Most cases is not about how much protein you take, but seriously how hard do you train. Are you really going for your max rep, or are you playing it safe? also how long are you resting between sets. I've seen a lot of guys who jack up with supplements show very little results. Look into your training regime bro. If you're good here, then it could be you're over training as well. Would help if you draw out training schedule for the guys here to rule out the possibilities.

Again and I can't stress it enough. The key to reaching your goals are in quality reps, not quantity reps

have to live with it.. money can find as long we get healthy body

Actually if you seriously do the math. Protein supplement is quite cheap really. I mean that is if you factor out that 1 egg = 5g of protein.

If this was read wrongly. It's sound like a 'gigolo'.  sweat.gif

Dharmain, thanks for mentioning that but I saw a lot people in gym was doing with lot reps and heavy weight.
As for me, I can't afford to get Personal Trainer or PT. My only PT is Youtube.  laugh.gif

Its all about lifting YOUR max rep bro. For example if benching 5kg is your max, then lift that instead. Lifting too heavy will just botch your form entirely or even worse, cause unnecessary injuries. As time passes, you'll gradually get stronger, lift heaver and get bigger. That's how all the big guys here got it. I can honestly tell you that the ones you see with serious results are not EGO lifters & those who lift with their EGO are still hoping and trying to be like the rest of us.

Go slow, listen to your body. You'll know when you're lifting too much. A good rule here is to keep things simple 3 sets (8-12) reps. And of course, don't rest too long between sets either keep it to a max of 30secs. Yep, 30 seconds bro... You'll sweat buckets but most importantly, you'll get stronger. If you can read, then you don't need a PT. Do your reading and you'll be fine. Here's a good site that I'll seriously recommend to everyone:

http://www.simplyshredded.com/

Pretty awesome site indeed. Loaded with good info, good pictures and (ya knoe what I'm gonna say next rite biggrin.gif )

Anyone tried Champion Nutrition's Pure Whey? It has a similar profile to ON's Gold Standard (slight variations) but its a whole lot cheaper. Tastes better to me too (though taste preferences does differ from one person to the next)

Muscletech is kinda pricey No?.. its only a four pounder compared to ON. Not sure about the rest, but I noticed not much difference in terms of gains compared to using ONs. Besides, the hardcore series doesn't shake well either.

From a friend who imports supplements. Not too sure how much it is comparatively outside (if there are any), but it seems to be okay for me. Similar profile to ONs gold standard. So its just whey, no creatine and all the other fancy stuff.

Looking at the contents section, ONs do have a slight better BCAA profile though. But look, it also depends on how well your body absorbs it. No harm in trying something new, as long as its not muscle milk. I suppose if you're happy with using Gold Standard in the past, this would just be an affordable alternative

I tried several tubs of ON gold whey when i first started out. Saw now result at all, maybe so little that I barely noticed. After that changed to Myo, saw pretty good result and am happy that I changed. Difference between ON gold whey and Myo is ON is pure whey while Myo is a protein blend. Research shows that protein blend produce greater results due to prolonged protein synthesis.  biggrin.gif

I think ONs Gold Standard are pretty much a protein blend too. Maybe just a different blend entirely. They pretty much stack up more or less the same. There are a lot of guys who swear by using basic ON's Gold Standard as they do with Myo. Which boils down to this: "Not all products are the same, use what works for you" but just lay off muscle milk!!.. that stuff is just nasty

as for protein....
protein blend for me! myofusion, snytha6, infusion black, super quad protein
no need to buy and drink bcaa, casein, whey separately rite?

yea that another thing. Whats the dillio with all the supporting supps like BCAA, etc. Do we actually need that considering that there are already a healthy amount of them including in the protein supps itself. What are your thoughts on this?
