since is running faster .. keep quiet and use the service happy . Complain when is running slower than yr package

the download is SLOW, but the UPLOAD is faster

what about trying to dl sumthin,, and see the dl speed

tried doing speedometer and downloading gunbound, still around 20kb/s only

Btw, don't complain, I use the unlimited 512k dload usage and get 408 dload only .


Your streamyx is running faster than it should (miscapped), but you're lucky that it is running faster than it normally should, so don't complain.

How come you guys don't read his post properly.

He is only getting DL 208kbps. Whatever he is capped at the DSLAM is no use if he is getting DL of less than 50% of 512kbps.

karhoe , your line is really bad. Your SnR margin is really weak. Are you facing a lot of disconnections. I suggest you to call 1300889515 or/and 100 about this matter. Your signal is really weak

opposite the upload suppose to be download speed and the download speed suppose to be upload speed

hmmm this is the case very bad line and miscapped.. both in one package.. should definitely call 1-300 or report to local TMPOINT/CLICKERS/TMNET office..

The upstream & downstream data rate is only available by accessing your modem and not the Linksys router.

If I wanna upgrade my streamyx speed from 512K to 1M, what should I need to do and how much should I pay for the registeration ?

best way, go to TMPOINT/Clickers/TMnet office and fill-in a form. There's no fee for upgrade.. but for 1M, the monthly fee would be RM88 instead of RM66 for 512k.

what yo can do is, take 3 test on tmnet speedomeeter page and if the result is less that 70% of your subscribed speed, then print the result and bring it to your nearest TMPOINT/Clickers/Tmnet office to file a report or call 1-300-88-9515.

even better way is to disconnect your current account if you have held it for more than 12 months and open a new account by taking the current promotion which gives you a free modem and also 1MB for RM77 instead of RM88. No connection fee as well.

i have asked the tmnet agent if i upgrade my plan from 512 to 1m, can i get the offer RM77, and they say can get. and no extra charge also.

I just find it out just now. Here's are my situation.
My package is Streamyx Basic 1.0Mbps. The upload/download speed should be 384kbps/1.0Mbps. I always assume that. However, just now I went to 192.168.1.1 and check out my things. To my surprise, my upload/download speed is 256/512 kbps!!!!

For those who are using 1.0Mbps package, what's your upload/download speed as shown there?


If it's really given me the wrong package, what's the proof I can show to TM Net that I'm not receiving the correct package. Print screen of that site and print it out? Is that proof strong enough?

If there's the case, do you think I can claim back the past few months subcription fees? I have been subscribed for more than half year....Pay 1.0Mbps package and get 512kbps package, which mean RM22 extra for nothing!!!

IT seems that this is news to u .. but alot of ppl although they pay for 1.0mbps package but they will get only around 700 kb/s so .. but u may try to lodge a report mayb they can fix it for u ..

I'm getting that too. from the posts in the forum, best thing is go to clickers and ask them to rectify it. I'm planning to do it by this week.

not sure if you can get a rebate on that but worth to try. good luck.

Hmmm.. another miscapped case. Your miscapped account can be corrected easily by calling/visiting streamyx. But to get rebate.... you got to really voice it up. However, I think you will be able to get the rebate. Good luck!

I read aout the miscapped topic, some go even 8Mbps. But mine is ....Arrg.... I ran the speedometer test, get approx 6kbps, takes me 120++seconds to download 1Mb stuff(Run the test on midnight). My friend using 512 package even faster than me. I have already send an email to them last 2 weeks but still no reply.


Today I saw I'm getting this 256/512 figure makes me think that I'm not getting the package I want for 1/2 year.

well, when u 1st subscribe to streamyx and the basic speed is 512kb...if u opt for the 1mb speed line, tmnet will then have to upgrade the line from 512kb to 1mb...u need to let tmnet know abt wht speed u r actually getting, so tht they can upgrade the port...it might take some time...

I just subscribe to the new holiday package and I m oso have the same thing...took abt 1 week for them solve my problem...just keep calling them...cheers...

I've been using the 512 package for more than a year now.

For the past two days, I faced problem connecting to streamyx. My router's ADSL led just keep blinking and it wont connect. I check 10.1.1.1 and it shows the Operation Status as Hand Shaking...

So, I have been offline for two days.

However, I get to connect today. I check 10.1.1.1 and guess what, it shows I'm connected at 1024/384.... TMnet giving away free upgrade huh ? I'm only paying 66 each month. Anyway, I dont feel any speeder web surfing or downloading, it all appeas the same to me.

Every modem has a different IP to enter the configuration page.

i have been using TMNET 77 holiday package (1M) for almost a month and receiving a download speed of 400 plus....
and i have been complaining for like 3 weeks but still no action taken..
still at that speed..

seriously mad...

and the free gift that is mentioned on the package like free online newspaper for a month....is not accessible....

i wonder how streamyx ppl do their work to deliver their promise...

Holiday package only got RM44/- 88 hrs (512 kbps), and RM77/- unlimited (1 Mbps). Btw now already 2006, so holiday package over already.

But you can upgrade to the normal package RM66 unlimited (512kbps), I think. However I think you need to go to TMpoint or Clickers yourself or ask one of the 'resident' agents here to help you.

I subscribe to Basic 512 package, I have been downloading at speed around 40++ KB per sec. But since last week, I discovered my line has been changed to 1024/384 bandwidth, I dont know why.

Now I'm downloading at speed around 55 KB per sec. This 55 KB per sec is way below the 1024kbps speed....

So, can anybody gives me some suggestion what should I do to improve my download speed ?

I think the best way is to print a snapshot of your modem page and also TMnet speedometer test results and complain directly to TMpoint. Once you have registered your complaint they will give you a printed complaint slip with the reference no and description of the problem.

After that if they take a long time to fix your problem, you use that as proof to claim for rebate.

I have a a money issue with TMNet too.Off course I have make complaint and whatever black and white to support.
Along the way they sent some not nice e-mail and I answer back.
I refuse to pay them the disputed amount for more than 2 years.
I just pay the rm66 every months but not the disputed amount.
I hold the money (about rm280 ). Eventually after 2 years , they agree and I pay about rm260.
So for rm20 dispute , I hold the total amount for 2 years.

You should do the same.Just don't care, pay rm66 and let the diffeent accumulate and when its 1Mb line then pay rm77 (but before paying that , plse minus whatever you had overpay them)

The money is in your hand.They had better come out a better way to take your money.

I'm trying to upgrade from RM77 to RM88 online but the stupid website won't let me. Where's the 1mbps Basic pack? It only lists the Enterprise and Corporate packs

same problem here as well...but i upgraded my package at tmpoint KLJ~ then after 1 month they still not upgraded me..so i went to complaint again at tmpoint...immediately after 1-2 hrs my line being upgrade from 512 to 1m but my download still ard 55kbps only..before upgrade is ard 47kbps......erm

the gal say will ask the tmnut tech guy to upgrade my line on this monday...but....could it be the tmpoint there upgraded my line but the dslam there not yet cap?...

I had the 512 Kb for more than 2 years. My average dl is 430 Kb on good seeds.
Then I have the 1 Mb line.My average dl is only 470 Kb eventhough I can hit 820 Kb at TMNET speedometer.
The speedometer test is quite useless cause it only measure a SINGLE transaction to TMNET FTP for 10 SECONDs only.

So unless you are lucky , there is only a very slight improvement in dl speed.

If I have known , I will definitely NOT choose the 1 Mb line.
So if you are doing fine ,DON'T go for 1 Mb

You went to TMPoint. I'm trying not to go there. I want to upgrade online. What the hell is an online upgrade webpage for then? TMSuck is so stupid. I emailed them already about this telling them to fix it, they said "thanks for noticing our dumb mistake" and until this point in time, it has not been fixed. They seem to ALWAYS delay whatever customers want.

Plus TMPoint staff are ugly and don't process requests properly (like what you just said. One month still no upgrade)

actually i asked tmpoint staff ab the question on if they can retify the problem so that i can apply my upgrade thru online but she say..it's hard...so she ask me to apply that time at tmpoint...so..the only way u can do..is to go over tmpoint...

TMNUT online application is hopeless. As I know only reseller can ugrade/downgrade online for you because it involves many people to get a simple thing done.

TMNUT work flow is chaos at best. Seriously they have to get some consultants like me to set up a workable workflow or system.

Then those dumbasses might as well just remove the whole page off the net so that they don't confuse anymore clients. Plus, they are an ISP, so this kind of stuff shouldn't be "hard". Well obviously TMSuck is not a normal ISP so yeah. They find everything hard.

hi. TMnut also miscapped me, but now just restored only.

I'm using Basic 1Mbps package. I did the Speedometer test n i got:

DL = 102.45kbps; UL = 40.94kbps
DL = 819.6kBIT; UL = 327.52kBIT

Is this the correct speed that I should get? I still hav doubt about the connection speed coz my fren got up to 700kbps (max so far) when he download stuff from certain website.

Besides, another fren of mine who stayed at USJ 1 got the same result as mine (shown above). Wat surprise me is... his only 1 Basic 1Mbps line is splitted into 6 computers n all of them were online at the same time while we were doing the test.

I'm not really good with this kind of things... pls advise. Thx.

Obviously you got the right speed because you wouldn't have got above 512kbps if they had miscapped you lower.

I normally use kbps=kilobits per second and kBps=kiloBytes per second.

i've always been usin rm77 package....recently my line had been upgrade from 512kbps to 1.0mbps...without notice or whatsoever.So i assume it's an upgrade that streamyx had made for me/us and i found out my download speed are higher den usual..which i used to download at 53kbps...n i got 61kbps
now..the real nightmare starts here,jz yesterday.my download speed had been reduced to almost 10-9kbps.
is this a case of miscap or what?

2ndly,what download speed dat 512kbps or 1mbps suppose to have?

First,did you use bt download?If bt now not only you have such problem but everyone also facing this shit problem.

Second,as i know for 512k connection you should be able download around 51kb and for 1mb connection you be able download around 100kb.

I subscribe to the 512kbps package, but I'm getting capped at 1024 says my modem. But the speeds I get are very low, only 40kBps. When I check my transfer graph (using DU meter) i get this:

I don't get it. Why does my connection peak to 100kBps, then drop to 0(ZERO!!)kbps then peaks again. I really don't get it. Anyone have any ideas? I thought that it might be something to do with them capping speeds at the DSLAM although my line is capped at 1024.

Been using RM88 for months, realizing since the 1st day that they gave me 512kb instead of 1mb, called them, they recorded now, and now this is my 4th complained made on them, still stick with 512kb package, they told me I am staying in Ampang, the line there is bad and old, so it won't support 1mb package...

Is it true? I thought since they are offering 1mb, they should have come up with the requirement to fulfill what they offered to us.

If so, bloody hell, why didn't they tell me from the beginning since I applied it in TMpoint somewhere near my house(of course in Ampang too, near Ampang point), and now they are refusing me to downgrade my package, saying that I had only applied it for 5 months...

Near Ampang Point should have 1MB , . You need to mock them up by phone call or appoint them. Even my 'kampung' area can have 1MB, with those elite region (Ampang Point) should have it right ,

i applied streamyx for 1.0mb but when i do bandwith test i just got 200-300kps..i thinks this is rate for 512kb...

i call telekom for complaint that problem...about 2 week later they call me that they just upgrade my streamyx connection...

i do the bandwith test again it still 200-300kps...anybody know how can i get above 600kps?

Hello guys. Decided to drop by here since i'm starting to have questions about my net speed for quite a while now.. quite slow.

Do you think this is a normal speed for a RM 88 package? ( RM 77 since i applied it during one of the promotions last year's April ) I checked at the speedometer and looking at my result, it doesn't look like a 1mbps speed My modem right now is a ZXDSL 852, i hate that modem. Cannot download torrents anymore since it'll just give me the BSOD everytime i try. I dunno why the technician changed it last year since my old blue one is perfectly fine.. haih... the port got problem, not the modem... now i'm stuck with this one.

Just wanna check, i don't want to be paying for a RM 88 a month when the fact the speed is different from the one i subscribed. I don't mind if i work and got money of my own but i rely on my pocket money to pay monthly, still in college haha.

hi guys, i using the ZXDSL 831 modem and find that my BT download speeds are quite slow recently (10-30kbps), below is the upstream and downstream data for my modem, it's showing 4608 for 'down' and 896 for 'up', is this normal for my 1Mb RM88 package ?



should i do port forwarding for this modem ? (will it help in increasing the speed ? ), i've done the prot forwarding for the previous modems but for this one i'm a bit of confused on where to set it, i tried the method posted previously in this thread but it didn't work (the setting to router guide)

im using 512 package and my modem status show 1mb downstream 512 upstream...

me too, just got back home and noticed that my BT is super fast, usually it's 50kb/s max but now it's 95kb/s. Wow..!! So i check my modem and yeah... i got the same 1024/512 speed too.

the "published" downstream you've al got is 1024.. (for those using 66 package.)

originally we should only see max 512kbps.. but now its 1024kbps.. so ? happy ?

tmnut upgraded your line ? spread the good news ? before you do these. please do some due diligence..

go microsoft or somewhere, use any download accelerator (or without one), and see what is your net/effective/actual downstream speed. its still.. at 512kbps speed.

so basically, it hink the 1024kbps.. is just a label. just a "name" or "publicity". thats all. because you still get the same ol' speed.

maybe anyone know how to "uncap" the remaining 512kbps ?

im not actually so happy with the extra 512Kbps thing as my current download speed is not reflecting the truthfullness of 1024Kbps...

well my dload speed is nearly 100kb/s while my upload is above 45kb/s, so i can safely say mine is definitely 1024/512

My RM66 package download speed is 3.2kb now!! like that i better use 56k!

TMNet currently upgrading all dslam speed to 1-3Mb. I not sure why, but it much easier for them to manage the speed based on username. Even with speed capped at 1-3Mb, there are still another capping at BRAS. So still you getting the same speed you subscribed.

So why complain if you modem speed show even 8mb but you subcribe to 512 and geting 50+KB? Unless you get <80% you the speed, then start complaining.

i agree. at the end of the day, you get what you paid. but if in case you don't ? stop talking to 1300889515, talk to the new ceo.

why ?

first, you call to 9515, u need to spend 3 minute to press to the most frequent used service. (the least frequent are ordered first and descending. this way, telekom charge you more for phone bills)

then, you have to listen to an operator to remind you to check whether you problem is the affect of not paying your bill. (they're stupid as shit, place the billing enquiries at number 1-1 instead of number 2-7 will do, it will do the job, speedy, efficiently and effectively.)

after the operator, you'll have another menu, listen to the babel, wait 3 minutes before it finishes, then press the last number (the most frequently used service, technical enquiries or activation)

right after that, listen to some guy singing while promoting streamyx while you already subscribed to it, approximitly 4minutes. even tho they have 20 operators free, you still need to wait and listent o the song.

heres come the actual part. normaly you would think that you could finally voice up your problem. but hey.. hold on, every operator has a list of 20 quesitons to aks you or for you to "troubleshoot' (aka, switch on and off, plug in and out, do it again, switch off your pc and modem, then on together; which takes you about 10minutes). if problem still exist, THEN only you speak.

but everytime i call i just say i've done all that before i called you
even if they insist, i just say "done" right after they read the task i must do to troubleshoot.
you can even try to say the task urself before they ask you to do tht.
eg, ya i've flush my dns "ipconfig /flushdns", im using/created a new dailer to connect, i've restart my modem for 99times, i've upgrade to latest firmware, i've go to tmnet speedtest the speed is blah blah.

anyone know how to downgrade from 1024kbps to 512kbps in modem?
before this my modem status is 512kbps and can download at 50KB/sec but after TMnet upgrade my line(because they give me wrong capped) to 1024kbps i only can download <20KB/sec. meaning that at 1pm (modem status is 512kbps) i can download at 50KB/sec, after that i go to TMpoint complained wrong capped (because i subscribe 1M), and 2 hours later 3pm, they update my line to 1M but i can only download <20KB/sec.
so i want my 512kbps back, anyone know how to downgrade using modem?

I got 1024/512 too. My BT can speed can reach 60KB/s.
Benchmark DL speed at streamyx shows that my true speed is still at 512K.

At least my BT will download faster.

Already filed a complain and a report has been done, so far no results from them yet....sheesshh

First, how long have you get your connection? Because TMnut will only give you(rectify) the proper speed after "14 WORKING DAYS" So, meanwhile you really have to bear with it... I faced this before and it was solved exactly after 14 <<WORKING>> days...

ive subscribed 1mb package..since then i only got 380kb/s for dl...then after 2 months complaining..( every 3 days in 2 mths )..but today ...



827 kb/s for dl
438 kb/s for up

Hi guys, i'm using the basic 512 package (44). I'm thinking of upgrading it to basic 512 (66) but i visited the website and only saw the option of upgrading it to the 1m package and above. Is upgrading to the basic 512 (66) possible? and how do i apply?
My billing date is on the 24th, if i upgrade, do i need to wait another month or will it be immediately?

just now using BT downloading at 40KB/sec, still didn't feel any slowness, then go to check the connection speed...

maybe they havent change ur connection to 1M...call the stupid 1-300-88-9515 for assistant and asked them the phone number of guy who responsible to jaga the streamyx jumper at your area...i did once last time and they gave the number to me...
