funny how all these customer service people have different ideas and knowledge

It is widely known that CS in MBB is one of the worst. They do not even know their product range and ongoing promotions.

overseas transactions using Maybankard2 AMEX on weekdays is 1X, weekends is 5X.... Very very confirm
*
Eh...what are you talking about? It is 5x TPs for all transactions, regardless of when and where you swipe the cards. I guess you are confused with the 5% cash back on weekend.

Amount Due : RM2050.00
Statement date : 26th June 2011
Due Date : 15th July 2011
Weekend Rebate credit on 30 June 2011 (posted on 2 July 2011) : RM50

Is the Weekend Cash-back rebate consider as payment ?
i.e. Before Due Date, I pay RM2000 via Cheque/Cash/IBG only.. is that OK ?
*
Amex treats it as payment. But Alliance Bank does not practise this, and charged me interest a few times. I argued with Alliance CS officers many times on this.

Is this practice for the current Maybankard2 AMEX ?
*
It was my previous Amex Gold cc.

r the treatpoints evergreen?
*
Although the TreatPoints are evergreen, it is advisable to make redemption once you have accumulated certain amount of points. Banks keep revising the points requirement upwards from time to time in tandem with inflation.

Just wondering who can/will accumulate until hundreds of thousands of points to redeem the 42" plasma or led tv.
*
It is not so difficult to accumulate those points for big spenders. However, I doubt people would redeem the 42" TV. By the time you want to redeem the TV, the model is already dated.

jusco vouchers indeed a very good choice
but i just was the hush puppies voucher also not bad from the point wise of view
*
Some other vouchers are very good too, such as Metrojaya and Sogo vouchers. I have redeemed RM50 vouchers of Metrojaya and Sogo with less than 9,500 points each. Better redeem fast before Maybank adjust the points requirement due to inflation.

For those sensitive travelers/credit card users, my personal recommendation is to best use MC/VISA from MBB. The lower forex rate helps + you get points for spending. Using AMEX from MBB is probably akin to using the most expensive forex conversion for MC/VISA from other banks around town.
*
I do agree that MBB VISA and MC always have the lowest forex rate. Nowadays when I am in overseas, I would use Maybankard 2 Visa for personal expenses and Maybankard 2 Amex for company stuff because of the 5x TPs.

you can deduct the cash back from your statement balance
i've been doing that all this while and it's fine

QUOTE(ronnie @ Sep 2 2011, 08:24 PM)
The rebate given on the END of the month is considered as Payment to your outstanding balance.
basically you can pay less the rebate you received.
*
Be alert! It's all right to MBB but this is not applicable to other banks like Alliance Bank. I had been charged interest by Alliance Bank twice because of this.

you've got to screw them hard for it
this is even applicable to SCB JustOne, cash back is deemed as payment
*
It was a long process. The CS officers refused to reverse the interest charge. I directed the letter to their CEO and the problem was solved after 2 months.

Out of the blue, Alliance charged me again interest on my very last statement after I terminated the card. It was because cash back was reflected in the following month. What I paid was "statement amount minus cash back". I had a long argument with them when I asked them to waive the interest. I won, simply because I had terminated the card and it was the last statement.

Cannot count like that boss. Within a short 1 month of using my CC, i already get back around rm 5-800 indirectly from the bank tongue.gif

Sorry boss, didnt write finish because rushing to yum cha. I meant indirect cash back. The unlimited amount of 5X TP with AMEX really work to my advantage. i collect the points then redeem the voucher and just sell it out to my jiran and friends so its like i indirectly get cask back  sweat.gif
*
Were you exaggerating? In order to get RM800 indirectly, you need to have about 160,000 points, or you have to spend approximately RM32,000 per month constantly. Besides, I doubt people want to buy vouchers from you every month.
