currently i'm using the old maybank amex gold cc and a citibank mastercard. shall i cancel the maybank amex gold and citibank mastercard and apply for the maybank 2 card instead? this will save me the service tax.

but i'm just worry about that if all my cards are from maybank and if maybank's system is down, does it means that i'm not able to use both the cards? this is important as i sometimes use it to pay hotel and food overseas.

thanks

Keep the Citibank MC but get a Maybank2 gold Amex + Visa. The features of the Maybank2 Gold Amex is a lot better than the Amex Gold CC (except MR points convertible to cash).

Apply the cards first (faster since you are an existing Maybank customer) then only cancel the Amex Gold CC. In the end you will have 3 cards, access to all Visa, MC and Amex promotions, tand only pay GST for 2 cards.

hi, what does this means?
2. The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.

is it mean that i need to pay the full amount first, then next month, they only credit the rebate amount back to my account?
*
i.e. Rebate for May 1 - May 30 will be paid arnd Jun 1 - 2. Whether you need to pay the full amount first depends on your statement date

In addition, as for the Paypal amount for verification, you won't usually get back exactly the same amount due to currency fluctuation and transaction fees.
*

paypal verification can be made in msia currency, i.e.RM10
*
Not for Amex

I got no idea Bro, it was you who mentioned it. But I can confirm MBB Plat yes because I just used it last month at SG ( which was damn stupid of me because I forgot my UOB give me 5X in SG). Maybe zenquix or Miles can confirm if MBB 2 also earn 2X for overseas.
*
Since I have the MBB Plat Visa, left my MBB2 Plat Visa at home (never carry it and MBB dont allow conversion) so cannot try... Confirm MBB Plat Visa (and MC) is x2 points overseas. MBB2 i recall is only x1 points for everything including petrol. Maybe time to shoot them an email?

If it is true, time to cancel.

Just FYI la...

Went to singapore on the weekend. signed for 2 transaction

One using Amex

13-Jun-2011  10-Jun-2011  xxxx S$360.00  RM908.58  exchange rate = $2.5238

Then one using Mastercard (cuz they had 15% off for Mastercard, that's why use this instead of Amex)

14-Jun-2011  11-Jun-2011  HRC SENTOSA SINGAPORE SG  S$164.15  RM405.74    exchange rate = $2.4717

On the same weekend did a transfer of $ to a US Paypal account. Paypal - Paypal (charge to Amex)

14-Jun-2011  13-Jun-2011  PAYPAL USA US  US$206.15  RM639.71  exchange rate = $3.1031
Money changer exchange rate is S$ = $2.462 and USD = $3.025 Wawasan

Bank charges are usually abit higher.

Also... Mastercard gives a better exchange rate. could that be the 2.5%?
*
is this the MBB2 cards? did you get 2x treatpoints for the Mastercard or only 1x for the above transaction?

Has anyone receive a "invitation" from Golden Horse Health Sanctuary for a complimentary health screening and health management preview ?

it says that MBB card holder will also get a free buffet dinner and one night stay at the hotel..sounds too good to be true unsure.gif
*
got it. Yeah the dinner and stay is real but you have to go thru the 'preview' of their packages first. dinner is a voucher for saturdays night o nly. One night stay is for Sun-Thurs only valid for 2 months.

Hey guys. I just got my Maybank2cards today. Went to collect the card with another friend who also had his application approved.

We compared the 4 digits 'CVC' printed on the front of our AMEX cards; they're the same. On both our cards. It's 974x just like Maybank's illustration of the card.user posted image

We also noticed there're 3 digits at the back of the card that's not part of the card number embossed on the front. You know, at the position where Visa/Mastercard's CVC is printed. The bank staff told us that the 3 digits at the back are the CVC, not the one in front.

Confused now.
*
Amex is using the front 4. Sadly I confirm that the number for most if not all MBB2 Plat cards from MBB share the same number 974x based on my comparison. It is as if it is a batch printing number

Hi everyone, can I use the credit card to perform monthly repayment for loan? Let say for car loan repayment. What about treatpoints? Are we still earning points for this type of transaction?
*
No you cannot.

using maybank 2 amex for my hotels for work, but i usually check out on fridays so i don't get the weekend rebates.

is it possible to get the hotel to swipe the card on a saturday and then check-in again to continue staying so i can get the rebate?

also,it's capped at rm50 so there's no point swiping every weekend right? since 1 week's worth of hotel>1k already.
*
pay a prepaid rate on the weekend

I think I have the answer already, I hardly swipe my cards because I hardly buy stuffs. blush.gif
To earn back 10k seems difficult for me, I will pay then. hmm.gif
Never mind, I still can consider till mid of next month. laugh.gif
*
Nothing to redeem @ 10k also. TP is evergreen. Can accumulate slowly. But if you don't use it is just a number right?

2.Seperate acc, almost the same except you will see yr limit and spendings, and the total usage will be showed clearly. Good thing about this type is you will be able to clear out the balance and reuse the Credit Limit Despite it has not reached the statement date yet. BUT it will not Refresh your account nor Clear off yr Credit Limits automatically even thou you didn't pay a sen after statement date.
*
This is normal for all cards. You don't get back your credit if you don't make payment. The credit assigned to you will just get lower and lower. The statement date till due date only gives you extra 20 days of interest free for that portion but if you need to make use of the credit, you must pay.

50k, 60k, 30k. Last 3 months. Pay on behalf of company
m2u system cannot accept "over" payment. ie: cannot pay more than you have due
