DiGi Prepaid is sorely lacking in good data options for light users.

Not everyone want to use postpaid or can afford a high-end smartphone.

This week I'm using Weekly 250MB @ RM15/week.

After 4 days of what for me is quite heavy usage (check email, lowyat, read news, browse some other sites, use mostsms, etc), my data usage less than 40MB total, so 1 day is use less than 10MB), and the whole week may add up to 70MB which is less than a third of the quota.

I'm using UC browser which I think is pretty efficient on reducing data consumptions.

I'm way below quota and therefore feel the price DiGi is charging is not value-for-money.

Hotlink has 7 mobile internet options, with various quota and duration (and unlike DiGi, only the monthly ones auto-renew)

Umobile has their monthly 500MB for RM28, which works out less than half what I'm paying and interestingly also half the quota under DiGi's Weekly 250MB.

For me, Umobile has hit the relevance button with their prepaid package. I am very loyal to DiGi having been their prepaid customer for 12 years. However, I will not wait forever for DiGi to come out with relevant data offering for prepaid users.

As I see it, there are 3 possibilities:

1. introduce more choices like Hotlink already have

2. modify the PAYU cap to have a staged pricing (example, RM1 for up to 10MB, RM2 for up to 25MB, and etc)

3. offer rebates/rewards for light users that do not exceed the quotas.

The weekly RM15 is way too expensive. It should be RM15 for 2 weeks then it would be just nice.

Sincerely, I believe DiGi doesn't worth any customer's royalty because the service basically sucks really badly. I have been using 2008 and was previously on Maxis.

To be honest, the reception is getting worse these days.

I'm using DiGi Prepaid Internet Unlimited for my laptop at home every day since June.

It is not super fast, but it is stable and dependable smile.gif

And it costs RM1/day. It is a good deal smile.gif

All I want is a similar prepaid deal from DiGi on my hp, instead of having to pay RM2 or RM3 per day (which is too expensive for continuous use).

It was a joke, about changing your friends.

If you are disatisfied with DiGi you should go, talk with your feet. If more people did that, instead of complaining yet staying till the cows come home, then DiGi would get the message to buck up. It is over-loyalty and resistance to change that is maintaining the status quo in terms of DiGi's service quality. However, there are signs that, with the number of DiGi users defecting to Um, DiGi will wake up finally and start doing something.

You really think I didn't complain before? I have already voiced out but no improvement.
My friend just stays 2 streets away from me (same housing area), using DiGi broadband and the page hardly moves. Speedtest shows 100kbps only. doh.gif I also made a complaint on her behalf and DiGi said nothing much can be done. My goodness and we are not staying in any ulu place, we are at Petaling Jaya. The so-called pioneer area for DiGi 3G.

dear Fruitie

I think misunderstanding. What I mean is if you complain and not satisfied with the answer, then it is really time to move.

It's like resigning a job. You just have to make up your mind and then do it.

Not really an issue la. Still bearable at the moment. Just that it actually disappoints me when I'm using its BIS plan. A friend of mine who uses the same model of my BB, opens the same page on Maxis and while me on DiGi. Her page loads faster than mine... sad.gif

Good

and it's nice to see this topic rejuvenated with chapter 9

recently, hardly much posting about DiGi, they are all in the Um mobile thread

it reminds me, years ago DiGi had a slogan : It's about U

sooner or later the yellow and orange will be one company, dunno what colour

in fact, DiGi started turning from yellow to orange already a few years back

if you have plan like that, you should keep it for sure

my monthly usage at home is always within 3G quota on my DiGi plan

not a problem for me

however, telco should use the word Unlimited cautiously these days in view of Trade Descriptions Act 2011 now in force

DiGi using Techno-Savvy for describe DiGi Easy plan - I have no idea why, since the data options are exactly the same as for Best plan these days - another failure by DiGi, they should offer a good data plan to Easy users only

complaining sometimes works, when it's about misleading or incomplete information on offers

see the two images below, one before and one after i complained

by the way, i'm not sure the code at the end is correct, on my hp it is ...1# not 2#

quite a few here in LYN have remarked that Um is like the old DiGi

i agree

my expectation is that Um and DiGi will do share swap or something

not yet, maybe a year from now

they should cooperate on 4G at least

Hi,

I am currently using Blackberry prepaid unlimited plan for RM25/month. The problem is, I don't know why DiGi keeps charging me with the extra RM8/day internet when it is stated that the plan already includes unlimited internet browsing. What I normally do online on my BB is Facebook, Foursquare, BBM, Whatsapp and check emails. Please enlighten me because my patience is growing thin.

I believe the Data plan is exclude your data usage. Any calls or data usage will be charged on top of RM25. Unlimited internet browsing is referring to after you had exceed the data usage, they would not block you instead of putting you to the lowest priority in terms of browsing speed. smile.gif
You can talk to the operator anytime, this is just what I know based on the data plan provided by Digi. smile.gif

Digi seems like really want to push out Samsung Galaxy S II ah? Last month promo, this month promo even crazier.

Currently I am using the number of other person name (as supplimentary line) who is also the principal for the account. But the owner is always late in due payment and my number keep barred to due late payment on his side. I decide to separate and reregister the number under my name but the owner doesn't seem care about this and uncontactable.

Can I change the ownership of my number and change my plan?

guys, im thinking of subscribing Digi Smart Data plan RM43 in the near future. however i'm still confused with the data plan itself. What does it mean by:

FREE (100% discount on your Monthly Fee once total billed usage hits
RM200 or more)

OR

25% discount (once total billed usage hits RM100)

Does this discounts only applies to data usage only or includes calls/sms/mms?

Furthermore, is this RM43 commitment only for internet usage and we have to pay calls/sms/mms rate seperately? Hope our fellow yellowman can enlighten me on this. thanks smile.gif

*
I believe DiGi still requires the main line to be present or at least his authorization letter.
Best bet - Pay a visit to DiGi Centre and enquire about it. DiGi Centre and not any DiGi Specliased Store.
Else, you gotta change to a new set of no. smile.gif

QUOTE(vult2res @ Dec 3 2011, 02:49 PM)
guys, im thinking of subscribing Digi Smart Data plan RM43 in the near future. however i'm still confused with the data plan itself.

*
Only the data fees - RM 48 (or RM 43 if apply for auto billing). There won't be discounts for other usages.

Yes, RM 43+(other usages).

I don't think there is a grace period but from postpaid to other plan or prepaid requires at least 3 months if I'm not mistaken.

But in the website only says RM48??? (discount RM20).....so which is true? Or the CS blur blur and gave wrong info? She says RM30 and RM20 discount respectively for DIGI 68 and 48 plans....

25% or Free (100%) discount is on the Smart plan which is your 48 or 68.

The 48 (43 if use auto billing) is only for 1gb internet (if over quota will get throttled only, no extra chargers)

Call/SMS/ the rest separately count

Services Charges
Voice (to all networks) 15 sen/min
SMS (to all networks) 10 sen/SMS
MMS (to all networks) 20 sen/MMS

Don't dream. DIGI despite being a major telco...DON'T HAVE A PHONE LINE CONTACT FOR THEIR SHOPS. Basically, they don't want to entertain people, that's why. I just have a nice chat with DCHAT on how useless they are. You have to Walk-in. Like how they do it in the 16th Century.

So if i want to sign up phone plan, the store no stock, i have to run all over the state one by one just to see which store has stock. Brilliant. Just Brilliant.

I always know Digi's coverage isn't very good even in places where there is coverage. But taking a look at their FB page it seems pretty bad doh.gif

https://www.facebook.com/myDiGi?sk=wall&filter=1

Considering I might be getting a Digi Smart Plan soon, this doesn't sound good.

DIGI are getting crappy nowadays.

I have RM30 credit at the moment.
Is there a way to spend it other than calling and texting?
If can finish RM30 within an hour would be great.

you can send some of the credit to another DiGi Prepaid user (except on Easy plan) by using TalkTime Trasnfer

though you won't be able to reduce it to zero that way, as there is a minimum balance requirement

Unbelievable isn't it? I once went to DiGi Times Square to sign up for a one-day promo. The system was down, they asked me to return to check after 2 hours. I asked for a number to call but they don't have one. So they expect me to hang around for 2 hours but the system could still be down after that! And they could not extend the one-day promo even though it's their fault I couldn't sign up and I had to stay there all day. When my contract expires, I'll take my money to Umobile.

Online chat is hopeless, forget about them. If you're lucky, they don't know what you're talking about. If you're unlucky, they give you wrong info.

Changing from supp line to main line can be done with a letter of authorization from the main line owner. I've done it before at BTS (I'm a supp line holder). If your main line owner cannot be reached, you'll have to be resourceful brows.gif know what I mean?

It's like this.

You pay RM1199+500+68 =RM1767

RM1199 is price of the device
RM568 is the upfront payment which will be used to pay your monthly bills.

RM568 divided by RM48 is about 12 months.

This means that you don't have to pay your first 12 months monthly bills of RM48/month because you already paid RM568 upfront payment for it already

If u using prepaid, change in to postpaid and take the plan.. If you already using postpaid without any contract tied to it, then u entitled to the promo too..

*
***All advanced payments will be credited and reflected in your first monthly bill. It will be used to offset your monthly bill charges.

Yes correct. But DIGI won't deduct 48 for 12 months.

You pay RM1199+500+68 =RM1767

568 will be used to deduct your monthly charges regardless of the amount. (If first month bill is 150, you will have -418 as a balance. Second month bill 78, balance will be -340, and it's go one until the advance payment finish)

The RM 48 only can be enjoyed when you register for auto payment (which is only done upon request by customer).

I believe this is correct. The earliar deduct RM48 is by some dumb DIGI staff no idea what they're talking about...

Just signed up for SGS2 today...24months contract...

RM1199+RM500=RM 1699. The RM68 not needed since i am existing subscriber...i also owe them RM104 haven't pay yet...so consider the RM500 settle part of my latest bill...so only pay about RM400 advance...haha.

I have done the auto payment...so rebate RM20 every month for my RM68 plan. Ok lar...pay RM48 get 3GB data...must watch Youtube kaw-kaw on my SGS2 now...tongue.gif

You are rite bro.. I asked DIGI staffs and they will mention otherwise. Almost all never give the correct answer. I've experience how the deduction works coz my fren took the same package from DIGI and they explained different to him. Only when the bill comes, we know how it actually calculated.

Anyone knows what's going on with DiGi's line lately? It's super super hard to send text messages out. At times its okay and the text gets sent out quickly.. at times i have to make a call to sort of "push" the network so that the msg will be sent.

Yes...when i started using my DIGI Smartplan last time also like that, the advance will be deducted each month for total bill until no more then have to start paying. Dunno why dumb DIGI staff don't know about this...dun they have some sorta basic training???

Still RM48 , the rebate is 24 x RM 20=RM480. But remember, this is only for internet usage, call charges lain kira. My bill say if your call charges =RM30 every month, then u pay RM48+RM30=RM78.

Go to DIGI shop and show your credit card. But remember, only a few shop like the one in SS2 or Mont Kiara can do this for you. The rest all useless. You can check DIGI website on what service each shop offers.

In short, those are DiGi Centres. Only DiGi Centres can do auto-billing, not Specialised Stores. So, it is unfair to call others useless.

Cannot, DiGi requires the presence of your main line as well to get your line cancelled under the main line.

Dear Digi fans,

I will be going back to Malaysia for 2 months and would like to take a data plan while I am back. I noticed that Digi Smart Plan mentioned something about "No Contract - No obligations, no minimum period required".

Does it means I can subscribe a Smart Plan for two months? I just need the line as I will be using an existing phone. Does Digi provide Micro Sim?

Thanks in advance.

yes DiGi provide microsim

however for such a short period of time, i don't think it's worth the troubles of signing up for postpaid

why not consider prepaid? if you only want data service, DiGi have a prepaid data only sim

simpack costs RM25 and you can get microsim one too

details available here

I will also need to make some calls and do some sms. I don't mind to go through the hassle if Digi Smart Plan is as how I understand it.

Does it means I will just have to pay for 2 months and that's it?

If not because Digi probably has a better 3G/2G coverage than U mobile, I'd definitely NOT recommend getting it because U mobile has the same 1GB data plan+ 200 free sms(to all telco) for only RM28/month thumbup.gif

Thanks for replying ... rclxms.gif

im sorry for not asking question correctly. sad.gif

I mean is the advance payment of digi
(RM500) going to be deducting off for each month after we started subscibing its plan until there is no more advance payment only we'll have to start paying phone bills? hmm.gif

Added on December 14, 2011, 7:46 pmhttp://shop.digi.com.my/Store/postpaid_selection.aspx?gid=8081846f-4497-4ce0-b01e-4517c5b1cb38&did=6bf27404-20bb-48b4-b414-2f5945358c71&pid=8c7d9219-55be-4595-8a5c-1332bf595a07&tenure=24

This page below there says that advance payment will be offset every month, but i dont understand that whether its going to offset my total amount of bills for that month including calls or sms or its going to be fixed at 48per month? Maybe lower? I just dont know how much i'll have to pay for each month after i start subscribing...

I received 1 SMS from digi stating there are upgrading the network around Kelana Jaya and PJ area. Maybe that is why you're experiencing issues hmm.gif

For any network issue, just check this link whether your place having a network upgrade or not wink.gif

thanks for this information

it is good to see that DiGi are finally making public announcements on what they are up to

DiGi have been totally silent on the issue of network quality and upgrading for so long

yes, that's true, but the thing is it is very hard to get approval for the whole 5000 sites upgrade process. hopefully their network can be more superior than the current situation. let's be patient and hope our wait is well worth it.

if digi doesnt speed up the upgrade process, they might lose customers. most of us dont have the space to wait for long. still,it's a good news tho.

What has disturbed me with DiGi for a long time is not merely the deterioration in its network quality, but equally or even more is the total lack of engagement, communication and apology from DiGi to its customers. There are plenty of users [including me] who would prefer to stay with DiGi, but we have to be informed what is going on.

Even this tomorrow network website , we learn of it from a stranger at this enthusiasts forum, instead of from DiGi themselves. I cannot even find a link to the page from DiGi main website.

DiGi spending a fortune every day on newspaper advertisements selling smartphones. That money would be better spent conveying what is going on with the network. DiGi should treat its customers with a little more respect and humility if it wishes to retain them long term.

actually digi improved the broadband quality after the upgrading...

my colleague using galaxy note and keep complaining to digi that our office area (glenamarie U1) dont have good 3G signal even though the tower just RIGHT behind me office... my colleague was 2 "monkey" on top of the tower last few days ago while my colleague having some minor problem on coverage (claimed that call in and out... but i try to call in and out and surf net under Edge, no issues... hmmm...)

but the next day my colleague claimed that his galaxy note broadband speed improved a lot with 3G... smile.gif

Not true, I'm using DiGi Smart Plan Lite + BIS plan. Been on EDGE all this while to save my battery juice. I'm not being charged extra at all.

How about your friends? Any of them using DiGi and at the same area as yours?
Do they have the phone connected to 3G?
If no, put your SIM card into your friend's phone which supports 3G.

If none of your friends is able to connect to 3G in the same area as yours and using DiGi - Tower issue
If your SIM card can detect 3G in your friend's phone - Phone/SIM card issue (unlikely)

3G = UMTS
3.5G = HSDPA and now most of them have upgraded to HSPA

Either way, you should see a H for a normal smartphone and 3G for BlackBerry. BlackBerry will only show 3G and not H or 3.5G.

1) I am still using Digi Prepaid Plus. Do you still remember what is the call rate and sms rate? Need these info to compare with Digi Best Prepaid (to be able to use Super Long Life) but cant find it anymore.

2) For Digi Best Prepaid, the first 15 FnF numbers are confirmed free? http://www.digi.com.my/prepaid/services_fnf.do

3) For Digi Best Prepaid, what is the sms rate to non-Digi non-FnF number?http://www.digi.com.my/prepaid/plan_hit1.do

4) For Digi Best Prepaid, what is the call rate to non-Digi non-FnF number before hitting RM1?http://www.digi.com.my/prepaid/plan_hit1.do

Pretty confusing.

Best

2) Yes, the first set of FnF numbers are free to add - 11 DiGi and 4 non-DiGi line

3, 4) Basic sms rate is 10 sens (this also applies to non-DiGi FnF numbers) and basic call rate is 36 sens/min (30-second charging block)

Prepaid Plus

I'm really not sure the rates now. This plan used to have horrendous outstation rates up to RM2.40/min, but that may have been reduced now to the Beyond Rate of RM1.20/min [or even less?].

One good point on this plan was the smaller charging block, which may make short (10-20 seconds) local calls cheaper than under the latest plans.

Overall, it's worth changing to Best without any doubts.

Yes, you can add internet package to your subline....RM30 + RM48 i think....IMO, not worth it. Might as well subscribe to MAXIS RM50 with voice/sms and 250MB data....of course, if RM250MB data not enuff (sufficient for moderate social updates and light surfing once a while). I think MAXIS subline for RM30 also includes 250MB data!!!

Who knows what DiGi are up to these days, apart from getting further and further behind all other telcos

DiGi Best sim also not sold in DiGi Online shop

DiGi seem to have pushed Easy plan to new users as it is more profitable (no FnF numbers, no 12 sens calls, no Reload Bonus, most other promotions also denied)

It is about time DiGi had something new and more competitively priced, especially for prepaid data options where they only seem interested in postpaid customers

I have two(2) DIGI numbers; 014 and 010.

Can I transfer credit from 014 to 010?

How to do it?

The code 010, 014, 016 make no different

Only depends on the DiGi plan

Easy plan cannot send or receive credit, other plan can

Also subject to minimum balance after transfer, and there's a fee of 75 sens

Dial *128*1*7#, if it says Talktime Advance, you're on Easy plan

Other plan, it should say TalkTime Services and list some options, including Talktime Transfer

Other plan, it should say TalkTime Services and list some options, including Talktime Transfer

pissed off a bit with Digi website. Just now went to two branches to get the HTC Sensation XE under the Gila2 Internet sale, then thinking, i dont usually change phone that frequent, then why not tying to 24-month EPP. But went to the 1st branch in Jusco Bukit Indah, they told me they couldnt accept EPP, asked me to go to Jusco tebrau City. Then they also couldnt accept the fukin EPP, whereas on the site it states both shops can do EPP. vmad.gif wasting my time like hell, and they asked me to go to Digi Centre in Taman Molek JB for the EPP. anyone can confirm whether that branch in Taman Molek accept EPP or not? I plan to go tomorrow but afraid gona waste my time again if they dont accept it. then why publish it on the fukin website?!! doh.gif rclxub.gif

even if I calculate everything, then MINUS the Mobile1(Actually that phone jumped into SingTEL, not M1 as stated eventhough I set the network selection mode on MANUAL) I am still getting overcharged by a few cents...

Hi, have some query on phone + plan package;

if buy phone+Smart68 plan using credit card EPP.... total = phone + RM68(plus tax) X 24mth... then need to pay total/24mth in credit card monthly

1)what about the monthly RM15 + RM5 (auto billing) Rebate? Is this still given?

2) if rebate is given, how is it applied to the bill? eg. if my additional bill (talk time + sms) is RM7 only, then RM20-RM7= RM13 extra.... is this refunded to my credit card or brought forward to next bill cycle

Tried to search on this topic/ query already but can't find answers... rclxub.gif
if there is already a similar query else where, do share the link... and my apologies for asking a repeat query smile.gif

0.facebook.com is only free for certain hours.
You may also face difficulty as the moment you turn on data connectivity, the phone will use it to transmit non-facebook packets right away. So you will be charged a little.
Real solution, get dataplan.

as a telco, DiGi should stick with providing telecommunication services instead of selling devices

with the gila sale, DiGi have opened up a whole new channel of user dissatisfaction

what is the point of pushing new postpaid signups, when even if the user could get the device (which it seems is a big IF), after one month of using the service, they want to get out of the 2-year contract as the service is so poor

DiGi should focus more on retaining existing customers by improving the network

hi bro

1) you and your Maxis holder friend MUST go together to DiGi Centre, tell the CS that you want to convert your friends maxis number to be your supp line. Need to pay rm30 if im not mistaken (DiGi family postpaid advance payment)

2) DiGi CS will register your friends number to be under your name as you want that number to be your supp line, you will receive a sim card and then need to wait around 24 - 48 hours the transfer process.

3) If Maxis approved, they will terminate the number and you can use the same number as your supp line, just insert the DiGi sim card. Done

Last year i did this kind of process to convert my gf Celcom number to be my supp line under DiGi, number still same 019, but under DiGi. thumbup.gif

for Digi prepaid there is only the daily 50MB for RM3 and the weekly 200MB package for RM15
both isn't attractive for the price

sadly, DiGi do not have an affordable prepaid data option for light users

i'm waiting for it a long time, and have told the DiGi management to come out with it

so far, all i noticed is their website does not emphasize much on the Daily 50MB any more, i supposed becuase it is so expensive plus there is the hassle of auto-renewal

meanwhile, i've been using Hotlink Mobile Internet option of 10-day pass for RM10 and 75MB

the only good thing on DiGi is they do not charge for over quota, Hotlink do cancel the pass once you exceed the quota, thereafter they will charge PAYU rate unless you open a new pass

Hey, i need a confirmation ...
I wanted to sign for the Galaxy Nexus ...

Here is my current plan:

Digi Postpaid (50) - Principal
Digi Postpaid (30) - Supp line 1
Digi Family Prepaid (15) - Supp line 2
Digi Family Prepaid (15) - Supp line 3

I used D'Chat and the DigiCS said that if i sign for Nexus, my principal will change from Digi Postpaid (50) to Digi SmartPlan. And it will not effect my supp line.

I have a doubt if the both Digi Family Prepaid can still be supp under me, or need to change to Postpaid(30). From the DigiCS, it said it won't be effected, but i just want to make sure, anyone can confirm? Thanks.

Done

Last year i did this kind of process to convert my gf Celcom number to be my supp line under DiGi, number still same 019, but under DiGi.  thumbup.gif
*
Thanks for the clarification.

I'm thinking it's easier to just get a new DiGi number for my supp line. I was told by DiGi the RM10 access fee per month supp line is not available anymore, now it's just RM30 supp line inclusive of some free calls and SMS. Is this true? I don't want RM30, I want RM30 and pay as I use. The supp line is for calls and no SMS, no data. What's my best option?

*furthermore, digi offer the cheapest plan than celcom galaxy nexus plan
and i just need a plan which in whole malaysia can surf internet using it mobile network
for call, normally use back my maxis simcard which used since 2006
anyone can give idea whether should i MNP to digi icon_question.gif ??

guys my dad is planning to get a smartphone, and i'm looking at the phone bundles at digi. He's currently on the DG50 line now, sometimes usage about RM80, sometimes less than RM40. Would it be good if he changes to Smart Plan RM48 or 68 + phone bundle? he's planning to get Galaxy W, but 1GB data seems overkill for now rclxub.gif

Name:
Number: DiGiRewards
Content:
FREE 6,888,888mins DiGi-DiGi calls are up for grabs. Reload RM30 to enjoy FREE instant 28mins this CNY from 17-19 Jan. T&Cs apply
Time: 17/01/2012 20:01:18

1. The message is very confusing, because it sounds like the minutes are only valid from 17-19 Jan, whereas in fact this is just the period for accepting the offer (and the minutes are valid till end of Feb according to DiGi website).

2. Apart from that 6,888,888 divided by 28 = 246,031.71, so I don't think it is possible for DiGi to give away the amount stated.

3. Birthday bonus is a better deal biggrin.gif

Main line yes but not supplementary.
Supplementary has to separately register for Internet Plan. Can choose either one: http://www.digi.com.my/postpaid/3ginternet.do

agreed.. for long time, DiGi was lousy for talktime transfer

1) charges
2) validity - a miserable 2 days
3) transfer amount

Hotlink more generous on all counts, example RM10 or more transfer gives the recipient 7 days validity

pay as you use rate is 10 sen / 10 kb, or 10 sen per connection if you used less than 10 kb

whatsapp is the kinda program that constantly connects and disconnects, so the 10 sens will soon add up

daily data cap on prepaid is RM8 per day

you had better subscribe to Weekly 250MB for RM15 per week or about RM2.15 per day

you won't need anything like that amount of quota if just using whatsapp

unfortunately, at the moment, DiGi does not have much to offer for light data users under prepaid

to be fair i think any telco can be terrible when things go wrong

always take much of time and energy to sort out

and a few tries before you find a CS staff that really know his or her stuff and give proper answer instead of just an answer

yes, you can

apn = diginet

dialup number = *99#

authentication protocol, select CHAP

all else, leave blank or set to dynamic

note : of course, you won't be able to receive calls when your sim is in the modem, and you may not even know if someone calls you - one way around this, is to set up a call divert to your main line before you insert the DiGi sim in your modem - the diverted part of any call is chargeable but you could minimize the charges by setting your main line as an FnF number (non-DiGi number is only possible for Best prepaid).

Near KL Sentral, which is surprising. My "H" drops to "3G" quite abit, and when on "3G" it doesn't move. On S2 here btw.

Hmm then probably it's just my problem

Near KL Sentral, which is surprising. My "H" drops to "3G" quite abit, and when on "3G" it doesn't move. On S2 here btw.

Hmm then probably it's just my problem

Same here. I'm using BlackBerry Bold 9780 and limit my connection to EDGE.
My BIS doesn't seem to work well, keep on time-out.
I'm at KL Sentral too.

yes, you can

apn = diginet

dialup number = *99#

authentication protocol, select CHAP

all else, leave blank or set to dynamic

note : of course, you won't be able to receive calls when your sim is in the modem, and you may not even know if someone calls you - one way around this, is to set up a call divert to your main line before you insert the DiGi sim in your modem - the diverted part of any call is chargeable but you could minimize the charges by setting your main line as an FnF number (non-DiGi number is only possible for Best prepaid).
*
just subscribe 1 week 250mb data plan for rm15.. i just put my sim into the modem and I'm able to directly connect without having to setup anything at all.. smile.gif

just a question.. how do i check how much usage left from my plan? what will happen after I finish the 250mb? will my line be cut off, charge pay per use after that or they just throttle the speed?
thanks.

there's no way to check usage on DiGi prepaid, except to use your own meter such as the modem software

speed may throttle after quota, but definitely no extra charges so don't worry..

DiGi SmartPlan. Prepaid Daily 50MB and Weekly 250MB, all only strangle speed after quota

Prepaid data pay-as-you-use, daily cap is RM8

Postpaid data pay-as-you-use, monthly cap is RM240

Postpaid 68Plus and 88Plus have PAYU rate of 30sen/MB after quota

Basically, except for Smartplan, only DiGi postpaid users have to be a bit careful on data quota

Can't make/receive call or send SMS? I'm one of them and it has been about 2 days now. Called Digi and found out that:

Digi has 2 areas with service impacted... 1st area (near NKVE Damansara toll) will have partial service restored on 23rd and fully up by 1st March. So good luck to those impacted.

Digi Postpaid Plus is another plan to make more money from the customer.
It suits those who are "balance" user, ie use same amount of SMS and voice call every month only.

For those who are heavy sms-er or use voice call more, you will have to pay more! For example, for the old DG50 plan, for pure voice call user, one can make up to 384 mins voice calls; but for the new DG48 plus, one can make up to 200 mins voice calls only, subsequent usage will be charged accordingly. --- Vice versa for SMS and MMS also.

This is actually another marketing tactic by Digi - New plan = customers have less flexibility to decide on how they going to utilize their monthly commitment.

Yes, you can try to call them also to re-confirm again if you like. I tested and it seems the area impacted is all the way until about 300m before the traffic lights of the KBU junction. So people in the housing area there also may also be impacted.

edit: Service appears to have recovered since ~noon time and steady until now. Fingers crossed!

My prepaid got deactivated because I did not reload for 3 mth & digi never send reminder for me to do so. I went to Digi center for help and they told me my number is still in the sistem but then they say they cant get me back the line because i need to give them the card holder that initially came with the sim card thing that put into your phone so that they can forward it to the main office?

I do hope i can get the number active and use the same number all over again. Any other way, i may worry the digi center folks talking rubbish

Yes, they are right. By right, there is no way you can get back the number. smile.gif

At least now they tell you there is another solution for you. Get the card bracket then.

Remember, actually there is no way you can get back your line once it gets terminated.

Yup the bracket is the one i am talking about. But I dont think i can find it since it was dissapeared long long time ago doh.gif

Is there such thing as getting prepaid then try to change the number as close as the number i am familiar with?

Also, is it possible to MNP to other telco when my line is deactivated?

I recommend everyone to keep the sim card frame safely, as well as to record down the long number printed on the sim card.

At least DiGi still give prepaid users 90 days. The latest Hotlink plan get only 50 days (and possibly Xpax too, not sure).

DiGi do send sms reminders, at least 30 days and 7 days before termination (and one more at 90 days, where you still have 2 more days to topup). However, I suspect those sms are short-lived (maybe one or a few hours validity), so if your sim is not in a phone and the phone switched on around the clock, then it is very likely the warning sms will not reach you.

Although I've requested for it several times over the years, DiGi (unlike Hotlink) still do not put the termination date in their *126# balance message. The only way to get the last date to top up is to contact Customer Service.

I plan to do porting for another line of mine to celcom. The criteria for the porting as below. What does "account is active" means? Currently the line has been barred (still can receive call, but can't make call only) since I didn't reload it but I still hv like 1-2 months before it's terminated.
Can I still MNP this line? Thanks.

What are the criteria of successful porting?
i. No overdue amount
ii. No outstanding contract obligations
iii. Supplementary number needs to ported together
iv. Service subscriptions with additional number issued to the account e.g. data, fax, and other value added services must be migrated
v. Credit Limit not exceeded
vi. Account is active

I already stopped using this DiGi prepaid for data, as I was always have to cancel the auto-renewal. Really2 ma fan, and expensive too.

You can cancel anytime, but the service will stop immediately, so you may want to wait till the last day and make use of the service in the meantime. In your case, you need to unsuscribe by midnight tomorrow, 01 March.

To unsubscribe, dial *116# and choose the option to subscribe the same plan, then the reply will tell you you're already on it and ask if you want to unsubscribe.

Let me start by saying I'm a DIGI Smart plan user

Having said that, Maxis just released new internet plans with no call commitments. Considering the slight extra only, it's pretty tempting to hop over now, considering they have way better coverage.

Digi better respond soon

for the Daily 50MB, DiGi don't send reminder SMS

for the Weekly 250MB, DiGi send two reminder SMS as far as I recall.. but it is sent at 7am - if your hp not switched on at that time, i think you're unlikely to receive the sms later on

It's Internet Value Plan.

For ppl who you know, use the internets instead of SMS. (SMS is real occasional for me, 5 sen / 15 sen won't make a huge impact)

And it's 5 sen to maxis. Digi SMART plan is 10 to any operator. Averaging it out assuming you have friends on both networks, cost will be the same

estimated lost sms revenue worldwide by telcos in 2011 due to alternative messaging channels like whatsapp, facebook and etc is USD13.9 billion

in my opinion, anyone who subscribes to a data plan should get free sms or at least sms at a much lower rate

telcos need to embrace the change and realise sms charges need to come down in this day and age, instead of trying to charge more to make up the losses

data is obviously the modern day revenue driver

just my opinion ba

Well yeah, that's from your ideology perspective on what telcos need to shift their focus to.

Nevertheless, as it stands, digi needs to amend rates or the Maxis plans are definitely more attractive, for internet users. (plan is catered to such users anyways).

Yeah I'm aware. 1.5GB is plenty though on a mobile device, but if I go for the 3.5GB one definitely no problems there laugh.gif

But digi caps your speed down to 5kbps, which is quite frankly, just ridiculous sweat.gif

Agreed, but DiGi prepaid don't have that problem. If I really needed data on my hp every day, I'd use DiGi Prepaid Internet Limited Edition data sim and carry a separate toy phone for calls and sms

Topup RM100 for 100 days of internet, 3GB per month, 3G speed good enough for me

Maxis postpaid plan you mentioned is RM75 per month for 3.5GB, DiGi Prepaid Internet LE RM28-31 per month for 3GB

Ah that's the one with the speed capped right?

Yeah guess it works, but not my cup of tea. Not a fan of slower speeds and carrying dummy phone around

yes, speed is around 340kbps

i'm using now on my laptop as i type this

although not superfast, DiGi is very stable and consistent if you in a good signal area

but agreed Maxis is faster and have more good signal area, at a price

Well yeah, for regular forum browsing it's fine.

And that's the problem. If you're in good area. My job puts me at different clients at different times, and I've had such random coverage. Even when travelling in KL area from one place to another, line cuts off alot in certain areas.
Not to mention recently they're upgrading works are not helping make ppl happy.

I've used digi for many many years (more than 10 now), and you pay for what you get. But with Maxis' new plan, the pricing is similar, which is not right. Digi's poorer coverage (ignoring even speed) is meant to be offset with the cheaper price.

And yes, the Internet Lite plan can work for you, but we need to compare apples with apples. Direct competitor is SMART plan 48/68.
Extra 2 bucks (or same price if contract 12 months) is more than worth it for the significantly better coverage (and this is ignoring the extra space and extra capacity).

A little more steep on the 75 bucks one (7 bucks difference), but the 7 bucks is justified via 500 extra MBs and significantly better speeds and better coverage.

I've been loyal to Digi and supported them, but this is very frustrating. Don't see them responding also (I've been told Maxis' plan has been out for a week or so)

Since i never do postpaid, i don't need to worry about all the choices and small print. Whichever plan you choose, the bill going to be more than whatever number the telco quotes due to contract stamp fee, service tax, itemised bil, clip, voicemail tax and etc. I've been with DiGi prepaid for 12 years and they still have some good deals. But they are not the same company that I used to admire so much for their innovation. Like you said other telcos have caught up and become more competitive. I'm waiting for Umobile to buy into DiGi and share 4G network in the future. Those two have some complementary features and would make a mighty alliance if you ask me. We'll see what happens. Meanwhile many DiGi users and staff have voted with their feet.

Yeah, that's my problem with them. They're no longer that company of the past. And they've gotta figure that and react to market as well.

Guess we'll have to see how things go. But as of now, there's a definite pricing disparity

Haha I was on prepaid Digi prior to being on postpaid actually laugh.gif

Exactly, this is a great shame as DChat is by far the best Customer Service channel that DiGi offers

I'm using IE9 and Chrome, neither acceptable to DiGi

Hopeless

By the way, has anyone tried using DChat from smartphone browser?

I'm really confused of how Digi plan with new phone works.

Example:

1)for 24 months of DG Smart Plan 48

Samsung GALAXY S II (Noble Black) RM 1399.00
DG Smart Plan 48 (Advance Payment for Plan) RM 48.00
Device Advance Payment RM 250.00
Delivery Fees (Delivery Terms and Conditions) RM 0.00
Total Price RM 1697.00

2)for 12 months of DG Smart Plan 48

Samsung GALAXY S II (Noble Black) RM 1599.00
DG Smart Plan 48 (Advance Payment for Plan) RM 48.00
Device Advance Payment RM 50.00
Delivery Fees (Delivery Terms and Conditions) RM 0.00
Total Price RM 1697.00

I know they try to keep the total prices around the same. What's the purpose of the Device Advance Payment? They change some of the device price to device advance payment sounds the same to me, since you're still paying RM48 for every following month, right? the price of the phone in total is still the same for both tenure anyway.

simple. They afraid you "run away" with the phone after you subscribe the plan. (you get a phone at cheap price if you subscribe the 1 or 2 years plan)

so, they charge you in full first, thats include device advance payment. the advance payment will be given back to you on monthly basis throughout your contract period.

therefore, in case you 'run away' with the phone, digi don't have to 'beg' you to pay for the termination charges so hard.

in hilly area, the line decreases...and then gone case.. cant even make emergency calls. any idea when will they upgrade their coverage ?? Kedah area, semeling and bedong. unstable coverage.. always... (where as maxis and celcom are always FULL BAR coverage) hmm...

this is correct

GSM 1800/1900 MHz networks around the world always have weaker coverage than 850/900 MHz

olden times, TimeCel 017 and TMTouch 013 same issue as DiGi on coverage

Any Digi representative here or anyone with the knowledge below, please help icon_question.gif

I tried to buy Xperia S from Digi online, can I change my current Digi prepaid number to DG Smart Plan? Because apparently I cant find the option to change my current prepaid number into DG Smart Plan after choosing the phone plan. There's only 1. Change from current postpaid 2. Change to Digi with MNP 3. Get a new number

What should I do to change a prepaid number into a supplementary line of a Digi Smart Plan?

And is there any charges for DG Family supplementary line?

Hmm? From the looks of this sentence:

It means that all renewals will be Rm48 after the promo period. Regardless of when we subscribe?

That's how I read their info, and it would mean noone could get more than one month at the RM30 rate. Anyway, I've emailed DiGi for clarification.

DiGi confirmed to me the April date mentioned on their website was a mistake.

The RM48/30 days applies only from 19 May 2012 onwards.

Still bad though cos RM48 is not competitive rate.

RM48 cos that's da new price from 19 May onwards.

Still if you ask me it's quite possible DiGi will extend the RM30 fee for a longer time. Just have to wait and see first.

Not directly under DiGi. The only way currently is to mnp out of Easy to another telco then mnp back to DiGi under Best. For that you'd need to use up your Easy credit first or else forfeit it.

Hello guys,
I plan to buy a phone with DiGi packages.

I was looking around, and found a Galaxy W phone in which I like.
It says that the price is RM249.

Please check the screenshot:
Attached Image

Does this means that I have to pay RM249 to get the phone, or RM937 as per the screenshot?

As very much expected after all telcos have a limit for their users.
So, no point keeping DiGi anymore.
My signal keeps dropping in the office. Two days already my phone went to SOS call and SIM Card Rejected status without me noticing.
That's is, I think I have been patient enough.

Same case with mine. Phone went offline and online constantly. Can't call out, people can't call in. Asked OCS, was told upgrade service taking place at my area, expected to finish on 11/04/2012 or earlier. No compensation. This is unacceptable. Asked for a list of areas affected, was told no such info available. Sorry DiGi, will be porting out when my contract expires.

That's the reason why these people are not doing their homework well. smile.gif
I'm not sure how's the coverage back in PG but as far as I know, in KL Sentral, PJ, Port Dickson and Seremban, these areas are fully covered then I'm happy already. I frequent these areas all the time.
My sister is using U Mobile with her iPhone 4S in PD and Seremban, she has no complaint and it has been treating her well. smile.gif

DiGi Campus Rate are not that attractive any more if compared to when it was first introduced. sad.gif

Feels like porting to U-Mobile U28 as it provides attractive data at low rate.. anyone here ported from DiGi to U-Mobile @ KL / Selangor area? Is the coverage (especially indoor / high-rise) more-or-less the same / far worse / better; if compared with DiGi?

You should complain to MCMC. I did, and requested for compensation. DiGi called me back and agreed to it.

Thanks, will do so. May I know how much did they agreed to compensate you?

What were their excuses for the 'no coverage' issue?

The no-coverage was from a service upgrade, which they announced earlier. But I never thought such upgrade would render us unable to call out or call in at all.

PM you on the compensation.

Yesterday my colleague tried to call me several times and cannot get through. The best part is I didn't get any missed call alert SMS. Bravo DiGi.

I think I'm really done with this. I'll call them after my work today.

So, did you complained to DiGi? What they said?

I am thinking of bringing my 'no coverage' issue after the 'tomorrow network' maintenance to MCMC as well and will let you guys know what the outcome is. I bet there must be some of you who are experiencing the exact issue as myself and Dannyl.

most likely your friend switched to other telco

then the number will be de-listed

and DiGi do send a message to inform you on that

The last time I asked OCS, it's like this. I use 1 example, HTC Legend, RRP RM1999, they sell for RM999 with 2 years contract. If terminate with 4 months left in the contract, the penalty is RM266.67. Put your own figures in bold to calculate your scenario. Or give us the details and we calculate for you.

DIGI SMART PLAN PENALTY CALCULATION
---------------------------------------------------------
RRP (Market Price) X RM 1,999.00
Special Price Y RM 999.00
P Savings (X - Y) Z RM 1,000.00
End Contract Date 5/9/2012
End Contract Date - Today (months) W 4
End contract date – start contract date (tenure) V 24
Administrative Fee S RM 100.00

Formula (W/V x Z)
Calculation 4/24 x 1000
Result RM 166.67
Administrative Fee + RM 100.00
Final Penalty Fee RM 266.67

hi.

Im using DG50, and i've been charged 196 for using roughly 19mb of data on my phone.

it was billed as PAY AS YOU USE. Is this the proper billing amount? because i was under the impression that data on phone is limited to a certain amount per day.

Anyway to reduce this amount?

Yes, it is correct for PAYU basis.
RM 0.10 for 10kb, so 19.6MB is roughly 1960kb and it comes up to RM 196... I think the limit is RM 250.
No way to reduce anyway...

Cannot. You at least need your friend's photocopy of IC and a letter with his signature expressing his permission to let you become a standalone primary account.

Anyone have any idea why can't I connect to any network in Singapore? For some reason I can't connect art all. Before passing immigration the only changed I did was turn off mobile data as not to use it. Never got any welcome messages to Singapore what so ever. Tried restarting phone few times, but useless. You have to apply for international roaming. I think you have to pay for deposit first. hmm.gif Unlike other telcos which automatically switch for you, I know I had the same encounter too. laugh.gif

Next month, going to Bangkok, must make sure to get international roaming.

I used to have roaming with my old plan. Then changed to new plan, they didn't turn on roaming for me. Was stuck in another country, had to find wifi hotspot and email them to turn it on.

Yes, not to use 3G within 24 hours. Else, you will be welcomed with astronomical figured bill. It is not updated in your account yet. However, call and sms can be used. smile.gif

hey guise need someone to clear my confusion,

if you get a good digi coverage in ur area, any reason why wouldn't you buy a phone from digi plan? i find it mindboggling for people to opt for independent phone nonetheless. Maybe the 2years contract is too much to take in? any thoughts pls.

Thanks all.

depends on your usage but generally DiGi Best is much better value than Easy plan

choose carefully as DiGi do not allow switching between these two plans

hey guise need someone to clear my confusion,

if you get a good digi coverage in ur area, any reason why wouldn't you buy a phone from digi plan? i find it mindboggling for people to opt for independent phone nonetheless. Maybe the 2years contract is too much to take in? any thoughts pls.

Thanks all.

It's worth getting a phone from DiGi if it's a new phone and you don't mind tied to a contract. Older phones have dropped in value so it's not worth it anymore, like now S2 is RM14xx so the savings ain't that much.

Anyone facing serious interruption from digi? based in subang jaya..they sent sms to my phone stating they are upgrading the network, but the phone call quality is f***ing bad. Either i cant call out, or cant receive call, or the voice quality is seriously bad, cant listen a word clearly from the other end  vmad.gif

Me facing problems in Kota Damansara. Breaking connection, can't hear the other end. Once in a while get lucky and have perfect dialogue. Heard they are upgrading service AGAIN.

According to DiGi Engineering, no upgrading in Bukit Jalil right now.

It is recommended you contact Customer Service with details of your exact location.

Hi guys, just making an enquiry here.

I recently signed up with Digi's HTC One X's 3GB plan in April and took up the EPP offer, meaning I would be paying RM120+ over the period of 24 months to my bank which I swiped the card with. However, I notice that I'm getting double charged. Once when my card was charged for payment no. 1 (full amount - RM120+) and then another time when the Digi billing period was up (RM68+excess usage). AFAIK, the EPP offer consists of the phone price as well as the monthly fees. Anyone else encountered the same?

I bought Xperia S through EPP with RM122.XX per month as well. Will let you know once I get the bill for my credit card. Fow now I only get the bill from Digi itself and it's quite confusing.

Is it RM28 for principal and supplementary?
also, is it RM28 with / without auto billing? Rm23 if auto billing?

I remember there was a DiGi representative that frequent this thread and clarify enquiries from us consumers. I guess we'll have to use D'chat for all our questions now.
