Hey,
Has anyone having bad battery drain past 2-3 days? I just lost 10% of battery while in airplane mode. I checked battery usage detail, and the phone has been awake constantly, and I can't even use wakelock detector because the permissions changed in 4.4. Google play services seems to be the culprit as I see the time awake matches the time since I disconnected from the charger and it's taking up a much larger portion of the battery usage than usual. |

Purple tint is definitely a let down, I'm blessed with a unit without the problem. This camera might not produce the best picture that packs lotsa punch but hey its a smartphone camera. CHEKCLIST: 1. decent camera for social platform sharing. YES 2. fast application loading, fast shutter. YES 3. responsive white balance. YES 4. good lowlight performance. YES 5. average file size less than 2 MB,space saving. YES. 6. Impressive minimum focal distance for macro. YES anyone else? I would rather take this phone than 1020 that lags secs for every pictures taken>< |

Anyone gets their HTC one battery temp rise above 47 celcius? I open up trickster mod and check the battery temp and it was 47 celcius and stated overheat. Is that normal. I'm posting this at 12.50pm noon time. The sun is hot

Well let me said something about this phone, frankly speaking, I was buying this phone AFTER I know that there is a purple tint problem but yet I just can't resist HTC phones from the past especially this gorgeous One. One definitely a big turn point for HTC as this phone even won apple & samsung flagship all the way in getting the 2013 best phone award. But just don't know what happen in this device's camera, even I, was aware during purchase, check & re-check before I pay but the issue still arise after the software upgrade. Some say it is hardware & some say it is software problem, to me I would say it is due to both. As some users really didn't face any camera problem before the updates. After the purple tint & their customer services quite some numbers of people said that this phone is sux but let is be fair, if this phone is sux it won't get that kind of best phone award & it won't be still sale-able after the well known issue. No doubt that this is a gorgeous phone but HTC just have only 1 thing to improve - their after sales service. I don't think people will mind the purple tint problem if their after sales service is good, provide a fast & good repair services to all the users, this is a very basic responsibility against their users. Honestly apart from the pink dots that arise in night-shot picture, I really love this phone very much, in term of design & its features. I'm really proud to say that this phone is really NEVER lag & having a very fast performance. Wish that the next M8 will be a problem-free phone & they will offer a trade in scheme for M7 users & most important, their after sales services. If they still didn't improve, I guess HTC brand will loss its value in a very near future, no longer quietly brilliant. |

Forgot to update my htc one camera part info. My device camera come with date dec 2013.
Still remember some brother here say their camera part date only show 000000. But mine got show actual date. Neither purple tinted nor pink spot found. |

Please read my old post in this thread, I did share how to read the manufacturer info from device serial number. Keep in mind that October onward manufactured no purple tinted issue. Since u buy from directd, request serial number before payment. Then u will know yr device got camera issue or not |

guys, need help on this issue
I've done a full backup via dropbox this morning and later on factory reset. once factory reset is done. saw 4.4 upgrade and upgrade. later, click restore and it's not working (maybe issue with 4.3 and 4.4).. any suggestion? PROUD HTC One owner |

Never lag? hmm I think mine lags due to Swype at times slows down the phone. The occurrence so much less in beta and it was free!! Paid for mine. Htc phone quality not bad, but this round camera issue and poor after sales service bring nightmare to many user.
In Taiwan, when consumer claim warranty, htc will immediately replace with new set or refurbished unit. Then their technician got time to repair it and consumer still feel satisfy as within 3 days get their phone back. In malaysia, the technician group work hard to repair one by one. If confirm fail to do so, just replace by refurbished unit. This round htc one camera issue make a lot device sent back for repair, so all take turn waiting for three weeks above. Htc can make consumer happy if they can do like htc Taiwan practice, return to consumer within 3 working days. I did left this group and but moto g, it's a nice phone. Would like to recommend those want left htc one to consider moto g. It's got two sim slot, quod core snapdragon 1.2 , 2g ram n 16 g storage, price at lazada is around 700 only. |

If any of you have the wifi issue after upgrading to 4.4.2, i recommend you to lodge a complaint through HTC Malaysia FB compliant form.
Got a call from them just now, they are compiling all the complaints regarding the wifi. So i guess a softer approach works eh. Instead of effing here. Oh well. |

If the leaked picture of M8 is true, frankly speaking it is really ugly especially the camera on top. Htc One still owning the best design among all the phones, at least for me.
Last time my phone used to be perfect but after 4.3 update (I only updated to 4.3 before a week of 4.4 released) the camera suddenly pop out purple & pink hue during low-light condition, & it doesn't fixed after the 4.4 update. LOL. Feel like want to send in my phone for repair but just no courage to do so. |

After the last exchange to new phone, every thing seems fine but just the phone get heated up when I play game or watch movie thru the phone. So is it normal or anyone else facing the same issue ?

Got replacements. Refurbished phones manufactured in May 2013. OV sensor. Gap issue etc still got. Fail. They claim not refurbished.

Should I send to change the camera module or not ? Because I've been thru hell for 5 months with HTC. My original was HTC silver but in the last replacement they silver nneed to wait for stock but they only have black so I decided to take black but black do solve the problem gap.

And this phone is rooted, how can I unroot it so i can send for warranty? (I have studied on first page, only teach how to root but dont have unroot method) Thanks. |

And suddenly i can connect to my WIFI again, after not using it for days. Didnt do any settings change, just automatically work again. Will test more and update all of you.
UPDATE: As scrub posted before this, apparently the change of wifi direct name works. I on and off wifi at first and cant seem to connect, but when i change the wifi direct name, the wifi is connected. Just give it a try. This post has been edited by crazeed: Feb 21 2014, 02:48 AM |

Purple tint is gone. But this weird green tint is now present. But it only happens when the camera auto-focuses. . Odd.

Yesterday, my phone just suddenly turned off by itself.. I can't turn it back on even after a few try, and only after i charged my phone, the screen turns on showing the battery percentage.. Today it happened again and i have to plug my charger to turn it back on after several times trying to turn it on normally..
My battery is not low btw.. Anyone experiencing this before? Or solved it maybe? It's really frustating.. |

Hmm......it seems my phone have some battery percent bug..........
AFter charging to 100& it quickly drop to 98% and then 10 minutes later 80%......but it mantain at 80 even when I heavily use my phone ( wi-fi, playing game, watching video )......... Try calibrating battery ( let my battery completely dead to 0% and then fully charge to 100%) but not working.............don`t know if my calibrating method is wrong........ HTC One has great speakers when playing movies or mp3 music. But when I receive calls and turn on the speaker, the sound is quite bad. The sound in the speaker for voice calls sounds like mono and not very clear. Do your HTC One suffer from bad speaker sound for voice calls too? Anyone know how to make voice calls to use both speakers and boomsound when activating speakerphone?

When i select zoe in low light the camera preview suddenly becomes dark, when deselect zoe goes back to normal performance in low light. Anyone experiencing same issues?

so i know why there is purple tint on camera already... it is
OVERHEAT. and affect on lens during 4.3 (maybe 4.2) era...that explain why early batch all got purple tint and why early photos of mine dont have that.... duh... and i also hear my another colleague sent his HTC ONE X to warranty and get back is anohter recon unit....not sure is true or not. |

After looking at M8 thanks to that poor kid, I feel like apart from the camera issues there's nothing much to lose. Design wise ours is still way better IMHO. Even the sound quality is subpar vs One. But that could be due to no EQ setting.

In fact it's smoother. Kitkat uses less resources than jelly bean. For your iPhone, it could be that iOS7 has higher system requirements than iOS6. |

i think is same, and the purple tint i think is 4.3 make one due to overheat camera module =3=
anyway today sent my phone to courier for warranty....hopefully can fix that and not getting another problem. |

Hi guys, i'm planning to get a used HTC One. I found 2 in garage sales, 1 is replacement set but warranty until May 2014 only, while the other 1 is used for 4 months already and warranty got 8 months left, both price are similar. Which 1 should i get?

I'd like to ask. I've been using my HTC One for quite awhile now and the common problem which is the purple tint has been there for a long time now. I finally can't tolerate it anymore so I wanna send it in for warranty. Plus, my battery life is very unstable. I can plug it in at 100% and remove it, then it'll decrease to 90-ish percent in a minute or two.
What I'm concerned with is, will they use the "it has been in contact with water" reason with me? Not that my phone has dropped in water or anything before, I'm just not sure if a few drops of water might have hit the water receptor strips internal of the phone. |

It's been a month i send my HTC One to fix my camera issue and I did add on one more the WIFI issue (couldn't connect to home WIFI) after updated to 4.4 kitkat. Today I received back my phone, the phone camera was fixed (the purple tint is gone, well....its first day, will try out for several days after fixed) but in the report, it stated the WIFI issues has no fault/error found.
And so, after I back to home I connect to my home WIFI and........TADA~! still couldn't connect to my home WIFI lol |

Just sent mine for warranty claim for the 2nd time via UPS courier. First was due to dead pixel & build quality problems (June 2013). Now it's purple tint. Hopefully my One will come back within a week's time.

Anyone faced problem like taking picture yellowish instead of purple. I've sent to sc for purple and now yellow turns == sometime yellow sometime okay... So bothering me..

I waited 3 weeks for the first time... then brought it in the next day as I did not checked on the camera... my mistake and it got a very bad purple tint... brought it back the next day itself and now already 1week+... so in total, I've waited 1 month+ d and still waiting... and yes, there goes my 1month warranty wasted!

Hi guys, this is a vendor related question. 2 weeks into usage just found out my unit has the infamous purple tint issue. Software is 4.4.2. I have went to and called HTC CS but they asked me to refer to the shop instead.
I bought it from di*ec*d and have phoned their hotline stating that i got a unit with known issue and if it is possible for replacement. Got a generic answer. Wanted to check with users if anyone had experience replacing a unit with di*ec*d. |

Mine didn't have the purple tint problem until I sent in mine for repair and got back with purple tint :SAnyway, I dont think directd is handling warranty claim (or repair service) unless it's AP set. So go to HTC service centre. Today, after 10 months of bearing the god damn purple tint and with another new thing - burn spot in the centre of screen when use the back camera lens, I called HTC call centre again and a pick up will come tomorrow. Dear all,
Thanks for the feedback. I went to directd today. Lady at the counter said they will eventually send it back to HTC, so it's the same. That means the HTC agent at the service center was bullshitting me during my first trip. I went back to the SC again today and was gonna throw a fit but surprisingly they took it. Don't ask me how this happened I don't know and yes I officially hate my cousin now for doing this to my htc one. -My HTC ONE now has no OS installed. -Internal storage wiped. No custom roms available for flashing. -USB Debugging not working so adb push isn't working (yes I tried). -S-ON -H-BOOT 1.56 -RADIO 4A.23.3263.28 - TWRP working - FASTBOOT working The latest RUU I cant find it online. S-OFF is unachievable. What can I do to revive my phone OMG. |

just played around the camera settings.
setting the exposure to +0.5 seems to offset the green tint problem.. any users here willing to try and let me know if it works |
