Guys, I have been using CIMB CB since 2015, and through out that period there are several times where I paid less than statement balance and only pay the remaining outstanding. In fact I did that too last month and I was never been charged with finance charges. But today I saw that there is finance charges.
Is there anyone here doing the same thing as I did?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 29 2017, 08:40 AM) It has been repeated and reminded for few times that CIMB doesn't consider cash back as payment. Yes, some got off but some didn't. I remember someone mentioned before there's a maximum amount can be offset without charged with financial charges. Best is to avoid doing it. Does this mention in their T&C. Cause I find it weird to pay for something that is not being statement-ed yet. Your statement as at 28th is RM600, your cash back is RM30. So your outstanding left is RM570. On 30th your charge for RM50.00, so or course you will pay the remaining outstanding minus the new transaction RM50 right?

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Apr 29 2017, 10:16 AM) 1st, cimb did this on purpose by delaying the monthly cb to 29th when the statement being generated. hence statement amount wont inclusive of the monthly cb. this revision was effective July 2015. 2nd, cimb's finance charges logic only looks at statement amount, if it's fully paid or not. since they shifted the monthly cb to be posted after statement date, essentially statement amount is still full. also, cb is not treated as a "payment". heck, i still have -RM30 floating in my CIMB CR card since Dec 2016, cuz i didnt use the card for any other spending So like try to con customers la....coz if like previously, they HAVE to consider as payment since the amount already reduced in statement, when they switched the date then not consider as payment....hhhmm But in the FAQ stated this ->

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Apr 29 2017, 12:35 PM) FAQ is correct. question is the timing of the cb vs statement amount. the cb doesn't reduce statement amount which already generated (closed), the cb is for NEXT statement which is due next month. then this is 1 very weird FAQ....the term "utilized towards payment of the outstanding balances". So IF you are not using your card after the statement produced, so let say you statement balance is RM600, and your outstanding balance also still remain as RM600, doesn't that make the cash rebate as part of the payment? Need to talk to CIMB then, or worse BNM if required Thanks for the info

I am shocked to see RM0.67 CB for my lazada transactions in July. My last Lazada transaction that was considered as 5% dated 30th June. While all others only 0.2% and CIMB just want to blame Lazada for this issue. I reported this only to CIMB though

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 30 2017, 03:04 PM) Oops. Then even posted merchant name doesn't determine the eligibility of cash back. I wonder what sort of logic CIMB is using... Luckily I have stopped using it for Lazada and Taobao. as CIMB claimed, Lazada was processing it manually (guess got something to do with the transaction/processing code thingy as mentioned in their T&C). So to them Lazada need to reverse all the transactions and redo it accordingly as previous. such a tedious terms

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 30 2017, 07:22 PM) At least PBB will credit back and not like CIMB, they will blame merchant. Why am I not surprise when it comes to PBB in comparison to CIMB. Those who got cashback credited by PBB should show the proof to CIMB! This is how professional do business!

QUOTE(syazone @ Aug 3 2017, 11:59 AM) whatever the CS said regarding that Lazada due to manual la etc etc, i just insisted that i still want to raised complain/report, in customer point of view, i'm dealing with e-commerce, there is no such thing as Kedai Lazada physically, everything is done online. CS then give me the report number, then few days later, i notice that extra CB hv been credited to my cc account yeap..this what I argued as well...to consumer point it is online..lazada does not have physical outlet

QUOTE(noien @ Aug 4 2017, 11:11 AM) my email to CIMB and BNM Pertaining the above issue, CIMB cash rebate did have cash rebate of 5% for online shopping from Lazada since I started 2016 till date However, for July 2017 statement, there was no cash back from Lazada. From the reply from CIMB as below, they stated that Lazada was not entitle for online cash rebate. So does this mean that Lazada is not entitle for eCommerce or did lazada have any physical shop now? end someone from CIMB call and will request the CC team to credit back my cb. and she said if i did happen to use cimb cr and the same thing happen again. please call her back. in that case I can start tracking my complaint tix number....thank you QUOTE(danielkai @ Aug 4 2017, 11:35 AM) I am able to get cb 5% from lazada purchase via cimb cc after file them a case. I did lodge a report as well.. So has the remaining CB being credited yet??

QUOTE(DarReNz @ Aug 4 2017, 03:21 PM) just sign up with paypal malaysia and add your credit card to it, during lazada checkout select paypal option i would think to avoid this issue just use paypal option as above SInce I do not shop much...CIMB need to compete with my new public bank quantum card...no lazada for CIMB...it's okay....CIMB might still have 2 transactions from 11st from me monthly...or no transaction at all.
