I have both MBB and PBB CC. PBB is very stringent on purchase. They had called me several times to verify my purchase even is a few hundred bucks cellphone.
As for MBB, I havent receive any calls from them yet. They didn't even call me when I swipe my card overseas a shortwhile after getting those cards as I didnt inform them that I am going overseas.

Replacement due to expired card = same card no, diff expiry, diff CVC no. Replacement due to lost card = diff card no, diff expiry, diff CVC no.

Got my RM 50 this month but my rough calculation comes out to 990+ only. Maybe I counted wrongly.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 5 2011, 04:37 PM) I received a newsletter from Maybank, it was posted back to my hometown talking about free Starbucks voucher. It was due to my low usage on my cards, so they are giving me free. I received that piece of postcard a month back but I had yet to receive my 10 bucks complimentary voucher.

Those who didn't get means you had used your card shortly after getting your card. The T&C stated that in order to get the RM 10 voucher, you must swipe RM 50 within a month of getting the postcard. Basically, it is to encourage you to spend more only

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 8 2011, 09:13 AM) Guys, I just woke up and my mind is not yet fresh. So, my statement date is every month's 24th. My payment due date is 14th the following month. So I swiped something on the 1st this month, do I need to pay the amount before 14th? No right, it should due only next month's 14th? Am I right? I can pay but just don't wanna pay something which still has 1 month plus before due date. Your payment due date for the transaction is on 14 August. This is what i love about credit cards, can earn 1 month plus interest before paying for the transaction I always over pay my credit card because of the cashback.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jul 8 2011, 10:29 AM) The Cashback from Maybankard2 is confirmed to be payment to your CC. Next time, pay your CC after 2nd of every month (to ensure the rebate has been taken into consideration) I pay after 2nd of every month. But just that I always pay according to my statement amount QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jul 8 2011, 02:12 PM) Can be on the next day too. My mom received an sms from Maybank last night that her application for MBB2 is approved. And guess what ? Poslaju came about an hour ago Anyway, this means we can save more money from now on However, there is one bad news. The credit limit assigned to my mom is shocking. I mean shockingly low! She was a Maybankard holder 3 years ago and her credit limit then was higher. I helped her to apply using her salary slips and her salary is actually higher than it was 3 years ago. She is not subject to the 2 credit card issuers ruling, by the way. How much is shockingly low? Mine they give about 1.5X my salary only.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jul 14 2011, 10:06 AM) Yes.... should be still on. There's already >200,000 Maybankard2 issued.... potentially each month Maybank needs to cough out >RM10,000,000 worth of Cash Rebate. It also means the potential of a massive amount of merchant fees collection and interests they are going get from the card member.

Went to Starbucks in Taipan, the barista did not say anything about the promo ending or anything like that. The person queuing in front of me, swipe at least 3 separate times to get 3 free drinks.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jul 28 2011, 01:38 PM) Sooka Sentral's Starbucks confirms the Buy 1, Free 1 ends on 31 August 2011. Until they get their CC terminal, just flash your AMEX for the Buy 1 Free 1. 31st August or 31st July?

QUOTE(ronnie @ Aug 1 2011, 07:09 PM) Coffee Bean's Buy 1 Free 1 is a permanent feature of the Citibank Clear Card.... It was very unprofessional of Maybank/AMEX/Starbucks to cancel the promo midway. they should have honor the 31 Oct expiry date. Are you sure it is a feature on the clear card? I don't think so. I think it is a promo only. If it is then I will probably apply one just for the coffee. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1813751But yeah, I agree that it is very unprofessional for them to do so.

I had requested the GST offset last week but till today it had not been credited into the account yet. Didn't manage to get full rebate for this month but RM42.78 is still pretty good I guess Getting more cash back just means I am spending more

QUOTE(andyfriends @ Aug 2 2011, 10:06 AM) Is this the code " GSTP001" to pick for GST redemption? got quite confused as there are many selections online https://www.maybankard.net.my/catalogue_annualfee.phpcheers Yup, others are annual fees. GSTP001 is for primary and GSTP002 is for supplementary.

QUOTE(mustang @ Aug 5 2011, 02:20 PM) A sharing from me. I calculated my M2Kard Amex cash back for the month of July and noticed 1 of the transaction is not counted into the cashback and I called up CS to ask about it. Transaction made on 30th July [Saturday] and the transaction gets posted on 1st Aug [Monday] According to the CS, he says is based on transaction date but since the merchant only claim from the bank on 1st Aug, that is the reason the cash back is not counted. And the cashback for this transaction will only be credited into my account in the month of Aug. I am wondering is this possible? Shall look at my account next month whether it will be calculated or not. Hmm, I swiped for a cuppa of Starbucks around 11 pm on 31st July and the rebate is in on the 1st. However my posting date was 31st as well. So that might explain why.

QUOTE(David83 @ Aug 7 2011, 02:18 PM) Minimum payment is 5% of the outstanding amount or RM 25 min whichever higher. Late payment is 1% of the minimum payment amount or RM 5 min whichever higher. Minimum payment is 5% of the outstanding amount or RM 50 min whichever higher. Late payment is 1% of the minimum payment amount or RM 5 min or RM 50 max. I think is like this.

For #1, you are right. Just checked my statement. RM 25. However, OCBC and PBB min payment is RM 50 or 5% whichever higher. I thought it was a standard practice across the banks. As for #2, Late Payment1.00% of total balance outstanding as at statement date or a minimum of RM5, whichever is higher (Maximum: RM50)

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Aug 10 2011, 02:59 PM) Hmm, the rebates for transactions made on the last day of the month (weekend) will be given next month, unless the merchant post it on the same day. I think the Maybank CS replied my email was trying to say that if the posting date is on the same day, the cash back will be carried forward to the next month. However, if the posting date is a day or two after the transaction date (in my case which was on Monday and Tuesday respectively), i get nothing! If the transaction is done on 30th and 31st July, and the posting date is 30th and 31st as well, the rebate will be in for the 1st August rebate. If the transaction is done on 30th and 31st July, but the posting date is after the 1st Aug, the rebate for that will go into 1st September. Reason because they wont be able to give the rebate if the merchant had not post the transaction into the system. The rebate is still be given, just the different month only. It maybe slightly unfair for those who usually max out their rebate but this is how it works. This post has been edited by tifosi: Aug 10 2011, 03:20 PM

QUOTE(weihong @ Aug 14 2011, 05:30 PM) For oversea transaction, let say Singapore. it also more worthwhile to swipe m2c Amex despite the oversea charges 2.5% imposed on weekend right.. take into consideration 5x reward point + 5%, if compare to local credit card (sg) which the most offer 5% cash rebate with min sgd3k swipe (Standard Chartered Manhattan). Yes, I was in SG a couple of weeks back and at that time, the exchange rate was 2.46 (Money changer). I swiped my AMEX and was charged around 2.52 but after the 5% rebate counted in, it was roughly around 2.39. So, yes, it is still cheaper with the 5% discount on weekend.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 17 2011, 08:07 PM) LOL, so funny, hahaha. But then again maybe not, that's how the US government thinks (operates) too. If credit card works that way, I think credit card debt no longer stands at 30 billion. More like 300 bil or 3 trillion
