your TM Homeline to make phone calls before such notification(s), your calls will be charged at the normal call rates.

Refer to Question No. 13 on how to check for the TM Homeline bill date.


12) Do all Streamyx Combo packages include TM Homeline rental and Modem with warranty?
YES


13) How do I know the bill date of my TM Homeline?
You may refer to your latest TM Homeline bill or if you have registered online, you can view it via www.TMOnline.com.my website.
Bill sample is as illustrated below:

As highlighted in RED LINE, the bill date for this customer is on the 10th of every month.


14) I am a new customer of the Streamyx Combo package, what are my initial charges?
Your first bill for the Streamyx Combo package will consist of the following charges:

(i) RM75 activation fee
(ii) RM88 installation fee (waived if you subscribe to Streamyx-in-the-Box)
(iii) RM10 stamp duty fee
(iv) 1st and 2nd month subscription fee advance payment.
(v) Call usage (if any)


15) I am a new TM Homeline and Streamyx Combo customer. If Streamyx Combo cannot be delivered to my home, is there any charge for my TM Homeline Rental?
You will have NO RENTAL for the first 3 months only. You will be charged monthly rental RM26 on the 4th month and onwards.


16) I’m a new TM Homeline customer, what are my initial charges?
Your first bill for TM Homeline will consist of the following charges:

(i) RM75 deposit
(ii) RM10 stamp duty
(iii) RM50 connection fee (The charges shall be waived if subscribe together with Streamyx Combo)
(iv) Call usage (if any)


17) Can I subscribe to Voice Plan, Value Added Services or Content & Application without subscribing to any Streamyx Combo package?
NO. The Add On is only applicable for the Streamyx Combo package.


18) Are the rates of Voice Plan RM28 more attractive and give me more savings than normal call charges?
Yes. With just RM28 per month, you will enjoy UNLIMITED calls to any TM fixed line nationwide. You will also enjoy flat rate charge of 25sen/minute for calls to any mobile number and non-TM fixed line nationwide.


19) Is calling a 1 300 number considered as calling a TM fixed line number for the Voice Plan RM28?
NO. Calling to 1-300 numbers will be charged its normal call charge of 4 sen per minute.


20) What about calling to Internet dial up services , 137xx, 600 or 103 for Voice Plan RM28?
Dialing to an Internet dial up services will be charged at 1 sen / minute.

Calls to 137xx, 600 or any other special number is subject to the rate quoted by its own operator.

Calls to 103 will be charged 30sen per call.


21) Is the Service Tax (GST) of 5% chargeable?
It is only chargeable to Voice Plan RM28, but it will not be charged for the Streamyx Combo package.


22) What are the charges for Voice Plan RM28 if I make calls to border phone line numbers, like Brunei and Singapore?
Normal call charges apply. Voice Plan RM28 special rates are only applicable for calls to TM fixed line and Malaysia’s mobile number / non-TM fixed line numbers.


23) Can TM Homeline customers with existing Call Plans change the subscription of the existing call plan to Voice Plan RM28 on top of Streamyx Combo package?
YES. The existing Call Plan will be terminated once you subscribe to Voice Plan RM28 (effective on your next TM Homeline bill date)


24) When and how can I terminate Streamyx Combo package or any of the Add On(s)?
You can only terminate Streamyx Combo service after the minimum subscription period. Penalty will be imposed should you terminate the subscription before the expiry of this minimum period.

Termination of the package can only be done at TMpoint outlets.


25) I am a TM Home Prepaid customer, can I subscribe to Streamyx Combo?
NO. Streamyx Combo is only applicable for TM Homeline customers.

They are few tips getting 4.0 Mbps to your house, ask the technician to come to your house and check ur line capability ( Sometimes TM.Nut won't entertain this ) But i managed to fix 4.0 Mbps even though my house is not in their System for 4.0 Mbps. This will take a lot of effort for them to do it. Do remember u mess be less than 2km from DSLAM to support 4.0 Mbps otherwise it won't work. They will check your ADSL status latency to confirm your line support or not.

Check SNR Margin

If you've a good SNR Margin , say 30-40 , then 4Mbps would be superb. if its like 15-20 , then you'll have issues with 4Mbps....

Huh .. are you guys live near their exchanges? attenuation lower than 10 and SNR better than 30 .. anyway, for me, my SNR & attenuation were worst than your guys have but when they upgraded my line to 4Mbps package, the SNR/attenuation somehow changed to much better values too.. I guess that is why they said that they need to test your line first .. they need to move the port over to better system/connection I guess.

My house from exchange is about 2km, they didn't come to check but just approved the application and do installation.I think they also can check from there.

This is mine when its on 4Mbps , when i had 1mbps , My SNR margin were higher (obviously)


bossnass15 and aspire2006 , it looks pretty good. aspire2006 , your output power seems to be bit high and your upload seems to be a bit pathetic , so I am not sure if the upload is able to sync at 512Kbps. It may be bit lower or some sort.

Anyway the SNR Margin cannot be too narrow (as in <30 and the noise cannot be more then 10) , then you have a chance to get 4Mbps. Obviously you can beg them to give you 4Mbps with a crappy line , but bear in mind you'll face disconnection. Few of my friends did that , and they don't mind if they get capped at 3mbps or lower then 4Mbps , as they want the IP range for 4Mbps users , as they are gamers mostly , so a better route to US and UK servers would mean a lot for them

Shouldn't be a problem with your SNR/Att. values methink.. I had almost the same values when I was using 1.5Mbps before. Anyway, to get the 5Mbps .. you need to ask them to put you into higher than 4Mbps .. tell them your download speed is much less than the advertised speed and they'll cap you higher.. I was told to do this after three weeks though...

Write them and tell them you want full 4Mbps (minus the overheads). To do that make sure your speedtest speeds are pretty bad. But then for your case if you increase the speed to 5Mbps , expect sNR margin to drop a bit . You must not do this asap , wait for 3 weeks as suggested by forumer above me. Collect 1 speed test every week and say you are not happy with the service.

if I wanna full 4mbps, do I need to pay more? since they will capped it at 5mbps right? and there's a lot possibilities it might get worst than before right? right now my snr is 31.4 downrate. pretty good i must say

Ok,I'll try collect my speedtest every week and show to them.BTW,do you have prob with youtube?I need to using hotspot shield then i can get full speed at youtube and other streaming sites.

Applied 4MB but all test was 1.5 - 1.8 for a full 2 months, called them every week for technical service bla bla bla... now they cut and I went to HQ in cyberjaya, filed a complaint and told them im not going to pay the bills for 2 months... so waiting for their reply about this matter.

better yet, i did not cancle the service and they are still charging me monthly when it is cut and poor service... I've told them also Im not paying for the months to come waiting for your reply...

wuhooo~ get back my speed. fuh.. finally after complain2 now get back. still, not so stable. hope this could stay more than a day. usually the most i could online is one day, then dc and dsl blinking for 2 days, then can again. shaiit.

I'm still with 115 IP address.Last night I called them asked for premium account 218 and they said no such things.All package got same range IP and nothing different.When do you guys start getting 218 range?Youtube is damn slow but after 1am got the full speed.If you guys want faster stream at Youtube, just using hotspot shield.I can get full speed when using hotspot shield.

After i email their tech support and all the email i can find about my complain this wat i see now

from 1mb to 2mb ? not worth.. becoz for dling sometime we get up to 180 kbps

umm..my current 1mb connection maximum speed is around 170kb..

what the maximum speed that I can get with 2mb ?

shoudn't it be twice as fast and reach at least 300kb?

1.5 megabit = 192 kilobyte
2 megabit = 256 kilobyte
4 megabit = 512 kilobyte

i think it's normal nowadays that any 1mb user will get 1.5mb speed.. my package is 1mbps but my max download speed is about 190++KB/s

i do speedtest n speedometer test i NEVER got 4mbps but i got lower than 4mbps or more than that,,,sometimes got ridiculous speed such as 30mbps or such..but never had download speed more than usual...

BUT..when come to downloading files...it can up to 600kbps...depends on the files it self..

After 4pm my internet totally died. Later when I came home at night damn hard to connect but when connected no data movement at all. I called them near 10pm took useless cs lvl 1 20-25 mins put me on hold to transfer my call to premier cs who took another 5 mins again put me on hold before telling me Penang facing outage and internet is down and that tech is currently repairing so no need write report. Yet their 100 voice recording never said anything regarding this when I called.

I tried again around 3 am still nothing, looks like its back right now.

axce.lan: Warranty lifetime? I was told 1 year warranty both at tm point and the tech who came over to set up 4mb line.

got my 4mb for 2 days.. youtube still load extremely slow. still getting the same ip range.. no luck for 218 =/
rapidshare still nid to by pass. after bypass i constantly get 400~5xx kbs.

what about others? my friend's modem die already. i don't know which model, and what package he took. if return back to the TM point kena pay ar?

I got this prob before, it tooks TM 3 weeks to correct my problem and of course after a letter to MCMC.

Actually new installation should not up too much u need to wait after 2 to 3 months then ask for 5120kbps or more because they are another team will be monitoring the settings

I just upgraded from 2mb to 4mbps connection 2 weeks ago. I check my modem, the download speed was capped at 4096kpbs and 510 kpbs for upload. I make couple of complains of unable to get 80% of advertised speed, then they send a technician to my house to check my telephone line and etc. He re configure my port and now am able to get at least 3.5mbps from the speedtest result. The technician told me if the speed still slow, he can try to configure my account to 8mbps... YES, i really hope he can do it for me, but what execuse can i ask him to do that for me? any idea?

I had this done on my line also, technician tried to cap the line at 8Mb but at that bandwidth, the line kept dropping out.

So does the line speed shown on your modem now is 8mbps? when you do speed test, whats the speed you get?

However, I realize 4Mbps user ( aka 218.111 IP's)
got good latency to China and JP and KR.

218.111 = Jaring wired in term of latency/Ping only.

after complaining so long, finally, today a technician came to my house. check2, he say my modem rosak. cayalah, i've been using a rosak modem also can online so long. i don't care, so i just ask him to change if its really broken. he change, he blah, i do speedtest..



DANG! got my speed babeh. and i finally get the 218 ip. hope this last for a long time too.

can anyone tell upgrade to 4mbps or switch to wimax?
