If it's not too late to mention, congratulations to @DarReNz as the new TS for CIMB Bank Credit Cards V6.

For everyone to know, there was a bit of anxiety and excitement as this is a crucial thread for many and a new TS took longer than expected to come by. Thus briefly explained the mixed up and we all quickly sorted ourself up when the new appointment was done. (We're humans after all) Never mind all that as what's more important is that a new TS is here.

DarReNz would be bind to the same TS rules applied as per his other appointment in PBB card section. He's already holding 2 threads as of current thus we'll open opportunities for others allowing him to focus on the roles on hand.

Do check the T&C/announcement section for TS search and news from time to time. Sorry this thread took longer to renew than it should. Thanks for your support folks!

Sorry to ask some stupid question.
I'm wondering how to use this TAC on mobile.
I have repeated the process many times but failed to get the TAC that I wanted.
I have to resolve to TAC on SMS.

Thanks for the info, I think I saw it somewhere, if apply for Petronas card, we can get Petrol Rebate up to RM100++? I forgot where I saw it, do you have any idea? rclxms.gif

Also, if we get the Lazada voucher and use it at Lazada Online, if there is extra amount needed, can I use any other bank CC to pay the remaining amount? Or must use CIMB CC also?

Thanks.

May I know from which link you applied? And any reasons given for the rejected CC Application? Is it due to the annual income? Or something else?
Thanks. rclxms.gif

May I know from which link you applied? And any reasons given for the rejected CC Application? Is it due to the annual income? Or something else?
Thanks. rclxms.gif

Thank you for your interest in applying for a CIMB Bank Credit Card. We regret to inform that we are unable to accommodate your application at the moment. You may still enjoy a range of CIMB Bank Credit privileges by signing up for a Kwik/Prepaid Mastercard Account.

Yes, I heard from CIMB Staff, both are different.

One is CIMB Clicks and another one is http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/index.html

Also heard that, both are given out different Voucher, CIMB Clicks give RM200 (Need to spend RM1000) whereas CIMB Bank Website give RM150 (Spend RM500), wonder if anyone get Voucher before, not sure if this is true or the staff just simply give the wrong info to me.

Not only that, they said if you have Kwik Card, you can't apply for CIMB Lazada Card (They said this one not launch yet)???

So, I don't know if you have Kwik Card, is this will affect your application for other type of Credit Card too??

Also, my doubt is, the Voucher from Lazada is given by RM150 or separate like RM50 x 3 Pcs? As if it's separated, I believe that you can't use RM150 on one transaction, you have to purchase 3 separate items...Some other bank will give full amount instead of separate amount of Voucher.

Anyone here got offer for applying Petronas Card to get RM200 Petronas Voucher before??

Hope someone who got apply and received some Voucher can clarify us on this. rclxms.gif

Thanks.

But if this CIMB Lazada card is real and if it offers some discounts, then LZD will be cheaper. tongue.gif

Anyone had this situation with CIMB CR before? I purchased a phone on lazada (max out the RM30 cashback for online), and now am returning the phone as it's defective.

I assume the cashback will be withdrawn, but if I repurchase similar price phone (in the same billing month) will I still get the cashback for that new purchase?

I know Maybank got like 20 days (?) notice prior to changes announcement to be effective. Hence last time there was changes in TP (or was it 5% weekend rebate) they postpone the changes to meet the 20 days notice.

Is this procedure only by Maybank or set by BNM? If set by BNM, can actually cc BNM to demand the new rule to only effective 20 days upon date of announcement.

ADDED : Oops just saw the letter dated 12 Mac, guess can't argue if so.

just want to ask.

How do I know when to pay my balance on my credit card. let say I made a transaction on 1, 13, 15, 16th of the month. will cimb accumulate all transactions so that I will have a total amount due at end of month (28th), or I need to pay right after the transaction was made?

Thanks. I'm new to credit card

highlighted BLUE. that's the whole point of having monthly statement, similar to mobile postpaid bill: use first, then pay the bill later.

above screenshot: refer to your statement and observe the key info in page 1.

here's a simple illustration on the spending period, bill date, and payment due date. below example is based on bill date 24th, but CIMB CR's is mostly on 28th.

Oh crap. Just saw the revision. doh.gif Luckily this month I paid PTPTN with my AmEx. So I will really appreciate if anyone who has used for this month can report back by end of the month.

Dilemma. I want to know but I'm worried if I call them, it will trigger the unnecessary...

Not sure of the MCC code, these assessments bills are listed on page 1 as entitled for cash back. Have made payment previously and confirmed got cash back. Not sure what is the impact following the change though

No interest will be charged unless you don't pay on time or not full payment.

Significant difference is you use now and pay later.

Hi guys, where do you check your credit card statement?

I checked under 'E-Statement' for the month of March 2017 & April 2017 but it stated no statement available yet. Also, just found out that my credit card due date is 16th April, means its way passed the due date.

Without a statement, how am i supposed to pay my credit card bill? Just opted for the email statement btw

you sure your payment due date = 16 Apr? that translates yours bill date = 27 Mar.

majority of us are on 28 Mar bill date, which is 17 Apr payment due date.

April 2017 statement definitely not ready because it havent reach yet.

if you subscribed to e-statement earlier, you'll get it in the email. since you just opted it, you wont get it until next statement on 28 Apr.

statement availability usually +3 days after statement date.

for you, you should be able to download March 2017 statement. here's how...

user posted image

whether got statement or not, CIMBclicks lists the transactions out online in the portal. all the details are in there. you dont need the actual statement before making your payment to the card.

in fact, how did you know your payment due date is 16 Apr anyway?

Under credit card, there's an option that shows your current card with balance amount and due date etc.

Safe to say that i'm way over the due date if i make a payment today? mega_shok.gif Usually I'll look through my statement for a final due amount for my credit card before making a payment, same goes with my other cards because the portal's amount is accumulating until the balance is paid in full?

I went through the same option as you, but my statement for March is not appearing / available for me to open at all.

without estatement, still can look thru the detailed transactions in cimbclicks.

no, the portal shows you the exact Statement Balance, and payment due date. just ignore total outstanding balance.

here's mine:

not sure about estatement download, probably you didnt subscribe to estatement earlier, so the pdf estatement is not generated for you. check again later after Apr bill date.

Oh crap. Just saw the revision. doh.gif Luckily this month I paid PTPTN with my AmEx. So I will really appreciate if anyone who has used for this month can report back by end of the month.

Dilemma. I want to know but I'm worried if I call them, it will trigger the unnecessary...
*
I called CIMB CS regarding some matters and also to check regarding PTPTN.

The CS say PTPTN paid at the PTPTN office falls under other retail spend at 0.2% CB. meanwhile PTPTN paid online is 5% under online spending.

I think the revised T&C on government services does not change anything for PTPTN payment and CB

Can anyone enlighten me about CIMB Easy Payment Plan (0%).

How do we do this EPP, is there any form to fill up during purchase, or we need to call bank after making the purchase or the merchant automatically does the EPP and we only need to pay accordingly?

I believe it will be the latter. Ask the participating merchant to convert your swipe into EPP.
Participating merchant needs to have CIMB terminal.

No form is needed to fill up, merchant will just swap the card and option for EPP depend on how many months you want.

Example:
- Buy an item from SenQ, make sure they have provide for EPP for CIMB credit card user
- Mention to them about EPP and how many months (6/12/24/26) you want.
- After swiped, a receipt will be given, you are able to see the amount for the instalment.
- Monthly instalment value will be appear in the statement and just pay accordingly until end of it.

Yes. But can pay online, may still get 5% cash back if they didn't remove it out after some revision.

Mind to share the worst case scenario if I didn't pay it in full?

Example: my outstanding balance is RM1,000 but i only pay RM500

How much the penalty? Per anum or daily?

Thanks

Guys, I have been using CIMB CB since 2015, and through out that period there are several times where I paid less than statement balance and only pay the remaining outstanding. In fact I did that too last month and I was never been charged with finance charges. But today I saw that there is finance charges.

Is there anyone here doing the same thing as I did?

It has been repeated and reminded for few times that CIMB doesn't consider cash back as payment.
Yes, some got off but some didn't. I remember someone mentioned before there's a maximum amount can be offset without charged with financial charges.

Best is to avoid doing it.

Does this mention in their T&C. Cause I find it weird to pay for something that is not being statement-ed yet. Your statement as at 28th is RM600, your cash back is RM30. So your outstanding left is RM570. On 30th your charge for RM50.00, so or course you will pay the remaining outstanding minus the new transaction RM50 right?

1st, cimb did this on purpose by delaying the monthly cb to 29th when the statement being generated. hence statement amount wont inclusive of the monthly cb. this revision was effective July 2015.

user posted image

2nd, cimb's finance charges logic only looks at statement amount, if it's fully paid or not. since they shifted the monthly cb to be posted after statement date, essentially statement amount is still full. also, cb is not treated as a "payment".

heck, i still have -RM30 floating in my CIMB CR card since Dec 2016, cuz i didnt use the card for any other spending laugh.gif

*
So like try to con customers la....coz if like previously, they HAVE to consider as payment since the amount already reduced in statement, when they switched the date then not consider as payment....hhhmm

But in the FAQ stated this ->Attached Image

FAQ is correct.

question is the timing of the cb vs statement amount.

the cb doesn't reduce statement amount which already generated (closed), the cb is for NEXT statement which is due next month.

then this is 1 very weird FAQ....the term "utilized towards payment of the outstanding balances". So IF you are not using your card after the statement produced, so let say you statement balance is RM600, and your outstanding balance also still remain as RM600, doesn't that make the cash rebate as part of the payment? Need to talk to CIMB then, or worse BNM if required

Thanks for the info thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

the max cb u get is not much. don't need to be so worry about it.

you're going to keep using the card anyway. just the cb earned is deferred to next statement.

same like me lor, rm30 cb still floating for few months liao laugh.gif

Not sure this email is reachable or not "cardsmktg@cimb.com"

Hi bros, I am new to the world of CC blush.gif
I tried studying what you guys have posted all this while but still got some doubts:

1) Choosing to pay my house loan as well as insurance by monthly instalment (auto debit) will entitle me for 2 % rebate, right?
2) I usually top up my prepaid at XOX online portal. Is that considered online spend or "Other retail spend"?
3) I started using my cimb CC in April but till now still have not received any e-statement. Is this normal? I expect it will be sent to my email. (I realise I can check my transactions in CIMB clicks though)
4) I found the MCC with four figures following it useless because I never know exactly which shop is listed under each MCC. How do you guys know ah?

That's all my stupid questions. Happy Labour Day smile.gif

1) You cannot repay house loan with credit card. So this is out of scope. Auto debit for insurance premium payment will not entitled for CB. This is under exclusion clause.
2) No idea with XOX. Need others to comment.
3) Statement will be sent to your registered email. So far not yet received. It could be late sometimes.
4. Once swiped, call CS to ask for MCC.

in my case, for retail purchase, they didn't allow it.. reserve for something urgent, they will advice to cash depo toward the account and use it.. otherwise just bring cash,
the irony is, after a month of request, they offer me to increase credit limit.. doh.gif

It's already mentioned in their exclusion list since day 1... Mobile bills payments will not be entitled for 5% cash back.
The most is only 2%: 2% Cash Rebate on Mobile Bill Payments [MCC: 4813, 4814, 5968] via Standing Instruction

Else, 0.2%.

EDIT: and also, merchants i frequently visit accepts amex. no complaint.

sometime not all online purchase got cash rebate.
last time i bought things from Gmarket (is like china taobao but is korea one), when bill come only i noticed it didnt have cashback. so i phone and email to question the. got 2 different person contact me, the first one is through phone, saying that Gmarket didnt update their dont know wat so cimb system cant detect is an online shop so they will refund me the cashback manually. they said i need to call to ask for cash back everytime i purchase from this website.

the second person contact me through email, said he cant do anythings on it, no cash back mean no cash back...so i just email back to scold that person bad customer service.

sometime not all online purchase got cash rebate.
last time i bought things from Gmarket (is like china taobao but is korea one), when bill come only i noticed it didnt have cashback. so i phone and email to question the. got 2 different person contact me, the first one is through phone, saying that Gmarket didnt update their dont know wat so cimb system cant detect is an online shop so they will refund me the cashback manually. they said i need to call to ask for cash back  everytime i purchase from this website.

the second person contact me through email, said he cant do anythings on it, no cash back mean no cash back...so i just email back to scold that person bad customer service.
*
that is the reason why i put gmarket under 0.2%, you can get still get 5% but each time you have to follow up with BNM & CRU as mentioned in post #3 to get the cashback manually doh.gif

No idea why the calculation of the latest cash back is not tally of my usage.

I have attached for the transactions & Cash Back

Based on the 5% rebate of RM3.65, it is based on the transaction that in yellow highlighted.

However, the rest of transactions are still not tally under 0.2% cash back hmm.gif

Set up auto debit (deduction). Free of charge, some merchants even offered rebates for autopay e.g. Celcom 5% discount & Digi 5% rebate for 6 months.

this msg is from bank that an attempt to charge the card from merchant.

since no OTP triggered & received, bank would reject the transaction. then it will update back to Lazada.

go check Lazada Order page. sometimes the order will be canceled/rejected. if so, the amount charged will be forfeited and wont be posted into your card.

depends on your intended results laugh.gif whether to purchase or hope it get canceled smile.gif my purchases so far with lazada, will always trigger OTP.

Yes, I plan to buy. As of now order is still showing in lazada (more than 10 hours). Will just wait for a day or two. Later double purchase more trouble.

I always get otp using this card for lazada & other online transaction. It just this time so I thought something new has been implemented.

I guess cimb failed to trigger otp in this transaction.

Thanks.

Don't know. CS said submitted request but subject to approval.
I think reduce is easier than increase as increase CL requires submitting income proving documents.

it was quite fast for me, about 1-2 working days, checked my cimbclicks later on to see it reduced.

Seriously? Usually people plan to increase their CL instead of decreasing it.

Those who have lots of cards and want to apply more, reducing CL means bank more likely to approve your next card.

In fact I dunno why people so keen to increase CL for cards with capped benefits. 35k CL on a card which basically gives you nothing after the first RM600/1000.... any purpose? If emergency need to pay, normally possible to use multiple credit cards anyway, so I'd rather have that 35k spread over 2-3 cards which can have complementary benefits.

Oh wow.. just noticed CIMB/Eraman promo ended April.

Did they extend this? Cause this 15% is the main reason I hold onto the card...

check the features of the card lo.

if nothing interesting or no use to you, just cancel it. have a little peace of mind with 1 lesser useless card to maintain.

I tried to pay my U Mobile bill through the U Mobile app but after entering the OTP, it returned an error:

Error 502 Bad Gateway

I thought transaction failed hence tried again and the same thing.

Tried on the Web then and it was successful. After few minutes, got sms another transaction is successful (from the App which returned an error)

Call CIMB and they said can't do anything. Need to tell U Mobile to refund to CC.

Now I hate this app so much.

they added webe earlier this year. DarReNz missed this update for post #2.

no idea on others, unless someone else tried SI with them. most likely not eligible since CIMB is very specific on the list.

Do you know you can pay Umobile by prepaid reload at Lazada?
Enter your postpaid number as shipping address phone number, the reload RM100.
This way you can get 5% cb using Cimb cash back, plus can use RM100 - RM15 voucher.

So total is RM85*0.95 = 80.75 for your RM100 bill.

Check Lazada thread to get latest voucher code.

5% CB is from Celcom; not from CIMB.
You need to monitor Celcom bill. It'll be deducted from next bill.

The online part of cimb cash rebate card is always abit annoying with the cross border transaction fee. Got worse when they increase to 1%.

But the 2% grocery is still kinda useful, beats uob one or citi cash back because not subject to specific merchant.

It is still not a bad card as supp card has separate cash back limit.

I have a question about paying using "scheduled payment" for TNB.

If just one time only. Do I get the 2% cash back for utilities?

Meaning is that "Standing Instructions"?

1. So I can only set it up like "auto pay" at TM, meaning need to make the trip to SAJ, TNB, IWK to set it up?

2. Or just do scheduled payment **full invoiced amount using cimbclicks/credit card.

Pardon me, a little too nubs.

this campaign is when you sign up using self service before 31 May and you spend RM500 within 60 days, you get RM150 + Bluetooth Smart Wrist + Octo Plushtoy

if sign up with RTC assist before 31 May and spend RM500 within 60 days, then just get RM100 + Bluetooth Smart Wrist

lastly with inbound assist before 31 May and spend RM500 within 60 days, you only get RM50 + Bluetooth Smart Wrist

however if you apply after 31 May and spend RM500 within 60 days, you no longer get the Bluetooth Smart Wrist but get RM150/100/50

From my understanding, there are 3 types gift (bluetooth watch) which worth rm150, rm100, rm50 respectively.

Gifts entitled based on the channels you apply the credit card.

Something malicious must have happened that caused the Mobile on TAC to be removed.
I have to admit, its pretty useless for those who work in locals. Receiving TAC via SMS is so convenient.
But not for those who work in overseas for months.
So from now on, everytime i need to pay my bills, i gotta insert my malaysian sim card =D

I don't quite understand why they abolish TAC on mobile, it is quite convenient since the TAC can still be obtained if one make a transaction overseas ie cannot be in roaming mode for their handset. The problem is not really TAC on mobile, the problem is the web designer should put TAC on SMS o default for every transaction to be made via cimbclicks as users of TAC on mobile are not widespread.

In my recent transaction for this month, I have been credited RM0.06 (other retail) and all my transaction for the past month were all online (grab/uber/11st) and this RM0.06/0.2%=rm30 which tally to my 11st purchase.

am I being cut short for the rebate? what should I do now, should I email dispute on the matter.

Thanks

I believe the CR side is his payment from CIMBClicks.
He put the description as 11street, GrabCar and Uber.

that one is because I paid from my savings account to the credit card.

I usually pay my credit card right after making purchases.

Up until last month that I know from fellow forumers here that I only need to pay after receive statement on 28th, I stop doing so.

eeeglow24 I have a feeling that the last two Uber transactions don't qualify as online/e-commerce.

What you think? fruitie

Last month, for 11street I also used mobile app.
As by using mobile app, you can get back extra cash back in term of 11street credits.

refer T&Cs

// 10% Cash Rebate on Finance Charges

Assuming the Cardholder’s Cash Rebate Card outstanding balance is not fully settled, the outstanding balance not paid will attract finance charges on a tiered basis in accordance with the CIMB Cardholder Agreement. Cardholder of the Cash Rebate Card will earn 10% Cash Rebate with no maximum amount on such retail finance charges charged and such rebate will be reflected on the billed statement and used only towards payment of the finance charges charged by CIMB. //

Anyone knows if there is 5% CB for AIG Direct Debit for car insurance?

I understand it's performed online once you submit the Direct Debit Authorization form with the credit card details.

Insurance like airline online transaction won't have 5% cash back.

Yes, Grab has cash back now. Just like previously which used to entitle for cash back.
Anyway, it has 1% border charges fees, I still stick to my YOLO and AmEx for Grab.

hi what do you mean by 1% border charges fees, from my GRAB statement, all amount that been charged to my credit card is same as the grab receipt.

let say I took a ride for RM7, it charged my card RM7 too. unlike Uber, what's been charged to my card is different from what appears on my receipt. 1% extra charge appears on my cc statement for Uber. That's why I have stop using my credit card for UBER ride. I'm using my debit card only for Uber starting early this month.

If you look at grab transactions of that screenshot, it is written petaling jaya for grab, so no cross border fee. And grab was previously no cashback, means TS can update to eligible now.

You can search for that cross border transaction thread in this section you will know why. Yes, uber still have it but grab doesn't.

Might not want to be happy about grab and cross border charges yet...

I have about 12 grab transactions in the 2nd half of april (based on uob transaction). Based on transaction date, 13th april, it's grab sg. 14-28th april, it's grab petaling jaya.

28th i have a 3rd transaction, it was grab sg...

wondering what's the pattern now.

Yes, my Zalora transactions with CIMB CR earlier this year were not recorded as online.

HOWEVER, the way to get around this is to pay via Paypal (Zalora got this option) although I think there should be cross-border charges using Paypal.
