QUOTE(AccelTech @ Nov 16 2017, 01:38 PM) Hi Guys! I've been researching on getting a C segment and because of aesthetic purposes I might be going for the Honda Civic, regardless whether the variant is 1.8 or 1.5 TC. Would all the sifus here to advise what should I be looking at on getting either a used or new FC civic. Just did my booking last sunday, on the 1.8iMy budget is allocating around RM100 to 110k and installment looking below RM1.2k Currently driving a Suzuki Swift for 8 years so changing into a civic will be a huge upgrade for me. Loan approved on Weds, payment ~1.1k with 30k downpayment This is with a 2.5% interest rate of 7 years Used car would have higher interest rtes, I think? but a lower cost I am changing from a 1992 Nissan Sunny (father hands-me down) so that will be a bigger upgrade for me From what I know, the 2017 stock is going to be very limited and why's that?, The Discount of RM6k (4k from Honda, 2k from dealers) Missed that and you are looking at a RM2k discout only for the 2018 car QUOTE(Newbie838 @ Nov 16 2017, 02:27 PM) Hey guys, I need some input. Still in waranty period? Not sure if my gearbox is developing a problem but these past couple of days, it's been behaving weird. It feels almost like a manual gearbox driven by a learner driver where the clutch is released too early when driving off and pressed too late when stopping. It sort of jerks a little bit when coming to a stop or when pressing the accelerator. Any thoughts? can go check with SC better |

QUOTE(AccelTech @ Nov 16 2017, 05:02 PM) Great Analysis you have there my friend! PBB, the interest is around that range for new car and load 70k-100kI was thinking of a 10% D/P for a used car (dumping the rest in BTC haha) but after your reply I might have second thoughts on a new car instead. Would you share which bank offered you that interest rate? Didn't notice the discount is due to year end clearance for 2017 models. Would you think there will be any price difference on used units by next year? not sure about the used card scene though As for clearance, technically it is not clearance since a lot (myself included) is on the waiting list to get cars ~4-6 weeks the car sold now until year end is not made early of the year but currently are being assembled/ made Last 2017 unit transfer to customer vs 1st 2018 unit would be difference of a month if not weeks in production date the difference is that, the 2017 year end car will be seen as 1 year old car in 2018 thus the depreciation early on is bigger compared to getting a 2018 car in 2018 even though the actual manufacture date is different by a month or two the discount this time is to boost up sales qty before 2017 comes to a close |

QUOTE(gtp777 @ Nov 21 2017, 08:36 AM) What he is saying is that to use deduction method 1. Change of petrol brand/station. ----potential issue with that certain station. Example is when the refueler tank (big tanker) come refuel the station, the operator mixed up and refuel the petrol reservoir with some diesel. So changing petrol station can solve this kind of issue. 2. If the previous fails then go to Service center, since the issue is not with the petrol fuel |

QUOTE(ivn79 @ Nov 22 2017, 01:35 PM) Means anyone who bought & registered their car let say in 2018 not really a new year car, depending on year made? now have the 4k honda + 2k SA so total is 6k discountMeans the depreciation car value is depending on the year of made and NOT the year being registered?? I planned to buy the car in Jan early next year... somebody can enlighten me? Or else I should get it right now as I get more discount. Thanks year 2018 start the 4k is no more, only the 2+k only you decide of course if you looking to sell of in shorttime like 3-5 years, year end car is not worth it but if you like me can drive a 92 Sunny for > 10 years and not looking to change any car soon, the discount is as good as it gets unless you can wait for 2018 year end for more discount QUOTE(zhiwee0645 @ Nov 22 2017, 01:38 PM) then u cannot show your civic to relatives during Chinese new year oredi lor My SA say there is a cuttofflike the City, all also book up full, any more booking will not get the discount offer, even though you book now I book the car 2 weeks ago, and planned that if fail to get 2017 car, will just cancel and wait for next year end to see got what offer then early 2018 should not be a problem getting 2018 cars |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Nov 24 2017, 02:31 PM) IMHO, if you are already forking out more than 100k+ for a car, you wouldn't mind spending extra if it makes you happy. Sure you might not need those extra features but the satisfaction that comes along will make you regret why you didn't take it in the first place. wellAlso when you hear the turbo sound kicks in...vrrooommmmm, worth all of it. I had the problem like this waslooking to a Elantra 1.6MD for 90k but no more stock test drive the new elantra with no intention to buy a >100K car then after that... start self reasoning to get a 100k car then review here and there, settle for a 1.8s Civic not gonna self reason for the TC/TC-P cause i will then since its 130K car, can go up a bit get a accord then top up a bit get hi spec accord, etc... QUOTE(alvinrenren @ Nov 24 2017, 02:39 PM) The turbo sound is not that prominent in this civic. But it does feel more powerful. Yea since already fork out 100k+, should just get the top range and live with a better featured car, even if it means save up for another few months for it to get it. Save your money on the super expensive accessories and have a good tint as well. wellgoing for basics with intention to add a standard spoiler some time later |

QUOTE(isr25 @ Nov 27 2017, 05:03 PM) Actually, you just get your SA to quote, or your car dealer insurance department to revert the proper insurance price for the car. Windscreen coverage also depends on them to advise, but definitely not RM3k la. yeahNo, because in the event of you over insuring, the insurance company will only pay out the acceptable market rate for the car, even for HIP. Honda & HIP has a guideline on acceptable sum insured for the year of your Honda car. In short, you are just wasting your money paying the additional premium. just like my ol' sunny was insured until 2015 as comprehensive sum insured is RM10,000 but the pay out is ~3-5K it is cos the car >20 years sum insured high is becos the car is too old, so they need to charge higher premium but the payout is based on car market price, which is less than half of the sum insured |

QUOTE(luvjiajia @ Nov 28 2017, 09:28 PM) I booked mine on 8th Nov and til now still no news from my SA for the allocation.. I am from penang mainlandMay i know which branch you booked and what spec/color are you taking? Motoria Prai orchid White 1.8s QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Nov 28 2017, 09:42 PM) Is it? I thought only the first year is 100%? if smell mouldy after rainMy car also have some weird moldy smell, i think it usually after the rain. I replaced the windshield and it cost 2k to 2.1k By right the insurance cover the tinting too but my insurance only cover until 2k. So if possible, i think its better to cover 2.5k to 3k. So that you can also apply a new windshield tint after replacement. then there migh be water leakage lehhh |

QUOTE(turion64 @ Dec 18 2017, 04:24 PM) Hello bros need your help..currently my 2 month old TCP produce a loud screeching noise from the front passenger tyre area. The sound only comes on whenever the car is moving. It gets louder as i accelerate. Any idea what could be the issue? Currently im stuck at genting, is it advisable to drive down? Or should i call a tow truck? it gets louder when you accelerate or you get fasterEdit-checked the brake pad seems fine. Braking power is good as well. No other foreign material observed on and underneath the car. Applying brake does not interfere with the noise. more accelerate more sounds means engine more speed more sound (going downhill) means something is scraping |
