Just to share, Zalora no longer entitled for 5% cash back for online spend. CS confirmed that they're not considered online merchant sad.gif

I thought this has been reported since last year. hmm.gif
DarReNz, you may want to take note of this.

Yes, my Zalora transactions with CIMB CR earlier this year were not recorded as online.

HOWEVER, the way to get around this is to pay via Paypal (Zalora got this option) although I think there should be cross-border charges using Paypal.

just performed my transaction at Taobao. when it's time to do payment, it shows payment using credit card will charge 3% service fee. then i thought not worth it, even though got 5% CIMB cash rebate, but minus 3% taobao service fee, I only left with 2%. Then I remember you guys mentioning sth like cross border fee, got charge 1% again. so eventually I just did online banking oh. have i done a stupid thing? :/

For me, as long as the net return on my CC is higher (even 0.5%) than online banking, I will ALWAYS use CC. With CC you also have the advantage of delaying your payments, which is especially useful if your purchase sum is high.

In your case, 2% is still great. I'd go for it.

ok sure, just wasn't sure if it stacks.

let me try then.

Yes it does.

I help loads of friends buy the tickets os they get the cheaper price, but I pocket the 5%. Haha.

While all this has been happenings, I'm sticking with PayPal to pay for Lazada. Hope that resolves my problem.

Hello everyone,

Do you guys recently  receive another new credit card from CIMB.
Right now I'm using CIMB Petronas Platinum and still using it till now. About 2 weeks ago I receive new card replacement which is CIMB Enrich Platinum.
When I check at my CIMB Click and it seems the new CC link with my CC I'm using today.

Should I activated this card or just ignore it since my recent CC works fine.

You call CS to cancel the card, most probably they will offer you RM30 cash rebate
😆😉😊

Ya, I got the visa infinite sent to me this week, but when I called to cancel they offered RM30. Didn't take up the offer.

I just noticed it was in my supplementary account, I was waiting as well. Totally speechless. doh.gif

What's the best way to complain for CIMB? E-mail callcentre@cimb.com? Or call?

I just did my statement reconciliation and didn't get the 5% cashback for my Lazada spending, even though I used Paypal!

sending an email to customer resolution unit is the most effective, if there's no response after a week then forward to bank negara  nod.gif

Sent my email and will update here.

Still surviving with 23 cards. Due to system glitch which is yet to be fixed, once it's OK, it should be 24th card.

However, coming November i will cut some cards like CIMB and AmBank. Not completely cutting off but keeping only one card for each of these banks and I shall reduce the credit limit to a very minimal amount.
*
I gotta do a culling exercise soon too. CIMB, Ambank and Hong Leong Fortune are first off the list.

I called to cancel today and they offered me RM15 (to keep for 1 year) plus RM15 (if I spend RM200 within a month).

Cheapskate me took the bait and immediately spent RM200. Just hope I really get the RM30!

Called to CIMB and confirmed that based on transaction date. and the limit of CR still RM30.. (if you able to utilized RM600 in these 3 days)

Thanks. Just did my last online transactions on Lazada with these cards.

Called to cancel some of my supplementary cards and got different treatment:

1. First 4 cards (for each card) - I was offered RM15 to keep the card for one more year + RM15 if I spent RM200 within a month.

2. Next 3 cards - terminated immediately, no attempt to retain me.

I've completed the RM200 spending for the first 4 cards. Hope to see my (RM15 x 2 x 4) = RM120 soon!

No - RM15 to keep for 1 year (already credited on the date I called to cancel the cards) + RM15 if I spend RM200 within one month

QUOTE(kart @ Oct 29 2017, 04:49 PM)
For the first RM 15 (for keeping the card for one more year), if the cardholder chooses to cancel CIMB Cash Rebate card anytime between the second month and a year, will CIMB claw back the first RM 15 from the cardholder?
*
I have no idea, but since it has no annual fee, all I'm doing is tracking the date I called to cancel, lock cards in drawer, then cancel after that date. Not an issue.
