1. Can I upgrade from my existing streamyx?
According to official TM response, it is possible to upgrade smoothly as long as the applicant is eligible. However as our experiences tell, it is not always possible.
Situation 1: The streamyx belongs to an eligible student's name. Smooth upgrade is possible. No termination, no quarantine, no downtime. Conclusion: GOOD
Situation 2: The streamyx belongs to dad/mom/bro/sis/whoever who is not eligible. Upgrade may NOT possible.

NOTE : Sometimes it will take a long time to upgrade from same package (i.e 4Mbps Combo to UniPack). You may have to call up TM and bug them up to speed up the case. Do that after a week or so , so that they can process it.

2. What should I do if I fall into "Situation 2"?
Solution 1: Terminate both homeline and streamyx. Reapply both again using an eligible student's name. You will lose your existing phone number but negligible downtime.
Solution 2: Terminate only streamyx and wait for 30 days quarantine. Then, reapply. Estimated downtime: 1-2 month. Existing phone number unchanged.
Solution 3: Subscribe for another set of homeline and streamyx. You will then have 2 homeline.

3. What if the existing streamyx has remaining contract months with TM?
If you fall into "Situation 2", you will have to pay the penalty (remaining subscription fees) to terminate, before you can resubscribe Cool Uni Pack. Your only possible option is to subscribe for an additional set of homeline and streamyx.

4. Does it matter if the existing homeline does not belong to the eligible student?
Not a problem. If the homeline isn't yours, you need to provide photocopied IC and signature of the homeline owner on the application form.

5. Does early subscriber enjoy RM12 reduction of subscription fee?
All subscriber enjoy the new rate from 1st April 2010.

6. What is the Netbook model?UPDATED

Call 1800-88-6998 and press option 2. * Call via fixed Line avoid Telco Charge.

Tell the reception you are from Cool Uni Pack, they will ask for your house number. If order been receive by Hp , you
most probably get a Web order number to track it online.

Again it all boils down to the techie , the TM point. A lot of factors and how you deal with things. For instance some folks were able to subscribe for the RM 10 talk plan , others were not able to do. It depends on the individual TMPoint. If they say , yes its possible. Then yeah , otherwise you gotta persuade them. It may or may not work

2. Who is eligible to subscribe to Streamyx Cool Uni Pack™?
The package is only eligible to 1st or 2nd year IPTA/IPTS with endorsement from the respective universities. Diploma n Degree only

3. What is the basic requirement for me to subscribe the package?
You must have a TM Homeline or TM Home Prepaid before subscribing to this package.

4. Can I apply for this package if the TM Homeline is not under my name?
Yes, you may to apply for this package. However, the owner of the TM Homeline has to give authorisation for you to use the line for the Streamyx installation.

5. Is there any special offers on new TM Homeline application with this package?
Yes, you can enjoy the FREE installation fee worth RM50. A deposit of RM75 will be chargeable in your bill. You will also need to pay for the internal wiring during the installation of TM Homeline which will be paid by the student direct to the installer.

7. How long is the delivery period for this package?

8. Will I be entitled for any discount on the package since the Netbook is only delivered within 14 working days after
activation of Streamyx?

10. How will I be charged for this package?
The monthly subscription fee of this package will be charged to you via 'Bil Telefon & Multimedia' issued by TM.

11. Is there any minimum contract period applicable for this package?
The minimum subscription period of 2 years upon successful activation of Streamyx is applicable for this package. For any premature termination, an administrative fee of RM600 will be chargeable.

A : Dont panic. Just go to TMPoint and provide all documents , you may want to request for photocopied accreditation letter of the university (saying that the programes are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education) of your course (may needed if your university/college is unheard of). It all boils down to the manager of that TMPoint. If he says well you're good to go , you're good to go , otherwise its a no go


18.Q:In the brochure says that it's 2 years warranty but netbook shows 1 year warranty, why????UPDATED
A: TM has already confirm it's 2 years and hp shows 1 year because cannot update in the system.HP has already confirm it's 2 years warranty.Juz show ur receipt to them to repair. warranty TM and HP 2 years


Terms & Condition

* For IPTA/IPTS students preferably 1st or 2nd year.
* Minimum subscription period of 24 months. Customer are not allowed to terminate during the contract period .
* Netbook warranty will be 2 years.
* Student are not allowed to make last minute changes on the delivery and installation address.

it's all depends on you.. you already got the answer but haven decide.
CANNOT, ur streamyx is registered under ur homeline no.
If u really wan ur old house phone no. den u have to terminate tat streamyx but cooling period applied. (depends on TMpoint, some get it done in 3 days)

ok guys, i also received my Netbook (Mini 110-3004TU) from TiongNam today

i have few questions here:
1) is this 110 worse than 210 ?
2) the default Windows 7 Starter ady consumed 7xxMB of RAM in plain startup, possible to upgrade to 4GB RAM for better performance?
3) do I need Cooling Pad to prevent overheating?
4) i checked HP website, Warranty End Date: 2011-09-10, not 2 years meh?
5) can i cut off the LAN port seal/cap ? it is kinda irritating
6) do i need to activate the pre-installed Norton AV? can i use Kaspersky?
7) is it normal to hear the fan noise?

my friend terminated her old streamyx which is not under her name to apply for coolunipack. problem is now her phone line becomes deactivated and thr was no dial tone on the phone.

i juz called 100 from my phone and they said the port is full and was placed in waiting list.

my question is how come the phone line becomes deactivated as she did not terminate the phone line?

then, shouldn't be thr a port would be reserved for tat number as she did not terminate the number?

and how long would be her placed in the waiting list?

cannot be, terminate streamyx won't deactivated ur phone line unless he/she fill in wrong form.
about the waiting list, I not sure how long he/she gonna wait.

Like my unipack said 1 weeks will be done, instead waited 2 weeks.

i'm very sure we did not fill up wrongly as termination form was submitted with the coolunipack application form..

yup streamyx only.. even if i dun tick she would have knew coz i gave her the coolunipack form together. unless she has no brain!!

i think my situation is not stated at 1st page...

my house have 2 fixed line,line 1 is only for calling under my dad name(did not apply streamyx on this account before) , line 2 for streamyx only under my uncle name.(i will terminate line 2 if the line 1 UNIPACK application is success)

Q1: if i apply UNIPACK using my name(streamyx my name,line dad name) by line 1, will i need face the quarantine period/terminate this account??

Q2: line 2 MUST terminated first then line 1 just can done OR can wait till line 1 streamyx done just terminate line 2??

Just go apply for Unipack under ur dad's phone.
Just fill in the 'Third Party Authorization' column.

After successful, terminate ur line 2 if no use.

that means i can direct apply without terminate the line 1 first??

guys...i have a problem...im in ayer keroh melaka....applying cool unipack...now its 3 weeks,no tm come to setup the homeline..my uncle called his friends at tm and said that ayer keroh have not enough line to support all the inhabitants...anyone know what is it about?

What in the name of lord??? This netbook is just barebasics setup of the usual laptop...you want gaming, I suggest you to go get a desktop or a high-end laptop...

This is a netbook for the usual Emailing and office documents typing or internet surfing..I don't think this can even run DoTA.

hi guys, now i have problem with my HP Mini 110-3004TU, one side of the speaker has no sound, where should i bring to, to TMpoint or to HP service centre to repair????

i think some1 here did mentioned bout mini 110 only has mono sound. means others are ventilation holes.
