Mileage: 660.2KM
Fuel: 36.13L
Fuel Consumption: 18.27KM/L

just went for my 20k MM-B. SA mentioned need to follow month or mileage, whichever comes first...I was like WTF...couldn't i just follow the mileage but if follow mth, mine is over by 1+ month coz my car registered end june 2016. SA said takut warranty void.

Next service is 30k - free labour. I'm pretty sure I may not touch 10k km in the next 6 mths. SA advise me to go for earlier maintenance at end of Feb 2018 (5 mths) to ensure warranty still got cover.

what do you think..SA is reasonable or not?

btw bro ISR, thanks for continue v7. yay! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

traveling to sg tmr. I will install iroad q9. it's cheaper at sg sgd 440 installation included, locally I think it's going for rm 1600. going for visit n a short trip so install along the way. so far that's the best imo.

will just cruise n enjoy the ride, no rush or hurry. for normal use just a tune up for afr, filter, DP n exhaust is more than enough & should be able to gain around 20-30whp based on experience from my previous Evo6 n evox. used to be a track junkie... tc cars can easily gain power. those who wanna make a monster fc, pls bring it to the track & stay off the streets.

for honda tuning maybe can organize a visit to my old buddy Jacky @jcracing, he's well known with hondata & Hondas.

most likely will get my fc tuned after my titanium exhaust arrives & after 10k service. I do is only 1.3k km.

just my 2 cents about street racing, be safe & keep a good repo for fc owners too.

liking the fuel economy so far & the car is more responsive with econ off for city driving. will use econ for highway or long cruises & relaxed drive only.

These RM500 tint voucher might be worth "nothing", eg the tint price is 1500 if you were to deal with the shop boss yourself... but if you go with the voucher, they might charge you RM2000 minus the RM500 voucher = RM1500 back to square one biggrin.gif. Or maybe more since the SA would have earn some money. Unless of course if you did walk in and check on the prices, then minus from there is ok.

TCP, and I drove between 110-130 at highways. Mostly it’s 115-120. 1.8 is not as fuel efficient as the 1.5 at constant highway speeds.

From what I heard, the tentative price is RM300k, but actually if comparing to the old Type-R, the price is around RM250k. My money is on RM250k rather than RM300k. It’s a nice car though. Saw the car at the Sepang Circuit last weekend.

Type R is for people already equipped with multiple high end cars with extra cash to burn. If you need a loan for it you're pushing it
*
Half agreed on your view, it's good to know on what's up for TT session. However the target audience mostly are sentimental good old type-R lovers. It's a car that has grown up, unlikely for people who already have high-end car to pick it up because for the fact it is still only a honda. My view people that has financial stability and enthusiast are the audience.

true, unless u r talking about those more reputable tint shop brands

where prices are already mark up, so basically tint voucher just reduce sa commision

but best is to get cash rebate

trust me

when u take foc tint, u dun expect them to tint anything good isnt it

and as for voucher, dun get "confused"

ntg beats cash rebate laugh.gif

Is it just me or does our turbo engine feel out stamina on really hot days? Today is the second time I encountered this. It was about 35-37 degrees outside (based on the temp indicator in the meter) and the car has been in the sun for 1.5 hours. I got in, started, switched the AC to 21 degrees and drove on normal mode. When I reached the highway about 5 minutes later, I felt like the car was struggling to get past 100. I had to push it harder to even keep up with a Vios in acceleration.
This is the second time in a month that I've felt this way....both times after lunch on a hot day. No such issues in the mornings or nights so far.
Any thoughts?

Speed of travel does affect the fuel efficiency. A quick reference would be the dynamic fuel efficiency bar 0 - 40km/L on the dashboard indicaator. Constant speed of 110 - 130 km/h would yield an impressive result of 18km/L and above. And yes, it can reach mileage of ~650km from one fuel tank for TC engine. Trialed and tested by myself. Result may also varies if there are mountainous road along the highway or just mostly flat land.

Overall, it is a very efficient car. I am still impressed by it. Haha. biggrin.gif

Any change of Petrol brand, RON?
I noticed certain petrol station/brands gave slightly lesser pull power from standstill... not too sure whether it is a placebo effect.

When up genting I feel the car very powerful strong pickup even with 2k-2.5k rpm, probably due to cold air.

If tint outside power window spoil due to installation for sure void warranty. It is like you screw up the car outside but expected able to claim warranty free from SC. If SA tint they would still sent to internal or outside workshop panel but at least if anything spoil the responsible will still under the SC that the SA belongs to. Personally I tint outside myself for best value money.

Into my 1.5 months driving my 1.5TCP WOP, and here's some observations:

1. Rattling from A pillar and also Right side of driver's door is audible, at low speed (<30km/h).

2. Semi-rattling sound from right side of the driver's air cond vent whenever A/C is at above speed 2.

3. WOP bumper colour is slightly yellowish compared to the body. Hardly noticeable, unless you know that it is different.

4. Current FC is at around 11.6km/l. Total mileage is 2.1K, mainly town use with MINIMAL traffic congestion. Average speed at around 80-90km/h for town use.. ECO mode ON for town use... Is this normal?

I have an appointment tomorrow to check on my rattling sounds....

So far it is still a fun ride... No regrets... smile.gif

Dear all ...i can't reply earlier due to the thred v6 was closed...i would say 220 kmh cut off just nice...not going to shoot up to 200kmh all the way la...i mean short burst to 220kmh since the civic gets up to 207 very fast ...depends on the road ...clear open road ok....overtaking cars from far ...thats dangerous...volkswagen jetta can hit 240 kmh and it's not as quick as the civic ...so I don't see why 220 kmh can't be the cut off

Drove to Terrenganu and back over the weekend. Refueled art the BHP just after the Karak entry. Managed to last the entire trip and back, which was 713 km. Cost me 39.6 litres of fuel. Could've been better but was stuck in a bit of traffic in Kuantan.

Japan still having this rule to cap out at 180 km/h?

I remember friend's FD2R went to 260+ must have been modified then... he said limited by the gearbox cause rev cut at 6th gear only gets you there.

I actually experience the same thing. Though it’s not very sluggish, but I can feel that the car is not as powerful when compared to morning/night time. Initially I thought I was oversensitive. Not sure if this is the characteristic of the car? Lol

After some search online. It seems like it is a general characteristic for cars to have poorer performance under heat. Though it can be more pronounced in turbo cars. Generally, turbo engines (NA too) would perform much better with cold air (cold air have higher density compared to hot air).

dont comapre with current jetta. They already made turbocharge looooong time ago and yet can go that far je plus no reliable at all and yes they can go up to 240 or 250+ km/h (can search at youtube. Malaysian ppl already reach that)

Meanwhile civic for the first time make turbo engine car for civic and can follow jetta with reliable engine.

Wait for next gen civic sure lot faster than the current one. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Plenty of choice out there, do your research. I bought an Oppo A57, pretty decent and iOS like interface. Good enough for Waze and Google Maps. My only complain, there is no Android upgrade from Oppo. It is Android 6 by default.

Note : Android Auto requires Android 5 as minimum OS version.

The current stock civic turbo is fast enough to catch the jetta and Passat....that is until 200kmh...civic reach 200kmh very fast...but after that the Passat or jetta will overtake the civic if there is a long enough highway....2nd generation civic turbo will definitely be faster

Hi everyday, I'm a new proud owner of

1.5 TC-P Modern Steel Metallic

1) However, 1st day upon receiving the car and drove back home, discovered ants nest on both sides of the doors. The sales guy said due to melaka plant, they park new stock out in the open and maybe parked under a tree.....

Sigh..... in the end he jus put some powder around the doors ( i belive they created nest inside the doors also!)

2) However, I like to ask, anybody here has installed Ultra racing bars? like at the engine hood or rear below the tyres?.

My previous car had ultra racing bars, and when I took corner on civic, i really feel I need those stabilising bars again!... I'm just worried about warranties if theres any disputes with HM

I actually experience the same thing. Though it’s not very sluggish, but I can feel that the car is not as powerful when compared to morning/night time. Initially I thought I was oversensitive. Not sure if this is the characteristic of the car? Lol

anyone face this issue of the car not moving (Gear is on "D" , accelerator is pressed , brake hold and parking brake is off ) when the seat belt is taken off?

It was able to move after the seat belt is put on . is this some sort of bug or security feature ?

The car should be able to move even without the seat belt on. Voice assist will prompt driver to put on the seat belt.

Guys I know this has been asked many times. So sorry for asking again but I couldn’t find the thread with information on service.

My car has another 1000km to go for Service A and is currently at 7000km mileage. So I should be sending the car in at around 8000km for service A. So I should be able to combine the 10k km service as well right? If I combine, what would be the next service?

Or can anyone send the link for the thread with the service information. Thank you.

during routine servicing, do you guys pay for.
1) Engine oil treatment (RM52.26) - to clean engine area
2) Engine Cleaner (RM37.84) - to clean fuel area

When I asked the service guy, he said this is optional, good to do. If perform both, the cost will be inflated by 30%.
If go through the manual, these 2 items are not mentioned.
I just wonder if it is necessary?

All of these are snakeoil... extra income to them. Your engine oil and fuel already have treatments and cleaners in them. As long as you drive, fuel up at respectable brands’ fuel station, change your engine oil when it’s time, you don’t need all those extras.

dont comapre with current jetta.

Wait for next gen civic sure lot faster than the current one.  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

my opinion thumbsup.gif CIVIC

1. 1.5 , road tax cheaper, Rm90 per yr only

2. interior big , back seat also big

3. Turbo , power come in faster start at 1500 rpm , normal drive mode will save petrol due to enuf power to carry the body , less waste petrol

Eh, the 8k difference between the 1.5 TC and 1.5TC-P is for the following?

LED headlamps, LED fog lamps - Is it better or brighter for LED?
Chrome door handles - What is this?
Dual-zone auto air con - What is the difference between single and dual zone?
Navigation (by Garmin) - Don't really need it.

LED light more pretty tongue.gif
to me, it seems brighter since it is white LED

chrome door handle, just not same color with the car body paint, it is shiny kind, only the car door handle

seriously not so worth for Premium spec, unless you have extra money to spare, about 8k extra
navigation built inside car nowadays doesnt seems useful, what we have in our phone is much more up to date for map

dual zone is two separate temperature control, i guess is each side(passenger and driver), not front and rear, nothing big deal, just you can control the temperature of air cond from either side lol

Doesn't seem worth the 8k at all. Most of the features are not necessary. I could change the LED lights myself later on. I don't really rely on car's navigation as I used what my phone has such as Google Maps and Waze.

Chrome door handle can be also be put later on. Only the dual zone air con is something that I cannot put it later on...but doesn't seem to be useful sweat.gif

I would rather spend the 8k for something else like window tint laugh.gif

I thought only the TCP got 8 speakers whereas the rest only 6?

LED headlamp in market can get 2.2k with eagle eye right? not original but still shows the same look except this comes with sequential signal.

Any of you experiencing high windnoise coming in from door at above 130km/h ?

Yeah, earlier they were saying 2k per piece... thus I went with TC-P... if eagle eyes announced earlier I will go TC ._.

Any change of Petrol brand, RON?
I noticed certain petrol station/brands gave slightly lesser pull power from standstill... not too sure whether it is a placebo effect.
*
Nope. No change of petrol during that time. But I do feel that BHP and Caltex gives me much better performance.

LED headlamp in market can get 2.2k with eagle eye right? not original but still shows the same look except this comes with sequential signal.

I think is normal. my other car crz also feel more responsive at night.. dono why.. lol
*
I'm beginning to feel that this car gets affected by hot weather more easily vs my older cars, all of which were NA. Anyway, I don't accelerate hard often so it's fine for now. I love how smooth the car is in the mornings though. So silent and smooth.

I actually experience the same thing. Though it’s not very sluggish, but I can feel that the car is not as powerful when compared to morning/night time. Initially I thought I was oversensitive. Not sure if this is the characteristic of the car? Lol

Ha!! So I'm not alone. What a relief. Lol
It doesn't happen often though. Only on very hot days with blistering sun.

After some search online. It seems like it is a general characteristic for cars to have poorer performance under heat. Though it can be more pronounced in turbo cars. Generally, turbo engines (NA too) would perform much better with cold air (cold air have higher density compared to hot air).
*
I wonder if the turbo engines in other makes exhibit the same characteristics. This is my first turbo car so I can't really be a judge of that.

*
De-carbo the engine is the best way to clear carbon build up. I don't know of any way to prevent it on a DI engine. When to decarbo is up to you. Some folks recommend every 40k while others say that's overkill and every 100k will do just fine.

Can just change to LED H11 bulb or philips/osram white color light halogen bulb lor.. actually civic projector headlight design also quite nice.. Offcourse if budget for addtional 8k is not much, then buyer should go for TC-P.

Driver side and passenger side can set different temperatures for TC-P. Rear passengers follow the passenger side temp (somebody told me this, can't confirm though...) I'm guessing the fan speed is the same, only the air temperature coming out from the blower is different.

Cabin temperature will be a amalgamation of both smile.gif

went for a "sporty' drive session, just to share & don't freak out when u go for some aggressive driving & the hazard light appears & blink fast.

it comes out when abs is activated me thinks.

just focus on driving & controlling the car instead of thinking why the hazard light appears automatically & blinks fast.

I could be wrong or something is not right with my ride but I think it's normal?

some heavy left foot braking + some accelerator during certain corners. even on heavy braking before entering corner the fast blinking hazard light pops out.

I remember some members was able to get 6k rebate back in June/July time frame, so it should be technically more for year end car IMO. Of course, these SA just want their sales confirmed early... maybe you can survey further perhaps.

Need to bug dealer for discount smile.gif People would usually avoid buying end of the year - unless got big discount. RM5-6k considered as normal discount now, need to request more for end of the year cars imho.

Even if you buy early in the year, need to confirm with dealer whether it's last year car (Most discount), or new year car (less discount). Not when the car is registered, but when the car was manufactured.

Thx sifus
*
Even though possible to use HDD, I’d still recommend use pendrive - no moving parts. If hard disk, the daily spin up and sudden power loss when turning off the car will kill the hard disk quick.

Pen drive I tried only up to 64GB. 1TB pendrive will be crazy expensive which makes me wonder if you can afford 1TB pendrive, why you buy Civic laugh.gif

Great idea, where shall we get this ?

Honda stockist or service center.

Worth to buy now if order place now and car come at December , for 7k+ discount?
*
Really it's your call tongue.gif to me the normal discount is already about 5k-6k. If you're ok with just an additional 1-2k discount for a year end car, then it's ok la. To me I'd rather wait for a new year car.

Save money and just change the rubbers on your Civic wipers. It costs less than RM20 if i’m not mistaken.
*
Only RM 20? I went to Honda Stockiest @ Paramount and was quoted RM 80 just for the original rubber. Whole set will cost near to RM 300. Which stockiest RM 20? Mine going to change soon.

Thanks

Ha3! Last I changed the rubbers was back 6 years ago iinm on the old FD2. The price was indeed around RM20 for 1, less than RM50 for both. Maybe the price increased somewhere along the way.

No need the full set wiper la, unless yours somehow gets stolen. If your wiper start streaking, just change the rubbers. Good as new.

Been bothered by the rattle noise from the dashboard for too many months. Initially wanted to send to SC to get it fix, but then heard they will dismantle the whole dashboard and take few days to find the issue and get it fix, so decided to DIY.

Google around and found out there were 2 main causes of the rattle noise
1. The cover under the steering wheel is loose, i.e. not firmly attach
2. The driver side cover of the dashboard is loose

Mine issue is due to #2. After open up the cover, I discovered the clip pin is broken and therefore it constantly hit the cover (rattle noise) when the car going thru uneven road. I removed the clip pin and since then no more rattle noise rclxms.gif

My poor civic got bang today. Just to ask, should I go Original sg long Honda body repair or normal body repair shop?

Question in my head:
1. Does outside normal body repair shop fix will void warranty and Honda original body repair shop will not void?
2. Is the sg long Honda body repair shop (beside Honda 3s SC) under Honda company?

Claim insurance - always go for Honda body repair. They’ll change to ori Honda items.

Pay your own - up to you. It’s not so much warranty or not, but how sure are you they will use original Honda items and not OEM items hmm.gif

Not sure. Is it your own fault or the other party? Normally even if claim your own insurance, might not be that long actually. Around 1 month including waiting for the parts?

For Honda workshop, I doubt so. They are swamped with cases anyway, doubt they need to do those kind of things. If bawah pokok kind of shop, maybe la.

If claim somebody else’s insurance, go Honda la for peace of mind. Confirm ori parts and they’ll really change what’s needed, rather than just “ketuk”.

to me, if a new car plan to use for 8-9years or above, then buying year end or not, doesnt make much diff, unless someone plan to change car every 5 years, then year end car RV make some differences

a car 4 years old vs 5 years old will give more RV diff, compare to a car 8 years old vs 9 years old

Very subjective and difficult to answer. Each brand has their pro and cons. Best if you read/ask at the dedicated tint thread https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3053984

I use Llumar, but last when I did gather information on tint done by Civic owners, it was quite evenly split between Llumar, Huper Optik, Raytech & VKool. So, to each his own smile.gif

Best story that I know so far on RV - happened to my bro-in-law’s dad who is quite rich. Bought a brand new S-Class Merc back in 2007 iinm for RM600K++. Used it for 2 years and got tired of it, so decided to change. Sold the car for RM200K laugh.gif

Does any civic FC owner experience the following :-

Car driving normal in mild traffic, speed roughly 40-50kmph. A traffic light turns red a good distance away so you let go of the gas pedal and let it cruise to a stop. As the car slows to 30+ kmph, I could feel "drag" as if like old cars you pull the hand brake just a bit and enough to cause some noticible drag. At the end of this 'drag' at speed of 20+ kmph the car would jerk slightly. If you put me in the car blindfolded without knowing what car it was, I would've guessed the jerk cause by the auto transmission.

Car's brand new. Like, collected yesterday new. I have no prior cvt experience but the coasting to a stop is anything but smooth. Hoping you guys could share some insight with this problem. I'd like to understand this before I call my Sa.
*
My car also experience this, I asked SA they say is CVT behavior due to different gear ratio on CVT compare to conventional auto transmission

The drag u feel actually is engine braking. The CVT switch to low gear ratio to provide better stopping power.

The jerk is normal for Honda CVT. My house has Honda City 2015, CRV2017 and I even test drove friend's HRV, Honda showroom Jazz and Civic. They all jerk a little during low speed except that CRV and Civic not that bad compare to City and Jazz.

1st need to use a bit of force to detach the cover under the steering whee which is clipped to the dashboard. Then you remove the side cover (the one with the broken pin clip) by using a philip type screwdriver to remove 2 screws. Hope this helps.

Makes sense, but changing oil filter at mere 7000km is like so extreme hmm.gif So you reckon changing it every time you change new engine oil/service your car ?

On the old FD2, we used to change the engine oil (mineral/semi/fully) every 5,000KM including the oil filter. When the FB came out, engine oil & oil filter was changed every 10,000KM.

Recently, even the new Hybrid Honda City's oil filter is only required to be changed every 20,000km. So I guess, we don't need to change the oil filter that frequent anymore. I read somewhere that oil filters generally have a long lifespan, and the longer it's used, the more efficient it becomes.

Too long, and it'll be clogged though, so changing every 20,000km (Maintenance B ONLY) is a must, but any more frequent (Maintenance A & B), is simply a waste of money...

If thieves know what security system you installed, it’s a step thieves need to do to disable and run away with the car.

If nobody knows you install any additional security system, thieves won’t try to disable it and just run away with the car. You can still track it.

Hence, only idiots tell people what additional security systems they performed on the car... anyway, anyone wants to tell what security systems they deployed other than brake lock tongue.gif

Anyway - what additional info you want to know other than the info I provided at post #3?

If u previously u owned a car with absolute zero jerk, smooth and super responsive gearbox before, and then you jump to city, you will definitely feel it. Unless the best fault car is city then u can't compare or experience what is call jerky gearbox

The only other CVT I've driven long enough to comment would be the old Teana with 2.5L engine... that one can feel slow speed it doesn't behave that smooth, probably the CVT is changing the ratio too often. But the City one was definitely better.

Oh, I remember trying out the Nissan Sylphy test drive, that CVT is horrible ._. not smooth even above 60km/h, it can't make up its mind on which ratio to use LOL.

Can you please tell us what you did step by step until you encountered this error?

Just want to make it clear:

1. The HU supports Android Auto
2. Android Auto needs to be intalled on your phone, not the HU
3. Waze also needs to be installed on your phone, not the HU.

Read the FAQ on Page 1 for more info & installation procedures.

If that’s the case, reboot HU - choose the 1st option - but don’t plug in the phone.

I think you may have plugged in your phone / USB drive while restarting? It maybe have somehow read there is an update on the USB drive / phone.

Anyhow, no need to manually disable/enable the Android Auto on the HU. Once the HU detects a compatible Android Auto device, it’ll ask you what to do and just select enable Android Auto for this device.

Unplug the phone then only reboot? Try either hard restart - press power button longer than 10s - failing which, bring in to SC.

Just a guess - you have an android update done on your phone and left the update file on your phone?

I don’t have any android update left on my phone. Anyway thanks for the help smile.gif Cheers mate

I had the same problem with you. But you must remember. In Malaysia, android auto is not official yet thus your phone actually does not have android auto.
The only way for you to get this is by downloading the latest APK (attached on first page). Then it will work.

Must be formatted in FAT32. If using Windows 10, a bit problematic. Need to use command line etc.

Additionally, some pendrive can't be used - dunno why but a few of my pendrive mmg cannot be used to update the Garmin application on the PC. I use some cheapo freebie USB pendrive only can update.

-edit- latest Garmin map update for the TCP is 2018.0.

Just to confirm though, I noticed mine is like plastic noise... turning left or right will have it. But only during cold start then it goes off. If the car under hotsun in the afternoon normally no... but I gotta monitor it further. Was thinking some plastic expansion probably, but doesn't seem like it hmm.

i got heard this la..dont know true or not la...
factory make the car that can absorb certain body flex..
if put a bar at there..yes body become more stiff
but in physics, energy cannot be destroy..
so let say before a front strut bar install to pull two absorber mount, the two mount absorber 50% 50% of flex..a bar installed, no flex already..the 100% energy goes where..when cornering the '100%energy' from the absorber cannot be flex so the 'energy' will find a weak point at any area of body and at that point will start to weak... and lama lama got ngek ngek sound at there.. worst is that point will break a part...

like that is good to running yr engine
running in engine need changing the load, rpm, throttle control..
just dont full throttle, dont over 3500rpm...
once at top genting dont shutdown engine, let it cool 1-2minute(for TC, TCP only)...

No problem. The old way of thinking that keep low speeds, cannot rev high at all etc is outdated. Just 2 things to avoid to do during the first 1000km - it’s listed in your manual & in the 1st page, 1st post, 1st FAQ smile.gif

Need to be slightly more rajin - every day after park, set zone alarm (zone out). Need to enable/disable every time you park to be safe. Since you can set unlimited times, it's a bit of a hassle, but doable.

I agree that Connex is simpler, but Katsana has it's own advantages - track driving usage, driving patterns, always on etc.

Pretty interesting statistic from Katsana Website . I wonder what is the statistic for stolen Honda cars. hmm.gif

Copy & paste from the site,
1 car is stolen every 24 minutes

Locate stolen vehicles without breaking the wallet. At KATSANA, we are drivers too, and we understand what it takes to keep our vehicles safe. So we developed KATSANA TrackTM, for regular users, an efficient and affordable car tracking solution

Most popular stolen cars in Malaysia

General Insurance Association of Malaysia(PIAM) revealed that 19,307 vehicles were stolen in 2016. The highest ratio of theft is lead by Toyota Vellfire where 114 vehicles were stolen. This is then followed by several popular 4×4 vehicles, such as Toyota Hilux (2nd place), Mitsubishi Pajero (3rd place) and Ssang Yong Rexton(8th place)

The rest of the stolen car list is filled by popular cars such as Proton Putra, Proton Perdana, Nissan Vanette, Proton Satria, and Toyota Liteace

Hi fellow members,

Anyone know where can I get a cheap/reasonably priced PS4 tyres around Klang Valley area? If yes, can I get a contact? You can PM me or reply here directly.

Just burst one of my tyre when driving over a sharp cement stone, thinking of changing the entire set to PS4.

Thank you.

I think this is related to the 3 way hose thingy. Affected owners should already get their letters to replace them.

Coating doesn't protect the paint from stone chip anyways... expected to chip when stone hits, it protects against scratches better than the original coat.

Coating doesn't protect the paint from stone chip anyways... expected to chip when stone hits, it protects against scratches better than the original coat.
*
Correct, the general perception is coating is a thick strong layer. In reality it's no more than tens of microns thick.

Yeah, i agree with that. Coating does not protect from stone chips. But i am quite worried on the quality of the paint itself. That's why checking with other owners is it normal?
*
We cant avoid stone chips especially when we often travel on highway with high speed. Mine also kena few on bonnet. I just touch up with Ezy touch up paint. Now can only see if very near. Mine Lunar Silver so not so obvious compared to other colors .

For those of you using dash cam, do you plug it into the USB at the front? I'm usually using that for Android Auto so not sure where to plug the dash cam.
*
Use the 12V DC Plug aka Cigarette Lighter plug. Normally dashcams would provide the adapter for it.

Ya is easy to apply (Paint then followed with clear coat) They provide brush in the bottle and another very small brush like toothpick.

No matter what you still have to touch up to avoid rust in that chip area.

First few days heart pain to see only lar.. after weeks.. i don't even care and notice anymore.. lol..

Hi all, anyone using tinted has wave effect on front windscreen when there is reflecting light ?
Tinted shop claims it is because civic FCC front windscreen is very curve.

Or are you referring to the rainbow effect under fluorescent lighting (eg. car park)?

If you referring to the wave... as in when you see through it will have lines/waves of distortion then that is workmanship issue.

To be sure, if your just got this tint less than 2 weeks ago, give it time to cure. Any distortion after a good baking in the sun for a couple weeks is worksmanship/film problem. Be careful when driving at night with this
*
Yes, first tinted is after 2 weeks not enough sun bake and go back re do 2nd time.

2nd time now is less than 1 week, sun bake few days and found the issue same.

Is it Normal must to have sun bake for 2 weeks ?

That is workmanship issue. I had my windscreen installed 3 times... first time had the wave you mentioned, 2nd time got dents but no wave, third one... got minor waves but I gave up ._. after 2 years or so then I claim again.

Sure the shop will tell you it will go off after 2 weeks... but based on my experience this round, its workmanship and does go off one.

Im using Vkool as well (V Kool 55) on mine. I can tell there is no such wave/distortion as u say.
But last time on my Wira, i faced this wavy scenario (mid range brand tint). Brought back to shop
and the sales guy agree to change it immediately.

Mostly would be workmanship or the Film itself was not in good form prior to installation.

Workmanship as well as incomplete curing I guess? Don’t hear any complaints from our members using VKool - other than the occasional smart tag issues smile.gif

No unit is supplied to any Civic in the region. There is no need coz we don’t have the spill proof (capless) system installed.

No such post or a group one. It’s a highly subjective issue. Our routes are not the same, nor are our driving habits or driving conditions. There is no right or wrong answer. Thus I can only speak about my own FC, but it’s not what you will get smile.gif

Hello all have any one of you face this issue before?
When selecting the music icon, the display on the dashboard is in infinite loop circle.

I've tried reboot and reset HU, still same issue no matter which audio source I select.

Make sure they filled up the measurement, don't simply tick and done. Best to double check right away before payment or after.

Since they already stated out the acknowledgement repair work performed by qualified technician, ask him directly this can proof as black and white. Don't accept if no body wanna sign it.(not in the showed attachment)

Guys, I noticed that whenever got software update for AA, Waze, firmware or change Android launcher etc, Waze most of time will not appear or AA not stable.

Then need to uninstall & reinstall both AA & waze to make it work again. Anyone has this issue? How do u solve it? I'm using Huawei P9+ with Android 7.0. Tq

Sometimes, there are no problems, sometimes there are problems. The only solution so far is the one lordwood mentioned, clear cache, clear data, uninstall, reinstall. Fortunately, I only have to spend less than 3 minutes to do this as it has become 2nd nature tongue.gif

So far the problem I encounter, is not able to launch AA or not detect AA on the HU. Sometimes need to reboot HU and phone to solve the problem. So far have not done any reinstall of AA, Waze & Google Maps and no need to clear cache. AA have been updated a few times for newer version. My phone Oppo A57 stuck with Android 6 since no OS upgrade from Oppo. Only have some minor security updates.

Anyone knows how turn off Google weather report during Waze navigation ?
When driving with Waze and sometimes Google too smart, pop up the screen for weather report. I would have to select the touch screen back to Waze while still driving. Really annoying. doh.gif

I wondered the same during my 10k service too. With Toyota, they will fill the details up and provide the measurements but for Honda, I see nothing.
Also, car jerking when first start? Does it feel like a bit of a shudder when it's finished starting and disappears after a couple of starts?

klang.
u see, honda release specific numbers of cars to branch regardless how much the branch have the booking in hand.

so if that branch have alot booking in hand, but only receive 4cars for that month, then u're gone case...

so if the branch have 1 booking in hand, but receive 4 cars for that month, you probably get ur car super fast.

*yes, i do have rebate of around 6k cash.

Use insurance - easiest. But last time I got hit from the back, Honda changed my whole rear bumper for around RM2k iinm. Not too sure coz used my insurance (ODKFK) to replace it.

Depends, you need to calculate. Anyway, since you got hit in the back, you should claim the other party’s insurance, or your own insurance under ODKFK which will not affect your NCD

See the "A/C" button?

Press it and display will show "A/C ON", press again will show "A/C OFF"

But even when it shows "A/C OFF", the air con is still cooling confused.gif

In the User's Manual, there is a section which says if car interior is very hot, do this:
- put "A/C ON"
- max the fan
- temperature set the "LO"

Does that mean that, in normal condition, can leave in "A/C OFF" mode? blink.gif

Please advise...I'm noob. Just bought this car second hand notworthy.gif

A/C off should be only the airconditioning is off, the fan is still running. Maybe that’s why it’s cool? Don’t really understand your question though tongue.gif

Anyway, if A/C is turned off, there would be no temperature numbers if I’m not mistaken... The temperature LO is the lowest temp for the aircond (16c)

Get an android phone. Use it for Android Auto and spare phone. iPhone as main phone and messages. That's what I do.  thumbup.gif

When i used waze on AA, it will automatically connect bluetooth to perform AA. My problem is i cannot connect to my iphone for phone call because AA already take the Bluetooth connection. Any tips?

Technically..

If you were to read up on tis, our ori [paper] filters cannot be cleaned - l tink its due to microscopic dirt [ which cannot be cleaned ] embedded in it - hence the request to change [note ; not 'cleaned' ]
l guess wat we are able to see as dirt is not tat significant, even if 'cleaned'

Didn’t notice an issue with the Whatsapp. Maybe you need to relook the permissions set for WhatsApp and AndroidAuto?

Sharing tricks for by pass HU, hope i'm not too late, this trick was already on civicx forum since June. No Y-cable installation required. No rooting android required. Reversible. (Note i have not test all the function yet but it looks promising, as always do it at your own risk)
No pic for guidance try to use your imagination laugh.gif I won't be explaining every detail but here it goes:
Step 1: Go to HU android browser

Step 2: Clear the browser address and enter exact following input without the quotes "about:debug" then press go (nothing will happen first, it's intended)

Step 3: Clear the browser address again and this time enter exact exact following input without the quote "file///" then press go
(by now you should see file menus)

Step 4: In the file menu navigate to vendor>app> then search for something like 'whiteListService.apk' and tap it. (Warning: do no tap on any other files or apk, i do not know what will happen but be warn)
It will ask for installation, allow it and tap the install button, then it will prompt installation failed, nevermind that is also intended.

Last Step: Hold power button and restart the HU. Now try and see by pass is working or not, play movie, browse picture..etc

I've tested the "by pass". It works for HU default browser and calculator and setting is enable even when vehicle is moving but i haven't got the chance to test the hdmi mirror link yet.
I'm going to try that on CR-V it should be the same.

Well, as for more tech savvy guys, u should have guessed by the name whiteListServiceApk, this is how honda does restriction for our HU. It is better than rooting, just alter the whitelist.xml will work as intended. Personally i have not tested it yet but people in civicx sort of confirm this approach worked for installing external apk.

Hi guys, I install the official spoiler from Honda and i notice that they just remove the connector from my 3rd brake light and plug into the spoiler brake light.

I ask my SA whether can I have both spoiler and original 3rd brake light to be both connected, he said must cut and split the wire. Would like to know if there any plug and play splitter connector option available?

If pressing on the power button for the HU longer than 10sec is not working, you may need to go back to the SC for HU replacement.

Power button is not on the screen per se, but to the side of it. Still is touch control though - you have indeed tried it and it does not work? If yes, then go replace under warranty. No issues.

After one year. So far i still like to drive the civvic but some of things still unable to solve by SC =(

Rattling on uneven road
Radio Static Noise ( i just use my phone internet radio for better sound quality + bluetooth )
Some panel gaps here and there
Grinding noise on second startup of the day ( no noise on first )

tbh i just want the rattling fix but i visit like 3 SC all say normal. Test drive out there and let them hear but noting done. Normally i switch on high volume to avoid me being stress of it

The dramatic rattling noise on uneven road is very unpleasant
