Regarding the 30% auto-payment cash back campaign, how do I know whether I'm among the 1st 4000 cardholder who subscribe for the auto-billing program or out of the list?

in the last line, i think you don't have to put the v1 ts name = terapox.
bcs the thread started as a cimb cc question (later only converted as official cimb cc thread).
i don't see much contribution or information about cimb cc in his first page.

i presume you mostly travel locally or within asean countries like indoensia.
frankly i would not consider eraman as a duty free shop at all - rather a crony shop.
the prices are marked up about 20% even with the duty exemption.
if you fly to changi, you can easily get a bottle of russian vodka at a fraction of what you pay at eraman.

your presumption is wrong. some of the liquors price are comparable to arab and european airports minus the lugging across airport, cabin and flight. changi is undeniably cheaper and a better airport. russian vodka is best bought at russia where some can be cheaper than a bottle of water.

maybe i was too general so if you are saying it is wrong to generalize i would agree smile.gif
however to say it is comparable to europe is utter nonsense.
i shop in berlin and paris very often, even liquors manufactured outside of europe is cheaper in the shopping mall/liquor store in town compared to eraman (klia airport). russian vodka is cheaper in russia- of course i agree. but when i cannot travel to russia, i would rather buy in singapore duty free or european sundry shop instead of eraman.

yes, it is now the good for airlines 20 percent rebate. many people didnt know that they do it. then you must apply at rakuten which is http://www.rakuten.com.my/event/cimb/apply...nner_cimb-apply

rm200 rebate will be given for application approve and 20 percent rebate + 5 percent online rebate for rakuten purchase. more detail u should refer to FAQ, not the term and condition http://www.cimbbank.com.my/creditcard/atta...mber%202014.pdf

must read the FAQ until the end of pages. more offer for online transition and airlines(MAS, not airasia since airasia charge extra for credit card payment).

Please exclude the 20% off airline tic purchase. It's a game of roulette. Bought 3 flights before, only 1 got credited automatically. Another one, I managed to get partial rebate after chasing them for like 2 weeks. I am chasing the third one now. Lodge a report with them on 9/3 and still no feedback until now.

no, your rm4k +1.5% = rm4,060 to be paid by next month.
if you did not pay any amount, next month will be rm4,060 +1.5% = rm4,120.90 to be paid by next month.
and if you pay rm2k before next month, rm4,120.90 - rm2k = rm2,120.90 +1.5% = rm2,152.71 to be paid by next month.

the monthly amount is not fixed, depending on your outstanding balance. the more you pay, the lesser the interest by the next month.

otherwise, you may call to ask whether they have any balance conversion plan like other banks in which you may convert your current outstanding to installments. usually balance conversion plan will just charge an upfront fee of around 3% to your balance conversion amount and then divided into around 6-12months.

let's say your rm4k + 3% = rm4,120 divided by 6 months = rm686.66 monthly (fixed)

Going to war with CIMB. They don't want to credit my cash rebate despite my airline purchase was clearly MCC 4511. They say it was a phone purchase according to their records (which is not).

I told them it's not a phone purchase and even if it's a phone purchase, there is no T&C stating that phone purchase doesn't entitle to rebate as long my MCC is in the rebate category. She say she will get back to me again.

I am sure they will revise the T&C soon tongue.gif

Yes, if posting date is on 28th or before. That is your transaction is online purchase. Anyhow I would prefer it to go into next statement so my cashflow this month will be more as it will get the 5% rebate anyway.

i got question for all cimb card holder. i got outstading about rm1.56 remaining on my cancelled credit card account.

how to clear my remaining balance? i called the call center, they ask me go to counter.

does it worth i need to go to cimb counter take number que for 20 minute and pay for the rm1.56?

cimb really cannot waive the remaining balance of rm1.56 something?

let say if i dont pay does it will charge me any interest since i already cancelled the credit card.
*
You can try Interbank GIRO maybe. If not mistaken, there is no minimum limit for interbank GIRO, the charge also lower, only RM0.10. And you can print the receipt after the IBG as proof later.
Even if they charged interest, it won't be high.. even after many years.... However, the outstanding may actually affect your CCRIS record. Try to settle it rather than delaying it.

Just received my e-statement for Cash Rebate Plat:

Pleased to know that my online hotel booking (RM182) through www.orbitz.com was given 5% rebate. I booked using this website coz it is cheaper than the popular online hotel booking sites.

Payment on lelong.com.my (netpay) also entitled for 5% rebate.

I am confused with the CIMB cash back platinum rebate... I bought Malindo Airline ticket three month ago and I didn't received the 20% cash back until now..I understand about max RM50 cash back per month cause I never hit 50 for any months... I have call to CIMB and the guy told me Malindo is not entitle... And I said it stated "all airline" in your website.. So what are those airline company entitle for 20% cash back? The tele officer keep quite and said will call me back... I waited for one week.. He never call back..

The second thing is.. I getting more and more confused when I check back my statement.. As stated online purchase 5%, petrol 2% and others 0.2%... But no matter how I calculate for my Feb statement.. Still more than the amount CiMB is given to me... Noted: IBBM, zalora and Tunehotel are online transaction, I have remove Maxis & Telekom for online 5% rebate.

Sucks. That means if your PC is 3K, you got to pay RM 24 for the cross border fees. I need to take note when purchasing large amount item with this card.

I kena cross border fees as well with Expedia the other day but luckily it's a relatively small amount.

Don't apply for CIMB. They sucks. Their service also terrible. I applied for worldcard and repeatedly told them I want world card. Finally card arrive and after some time realize it was Infinite card instead. They gave me such a headache to cancel off the card and the rm50 tax. I insist I wont pay for a card that I didnt apply. How much time I have wasted.

Poor service. Worse that goverment officer. All staff probably drank too much San Miguel beers

Rebate capped at Rm 50.
Sucks. That means if your PC is 3K, you got to pay RM 24 for the cross border fees. I need to take note when purchasing large amount item with this card.

I kena cross border fees as well with Expedia the other day but luckily it's a relatively small amount.

can you update on the cross border thread as well ?

Is there a thread on cross border fees? I only know there's a thread on foreign exchange currency which I don't think it's appropriate.

So far I know Dell, Expedia and Paypal has cross border fees. What else?

I activated my cimb cash rebate platinum card last week. Before I activated it, I asked the customer service officer twice to confirm. She said airasia and malindo is entitled to receive 20% rebate. Don't know how true is that. Is there anyone who manage to get the 20% discount on Airasia?

Read my post at page 4. I bought malindo air tickets at Jan but I never received the 20% cash back. Noted: my cash back was never hit RM50 for any month... the max RM50 is not a issue. I wrote a email to complaint, but they replied malindo not entitled!

Different airline company different.. For 20% airline cash back you really have to try your luck sometimes...
Airasia I bought three time before.. But only one qualified and I get the cash back.
Malindo once as per email above, they said not qualified.
Firefly once, also not qualified..
But in their website stated " all airline"... Quite funny...
You can try for your airasia.. Maybe your transaction qualified... lol

My friend emailed card centre to confirm whether Airasia is entitled to get 20% rebate or not. Here's their reply. doh.gif
They don't even dare to give direct answer. Instead they ask us to read the term and condition again. vmad.gif So? the answer is yes or no? What kind of customer service is this?

To answer those Airlines entitled or not it's decided by the MCC code of the transaction (at the merchant, not CIMB). You can call up and ask CIMB what is the MCC code marked for your transaction.
Then you compare the MCC against the T&C of CashBack Platinum Card.

If it doesn't match, then don't blame CIMB but the Airlines.
If it matches and you don't get the rebate, go after CIMB.

Educate yourself on MCC : http://www.dm.usda.gov/procurement/card/card_x/mcc.pdf

I am getting angry and riled up with CIMB regrading their 20% airline promo. 20% off ALL airline my foot. My latest issue on the Easter Jet still has yet to be resolved after a WHOLE month. Promised to call me back last Thursday to iron things right but nada, no calls at all.

Am going to blast a long email out to CIMB coming Monday and CC Bank Negara.

QUOTE(tifosi @ Mar 26 2014, 10:53 AM)
Going to war with CIMB. They don't want to credit my cash rebate despite my airline purchase was clearly MCC 4511. They say it was a phone purchase according to their records (which is not).

I told them it's not a phone purchase and even if it's a phone purchase, there is no T&C stating that phone purchase doesn't entitle to rebate as long my MCC is in the rebate category. She say she will get back to me again.

I am sure they will revise the T&C soon tongue.gif

Had a similar issue with another credit card promotion that has offers for certain MCC codes.

The problem is that there is no one that can tell you what that merchant's MCC code it. Tried calling the bank to ask if XXX merchant is under YYYY merchant code, they won't know. Tried calling the merchant to ask the same, but the staff also don't know. You will only know once you performed the transaction and call the bank to ask for the merchant code from the transaction.

Since AIRASIA does not fall under airlines category (20% discount), do we still entitle for 5% ONLINE airasia purchase? After all, the MCC is not airlines right?

I know the difficulty when bank doesn't give call in EPP.

Same goes to Citi, they don't give call in EPP to customer unless they have promotion on the EPP.

But OCBC are very welcome for call in EPP request.

May i know how much % the charges of EPP for CIMB?

Wait..i'm referring EPP to as 0% installment plan..or it is IPP (not sure)

I'm not too sure myself but there should be a small 1 time fee charged for the installment conversion.

Anyone know for Lazada promotion on Friday for CIMB Cash Rebate Card 10%.

On the website, the T&C stated the rebate is max at Rm30/card. Does this mean is Rm30 max discount per customer?

According to the CS, the card will automatically reload RM100 when ever the balance touch RM50. Per reload they will charge RM1.50 for the service & the reload fees + service charge will credit into your next month statement.

Meaning that u use the card without hassle to find place reload & pay it later with ur others billing.

Hahaha...i know how u feel.

Normally i reload my Touch&Go when the credit almost run out. tongue.gif

But for CIMB, i think they worry customer go outstation without enough credit so they set the baseline higher for auto reload.

Anyone know for Lazada promotion on Friday for CIMB Cash Rebate Card 10%.

On the website, the T&C stated the rebate is max at Rm30/card. Does this mean is Rm30 max discount per customer?

I already received the card, not using it anyway..

I've been using it quite frequently. Anyway I've called the CS and it says the Zing card will sent to me and the transaction will be reversed after that. If I used the card then it will auto top up RM100 once credit hit below RM50.

I've also ask for the MCC code for my airline purchase which I did and the MCC is within the TnC one (MAS Airlines). So now waiting for my statement this 28th to confirm whether 20% rebate (capped at RM50) will be given.

PS : I didn't buy the ticket online, it's over the counter at airport.

same problem like me, I already received the zing card that I never signed 3 days ago. before that already called and tell CS to reverse the Rm10 Zing registration fees, as I don't need the Zing card as I have my own TnG card, and I never opted to have this Zing card in the first place. So far I don't see the Rm10 charge to be reverse yet. mad.gif

same problem like me, I already received the zing card that I never signed 3 days ago. before that already called and tell CS to reverse the Rm10 Zing registration fees, as I don't need the Zing card as I have my own TnG card, and I never opted to have this Zing card in the first place. So far I don't see the Rm10 charge to be reverse yet.  mad.gif

I was told it would be reimburse on the same statement or next. If next one which mean I need to pay the RM10 first mad.gif

same with me. those jokers simply posted the card to my home via ordinary mail. i called the CS and screwed the bank good and well. i even wrote an email to them and cc-ed it to bank negara and abm. they claimed it was given for free and says its complimentary. i told them one word : bullshit. nobody mentioned about it to me when i signed up for the cash rebate card. and to think that they sent it to my house via ordinary post without notifying me. what the hell man. what happens if it got stolen from my mailbox. i might not have known that the card was sent to me in the first place.

cimb bank = irresponsible. i am seriously considering cancelling their card. they gave me extremely bad impression. the card centre will tell you one thing, their CS will tell you another. can't even get their shit together
*
LOL! they even claimed it was free/complimentary?

they literally admitted to violate BNM's guideline that banned banks from issuing unsolicited pre-approved credit cards/personal financing products. thumbup.gif

called to CIMB and they said it is foc(which they reversed the RM10 fee) and i can burn it , destroy it , as long as i didn't activate it YET vmad.gif mad.gif

too many grouse with cimb.
1. suppose to have e-bidding for prime account holder + cimb credit card holder but never get to use this facility. complaint for months also no use.
2. their visa infinite is suppose to be unlimited entries into airport lounges but when i tried to access one of them, was denied. apparently only for international flights but never stated this terms and condition from their website nor welcome pack. complaint to bnm also no use.
3. charging registration fees for zing card when one never even apply for it. this is just plain wrong and silly.
4. all promotional materials printed is always outdated. eg. free gifts upon credit card application (claims no more even though brand new promo), preferred rates for preferred customers (also claim no longer valid), etc.

bottom line, whatever the bank promises you, you could be almost sure that all are either lapsed or their benefits changed without informing you.

the only reason why i haven't cancelled their card is because i still have some rebate left in my card. once i've used up the rebate i will definitely be cancelling it. absolutely ridiculous attitude.

when i signed up, the even promised me a rebate of the service tax. but when i asked the CS about it, they said it is the prerogative of the card center (i signed up via the card center). how stupid is that? don't tell me the bank and the card center are totally separate entities altogether. c'mon, it's obvious they are merely trying to hoodwink their customers.

one word to describe cimb = unethical.
*
Agreed...
The Bank can't and won't give rebate BUT the card centre(retention dept to be specific) can give, on the spot, the thing is card user cant contact this dept easily, hv to wait for their call if they like.

They force u to keep & use the card by asking u to pay govt tax 1st, and they might give u the rebate 3 mths down the road hoping u'll forget bout it.... !!! mad.gif

no joke about this..this really happens to me:

card approved on 3rd april..mail out via NORMAL POST on 4th..
supposedly within 5-7 WDs to my office address..on 11th received sms card being sent out (i dunno why after a week approved n post sms being sent)..
on 16th called again (it is after the stipulated period), asked to issue a new card coz the card never arrived..
the person agreed to issue a new card and send via POS laju on 17th as an urgent case to the same address..
Surprisingly...both POSLAJU and NORMAL POST arrive on 21st!!

so the normal POST took 11 WDs to arrive!!

u might want to wait or mayb go vacation 1st else where, then the card will arrive rclxub.gif

Sorry to tell you, if you only apply with the FD without any supporting
Income documents like pay slips, your chances will be subject to management approval.
Which mean very low. The reason is for bank income calculation based on FD,
for instant, you put 230k FD with 3% interest, they will calculate your income in this way.
230,000 * 3% = 6900, which is your annual income, then 6900/12 = 575 is your monthly income... lol
FD is good as supporting income sources in case if your salary is not enough to support the loan.
But FD itself alone is not strong enough. Perhaps, they will request you to put the FD for more than one
Years to secure them as we'll. don't think they will accept one month FD for this application.

thanks, already activate the card. How to link the card with existing cimb click. I try to link manuall, and it said need 3 days to process. I ask CS, they said need to go to branch first, ask for PIN then baru can link.. dunno which one is correct  rclxub.gif , so mafan. Maybank automatically link the card and the account, haih...

I encountered the same issue last time, when I received my card (without T-PIN) then I link to my online banking account but it show that it can't be process.

Once I called the customer service and asked them to provide the T-PIN, then the linking process is completed successfully. CIMB should provide it earlier. :|

Received my card last month, swipe for over than 3 times (but actual need 3 times only for any amount) then I just received the welcome bonus and rebate this month billing cycle.

Btw, I also received the ZING Touch and Go (Auto-reload in highway) card offered by CIMB and they charged me RM10.00 for that. Called them and ask why they charged me, they told me that they will refund back the RM10.00 since the card was offered by them. smile.gif

I seriously suspect a flaw in their system on the airline cash rebate. I previously called and confirm the MCC for the airline tickets I purchase (Malaysia airlines MCC) which supposed to get the cash rebate but I didn't see the rebate in my statement vmad.gif

I think it will take 3-4 working days. But when it show on your cc statement, the transaction date and posting date will be the same.

me too. I called and confirm that MCC code for my air ticket is 4511 which is entitled for the 20% rebate. But I didn't see the 20% rebate. They give me 0.2% rebate instead of 20%. vmad.gif They also charged me RM 10 for the stupid zing card.

Tried to call the customer service from 7pm until 8.30 pm but couldn't get through. May be too many customer called last time to complaint about the 20% rebate or their customer service is really sucks. mad.gif vmad.gif

I bought the ticket on 3rd April. Statement date is 28th April. MCC code confirm is 4511. Can anyone confirm that the 20% rebate should be in April's statement or May's statement? rclxub.gif

i saw my balance limit is less 200 than it should be, is it because bank hold it since I pump petrol at the station?
But the statement for petrol already in my list, so they should release the 200 right?

No worries friend, cimb like to hold the 200 for longer period.
Their practice is 5 days holding.
Check again in day 6th after petrol pump.
The 200 will return back to you.

Yes. You are right. The 200 holding is based on per transaction.
Tips for you: if you don't want they hold 200,
Go inside the shop in petrol station and swipe your card with the staff there
rather than straight away at pump. In that case your card won't be hold for 200.

just a heads up if you use platinum cash back card on agoda, you only get the cashback of 5% on the following month so have to be aware of the capping RM50 eg. spent on Apr, it will only appear on May

could be bulk system reversal, i.e. cimb collected all impacted accounts, cancel and reverse the charge in one bulk process.

seems they have process issue or internal/external sales agent fraud (?) trying to con customers by silently subscribe zing card without customes' consent.

Not sure fraud by their sales agent or not. Last time when I was in conversation with the sales agent, I tried to reject the ZING TnG card because she offered it to me. She said the ZING TnG card is came along with CIMB CC, so that mean it should be free so I accepted it.

A question about the welcome cash back (RM 150 Cash Back if you siwpe your CC within 60 days - CIMB CASH BACK CC)

Does online transactions count?

Per say that you have paid your outstanding balance for this month and the welcome cash back is only qualified to be reflected on next month's statement, will it offset from your new outstanding?

If yes, does it have any time period before lapsed?

online transaction counts. usually any credit entry will offset existing outstanding. you only need to pay the reduced net amount. credits given to you will not be forfeited usually, just spend and offset it

CIMB has this ridiculous policy on using their card overseas or spending online in foreign currency. They charged certain amount for admin fees + I think 8% cross border fees. So it will sum up quite a hefty ridiculous charges. Avoid using CIMB online and overseas altogether.

Is it just cimb or it is also applied to other bank as well? If like that, then how people want to buy a bulk from outside?

about the zing card, is it ok if we just not activating it, or shall I call to cancel off the card? I have no use of the card since no touchNgo in sarawak, so i just worry if there any charges incur in the future.

i think only preferred customer gets auto reversal as it is complimentary zing.

others need to call and tell them u dun want to use the zing to get reversal.

not activating alone does not get auto reversal, it'll sit on the statement, i think.

the trouble is while it stays in statement n u dun pay, u invite interest charge.. then arguments, yelling...!!

that's best that way - if u dunwan the zing card, call them to cancel, reverse rm10 charge.

i think they dish out these zings to all cimb cc card holders, all kinds, old and new.

but unclear to me which cards get complimentary zings and which cards get rm10 charge zings - if u use it.

I think we do get 20% Additional Rebate for AirAsia. On 28th last month, My 'Cash Rebate Other Retail' do include 0.2% of AirAsia ticket purchase. However, on 30th April, 'Additional Cash Rebate' appear in my transaction. I just calculate & it is exactly 20% of the AirAsia tix price.

Anyone else can confirm this? I'm not really sure, but I can't think of anything else of where this 'Additional Rebate' come from. My last month transaction only consist of 1 AirAsia purchase, 3 departmental purchase & 1 gym fee.

i noticed in my e-statement, the rm10 rebate is given, auto.

but since i did not plan to sue it, i just called them to cancel.
answer is if u do not call to cancel, it will stay "active" pending activation at toll booth.

I encountered the same issue last time, when I received my card (without T-PIN) then I link to my online banking account but it show that it can't be process.

Once I called the customer service and asked them to provide the T-PIN, then the linking process is  completed successfully. CIMB should provide it earlier. :|
user posted image

Received my card last month, swipe for over than 3 times (but actual need 3 times only for any amount) then I just received the welcome bonus and rebate this month billing cycle.

Btw, I also received the ZING Touch and Go (Auto-reload in highway) card offered by CIMB and they charged me RM10.00 for that. Called them and ask why they charged me, they told me that they will refund back the RM10.00 since the card was offered by them. smile.gif

i hope all are aware that the points with visa signature and visa infinite can be used to redeem cash vouchers - tesco, kfc, jusco... the points have expiry date.

i called to redeem 5 days ago, got sms 2 days ago, voucher just arrived via poslaju. wink.gif

cimb cc has been gud to me - allowed me to transfer expired points of old direct access card to new visa signature. with no af, gf rebated.

a yr later, they now give me new visa infinite, allow me to redeem the expiring points, transfer pts balance to new card.

gud news is that visa infinite has no af and can expect gf rebate.

more generous than citibank!!

nice to know. the letter i got states vi is good for ppl klia, penang and changi, no mention of lcct or klia2.
will try next trip. maybe it is not just vi, but card or bank specific...?

i have preferred acc with them. last time, i asked for vi, they rejected, only gave me vs.
now, they say new policy = all preferred get vi+zing.
banks r banks, mgrs keep changing policies and rules...
who knows they will revoke or charge me af next yr?!
as customers, we just have to make full use of watever comes along.
if they change for worse, dump and move on!

Both preferred VI and regular VI have different benefits.. regular VI only has 2 complimentary access to PPL...
Preferred VI - unlimited I think ..

Preferred VI - points
regular VI - cash rebate

Obviously preferred VI is difficult to get - got to be preferred member. sad.gif

the answer is yes or no? yes is not correct because CIMB has more than 1 branch in KL but no seems inappropriate since this kind of question usually comes with an answer of YES.

tough question

i think for all cc, credit limits are earned over time.

u need to spend enough, and must pay up on time, every time.

over time, they will notice and raise yr limit.

if u spend little or spend a lot but settle late or just pay interest every time, no chance...

Mobile bill payment only entitled for 2% cash rebate.

I also rclxub.gif to check on my cash rebate, they should put a payment category for every transaction so easy for us to check it.

From my personal experience, cash rebate will be calculated and included in the next statement, for transactions posted on 28th. This is stated in the QnA.

Another way of looking at it, the transaction date for 'CASH REBATE' is on 27th, thus the cash rebates for all posted transactions after 27th will be included in the next statement. biggrin.gif

Amex is good as we pump petrol full in weekend.
If you are heavy user, for weekday, u can get Citi Platinum Cash Back or UOB One Card.
If you are light user, for weekday, just pump RM20-30 depend use Cimb Cash Back.

By the way, when you purchase something on Groupon, why not you pay directly with CIMB Cash Back credit card? You will get 5% cash rebate also. Paying through paypal comes with currency exchange fee. blush.gif

Anyone receive a call for the Credit Card Protection plan? The plan is 60sen is charged for every RM100 outstanding balance. No annual fee, etc. If you don't have outstanding balance, it means no need to pay anything.

i already have Maybank2card and CIMB Petronas.
But the CIMB benefit is not good enough for me.
becos for Petrol, i use AMEX a lot.
but for MasterCard transaction, i prefer to use CIMB card because Maybank Mastercard is almost benefitless tongue.gif
