i just applied mine - it seems OUG area just implemented new fibre cables in Nov 2009 and its within distance from the exchange plus there is available ports.

there's is a whole lot of confusion on the non-combo streamyx upgrade package.

some say with modem some say without.

the technician says only rm160 comes with modem, the 100 operator say yes, and another 100 operator say no, the telekom technical guy that comes say he don't really know.

technician also claims that his service order specifically says no modem to be provided. Tmnut really screw big time on this, either they advert it wrongly and somewhere along the line there is some miscom.

Either way, i am not too particular on some stupid free modem provided by them.

My own question now is my modem Aztech 605EW can achieve 4MB, some how its capped at 2MB .... any idea why?

Meaning when he connects to his Billion modem and do speedtest - it can clock in 4MB.

When i check at my Aztech - its somehow capped at 2MB only.

But when i check the aztech config - its actually connected at 5MB already.

Suspect its the modem limited speed? but i've upgraded the firmware and its ADSL2 ..

Billion seems the choice here - anyone using linksys or aztech?

cos when try with the technical guy with his own account and his own modem, can get 5MB

but when i use my account and old modem of 605EW i can only get like 2MB .. sounds like my account got problem?

i call 100 and this time they say its still capped at 2MB bla bla bla - hari ni cuti .. besok tengahari .. walao!

Last week and today, they told me my account is good already modem problem.

Then technical blame the modem today -walao ... lucky i didnt buy a new modem tonite.

siao siao siao - 3 areas to watch out to summarise by our bro's here.

1 - free modem if upgrading / modem compatibility.
2 - account uncapped.
3 - line / exchange test.

Its like playing the one-eye jack machine to strike all 3 categories correct, walao ...

i also pening - call 100 ... they say its port not modem - told them i am using Aztech 605EW modem.

called again and they say prolly port but port already 5MB - i also confuse problem now is port or modem?

in the meantime, my modem still shows a connection of 1900 / 481 .. i.e. download / upload.

just so confuse - told the 100 to give me the new modem which they didnt in the first place.

after the hassle i am able to get about 3.5MB which i am happy.

using riger and linksys wifi AP.

here bro - using 4MB from StreamyX ..

this is 100% true - if u view the earlier pages i had the same problem, using Aztech 605EW for years already.

Then when upgraded to 4MB - it can only reach 2MB the max.

Checked everywhere, line-port-termination-account ... and in the end had to use the Riger modem ...

I dunno why Aztech is so terrible in this - maybe some protocol issue.

BTW - the riger is urs as it is free modem with 4MB package, so take it ... ! Riger would easily reach 4MB or even 5MB if they didnt cap it i suppose.

Hence i still need help with our brothers here if anyone else uses Linksys and successfully connect to 4MB? pls help with the model ..

p/s : pls avoid zy*** also ... - just me.

sounds like u have a line or account problem - time to keep calling 100 ...

this linksys model is 100% compatible with 4MB line?
