Yes....Its ok not to activate it...And u will get the Rm10 reversal for the Zing Card....

I oso get the reversal of Rm10 for principle and supplement card on Zing Card....
*
i think only preferred customer gets auto reversal as it is complimentary zing.

others need to call and tell them u dun want to use the zing to get reversal.

not activating alone does not get auto reversal, it'll sit on the statement, i think.

the trouble is while it stays in statement n u dun pay, u invite interest charge.. then arguments, yelling...!!

i'm also using cimb cash rebate
i straight away called them when i see they charged me for zing card through cimbclicks
they have reversed the charge and cancel my zing card
*
that's best that way - if u dunwan the zing card, call them to cancel, reverse rm10 charge.

i think they dish out these zings to all cimb cc card holders, all kinds, old and new.

but unclear to me which cards get complimentary zings and which cards get rm10 charge zings - if u use it.

if not used the zing card, could it be cancelled?
*
i noticed in my e-statement, the rm10 rebate is given, auto.

but since i did not plan to sue it, i just called them to cancel.
answer is if u do not call to cancel, it will stay "active" pending activation at toll booth.

but think can still call and do it, maybe no more rm10 incentive...

think u misread. no charge if u stay with hardcopy.
some months back, they credit u rm10 one time, if u agree to go e-statement.

i hope all are aware that the points with visa signature and visa infinite can be used to redeem cash vouchers - tesco, kfc, jusco... the points have expiry date.

i called to redeem 5 days ago, got sms 2 days ago, voucher just arrived via poslaju. wink.gif

cimb cc has been gud to me - allowed me to transfer expired points of old direct access card to new visa signature. with no af, gf rebated.

a yr later, they now give me new visa infinite, allow me to redeem the expiring points, transfer pts balance to new card.

gud news is that visa infinite has no af and can expect gf rebate.

more generous than citibank!!

*
nice to know. the letter i got states vi is good for ppl klia, penang and changi, no mention of lcct or klia2.
will try next trip. maybe it is not just vi, but card or bank specific...?
QUOTE(Human Nature @ May 26 2014, 10:00 PM)
They offer VI to replace your VS, or you applied for it?
*
i have preferred acc with them. last time, i asked for vi, they rejected, only gave me vs.
now, they say new policy = all preferred get vi+zing.
banks r banks, mgrs keep changing policies and rules...
who knows they will revoke or charge me af next yr?!
as customers, we just have to make full use of watever comes along.
if they change for worse, dump and move on!

How to increase our credit limit? What docs needed?
*
i think for all cc, credit limits are earned over time.

u need to spend enough, and must pay up on time, every time.

over time, they will notice and raise yr limit.

if u spend little or spend a lot but settle late or just pay interest every time, no chance...

a random question guys, will cimb offers the preferred visa infinite card as complimentary once you become a preferred member or you still need to declare relevant documents?
*
it was not auto before. now, it is. but could be for a limited period only, certain conditions.
best u speak to one of the rm's in a preferred center.

Anybody know what Direct Access Platinum going to be replaced with which CIMB card ..another Platinum ?
*
i had the direct access card for many years.

last yr, i called them to replace with cimb card since i already have cimb bank accounts, clicks, etc. they offered me the visa signature, nothing better.

after a few months, no idea if due to policy change or, they auto sent me a visa infinite. i cancelled the signature after that.

....

reminder to those who got the zing card... the statement will show a rm10 charge followed by auto reversal. in between, if the monthly cutoff date is such, you will get a rm10 late payment charge. silly as it is, do not over look this but call them to reverse!

The CS assured me that there won't be any amount in the Touch n Go Zing card when it arrives with the Cash Rebates Card and I can cancelled it once I get it.. But, it was written in the application form that if we do not tick any amount under the TnG Zing card amount, it will automatically load RM 100 in the TnG card. If we want to cancel the TnG Zing card, the balance will be refunded back to the credit card, but RM5.00 processing fee will be incurred. This feels so unfair.

Anyone who has successfully refused the TnG Zing card while retaining only the Cash Rebates card AND without getting any penalty for processing fees?

Thank you in advance! notworthy.gif

There is no value in the card? Coz I c the declaration stated stating there will be complimentary Zing Card come with automatic reload amount of RM100.
Can we cancel the zing card after that if no activate? No charge for cancellation?
*
this zing card can be called a failure for cimb cc. all that money and effort wasted!

becos 9/10 people they issue to don't want it.

this is the way it works:

.. the project calls for every card member to be given a zing foc, they dish it out regardless u want or not
.. it needs activation at a toll both
.. if nothing specified, the first activation will transfer rm100 from cc to this zing
.. if u do not activate it, it will not be active but is not dead
.. to kill it, u need to call them, no charges
.. not activating and not killing it runs the risk of losing the zing for somebody to use it until u realise it

QUOTE(ProperTYcoon @ Aug 22 2014, 05:21 PM)
CIMB preferred doesn't have much benefits, i called up and made a cancellation on it.
*
i think at this time still valid....

if u r cimb preferred (250k in savings/current/fd/gold/unit trusts/structured deposits)... u get a visa infinite card, auto.

this card does not get u cash rebates, only points + airport lounges access... but... no annual fee + auto rebate for annual gomen fee (gst) - no need every year to call, argue, shout, cry, plead or beg like some other banks.

good to have as backup card in the wallet since almost guaranteed zero cost. wink.gif

*
i doubt the cimb preferred visa infinite will give you "extra" benefits in uk other than designated airport lounge access if u fly a lot.

i hv no idea which local bank credit card is best for uk spending.

cimb almost never give rebate for gomen tax/gst. i had the card for years, never once, always pay with points.

QUOTE(Devil4life @ Nov 5 2014, 11:06 AM)
What card is that? I having CIMB Plat CB card which don't earn CIMB points. If can't waive service tax guess I have to cancel it too
*
cb = cashback. cashback cards for sure wont get rebate for gomen tax/gst. this is the case for all banks now.
another bank told me "pls spend more to earn more cashback to pay for it"!!

anyone getting suspicious call stating they are from CIMB bank and say there is a floating transaction amount of 3 thousand plus waiting for your verification. problem is my credit limit is currently less than that amount so it sounds like a fraud to me. the number called is +601300880900, which is same like the hotline number.
*
that tel no. is genuine.

it is possible u forgot what u did! unless u r sure u did not do any transaction of that amt incl online like paying insurance, hire purchase, etc.

i had a call like that some weeks ago when i made an online transaction. caller said he's from cimb fraud dept.
now, becos he asked me for my personal details, i had to be sure the call is genuine.
i asked him to give me his name, told him i call to verify first.
i then called the hotline, verified the name and dept, then call passed to speak to him.
verification confirmed, can proceed.

see, the issue above is about who needs to verify who first! biggrin.gif

*
hmm... sounds very suspicious indeed.

well, if u called n they verify no such thing, just ignore.

did u tell hotline about it?

there have been fraudsters somehow getting genuine numbers to appear on yr phone for such tricks.

i got one call before - but it was hopelessly fake...

No more service tax on credit cards

BY SHARANPAL SINGH RANDHAWA

PETALING JAYA: Credit card holders will have to pay the 6% Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the card’s annual fee, but the RM50 service tax will be dropped.

“Some banks may however waive the annual fee upon request.

“Then in such cases, there will be no GST payable,” said Association of Banks in Malaysia executive director Chuah Mei Lin (pic).

Banking sources explained that the GST on the annual fee might vary from RM53 to RM500, depending on the type of card.

They said that cardholders could use their loyalty points or rebates to offset the 6% tax.

Chuah said the implementation of GST would also mean that the RM50 Government service tax on the principal cardholder and RM25 on each supplementary card, which has been imposed since Jan 1, 2010, would be abolished.

“Beginning April 1, this service tax will be abolished in accordance with the GST Act,” she said in a statement.

Chuah also made it clear that GST would not be imposed on late payment charges and finance charges.

“Late payment charge refers to the charge when the cardholder fails to pay at least the minimum monthly payment by the due date,” she said.

Finance charges, she said, were charges imposed on the cardholder on the outstanding balance which has not been settled on or before the payment due date.

Chuah also dismissed talk that cardholders would have to pay GST each time their card was swiped.

“GST is not chargeable when swiping a credit card to make payment.

“For example, if you eat at a restaurant which is registered for GST, and the bill comes to RM50, you will be charged 6% GST on the total bill. So the amount you have to pay would be RM53 (ie RM50 + 6%).”

“If you choose to pay for the bill using your credit/debit card, you will not be charged a further 6% on top of the RM53,” she said.

Customs Department GST director Datuk Subromaniam Tholasy said the abolition of the RM50 service tax would benefit cardholders as they would now only have to pay the 6% on the annual fee.

“For example, if an annual fee of a platinum card holder is RM500, then the cardholder will only need to pay RM530 (RM500 + RM30, which is the 6% tax).”

“The RM30 is obviously a lesser amount that a cardholder has to pay compared with the RM50 service tax,” he said.
