I am choosing between CIMB Platinum MasterCard 5% Cash Rebate and UOB One VisaClassic. Kindly advise. Thank you. Nevertheless, no harm trying. |

QUOTE(adamhzm90 @ Aug 4 2017, 10:02 AM) Yes and no.Yes - the bank which lazada worked with to create the merchant account, i.e. Maybank. No - the credit card issuing bank may not be the one who set up the merchant account, in this case, CIMB bank. |

QUOTE(thinkgoodpositive @ Aug 8 2017, 02:30 PM) Hi all, there was one time I use to pay in MYR, which turned out to be cheaper than foreign currency (USD then), but that was via Paypal. If I use the CIMB CB card to book tickets in Klook website, is it best to use other country currency or use MYR currency direct? Any surcharge for our card? thanks. CIMB card imposes 0.8% cross border fee when you pay in ringgit on a foreign credit card processing network. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...hl=cross+border This post has been edited by laymank: Aug 8 2017, 03:17 PM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 8 2017, 03:23 PM) Also, cross border fee is 1% these days for CIMB. I paid USD52.99 on 21Jul, was billed RM239.26I just checked back my statement and noticed I actually made one Lazada purchase on 1st July. Got 0.2%. Time to make a complaint then. Looks like it's around 5.25% surcharge based on the following: https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/g...t-currency.html |

QUOTE(donhue @ Aug 28 2017, 03:26 PM) Cannot remember whether my income (at the time I applied for the CR card) was sufficient for the VI, nor what was the Credit Limit offered (letter already in the dustbin I was offered the same, too. But I called up to reject the offer.I didn't provide them any updated documents or applied for the VI.. They just sent it to me.. |

He is having a problem to apply cc. and that's most likely the reason, he has no record to reference on, banks could not tell if he's reliable in credit repayment or not. Currently he doesnt have any cc or pl. No ccris no ctos but still rejected. Any reason why? |

With the recent launch of MBB FC Barcelona and the revision of CIMB CR, it doesn't seem to have a good reason to hold CIMB CR anymore although it's AF Free.
Does anyone thought of any good use for CR? |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Nov 6 2017, 10:39 AM) have you guys ever check to see if they charge you correctly for overseas transactions? maybe it's the cross border fee?like compare to Mastercard or Visa exchange rate plus the admin fee? https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/g...t-currency.html I tried to compare and its not 1% that I thought CIMB is charging for admin fee, more like 2% |
