My spending pattern was about RM300-500 a month on my previous Maybank Gold Card.

But last month did a transaction of around RM3500 on AA purchase, I was expecting some call from Maybank side to verify the purchase.

Yet, it was just accepted in an instant. Shouldn't they can verify someone spending pattern and if suddenly exceed it, just give a call for veriification?

Want to ask how they determine that statement date? Is it from 1st purchase - 1 month after that or fix at the same date or from the date my application approve?

Can anyone here kindly advice? As I prefer my statement due date is on the 1st week of every month (after pay day)

I received a newsletter from Maybank, it was posted back to my hometown talking about free Starbucks voucher.

It was due to my low usage on my cards, so they are giving me free. laugh.gif
*
Wah, if your usage consider low, think mine even worse tongue.gif

I guess no standardization in their procedure then. Some mention can cancel through phone, some say need go card center.

what i did is photocopy the card and then cut the photocopy laugh.gif
after that fax the cancellation letter with the photocopy
*
that's a good trick. I am going to cancel my Visa Petronas too and the CS told me the same thing : go card center to cancel or fax them a copy of the cut card.

As the Visa Petronas is my first CC, it do have sentimental value tongue.gif heart pain if cut it either myself or card center employee.

But personally would prefer to go card center for cancellation as i think will be faster processing (along can request to cancel the CC acc from M2U and transfer the TP). But surely they'll cut the card there and then right?

Any item at treatsfair that just use the card to buy stuff and not use TP instead as I have not enough TP to spend but just want to check out any good deal / promotion when purchase with Maybank CC?

I encountered a problem with this AMEX buy 1 free 1 promotion at a Starbucks outlet in my place last night. I tried to buy a Mocha Ice-blended Frappucino and was told that it is not eligible for the AMEX buy 1 free 1 promotion as the promotion is only applicable for regular coffee and tea drinks only. I did querry them and told them how come it was possible last time. She told me that they received an email from Maybank just very recently that it's only for regular coffee and tea. Anyone faced the same problem ?
*

How recent is recent? My last starbucks was on last Friday and buy 1 free 1 still valid. Maybe I'll try it tonight since 1 week didn't take any.

Before this promo, the number that I went to Starbucks can be counted with 1 hand, but after having the card, 1 week at least once doh.gif

Which starbucks you went to?

Just last night. I did go to this same Starbucks outlet about 2 week ago and did not face any problem. They said they received an email from Maybank that it's only for regular coffee and tea only  doh.gif  rclxub.gif
It does reflect immediately. The outstanding balance is reduced once the payment is successful. I just did it around 1am just now  smile.gif
Yeah. I also doubt what they said were true. Anyway, i already emailed Maybank customer service and hopefully i'll get a reply from them soon. I got another drink date coming up next week at the same Starbucks outlet.
*
But their picture showing the buy 1 free 1 is using a Caramel Macchiato as picture. That one is not regular coffee also. Maybe can argue that point

The promotion is still on until October but M&M's question was on the selected types of beverages. smile.gif
I'm not sure what's happening in the KK's outlet but somehow other outlets have no issues with any type of beverages.
Too bad I can't try later because I can't finish 2 cups of drinks. laugh.gif

2 cups, one for now, the other one at night (if work overnight) or next day morning for the caffeine boost tongue.gif

Think of it as one time fee only as subsequently it can be waive through redemption of points / min swipes per year.

If I were to use the 10K TP to waive for GST just give the CC a call?

Same to mine, but still the Visa Petronas is in my M2U. Have to go any branch to request for them to remove it.

Just called the CS to use my 10k TP to offset my VISA GST. It takes about 7-10 days to be reflected. Hopefully it works, else I'll pay first.

Is that OK if I were to leave my terminated Master Card in Maybank2U? I have advised them to remove it from the list, despite numerous reminders, it is still there...

But they have confirmed the card is no longer usable. In fact I have already destroyed the card. sweat.gif

Can do it Maybank branch or CC centre, much faster that way. But even i called the CS, they also refer me to proceed there

I received the SERVICE TAX - PRINCIPAL  RM50.00 on the 3rd month statement (Just started using for 2 months +). Anyone successfully asked for the GST waiver? If yes, may I know how?
*
Unfortunately you can't, I assuming it was charged to your Master card? If you have above 10000 points, you can use that 10,000 pts to waive your GST though

Yes, it is charged to my MasterCard. Just started using 2 months+ so havent accummulate enough pts for GST redemption =(

Guess you have to pay then. Think of it this way, you can earn back the RM50 if you swipe your Amex during weekend. In the end there's still profit (provided you use it accordingly)
