well, in the end, the main ingredient is still whey isnt it? regardless of digestive enzymes etc etc. personally for me i still think price is the main factor for me choosing any particular brand. but then again, i am not the type that would blame the protein shake if i dont make decent progress. its -still- a supplement for me, after all.
ON has the platinum series, if i remember the name correctly, which is more expensive than your regular whey. thats the hydrolyzed whey..
Yes you are correct, the main ingredient is still whey. But as I have mentioned, even whey has grades eg percentage of WPI/WPC, pre-hydrolyzed etc. Thats why my argument of one brand of whey being better than others. And you are correct that we dont blame supplement for plateau, but again who doesnt want the best supp out there, price wise and quality wise.
And btw, this is the description for ON's 100% whey:

Optimum's Gold Standard 100% Whey™ has won the Supplement Of The Year and Protein Powder Of The Year awards for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010! Since the very beginning, Optimum Nutrition has raised the standard by which all other whey protein supplements are judged. The proprietary blend includes:
Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolates
Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Isolates
Ultrafiltered Whey Protein Concentrate
HydroWhey Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides
To give you more of what you want (pure, unadulterated whey protein) with less of what you don't (fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, lactose, and other carbohydrates) with every serving. This whey protein supplement is no exception. In fact, ON Gold Standard 100% Whey is better than ever! Here's why:
ON Gold Standard 100% Whey provides more whey protein isolates (WPI) - the purest and most expensive source of whey protein available.
Higher protein percentage. ON's Gold Standard 100% Whey has always been a leader in this respect. Now with 24 grams of protein in just slightly over one-ounce serving, it's nearly 79% protein by weight!
We've included more HydroWhey strategically hydrolyzed, low molecular weight whey peptides to make ON's Gold Standard 100% Whey even faster acting!*
ON's Gold Standard 100% Whey now contains lactase and Aminogen digestive enzymes to further enhance absorption and make this product even more friendly to lactose intolerant individuals.*
ON's Gold Standard 100% Whey is instantized to mix easily and completely with just a few twirls of a spoon.
Every serving supplies even more low, moderate, and high molecular weight, biologically active whey protein microfractions including Alpha-lactalbumin, Glycomacropeptides, Beta-lactoglobulin, Immunoglobulin G (IgG), Lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase, and various growth factors.
Over 4 grams of glutamine and glutamine precursors as well as 5 grams of BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, and valine) in each scoop!
It is partially hydrolyzed as I have mentioned in earlier post. Platinum has got higher percentage of hydrolyzed whey/WPI.
Cheers

Quite correct unless they have a buy 2 get 1 free offer. Then you'll see me go berserk in there.
There was once even better promo: buy one free one. I still remember stocking up on them. Nowadays the price cant compare to the webstores even after 50% discount.
