Don't know. CS said submitted request but subject to approval.
I think reduce is easier than increase as increase CL requires submitting income proving documents.
*
Seriously? Usually people plan to increase their CL instead of decreasing it.

The lowest cl...even my 1st cc higher than this  dry.gif ...
Below RM5k cry.gif

This is the reason why majority not happy with the CL offer. Despite having high income with less CC on hand, they still given low CL. If the CL being offer is between RM10k to RM30k, then it is good enough, otherwise it is a waste of trip to apply this CC.

Some of us intentionally lower the CL (in fact CIMB CL is one of my higher ones). What's the point to have high CL with a limited-benefits card? RM600 max spending to max out the online cash rebate (my main focus), no free BT offer to utilize any additional CL anyway....
*
In case having emergency, CL able to help us pay in advance rather than taking another CC to pay for the remaining amount.

Hi All,

I just start working for 5 months and planning to get a cc. Annual income around 30k.
I am choosing between CIMB Platinum MasterCard 5% Cash Rebate and UOB One VisaClassic.

Kindly advise. Thank you.
*
You can apply for Debit Card. Better than CC for freshmen.

is this for CIMB only or the rest of the bank also same?
*
The more you delay the payment, the more financial charge imposed to your account. Good luck!

actually if you don't mind the hassle of requesting waiver of finance charge every month you can still do it  sweat.gif
*
The more you practice it, the more chance you get into their warning list. Sooner or later you can say bye bye to your car, house or personal loan applications.

Btw, I kena finance charge 2 times. I called in to waive. The funny point is, sometines i get charged, sometimes I dont. And I always pay outstanding balance for cimb. I called in to waive twice. Haah. Without hassle.

Fyi: ccris should only see late payment. And outstanding balance, but not the fact that I kena finance charge.
*
Anyway, it is up to you to make your way to pay the outstanding payment. For me, I play safe instead of spending my time to call the bank to seek for waiver. CCRIS is subject to bank consideration whether they want to register your name into the list.

Those who not aware of the cash back, bank will proceed as per usual to their client. In fact, it is not much different unless it cost more to purchase the merchandise.

Because credit card is an unsecured debt. If you end up not paying your credit card debt, it's difficult for the bank to get their money back. They can only threaten you with words and legal actions.
Hence, credit card is risky to the bank, so they want to make sure that they only give it to those who have a high chance of paying them back. If you don't have a credit history, they just assume that you are risky and reject your application.

On the other hand, debts like car loan or house loan are secured debts. If you end up not paying your loan, the bank has the right to take away your car or house. The bank can then sell it to get some of the money back. So it's a bit easier to get approved secured loans compared to credit cards.
*
On top of the above, if you able to get approved from bank for properties or car loans, your application for CC is much easier. They will give you better CC compare to normal CC. Perhaps VS and above.

If your payment is not consistent and always got outstanding balance to clear, bank will reconsider the approval of the CC.

Yes. Agreed for this statement. Not only apply for CIMB, but other banks as well.

The -ve amount will use to offset next month statement balance.

I applied online for almost 5 times before I got the approval. I resubmit my application every 2-3 months until one fine day I received the card at my registered address (was not informed of the approval).
*
I apply 1st time and within 1 hour had approved. Better apply via CIMB Card Centre.

THat is why what CIMB is doing is wrong and purely EVIL.  Maybank & PBB are more honest on this matter.

statenebt balance RM600
cash  rebate - RM30
outstanding RM570

why should we pay more when the actual outstanding already less?  THat's what happen when we want to stp using the card, we ended up having positive balance floating inside the card for no reason.  We are not getting the cashback in the end

Let's say you use the card again next month, let's say RM100, after pay the remaining outstanding of RM570, the actual outstanding is RM100.  So how can they charge customer on the RM100 that is not yet statemented?

So for the initial case above finance charge RM29 is according to the unpaid statment balance of RM30??  WHat is the % of finance charge?
*
Whether deduct now or later also did not change much. Unless you only allocate this exact amount to pay the CC.

Each time you pump your petrol, it will hold RM200 pre authorization cost from your CC. This is common practices done by petrol operators. Except Petron where you can set your pre authorization cost.
