If you do not have a Current or Savings Account with Maybank but you want a Maybank2U online account to check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions, you need to go to a Maybank branch to get it done. Better that inform the officer that you want the Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard as the main account and add your Maybankard 2 Amex to it. However if you want your Maybankard 2 Amex to be the main card for the account, when you first log in to register username add 0 to the 15 digits of your Amex card.

Maybankard 2 Cards FAQ:

1. The rebate is calculated according to the CALENDER month.
2. The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
3. For Principal Cards, the RM50 GST for AMEX is waived, but RM50 GST for Visa/MC remains.
4. For Supplementary cards, RM25 GST is imposed onto each Amex, Visa or MasterCard.
5. The GST will be billed a month or two after you received the card.
6. You do not need to activate the cards by calling in. Cards can be used immediately.
7. You do not need to post back the acknowledgment copy when you receive the card by post/courier.
8. The weekend rebate capped of RM50/month for the Maybankard 2 Amex is shared between the Principal and Supp cards.
9. If your M2U shows that you have a Maybankard 2 Cards Account, congratulations, it means you 'll be getting the cards soon. Call Customer Service if you do not want the cards or call them anyway to confirm.
10. If you cannot swipe the card at the merchant, call Customer Service, number behind the card.
11. The Starbucks 1 for 1 drink promotion with AMEX has expired on 31 July 2011.
12. Fastest way to get the Maybankard 2 Cards is go and apply at MBB Card Centre at 1U or KLCC where they are supposed to process your application within an hour. Saturdays also can.
13. The 5% cash back on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) for MBB 2 AMEX includes Petrol and is additional to the 5X Treats Points. However it is reported that some online transactions on weekends DO NOT earn the 5% cash back as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transaction.
14. Maybank Platinum credit cards including MBB 2 does not grant free access to KLIA or LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge.
15. You earn 1x TP everyday with your Maybankard 2 Visa or MC and including Petrol. Good for station that does not accept AMEX.
16. If you link your pay pal account to MBB 2 AMEX, it will take 2-3 days before it is shown in M2U.
17. Dell got no installment plan with AMEX and you won't get cash back if you purchase online on weekends.

Keep the Citibank MC but get a Maybank2 gold Amex + Visa. The features of the Maybank2 Gold Amex is a lot better than the Amex Gold CC (except MR points convertible to cash).

Apply the cards first (faster since you are an existing Maybank customer) then only cancel the Amex Gold CC. In the end you will have 3 cards, access to all Visa, MC and Amex promotions, tand only pay GST for 2 cards.

Common Info:

1- The rebate is calculated according to the CALENDAR month.
2- The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
3- The RM50 GST for AMEX is waived, but RM50 GST for Visa/MC remains.

Additional note:
1- It is safe to say that no reported case of successful free GST waiver so far. Just pay the GST and you will be able to 're-coup' it in no time :-)
2- The Treatpoints gained for AMEX is 4X + 1X = 5X .

Dear all..

I am not sure whether you already know this or not..but I just share with you yah..since its good news..

I went to Maybankard Center in One Utama this evening at around 3.30pm to apply for the Maybank 2 cards..

And guess what???? I've got a call from Maybank at 6.30pm just now informing that my card has been approved..heheehehehe..I am so happy.. as this is my first primary credit card!

You can't, this is considered spamming.

By the way TS, it is calendar and not calender.

to more clarify,

2 - The rebate from this month is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the next month.
example all spend on 1,7,8,14,15,21,22,28 & 29 May will get the cashback (max rm50) on 1 or 2 June.

(mine, Transaction date 31-May-2011, Posting date 01-Jun-2011)

Just log on my maybank2u, i got 4 cards appeared there. M2C Gold and Platinum. All 4 cards with different card number. What is happening to my CC? 

better cancel the gold and keep the plat. unless u no need travel protection and free golf.

this is because the max cashback rm50 is shared under 1 name. so even u get 2 m2c amex, u wont get rm100 cashback

I feel this case shouldnt happen as this morning suddenly I received call from CS that they have upgraded my Gold to Platinum without any T&C! That really surprise me!
Since it's a card upgrade, my Gold cards shouldnt still appear in Maybank2u.

oh. the upgrade. need to clear all the balance in gold then call them and ask to remove the card number @ m2u.
happen to me to before. card already cancelled but it still there (both m2u and cimbclicks).

When I got my M2C Gold in April, my CL is only RM5k and the CL is shared with my Sony visa 

CL is not important. the important is u must pay the full statement balance every month ~

At that time the BNM rules havent been applied yet, coz I get my 1st pre-approved card, Sony Visa from maybank last year.
I think since it's my 1st CC from CC and they no require my payslip, so CL RM5k still quite reasonable lo.
But after I got my M2C Gold, they no increase the CL and still maintain at RM5k

This is a fine example how a simple act of recklessness or ignorance could potentially lead to cc fraud. Be more careful guys.

This is sad. Just got the card and need to suspend it. I know it's happy to get the card but you should educate yourself before getting a card and not simply showing off. A lesson learnt, bata. Hope you see erry-'s advice before went offline.

just got off the phone with Maybank. i already suspend, but its too late.
Someone just used it to buy AirAsia ticket and transfer to Paypal, the amount close to RM 4K.
i only post it here, so the culprit must be few forumers that saw it before

customer care told me the AirAsia might be refund, but PayPayl he dont know. anyone know?

Anyway, just write an email to PayPal; as well as did MayBank gives you a "report number"? If there is, attached that "report number" to PayPal so in case they want to verify with the bank; they can.

my personal experience (posted in previous CC thread - go search if u want to ) with RHB, RHB ask me to pay full amount 1st and they refund later. the process to refund took about 6 months!

No, not really. It depends on each bank's Fraud Detection parameter.
I do a lot of transaction online via HSBC also (payment to US, Singapore etc..). Sometime I receive calls, sometimes I don't know.

Yeah, I wondered about this too. I bought AA tickets and SCB never called me, but at least it has second layer of protection using Verified by Visa

Don't think they would release the name of the culprit to you. Because most of the time, it involve syndicate Fraud.

I believe the fraud transaction is definitely using Amex. Wonder when Amex is going to have something like 3D secure or TAC which can definitely help to reduce fraud cases even if the card is exposed.

Be careful to answer those phones also, it might be a fraud call from the same person to dig even more your personal information. Always call back.

Is it mean that culprit use bata's amex card to register as new paypal account. After that, transfer fund from new account to other paypal account?

If I not mistaken, paypal will reverse the transaction when they suspect since the amount transfered from new account is not small.

If it's the cache in user's PC then understandable.
But I only got to know of this topic because of the report.
So when I first acted on it, the pic is already gone; i.e. photobucket gif stating that "photo/video had been removed/moved". That is why I'm surprised that I can see it now although I never had the cache before.

Mm...if you add a card to paypal, you will need a 3 digit code that stated on the transaction for verification before it can be used by right. So I'm just wondering how can it be that fast.

Because AMEX doesn't have TAC verification, so no need to know the phone num.

I thikn what they meant is fraudsters usually pretend to be people with authority to call the victim and pretending to ask for personal information. Then used it for identity theft. So the advise is to call back the bank even if it's the bank whom called.

Not necessary, an unverified paypal member can transfer fund as long as u have register the CC in the account

can just 'pay with credit card via paypal' without adding any fund

if you buy things from trade sites like ebay, there's no need to verify or link the card to paypal to charge it.

There's something called "PAY AS GUEST"

Just need to enter card details then confirm payment

We don't need another R&R that no one reads.

Come to think of it, anyone can use our AMEX card if they know our Name, CC number and expiry date since it doesn't come with any security features requiring us to verify the transactions.

Next year, I must give AMEX minus 2 stars for my top 10 credit card evaluation if do no not come out with better security feature for online transactions. At least it is good that BNM making all card issuers to sms us when a transaction occurs with our card.

It shows how vulnerable card users are. If we opt to pay something over the phones, I saw in places to use Amex that some bill can be paid over the phone, isn't we expose ourselves to this danger as well.?
