Been bothered by the rattle noise from the dashboard for too many months. Initially wanted to send to SC to get it fix, but then heard they will dismantle the whole dashboard and take few days to find the issue and get it fix, so decided to DIY.

Google around and found out there were 2 main causes of the rattle noise
1. The cover under the steering wheel is loose, i.e. not firmly attach
2. The driver side cover of the dashboard is loose

Mine issue is due to #2. After open up the cover, I discovered the clip pin is broken and therefore it constantly hit the cover (rattle noise) when the car going thru uneven road. I removed the clip pin and since then no more rattle noise rclxms.gif

I got a new Civic 1 month old. Dashboard rattling. Wrote to HM to help. Service advisor from Ambang Botanic called. I explained to him the rattling happens on rough road or when I drive above 100Km/h. He told me they must test the car to replicate the problem but can only drive up to 90Km/h because Kesas Highway speed limit is 90KM/h. !@#$%^&
I don't think he is serious about solving the problem, just give some excuse to get ride of me. And this is not the first time I face bad service from these "Honda" service centers.

Anyone knows of any service center that you take complains seriously?

my car also got same problem, SC foreman told me he has fixed 5 civic with same problem, took out the entire dashboard, sound are from aircond side.
end up i didn't let him to fix because worry it might get worst after take out entire dashboard. Even the test drive car also got the problem. So this is common issue for civic.

For 100km service on 1.8, the cost will be RM600, Iridium spark plug itself already RM440. Normally will you all bring back the car to service center after finish warranty period? How much the Iridium spark plug if buy it from outside?
