QUOTE(Gilthoniel @ Jun 13 2011, 05:32 PM)
ok I called Amex hotline. there's a charge of 2.5% no matter what as long as it's not RM.

I want to link my Paypal to my Amex since I can pay for GSC via paypal, and earn 5x points... since that trasaction is in RM, there will be no charge right?

Another thing, the girl on MBB hotline told me that my MBB2 mastercard platinum is eligible for 2x TP for overseas transaction but I've seen some taikors here post that its only 1x... what gives?

funny how all these customer service people have different ideas and knowledge

Is this practice for the current Maybankard2 AMEX ?
*
Yes, i always deduct out the cash back from my statement balance
for M2 Amex and M2 Visa (during GST redemption), and also my JustOne

A response from Maybankard FB page
"Hi, Ronnie, the amount to pay in the scenario you mentioned should be RM2k, if the rebate appears in the same statement. However, to be doubly sure, at the top of your statement you will see, "Current Balance" -- that's the amount that you need to pay if you want to clear the outstanding balance in full."

This means I need to pay RM2050 before 15 July 2011
*
my statement date is 28 jun and due date is 18 Jul
in ur case, i pay only RM2k and never hit with interest

Is the above what you did and MBB didn't charge interest.
*
yes, very easy to find out why I'm so sure
noticed ur min payment when the statement came out, RM2050 x 5% = RM102.50
noticed ur min payment again on 2nd of the next month, RM102.50 - RM50 = RM52.50

comclusion, the RM50 cash back has been used to pay ur cc

That doesn't necessary mean RM50 is used to pay the previous month's statement balance.
It shows that the RM50 deducts on the next month statement only.
Even if I paid RM2050, you get RM50 deduct in the next month statement also.

Either way I will test their system and report back. I'll pay RM2000 and check if they charge me interest on the remaining RM50 (so-called outstanding balance)
*
minimum payment is the amount you'll need to pay at least b4 due date, if the minimum payment amount has reduced, means the cash back has been used to settle your payment, right

I wanted to ask if the cash-back is given after the cut-off Statement Date can be use as payment for the previous Statement.
Definitely you can credit back the RM50 on your current Statement.
*
i understood what u are asking, the answer is YES
i was trying to point out that the minimum payment amount is in fact from previous statement
my card example:

Card type: Maybankard 2 Amex Platinum
Cardholder name: XXXX
Total credit limit: RM15,000.00
Last payment amount: RM1,275.12
Last payment date: 16 June 2011
Minimum payment amount: RM93.40 Pay Now <<----- you'll notice this amount will be reduced come 2 july (after cut-off statement date)
Outstanding balance: RM1,867.96 Pay Any Amount Now
Statement balance: RM1,867.96 Pay Now
Payment due date: 18 July 2011
Statement date: 28 June 2011
Current TreatsPoints: 12845

That's interesting. I will check mine as well. But the Statement Balance don't reduce ?

BUT I have a bigger issue that my Statement 26th June 2011, is not generated on M2U nor e-statement
*
statement balance is forever fixed after that statement cycle
the min amount u need to pay will reduced as it has been offset by the incoming cash back

normally the estatement will be ready two days after statement date, so u might want to chk with CS

Already asked Maybank, they said if the transaction is made, means no problem.

I also checked with CPP, they said Maybank is one of their business partner.

I also be informed that the transaction will be made in 7 working days, and my record will be updated in 3 working days.

Below is the card protection company website,

www.cppasia.com.my

I definitely will cancel this service by next year.  mad.gif
*
call them up and cancel NOW
from their website:
Can I cancel my membership anytime?

When you first purchase the Membership, you have a 14 days grace period where you can cancel the Membership and receive a refund if no claims have been made. After this period, no refunds will be made.

If you are an existing MBB CC user, validity is based on your existing card(s). My MBB cards are all in January month since my first MBB card despite my subsequent cards not being issued in January.
*
they will follow the month
but for the year rclxub.gif

LOL! Don't think it actually warrants a call to MBB hotline. Precisely why i asked it here. Like a casual talk something like that. Not exactly very important. Just wanted to give it a try here. May be some of you may know  biggrin.gif
No sure. Yeah. This is my very first credit card from Maybank.
*
yup, don't really care
since a new card will be sent out b4 expiry anyway

they can issue new card in 1 hour in 1u card centre. i am sure they can do the same in MV.
*
believe me, they can't handle the volume in MV
only the first hundreds or so per day might stand a chance for one hour approval
